[Q] BEST app to hide the navigation/home screen controls below the screen? - Sony Xperia Z Ultra

To make full use of the screen when gaming, I'd like to hide the navigation bar.
Can anyone recommend an app in which I can hold the power button down & select an option to hide the bar?
Thanks xda members.

Don't know any which have options tied into the power button though.

Thank you both SweFox & liqn7. I will try both.

I went with GMD Auto Hide Soft Keys PRO...
Great app with many options. It does what it says. Now I can make full use of the 6.44'' screen.
Thank you guys.

Sorry for reading this topic so late, but I'll give my advice anyway: go for GMD Gesture, it has way more options than Auto Hide...

is that a serious question?
I use it to change brightness and enable/disable bluetooth when getting into my car.
oops double post.
You do know all of that is available in the drop down tray. Including brightness. Just slide your finger across the tray left and right

not if it's on auto
plus, why not use it.
Maybe the OP doesn't feel like sliding down the notification bar.
To turn on BT I can
1) Hit the button on the power widget on my home screen
or
2) slide down notificiation, hit the BT icon, which opens up the BT settings, click enable BT... then hit back to return to my homescreen.
^ apologies, it just doesn't seem "simple clean" to me.....
"simple clean" is referring to the wallpaper... not the widgets/apps setup
eww, toooo many "samsung" on this phone already. =P
I kind of like it.
+1 to frankencat.
I love the samsung aspect to this phone.

Homescreen spacing issue after soft key removal

I know I'm nitpicking here but after I installed the GMD softkey remover it drops the home screen down just a bit and leaves a space up at the top. If it turn on the soft key spoof mode it just moves everything up and leaves a space at the bottom. Here are some pictures to show what I'm talking about. Red bars show area I'm talking about.

Soft key spoofing on
Is there a way to add some padding space above the dock buttons but below the homescreen grid? I've tried different launchers but I cant use the stock weather widget for some reason.

But then I lose my softkeys all together. I still need them to pop-up so I can navigate. Actually, how would you navigate without the softkeys completely?

Awesome, I'll give that a try.
In my case, I take em out (soft keys) and navigate and do much more with GMD Gesture Control.
Cheers!

What the gentleman above said. It's good to have the menu back without delay of long press.

I've tried getting the menu button back with TweaksBox but just doesn't seem to want to work. Tried what the app suggests plus rebooted and nothing... Am I just missing something?

I had to go into display, home buttons, button combo to add it after enabling

Thanks, I do miss the ability to set a long press to the IME switcher though.

Root apps galore!

Since we have finally gotten root, suggest all your root apps here.
I personally installed "ultimate dynamic navbar" right away, which not only got rid of that ugly have bar but also autohides it for more screen estate

Good topic. I hope more suggestions get posted. I have installed adblock plus.

I tried installing the module, but it won't hide the stock soft keys through xposed's safe setting. I had to use the build, dangerous, method to kinda get it to work, and now it only hides the soft keys while in apps, but they are still there while you're looking at the launcher and not in any app. So how did you get it to work.
You guys must know about this; if not, I suggest Greenify.
I use a two-finger swipe up gesture in Nova to auto-hibernate stuff.
Try auto hide softkeys app

Try the GMD Auto Hide softkeys APK in the play store
I bought the pro version because its more customization. Had it for a week now and its's worked flawless.

(REQ) a way to add extra toggles

On Verizon. Need a way to get extra toggles like screen rotation, flashlight. Etc
Root, install xposed, use gravity box
Any toggle app will do that.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using XDA Free mobile app
Do we have root?
No we (Verizon) do not
i use elixer for those types of things. it is a great app that will let you build a widget with multiple options... toggles apps batter temp signal strength etc. and uses little to no juice.
this is one example. there are half a dozen or so different sized widgets.

I want to hit 'thanks' on this post because I definitely laughed out loud when I read it.
Lol
I used Widgetsoid on my old rooted Droid RAZR MAXX HD and loved it. Now on my unrooted Moto X I tried Power Toggles and realized I can't add more than 6 or 8 toggles on one row. So I decided it's time to declutter my homescreen of widgets and went with Notification Toggle and love it.
