MIME Feather Glass arrived damaged. MIME's return policy = no refund???? - Galaxy Note 3 Accessories

I am very disappointed after having spent close to $35 (inc shipping) for my Note 3 MIME Feather Glass screen protector.
I opened the package and immediately noticed the screen protector appeared to be scratched in two main places (two scratches extending the width of the protector).
I hoped the scratches were only surface scratches on the protective film.
Unfortunately after removing the protective film it was obvious the scratches were indeed on the Feather Glass protector itself.
So now after buying my most expensive screen protector ever I find myself out my money given the following policy (wish I had known their unusual return policy before ordering):
From Mime's FAQ page:
30-Day Worry Free Returns
If you are not happy with your product, we will do our best to make you a satisfied customer. Due to the nature of glass screen protectors, our products are covered by a 30 day money back guarantee only if package has been unopened and the two security seals undamaged. Shipping fees are non-refundable. Shipping the item back to us is the responsibility of the buyer. Once we receive the item with no damages in its originally packaged format, we will reimburse you the original purchase cost. Please send us a message on our contact page for more details.
Notice the bolded part. In other words, I am not covered for damage that is caused by their careless handling because I can't find that out until I have opened the package!
The other alternative, their replacement policy, only offers me a 40% discount on a replacement for damaged products:
Damage Replacement Policy:
We stand by the quality and craftsmanship of our products. If your MIME Screen Protector or bumper is damaged at any time, we will offer a 40% discount off the retail value on the same product purchased, no questions asked. We include a plastic screen protector with every order of the Ghost Glass for the iPhone 5 and Galaxy S4, free of charge, in the event that this happens. Simply apply the plastic protector as a temporary screen protection solution and wait for your discounted replacement to arrive in the mail. Please send us a message with the subject “Replacement (product name)” and your order information through our contact page and we will be glad to assist you.
Given the price of this protector I expected a better policy to protect me from damage that occurred on THEIR (the large outer box the protector package came in was undamaged) through no fault of mine!
In other words the protector was scratched before MIME even put the protector inside the plastic sleeve and cardboard holder with the MIME logo on it!
I will contact MIME, but given their policy I am not too hopeful.
It might be an isolated incident, but even more then a reason for MIME to stand behind their product for situations like this where the buyer has done nothing wrong other than putting their confidence in the product based on feedback from other buyers.
Worse yet, I removed my iSmooth HD screen protector (now accumulated dust) in preparation for the application of my Feather Glass protector (I did not expect the MIME protector to be scratched to begin with, especially since the shipping box was completely fine (no damage to the box whatsoever)!
If anyone has been in a similar situation (received a damaged / scratched protector) and has been able to get MIME to ship a replacement free (as opposed to a replacement for only 40% off), let me know.
Thanks in advance!

You should really try contacting them first before starting a thread like this.

Bingo. Mine had a chipped corner when it arrived. I sent them a pic of it and they told me to use it until the replacement arrived.

Exactly. Don't get all worked up without trying. I had mine crack while on my device without any impact and they had a replacement order set up within ONE hour of me sending an email to them. I had to provide a picture as well, but that was it. These guys are absolutely awesome.

Thanks for the feedback re. your experiences. That helps a lot!
I would normally have waited but there were a few reasons I decided to post.
I was admittedly, and understandably, frustrated after reading their policy given the damage happened before it was even packed for shipping to me - the outer box was in pristine condition and the small inner MIME box was fine too, so this did NOT happen during shipping.
I.e. their written policy states clearly that they do not provide refunds once the package is opened. That would cause any buyer in this position to have concern that they would be out of luck.
The other policy - damage policy is a 40% discount, which would be okay if the damage was caused by the end user.
Most importantly, I wanted to get some feedback from other users who have been in the same boat, as well as share my experience (which is what the community is great for, learning from one another's posts and experiences), all along hoping MIME would do the right thing to retain business and retain their 'rating'.
I would of course share the follow-up to give MIME credit.
Speaking of which, they have responded to my support inquiry asking me to send some pictures, which I will do now (just woke up after falling asleep so I could not post an update earlier tonight / this morning).
Given that they are asking for the photos which hopefully means they are working with me towards a free replacement (specifics weren't stated, perhaps they plan to decide exactly how to handle it depending on the extent of the scratches).
I suspect the written policy verbiage, which made it sound like I was out of luck despite having received it damaged to begin with, is mostly to protect them from people who may want to abuse the system.
This is where the photos will come in handy to show the actual scratches. I would even be happy to send it back if they asked.
Thanks again for the prompt replies of your outcomes which give me confidence they will resolve this to my satisfaction!
I'll be sure to post the final outcome for both MIME's benefit and that of the community.

