[ROM][PORT] 4.3 Echoe_Rom_VZW_v9_11-28-13 - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S 4

First let me say I am no Developer. I am a long time closet Flashaholic that is taking the plung to bring my darkness to light.
I had been waiting (like all mdk folks) to be able to safely flash tw 4.3 and really liked this International Rom and wanted to share. There are 2 versions Themed and Stock both are very customizable with extra features built in. (see original thread for full list)
This will not change your modem and has been modified for Verizon S4.
-----------------------------------------------------------
I am not responsible for what you do to your device !!
FOR MDK USERS (you must be loki"d and have custom recovery)
How to install :
1. From recovery wipe/factory reset
2. Flash Rom
3. Flash a TW 4.3 kernel ( ktoonez's or chronic's will work)
4. First boot takes about 3-5 minutes please let settle an additional 5 minutes for smoother set-up
-----------------------------------------------------------
I want to give thanks and credit to the following for all the work they do and time they put in to the community.....
if i forgot anyone pm me and will gladly add you...

Sweet

Been thinking about moving to a red theme. Downloading.

Is this only red? If so would there be like a un red theme rom as well?

This ROM seems quite responsive, and your theme work is extensive. Nice job. Seems good so far. Still getting things set back up, but I'll give it a good test tomorrow. Thanks for something new to try. :highfive:

Would not boot for me. Got the yellow triangle thing. What recovery did you use? I am using TWRP 2.5.0.2.

Just an FYI about the CRT-OFF Animation. Like most of the other CRT-OFF MODs, it is a little tricky for some users. From what I see, you need to have Auto-Brightness OFF for it to work properly. I also heard that sometimes you need to be connected to WiFi as well for it to work. I never use Auto-Brightness, nor am I ever disconnected from the internet (thanks to Verizon forcing us all to give up our unlimited data plans---> is there an emoticon for a middle finger?), so I never have issues with the CRT-OFF.

I never use auto brightness either and I always just choose to tell Verizon "to go **** themselves" and then I pay my bill and move on.

Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk 2

Katsbeat 4.4 T0lte

This is a port from the CM build of 4.4 however everything to do with CM has been removed. Swapped DSP for Awesome Beats, swapped CM file manager for for Root Browser, swapped out camera for moto x camera, swapped out browser for dolphin. Removed cm settings and replaced with vanilla nexus settings.apk, added in Sony x4 video player, Nexmusic and 4.4 gapps included in ROM and a nice Beats Audio Blizzard boot animation.

I'm a big fan of the moto x cam. Best thing to come out of Motorola I had the Qualcomm error once but not since. I think its the timeservice.apk I took from another device. Just need to put the t0lte one back in that's just a guess though. Have u tried any other 4.4 ROMs with swipe? Just curious if they have the same issues. I appreciate the feedback so quickly. It is pretty vanilla at the moment but you gotta start somewhere

Hey no worries. At all. Always love trying out new Roms. Vanilla is good. Nothing wrong with that at all. And with xposed working again things are looking good. No stress about the error. It's not a biggie at all. As for the keyboard Ive only had that issue once on an early build of 4.4 but I don't use stock long enough to really worry ?? great work though brother. Very nice.

I'll have to put a link up for superuser. Flash that (you can grab it from any n7105 4.4 rom) so u get root permission and delete timeservices.apk and problem solved that'll save another 300mb download for you.
Downloaded rom - installed by TWRP v2.6.3.7 coming from lion rom 4.3 - no phone service and says baseband unknown. any ideas please - as this has been repeated no matter how many times I installed the rom. I feel it is sleek.

This looks sweet. Many in the community have been waiting for this, as I'm certain that I'm not the only one who has been waiting for Sprint NABD/KitKat to be taken to the next level.
What's been removed? Do you have a list of sorts to which one could refer?
Do you have any screenies to share? I'm curious as to what this may look like.
Thanks for taking the best of what is out there native hotspot hack that breaks MMS) and including it into one sweet sounding ROM! I hate having native hotspot but losing MMS, though handcent is a very good app.
Josh may have a fix in mind soon. Or maybe may have had a hand in providing a fix that retains MMS functionality and includes a working hotspot hack. I think it may be out there, as I've seen it in a list of sorts, or on a download page. I don't remember. It doesn't matter at the moment.
All I wanted to really say was this appears that it is awesome, I'd love to see some screenshots, a list of what has been significantly debloated, and I think it'd be just great to have working hotspot and functioning, native SecMMS.apk. That last thing, if it's out there, would be ripe for the taking and make this appear just about perfect.
To use.
Thanks, mang.

And if u uodate that hotspot u should def add @sac23 to that thanks list too. It was such a simple fix right under my nose. I was way overcomplicating it. LoL

Don't know what folder you mean, but the hotspot mod posted by Josh Beach is updated to March 7, 2014, and has no need for an mms fix since the mod doesn't require it. Just updated hotspot mod with no problems with the MMS.

I downloaded this earlier yesterday (haven't flashed yet obviously), does this have the touch wiz launcher? I only ask because I don't know any other music widget that's as good as stock Samsung.

Works for me from the toggle but not the volume up button. Tried a bunch of times, no luck. On Hyper you would have to push power button to light the screen, shut off screen, then the volumn up button would turn on the torch. Tried that too, no luck. Thanks though, having it on a toggle is more than i had before!

Yep.. They work independent of each other.. The toggle Flashlight / torch I added.. The torch for screen off the volume rocker I just enabled the setting.. The code to enable it must of changed slightly or it was pulled out completely like if you remember you can enable some toggles but they no longer work because the code was complete removed..
Kind of what they did with Blocking Mode / dormant mode.
And andybones pulled all the code and added it back..
Since then it was added back after me7..
Will see how things go.
Thanks for your feed back.

Did you flash them in order? What other mods are you using? I'm running JrKruse nc2 rom and it worked fine outside of the vol rocker plus r-hippy's inverted missed call notification but I believe it was when I flashed a theme that broke systemui.
All I can say now is check the file structure of some of your mods and see if they conflict.
I read it even works with the S5 launcher.
Sent from a mod junkies I545
I have the s5 messages, launcher, s - note, a couple theme apks, and the s5 quick settings things.
Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
Try a clean flash of your rom then install the S5 launcher then this.
Sent from a mod junkies I545
Once you flash any other mods that have systemui or secsetting apks it will stop the function of the flashlight or systemui depending on what other files it's calling/ using. You will need to apply the changes to the same files to keep all mods.
