Make sure you rename the cwm recovery to "recovery.img" without the quotes. Put the recovery.img into the android SDK platform tools folder.
Use command prompt and type -
cd \Android\android-sdk\platform-tools
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
If recovery is successfully installed you'll receive a notification that say's -

You have to install the fastboot drivers twice to get it to work right.
Put the recovery.img on the sdcard of the phone and try the Flashify (root) App from the play store and it should install the recovery just fine.

Just root it easily with Cydia Impactor...
Download the Cydia Impactor tool to your pc from the Cydia Impactor website. Extract the zip to a new folder on your desktop. Connect your L9 to your PC with USB debugging enabled and open the extracted cydia folder and click on and run the Impactor.exe, when the Impactor tool opens just click on the start button. Cydia will root your phone in like 5 to 10 seconds.
Download SuperSU from the play store, install and done.

@DARKSKIES
I just want to make sure that you successfully unlocked the bootloader... When you issued the "adb reboot oem unlock" command you were taken to a confirmation screen to unlock the bootloader and you had to use the volume key to confirm unlock?
Just want to be sure so you don't have any security errors or a brick.
Hi could somebody help me? Thanks!

Awesome... I'm glad I was able to help you.
Before you do anything else, make sure you perform a nandroid backup of your device through cwm now and make the backup to the SD card and not on the device so it doesn't take up unnecessary space on the internal memory.
Before you flash a custom ROM make sure you read through the OP's ROM flashing instructions and prerequisite to make sure it's compatible with your device and cwm version.
Enjoy the new possibilities of your phone and happy ROM flashing!

Lenovo A6000 Stuck on Logo Screen

Hi,
I was flashing the CWM recovery from a link given in this forum on my lenovo a6000 with the command
fastboot boot recovery.img
it gave me an error
downloading 'recovery.img'...
OKAY [ 0.301s]
booting...
FAILED (remote: dtb not found)
finished. total time: 0.316s
Then i searched on internet and found another command to do the same and that was
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
It did write the flash image to the phone. But since then the phone is not booting. It's stuck on the screen "Lenovo Powered by android" cannot attach image because this is my first post. I left the phone for an hour but it's stuck on the boot logo screen.
Then i downloaded twrp recovery and issues this command
fastboot boot recovery.img
It rebooted and went into the twrp recovery menu. I had already downloaded stock rom earlier as a flashable zip file. So i copied the flashable zip to the external sd card using adb push, i then navigated to this zip file form twrp recovery and started the flash process. Evrything completed successfully. I then cleared the cache/dalvik cache and rebooted the phone but it's still stuck on the boot logo screen.
Please help if anyone has encountered similar issue.
I tried various unbrick solutions on google none of them are definitive.
Me too please help us

Flash the rom file by flashtool
Dexteramit I would like to tell you about some fastboot commands
Fastboot boot recovery.img
By using this command the recovery.img is copied into temp memory and the phone gets booted up to the respective recovery. This won't permanently flash the recovery.

Then you will find the phone reboot and fastboot word is written down
Or you can boot to bootloader directly by long press power +volume down button for10 to 15 sec and your phone will boot into fastboot (even if it is stuck at logo)
Write:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Click enter
Fastboot boot recovery.img
To flash stock rom place the stock rom in your external SD open recovery then wipe cache and factory reset then apply update from Sd card (select stock rom)

Is my phone harbricked? No fastboot, no recovery

Hi All,
I've been crawling the web the past few days to find a solution to my problem and unfortunately I didn't...
I have a Asus Zenfone 3 Max ZC520TL MT6737M, I never did a custom OS installation before and didn't know anything about how phone works except the Linux kernel
After 2 or 3 weeks playing with custom rom and recovery, softbrick, fastboot and adb I finally successfully intalled a custom OS, I wanted lineageOS but only found an Himax image working properly (with bluetooth., etc) for my phone and TWRP as custom recovery.
I setted my parameters for all my applications and after inserting my SIM card the network was not working, I tried a factory reset from the phone and then I got stuck in twrp however the way I booted, I tried flashing the os again, the recovery again wiping/formatting data, I was still stuck in TWRP
Then I executed :
fastboot format:ext4 cache
fastboot format:ext4 boot
And now I can't boot nor in twrp nor in fastboot, I can't access the bootloader using power and volume up, and my phone bootloop
Is there a way to get to fastboot to reinstall the recovery and then from here the os or is my phone hardbricked with no future, ready for trash?
Thank you

You completely destroyed phone's boot-loader, what is comparable to a computer's BIOS.
What do you expect? IMO phone is case for the e-waste.

You NEVER format your boot partition as ext4 it's a raw boot.img which holds the kernel and ramdisk. You should really do research and follow instructions alittle better than that.. unfortunately I don't think your device can be saved and if you flashed aboot or sbl1/2/3 then your SOL
Thanks
Thank you for your answers!
I don't know why I did that (sometimes I have crazy bad ideas), I didn't see that on internet

maybe you can flash again like from the factory by using the default flashing and ROM tools.

If your in a Qualcomm chipset and you have an EDL programmer that works for your device I have custom tools in my cloud storage to create an EDL firmware if you don't ready have one. If your on MTK then there is Sugar MTK or SP flash tool that can work. If your an another one you may be out of luck as it seems nobody has been able to restore those chipsets

the biggest problem is i have reset the phone and i am stuck with this message: "to start android enter your password". I entered the correct password but another message appears with a reset phone option.
Since the recovery.img file is no longer in the system, the phone keeps making this loop.