In my limited experience with MIME, they've kept their promise on that replacement policy.
I had to exchange my Note 3 due to faulty hardware. Asked MIME if I would qualify for the discount (hey, wouldn't hurt to ask); and they were kind enough to allow me to get a new glass under their replacement policy.
This could be an isolated case, but this is a testament how serious they are about making sure people are happy with their purchase.
Email communication have been spotty with them lately. Kinda unresponsive at times. But I think they're just swamped with Emails. At least they ship out orders fast! Three orders from them, all shipped (verified through USPS' tracking system) within 12-hours! And shipping from their location (NYC) to my address (Toronto, Canada) have been fast!
The stuff MIME include in each packaging is also well considered! MIME includes a really good cleaning cloth *and* a big static-cling PET-like plastic to help remove dust particles on screen before applying the actual glass. I know some manufacturers also include alcohol tissues, and I agree that's something else MIME could include (helps cleaning finger prints off screen surface before applying the glass)
Not to mention, MIME's prices are very competitive! More affordable than Spigen's.
My Note 3, HTC One glass have been superb!

Invisible Shield problems

IF you where thinking about buying the Invisible Shield for your TP2 I would suggest you be very careful. This company makes a crap product for our device and their warranty is apparently worthless. Here is my post to their Facebook page which I am sure will be gone as quickly as someone see's it there:
Your company is unethical. First your kiosk puts the wrong shield on my device, then you charge my card for the honor of getting a warranty replacement that I had already paid extra to have installed on my device to reinstall myself and then you take 2 weeks to get the new shield to me. I send the old shield back the SAME day I received the new one and you still charge me $25 bucks today for the replacement saying I did not get the old one back to you in time. YOUR WARRANTY IS DESIGNED TO DISCOURAGE PEOPLE FROM USING IT. I will never buy one of your products ever again. I will also make sure that I post this wherever I see someone is asking about your product to make sure no one else makes the same mistake. The so called proper shield you sent for my device does not even cover the most vulnerable parts of the device so in the end I paid $60 for a piece of vinyl that will not even fully protect the device. What a waste.
I have never had these problems with the Ghost Armor I have put on other devices and they actually honor their warranty. Learn from my mistake and avoid these people. If you have this product and like it, that is fine but don't be making snarky remarks on this post. This is merely informational to warn other people of my experience.
Thanks for the heads up.
-1 for Inv. shield man.
For me, I ordered mine from the Bodyguardz.
Their customer service is great.
First order gone missing, sent new replacement rightaway.
Thanks for sharing mate. : )
I bought several Inv. shields before for my digital camera, mp3 player, old TyTnII etc. and used warranty exchange once without hassles, but what I found out is, they consistently cut protectors a little small, meaning half to one milimeter off on the screen, which annoys me since it costs 20+ dollars.
This time I bought it from BodyGuardz, we'll see how it turns out (did not receive them yet)
I think will try the Wrapsol next myself. Looking at the kit they have for the Tmobile version, coverage is excellent and there should be no more skippy finger on the screen or orange peel with it. Does not look like it is made out of the helicopter blade vinyl like all the other ones so it probably gets damaged itself more easily but should protect the phone. Anything bad enough to damage any kind of thin wrap all the way through is going to break the phone anyways whether the wrap is there or not. They are just there to stop scratches and such. Looks like their lifetime warranty does not require you to jump through hoops to get a replacement. I emailed customer service and they told me about the warranty and that they should have a Verizon wrap pretty quick.
armor?
Had my 1st ghost armor experience yesterday. Long story shortened-difficult to apply with any degree of perfection (screen only!) Ultimately removed it-will try warrantying & trying again. Not too optimistic though, as when it was on I felt there was an unacceptable degree of "rainbow patterning". What good is any armor if it distorts the view of such an elegant screen?

