Andorid 4.4 for X10 Mini - Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini

Now that we hear Andorid 4.4 will have less RAM usage and will be somewhat friendly to low spec devices, can we see some light at the end of tunnel for X10 Mini.
Havent seen nAa active lately makes chances very slim, but I hope some action can be seen.

i think that we need a new devs for the robyn and mimmi because it´s posible that nAa has abandoned us.

Good to know that it works well with low RAM devices but RAM is not the biggest problem- there are many other problems as drivers etc

I'm pretty sure it will need a new kernel/recovery too. Anyone to confirm? @nobodyAtall
(Not a question for somebody to do a kernel I just think that previous kernels won't work)

Kitkat contains further optimizations in order to run it on lower-end devices, so we would expect it to run a bit better than jelly-bean, which already had improvements over Ice-Cream-Sandwich.
The main problem is we don't have developers devoting their time to port it to our phones anymore.

I dont think anyone would try to port kitkat ya may aswell just buy a new device like many people on here I love my x10mini pro but if you want latest software get a new phone its a shame that everything on the x10mini forums has come to a hault

Let's see. I'll try to do a 3.x kernel for mimmi and robyn. We only need new kernel. That's it. Lets give a try
Who knows. Maybe we can bring kitkat to your phones Gingerbread, ICS, Jellybean. Why not kitkat?
Let me find out.

[ROM] (GSM) - ICS MIUI v4 based on Sony BETA ICS - Android 4.0.3 [RL 07/03] *Alpha*

Hey Guys,
Here is a MIUI v4 build based on the ICS BETA ROM from Sony!
All credits for the BETA go to Sony, Atarii, DooMLoRD, nickholtus, KeiranFTW and DJ_Steve
Download here: http://www.mediafire.com/?9v416zly9u6778u
See this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1524159
Everything that is wrong with that ROM is wrong with this one plus a lot more at the moment.
Use one of the kernels from that thread to get it booted, please note it takes a while!
Make sure to wipe EVERYTHING before installing.
You should use -64 baseband and flash after a fresh install of .62 stock firmware.
I will work on this further when I come back on Monday.
vuhuu im waiting i will be first tester
Its up, enjoy!
Reserved for screenshots, my impression and saying thank you.
unfortunately still does not recognize sim card
oh.. will try this out...

Just thought I would say, you have done well becoming a developer starting from nowhere
I found that kernel v3 was the only one which worked for me, beautiful looking software <3 MIUI. Couldnt get to the settings menu though to fix the graphical glitches :/ so i had to go back to ICX beta.
Media programs do not work, just crash everytime you do anything.
But keep up the good work mate

[Q] Suggest me an ICS rom

Hello.
I am making this thread, because there are too many roms here and I can't find out which one to pick.
I want some stable ICS rom for my Mini ST15, because I am tired of waiting for the official ICS, and I would also want to have the additional settings to turn off the auto brightness...
I suggest the stock rom with draco_ag's mods and bloatware removed.
Sent from my phone.
link or anything, please?
real ics 5.2 is stable and fast using it with mesa 1.6 kernel and every thing is good
agree, real ics 5.2 is superb, use with mesa 1.6 kernel. but just a suggestion if u want stock, better wait till nxt week for new firmware release by sony.
Real ICS is for Live with Walkman......

Getting started with installing custom ROM

Hello everyone,
I have recently rooted my SGS2
using CF root.
Replace the Stock kernal with siyah 4.1.5
Then currently i am on stock ROM
slimICS.
HOw to keep the thread alive....
share your experience of Custom ROM which you are using.
Pros and Cons of the ROM...
Report any Bug..
We can then submit the issue to corresponding Thread or developer..
It is really your choice when it comes to deciding on a ROM.
A few things to consider, the JB 4.1.1 ROMs are available but not stable yet. So if you want to try the latest and greatest and don't mind the odd crash and random reboot it allows you the opportunity to report back your findings and assist in that way with development.
If stability is your concern, then you certainly want to go with an ICS ROM. CM9 is pretty stable as a recommendation.
As you mentioned earlier you could also dual boot to experience both. Just a few pros and cons for you to help in decision.
Let us know if we can be of further assistance.

Theres no limit to the number of ROMs you flash in a day
Only make sure your battery is above 60% atleast before you flash a ROM, or anything for that matter.

few dayz back i was also having the same question
should i try JB too ??..
ok so here is the answer.
JB ROMs are not stable since it has some memory leak issue.
It wil not be resolved till Samsung officially launch JB for SGS2.(will have to wait for stable version)
But CM10 team is trying to resolve infact minimize the issue and get the best JB ROM...
you can check there 30 sep nightly build...
Which i have installed it...
I m having SlimICS ROM1

If You're gonna wait for CM... By the time it's usable regularly/heavily the stock ROMs camera( the only bad report mind you) will be fixed.
So now you have both Stock nd CM functional.
Choice is yours

I have switched back to the stock rom for a specific reason, I like the bravia engine and xloud features. Basically there are lots of different reports that you can mod these features but I personally haven't had any success. CM9 did rock otherwise. Its the best UI experience ever.
Besides this, there is no other reason to stick to stock/custom rom. I do love the fluidity stock based custom rom by Pulak and so far its got the best battery backup.

Evervolv 4.3 - alpha

Hi all, As I said, here comes the first version of android 4.3 for the x10. This is based on the evervolv ROM.
The binaries can be found in evervolv 4.3 folder.
https://www.wuala.com/CMX10-Releases/?key=CMX10Team
BUGS
NO CWM delivered with kernel
NO CHARGEMON
The WLOD that because famous with android 4.3
Maybe a lot more.
Install
Copy ROM on your SD card.
Wipe Data and Cache
Get into CWM and install ROM.
Flash the kernel.ftf using flashtool
This is an early version, I might not have time to work on it a lot. If someone wants the sources before their released, PM me.
Scritch
PS: Forgot the little disclaimer.
No warranty about this. I can't be blamed if somethings goes wrong or if phone is damaged. Use at your own risk.

There's some pretty cool version of JB. The CM10 now has every thing except hardware video encoding/decoding. Everything else is working nicely.
CM10.1 and Everolv 4.2 and 4.3 have an issue with the kernel. But I can't manage to fix it. So we've been working on newer kernel, 2.6.32 but it has a camera issue. And we're trying to port a newer kernel, but it's not that easy.

Some other options i cant find - for example i cant change icns on status bar - wifi, sync or something else - i dont know chow too change it ;p
But ROM can be nice in the future i like it too in alpha stage its better then other in beta ;p
One more thing - is it possible to restore USB charge or something like this to kernel? Becouse i read You remowe this options from source code and from 4.X kernel we cant use other then Sony charger - i have Philips charger for 2 phones but cant use it.
