HTCdev Unlock Bootloader question - HTC EVO 3D

I used the Unlock Bootloader on my Evo 3D CDMA Sprint process completes 'successfully' but fastboot screen says unlocked & S-ON. I have version 1.58.0000 on ICS 4.03. Isn't this process supposed to give me S-OFF as well?

No, you need to do the wire trick for s off

Pls check your hboot before, if you are a very lucky guy you could got hboot 08
To check hboot, shut down your phone complelty:
- uncheck fastboot in settings->power and power off your device
- are just pull the battery ^^
Now press volume up, hold it and press the power button and hold it too.
Wait a few secs and on ht second line should be your hboot version.
if it's 08 at the end, come back here or google "Revolutionary.io"
I got EVO 3d from Rogers and I had the 1.49.0008 bootloader so you should be able to get full s off and root

RELOCKED bootloader

Hello
I made on your phone with hboot 1.49.00018 downgrade through HTCdev
I then made through the revolutionary S-OFF
I then recorded the RUU and choose FastBoot oem writesecureflag 3 gave the phone to the state S-ON
but on my screen instead LOCKED light RELOCKED
how to achieve it again to be on display LOCKED??
Not possible to change this again. Wrong section by the way...
Sent from my HTC EVO 3D
IF U Unlock it. then relock it.it will change to Relocked....no way to get it to Locked @NOW
I may have a way if your prepared to try it as something strange happened to mine using HTC supertool

Don't know if it'll work across carriers, but I used revolutionary for s-off and bootloader unlock then renamed and flashed a zip from one of these threads. Bootloader changed back to locked, didn't say relocked.

I agree..
But anyway, back on topic.
The phone came LOCKED.
once you Unlock it, you can only RELOCK it.
There's no way to completely lock it again unless you use a goofy method or you send it back to HTC for a complete flash.
I would love to know what that goofy method is so my insurance claims don't get denied.

Insurance can't get denied because of it. However, warranty can be denied but the chances of Sprint actually checking on this are very slim.
Basically, send it to Sprint for warranty if it isn't an actual insurance claim.

I'm not that familiar with the Evo V, but you might want to check the sticky threads in this forum.
Good luck!
P.S. Questions are supposed to be posted in the Q&A forum.

Choosing all supported devices will work fine.
The Evo V is essentially the Evo 3D CDMA.
There's only a few slight differences..
It shouldn't brick the phone, as long as you DO NOT flash a GSM file on it.

You can seriously choose any device & get your unlock token.
The only reason it asks you to choose the device is because a few devices need to update the bootloader before unlock.
The pages & the process is the same for all devices.
It doesn't matter what phone you choose.
You will not get an unlock token unless the phone meets all requirements anyway.
The identifier token is used to identify your device & it's type, so, the unlock token you get will be the perfect one needed to unlock your device.
So, just choose all supported devices & go ahead.

[Q] Is the Virgin Mobile Evo the 3D or V?

I've recently gone through hell trying to root and install ROMs on my friend's HTC Evo for Virgin Mobile. Something I just noticed is that it seems the 3D and V are two variants of the same phone. Is the V the only version of the Evo on Virgin Mobile? If so, does this mean I should look for ROMs/root guides specifically for the V or should the 3D guides be exactly the same? The bootloader shows it as shooter, which means it's a CDMA 3D, but everything referring to Virgin Mobile shows the phone as the V. Can someone clear this up?
The virgin mobile variant of the 3d is the Evo V, only use ROMs from the CDMA dev thread or you will get bootloops

Thanks. I've had a huge headache with my friend's Evo. It got stuck in a bootloop not because I'm not using CDMA ROMs, but because I can't find any ROMs that work with hboot 1.58. And any RUU I use tells me the hboot it's attempting to install is an older version and the update fails, so it's a real mess.