Giving Away RHOD210 Screen Protectors

RHOD210 ONLY Screen Protectors
EDIT #1: These screen protectors ONLY fit the T-Mobile Touch Pro2 (Rhod210). If you have any other model, then the speaker grill will not line up properly. You could do a bit of very easy cutting to make it work, however. These are static cling adhesive, so no water or sticky adhesive needed. It just sticks on there.
I recently got in some screen protectors for my replacement Rhodium210 (Yep, I had to send it in again). Apparently the shipping department thought that the quantity of "1" that I ordered was "15" and sent me that many. If anyone wants a free static cling screen protector, PM me. First come, first serve.
I just figured I'd offer them to users here first instead of tucking them away in storage. Their screw up is your gain.
For any of you worried about me scamming them, I did contact them to let them know about the mix up. They told me to keep the extras as it would be more expensive to have them shipped back, than to just let me keep them.
If you PM me about getting one of them, please be sure to include your name, address, and number that you want.
Remaining screen protectors as of 17:00 Central Standard Time on 8 April 2011:
All gone.

I ended up finding a book of stamps that I already had, so I did not need to buy more as I thought I would. Also, the pack of envelopes was only a dollar. For this reason, I won't be charging anything for the remaining screen protectors. If you want one, just send me a PM with your real name, mailing address, and the amount you want. I'll be refunding the donations I've received already, just to be fair, since I found the supplies I was charging for.
Since I don't have to pay for it, neither do you guys.

I just got the notification of the refund - very kind of you! I know you weren't asking a lot anyway, but I would have been very happy to pay regardless.
Many thanks!
For those of you receiving the screen protectors, here is a thread guide to installing them properly. I've been doing this for many a year now, and even learned a couple of things from this guide.
Guide: Perfect Screen Protector Installation Technique
Last day to get one. I've got someone to take the rest that aren't yet claimed. The Give-Away ends at 1700 CST tonight. Four more hours.
All gone. The last ones will be mailing in the morning.
Thank you!
CFB - thank you again for sharing the screen protectors with us, that was very generous of you. Just wanted you to know that mine came in yesterday's mail safe & sound.

Clarivue Screen Protector

Definitely not worth the $12.99 price tag. Better to go for something much cheaper.
I recently purchased this product after a recommendation through the XDA EVO 3D forum. I patiently waited for the product to arrive and upon arrival I noticed two screen protectors but only one LCD wet tissue. It didn't bother me at the time because I figured I would never have a need for the other one. I placed the first screen protector on my phone, and had trouble getting it to fit properly on the phone. I eventually got it on, albeit not straight, but there was this long bubble on the edge of the protector with no dust underneath it. I thought it would eventually go away.
A little more than 24 hours after use, I woke up and noticed a hairline scratch/line that was only on the screen protector. I lifted it up with tape, and ran tape under it but the issue still remained. It was not on my phone as I flipped from bottom to top, and the problem was still there. I thought how useful it was to have a second one, but had an issue since there was no other LCD tissue.
Needless to say after 24 hours of receiving your product, my phone now has no screen protector. I am very disappointed thus far with the product, as it is 2-10X the price of other screen protectors. I had no problem paying the price because I had this sense that this was a quality product.
I contacted their customer service, and their only reply was just a standard copy and paste reply that it's not their fault, and they would send another for $3. They actually expect me to pay more money for their overpriced product. I'm pretty sure these screen protectors aren't even worth that much.
TLDR; Don't buy Clarivue Screen protectors. Opt for the cheap ones. They also have horrible customer service.
/endrant
I am using the clarvue and had no issues. Nor did I use the wet wipe to clean it. I simply used a paper towel and some rubbing alcohol to clean the screen then followed up with a microfiber towel to wipe away any dust particles. Went on easy and any bubbles were easily removed by applying some pressure to the screenguard with a papertowel and pressing toward the nearest side.
These are very high quality and easy to apply. My opinion is your problems were due to user error. No reason to bash a company about their product because you didn't know how to properly apply it.
People always ask what kind of screen protector I have. Clarivue rocks!
I have stuck Seidio for all of my EVO and now 3VO needs and you cant go wrong, thier crystle clear screen protectors are thin protect really well and they don't cost that much. 9.99 on Seidio.com
I ended up with a hairline scratch on mine also after a day or 2. I can say that I will not be getting another. My Zagg on my 4g held up forever and I am rough on my phones. I think I'll get another of those.
Sent from my Xoom using XDA Premium App
I have the clarivue, I got it on without any bubbles... you put it on while you're taking the backing off.... the backing is folded between the screen and the cover.... it goes on smoothly, so long as the screen is clean.
As fr the Zagg's, they are tough, but too sticky for me. I use them on non touch screens.
That's all your fault really. (Except the one wipe.) I messed up while installing mine just as you described, so I took it off, rinsed it under some water and cleared a small piece of dust that attached to it. I put it back on, took my credit card to it to clear bubbles, wiped it dry and shiny. Tough luck!
Sent From My HTC Evo 3D Using Tapatalk On The Now Network From Sprint!
I'm sorry, but, I don't see how that is their fault either? You think the company should supply an endless amount until you finally get on installed perfectly?
If they mailed out replacements for free then the pricing would increase even higher. Thus leading to people who can follow instructions to have to pay for the people who cannot. Sounds like you are socialist. Go post this on a socialist forum.

I had one of the Halo screen protectors on my EVO 4G. No issues with it whatsoever and was a quarter of the price. The lackluster customer service is the only thing that irked me in the whole process. I have no issue stomaching a $13 loss, I just expect better customer service. The CSR's name was Nina, and was not helpful at all!

What did you want their CSR to do for you? You said it yourself they were willing to give you another one for $3. That is 75% off the original price. If that is not good customer service, I don't know what is.
If the item had been defective, then I'd expect them to send you some for free. But that clearly is not the case. The product is fine, the instructions are clear, and they even offer you video instructions on their website.
Sounds to me like the only thing that would make you happy is if they gave you another set for free. That is a wrong way to look at it since the reason the product failed is your inability to apply it correctly.
For those who are interested in buying these, today only you can get some good savings.
Code "clear630" takes 10% off. (this code expires today!)
Code "clarivue1210" takes 10% off. (expires December 10, 2011)
Additionally, buying 3 products takes another 10% off. If you are concerned with the OP's post, they have a package of additional wipes for $9.99 (15 wipes):
http://www.clarivue.com/pre-moistened-cleaning-tissue-pack.html
I ended up paying $10.39 for a pack of two ultra clears for my 3D. I thought about getting 3 packs which would have been $27 or so, but didn't deem it necessary. I have heard very positive reviews for these protectors... we'll see how they go when I get them in a few days.
Clarivue is now offering 25% off over the Holiday weekend(7/1-7/4). 10% code "clarivue1210" cannot be stacked with this 25% but the buy 3 or more product 10% promo does stack for a total of 35% off!
IMO, processing time is slow for something you can just stick in an envelope. I ordered Friday 6/24 at 1pm and received a USPS tracking # immediately but the post office didn't receive the package until Wednesday 6/29 at 11pm. It's supposed to be delivered today, a full week later. It took 3.5 business days for Clarivue to process and only 2 business days for USPS to ship, from west to east coast!
Oh well, tpu case and gorilla glass means my evo 3d to still in perfect condition. I might not even need the screen protector now! But the other 2 evo's on my account are not as careful with their phones as I am so they'll need the protectors.
Per these reviews, I just ordered the Clarivue Ultra Clear protectors. Awesome 25% slae - $9.73 total for a pack - win!
Looking forward to giving them a test drive.
Yeah they seem to be pretty good quality. I ordered mine on 6/22 and didn't receive them until 6/29. I also ordered the one from Seidio, but since it got here first, I put it on my phone. Now I have the Clarivue laying around as backup in case something happens to my Seidio. Just ordered Clarivue for my girlfriend's new iPhone 4 though!

I had the seidio for my evo4g. I'm in construction and it lasted a year! For me that's good. Sand, drywall dust, concrete. Very small scratches but well worth it. Says its hardness is 3h. Who else says that? No one.
enjoying my EVO 3D. But root would be nice.
In my opinion, Screen Guard are the best screen protectors, in terms of ease of application, clarity and smoothness. At this price, you can't beat it too. Here is a link to eBay where I ordered them from. Very pleased with the quality!

I have always used Clarivue on my CPs because of ease of installation. Its not bullet-proof but it does the job.
I'd rather get the scratch on the Clarivue than on the touchscreen.

Galaxy S9 Screen Protector Options

Hi everyone, wanted to start to get some people’s opinions on screen protector options for the S9. As I understand it, the options are as follows:
1) TPU Wet Application
2) TPU Dry Application,
3) Dot Matrix Glass
4) 3D Curved Full Adhesive Glass
I know that the 3D Curved one would be the best option – Zagg’s protectors are usually great, but expensive. Hopefully we can find a quality option before the phones ship. If anyone has any information, or good experience with a particular company, please leave a comment! I’ll try to update this OP as often as I can, after we’re able to confirm which protectors are good or bad.
I would be waiting for the device to come out and for some reviews to be published before I decide. I would love if there were a good 3D curved screen protector

I'm working for Whitestone Dome glass, member of SMAPP(Samsung Mobile Accessory Partner Program) in screen protector.
I think the above question is very professional and good guide to choose best one for S9!!! I think Option 4 is the best in performance without any doubts. One suggestion is, it would be better if adding one more option ; "5) 3D Curved Full Adhesive Glass(without colored rim)", because most of current products in option 4 are with "colored rim", having some restrictions in performance. They partly block the viewing area, especially side menu bar in case of Galaxy series such as S8, Note8 and S9. (you can even see two lines, annoying your vision if you watch it from the side).
Whitestone Dome Glass is full adhesion of course, but doesn't have any colored rim, thanks to LOCA patent technology(applying liquid adhesive, curing it with UV light), totally different from current "Taping" method of the others. There're already many discussions about us in forums for S8 and Note8. Preorder for Dome glass of S9 in online stores already started together with S9 unpack. We do run review program. Most welcome your participation and you can contact us in our homepage. Hoping that the above information should be helpful... Thanks

ZAGG has also released a full coverage, full adhesive glass screen protector (Zagg Elite) that works great for the S8 Plus and Note 8 and are also now selling it for the S9 and S9 Plus. I have used it on my Note 8 and am very pleased with the results. I also found a full glass glass adhesive from EYEO2 on amazon - they offer a package that includes 2 glass screen protectos for about 26 bucks (or 13 per screen protector) and it also works exceptionally well. no "ghosting" aroudn the edges, full screen coverage, full adhesive. The nice thing about EYEO2 and the ZAGG Elite Glass screen protectors - No liquid that can get all over your phone during installation and no UV Light for installation. Both offer replacement warrenties too.
I know many users rave about the Whitestone Screen Protectors and I am glad it worked for them - personally, I tried it once and installation was a mess. I must have done something wrong, but I ended up with liquid all over my phone that I ended up having to clean up...after that fiasco, the glass I had tried to install wouldn't stick - and I ended up with a bunch of crap under the glass - I ended up throwing the screen protector away. 50 bucks down the drain.
Here are also some affordable cases and covers for Samsung Galaxy S9 I was reading about. Some of these are okay for normal day to day use. I am currently using S8 with clear view cover but thinking of upgrading to S9 after some time. Hopefully I get some good cover option by then.
https://www.thenerdmag.com/best-samsung-galaxy-s9-cases-protectors-covers/
P.S: I don't personally like covers on S8. They just makes phone look dull.
Option 3: Otao Glass Screen Protector for S9 [installation tray]
Otao has released full coverage screen protector for S9 and it belongs option 3, it is a 3D curved tempered glass with installation tray. With installation tray, you can image how easy and fast to apply it on your phone. There is also one option for S9 from Otao, not full coverage but 3D curved one. which makes it compatible with almost cases. Both price are affordble and reasonable. Everybody can try.
The White Stone Dome Glass is expensive $50 and if you don't install it correctly you get two chances but if you mess it up you have to file a warranty claim, send the old one back at your expense $5 and pay $15 for the replacement then wait 4-6 weeks to receive the new one. Been there done that so after 4 attempts it went in the trash along with $70. Mine continued to have fine looking crystals in the glue just as it was about to seal. If your's does that do NOT use the UV light or you'll never get it installed
I also tried the Otao which is NOT full adhesion and mine kept falling off when I would sit it down or take it out of my pocket but they're cheap and you can buy 5 for the price of 1 White Stone dome glass

First of all, I'm sorry for your unhappy experience with our product. I'd like to ask you to try CS cantact in homepage or warranty replacement program, if you don't mind it. Or you can sign up for our review program for S9.
Thanks to your information, I looked up those products you mentioned and found out they're different variations in category 4, still having colored rims around. I don't want to be rude with other brands, so let me put it this way. If it is full adhesion, why do they still need to apply colored rim on the edge? What does it serve? And Why did we have to develop LOCA(Liquid Optically Clear Adhesive) technology, even supplying UV curng machine together? Because there must be significant variance in curvature of glass(which is natural when they use heat to vend glass), it goes to cover glass of device. Of course, screen protector as well. Current "OCA Taping" technology cannot cope with this physical limitation, even though they mignt meet your expectation to curtain digree.
We first do focus on performance as a screen protector for curved mobile device, which are eventually premium products and future main stream. So far we're only one product in cat. 5(3D Curved Full Adhesive Glass w/o colored rims). By the way, regarding "liquid overflow" thing, we put liquid 5% more than average of variance. We made decision some overflow is better than not fully covering the surface, while the liquid doesn't do any harm to device. It's bothering, but paying off.
I was trying to make simple opinion, but actually it's not that simple to those who are very concerned about protecting device. We're sharing the related information in our own media such as homepage, twitter, facebook, youtube and etc. You can easily find out reviews and recommendations of customers on online space. Now we do have many fans fortunately. Why don't you listen their voice? Thanks

I have pre-ordered my Whitestone Dome from Mobile Fun UK (where I bought the same product for my S8). They have a France website where you can get the product delivered: https://www.mobilefun.fr/protection-d-ecran-samsung-galaxy-s9-whitestone-dome-glass-full-cover-66100
They seem to be the main supplier in Europe and Australia.
By the way, my experience with the product on the S8 was fantastic. I was able to apply it much more easily than cheaper models and it looks great.

I have the Zagg Elite on my Note 8 and the EYEO2 on my S8 Plus. I do not have any issues with rings around the screen protector - they look awesome - and are as good as the old glass screen protetors made for flat phones that I used to use.
The plastic ring you refer to - I think you are talking about the guide. This is used to assist in placing the glass on the phone. They are designed to help you get the glass centererd in exactly the right position - placement on the screen is the number one most important thing to insure the glass fits properly and doesnt end up to far on one side or another.
Look - all I am saying is that there was a time that Very few glass screen protecors worked well - but I personally believe that today, there are a few that work exceptoinally well - and one of them doesn't cost an arm and a leg either. Whitestone may be a good screen protector for some - but for those that don't want the hassel - the possible mess - there is an alternative that works very well and looks awesome.
We can leave it there - no need to respond to this. I know you are just trying to sell your product but honestly, this is not the place to do that.

I used the Whitestone on my S8+ and I currently have it on my Note 8. If you take the time to watch the videos and read on how to install, you shouldn't have any problems. I was able to apply both the first time sucessfully. I think they may be refining the process because on the Note 8, I had to tip the holder in order to get the glue to start moving, and then drop the glass when it got to a certain point. Certainly different that I'm used to, but the results came out great.
I've already ordered the S9+ version, and I expect it to work great, as well.
There's two or three different types out there. One actually give you some blue tape to place over the speaker grille but mine did not have it. Hit or miss for a lot of people on installation plus they have like 4 different videos so it will confuse some.
Just make sure your s9 screen are proper and not like the Galaxy s8 screen that didn't fit, or fitted one side and other side air bubbles started forming. I will wait for few weeks till you get some good reviews on screen, and buy a case for now with a lip to keep the phone protected.

thanks for your answers. i have order it on amazon uk. i see your message too late. less price on mobile fun.

It cannot be confirmed yet because it's not tested yet. But I could give you some references.
As a member of SMAPP(Samsung Mobile Accessory Partnership Program), we already cheched compatibility with Samsung branded official cases. We can confirm Dome glass is compatible with them except VR, which needs difference shape of glass.
Glass size for Domeglass S9 is 65.5 x 142.14mm so that we recommend inner size of case should be 67.0 x 143.7mm. It's not easy to measure, though. So maybe Famous Youtuber, GraveX's review for Note8 could be a good reference ; he confirmed in his Youtube compatibility with Spigen case, tested by himself ; Tough Armor, SlimArmor, Rgged Armor, Neo Hybrid, Ultra Hybrid, Liquid Air.
The principle of designing Dome glass size is it has to be bigger than viewable area, as much as possible. Given that, compatibility is fully considered. Unless case covers viewable area like some rugged armour style, it's compatible with majority of well known cases. You should make sure it in advance anayway. Tks

Be prepared to pay a premium for this in Australia... I know I did when I originally purchased it for the Note8.

Cracked glass repair

I dropped my tablet and cracked the glass on the display. Besides the crack in the outer glass, the display and touch input both work just fine.
I've noticed replacement glass on Amazon for about twenty bucks. A local repair place says that doesn't do the job; the display needs to go to a place that can refurbish the display and laminate new glass, at a cost of about $175 USD, with another $110 for the shop to remove and replace the display.
Is this legit? If it really is that complicated, does anybody know of a reliable shop that will just do the whole job my mail, hopefully for less money?
Thanks.

Your better of selling the tablet and taking the hit and pick up a new one, as it's a huge job replacing the glass only!
Also, the screens alone are £300+ and you can't get any local shop to replace the glass only, as you need specialist tools it's no small task but if you’re looking to repair it, the quote you been quoted is pretty fair!
I know it’s too late but why on earth didn’t you purchase a case for your tablet? I’ve got the supcase on my Tab S6 LTE amount of times mine has gone flying across the room I would have had a shattered display and shattered rear glass but thanks to the case not a mark or crack!

I have a case. It was a hard drop.

Sorry for you. In case it is only a single crack - have you thought of only putting a protective glass above it? That way it is sealed and might be less visible. Maybe you want to share a picture.

The crack is almost invisible and I can't even feel it, but it's annoying that it happened. A local repair shop is sending the screen in for refurbishing when they have several orders lined up.

UPDATE: Sending it directly to Samsung turned out to be the best option. It was a total of $280, including an upgrade to two day shipping.
I dropped it off at UPS on Friday, it was received on Tuesday, and I got a notice that the repair was completed today (Thursday, Christmas Eve). Even with holiday delays, I should have it early next week.
At that rate, it's about the same price as a year of carrier insurance + deductible.
