Try to install CWM by following this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2332783 (see step 16)
You can install CWM through fastboot, so it's not needed for the device to be on.
If you succed, download the Vodafone Smart 3 Stock ROM (non NFC) from here: https://www.mediafire.com/?g3tmcs86lxqj8u7 and flash it through CWM. It's a rooted (with busybox) version of the official stock rom.
Good luck!
EDIT: I’m not 100% sure that the flashable stock rom works since i never tried it, but you can still try, you got nothing to lose. Make sure you flash it with full wipes.

The boot.img was in stock rom’s zipfile. I tested that one just a few minutes ago and all seemed to be working (the boot.img). You can use SP Flash Tool to flash stuff like this. Anyway, good thing you have your phone again

Hi guys,i'm new to this forum and i have a problem with ACE s5830,i installed the firmware 2.3.3 GINGERBREAD XXKPE EUROPE (i FROYO 2.2.1 ITALIAN),so good, the ACE works well and much more responsive, but i realized that no longer goes into recovery mode so i can not install zip packages, when i feel the sequence ACE the middle button+power turns on and goes into recovery, solutions? Thanks to those who can help me(sorry for my bad english).
There Is A Software Called Boot Control.. mind u its works as a widget so install in on ur phone memory and go to Widget -> Boot Control
search it in the market
Also Quick Boot application works for SGA...
these applications require root, because I do not have it, I just need to go through recovery to take root update zip?
Just press and hold home+power on until you see Samsung on the screen... it has to be accessible whatever you did with your phone...

Unfortunately I tried many times, does not work, but I do not understand why does the download and instead the recovery mode no, I did the flash as it was described here at XDA, I do not understand why, maybe the firmware XXKPE did this? Should I try to flash again, or better not? Or is there no way to make the root install other zip recovey?
Install VillainROM and you will have 2.3.3 with root, zipalign and deodex at the same time...

But besides the fact that this Rom installed, there is a way to unlock the recovery? (thanks to those who have tried to help in some way.)
Sorry guys you break the boxes the last time, have mercy, the recovery could be blocked because when I flashed the KPE was flagged DEBUG USB? And if I tried to flash again you can, or should not? If you have to flash just like the first time (OPS, APBOOT, PHONE, PDA, CSC?)

Hello Fellow XDA'ers
Today i started rooting my SGS II with CF-TOOL for XWKK2 and that worked. secondly i tried to add a theme from here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1131746 so i installed it by recovery mode. i started up my phone again and it says cant load TW.Launcher.Connect or something. I was like oh. so i tried to put on a new theme from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1154278 and now it sticks on this screen: http://www.google.nl/imgres?q=how+to+see+galaxy+s2+root+check&start=406&um=1&hl=nl&sa=N&tbm=isch&tbnid=LrkiHyngL3wLOM:&imgrefurl=http://www.elakiri.lk/forum/showthread.php%3Ft%3D1217605&docid=syBKpqoQsy7huM&imgurl=http://recenthottestnews.info/wp-content/plugins/RSSPoster_PRO/cache/d8dfa_rootingsgs5.jpg&w=620&h=465&ei=UqUZT7buH8Gh-QauvbWhCg&zoom=1&chk=sbg&iact=rc&dur=1721&sig=108334096676297027967&page=12&tbnh=179&tbnw=210&ndsp=37&ved=1t:429,r:8,s:406&tx=67&ty=66&biw=1647&bih=928

The first link modifies a whole heap of files, and the second one modifies far less files but also doesn't have a version for stock (odexed) KK2. What did you flash from the second one?
Anyway, what I'm trying to get at is that they're not really comparable.
Easiest way to get back to a working state is to reflash your ROM or restore a nandroid backup if you took one. Messing around with trying to undo whatever you did might take a while.
Well i tried to install the theme throught recovery mode and now it stops there however i can get in download mode and recovery mode. I hope you got some more information for me so i can fix this
thanks for replying anyway

1) With rooting u also on stock firmware and not on Rom, which for theme is
2) Ur second link is for JKay Deluxe and this isn't a theme like u think, it's a modification tool for notificationbar, lockscreen and Power-off menu.
3) This screen is the normal bootscreen after flash (sign because not originally firmware [root])
I don't know how long u wait, but after flashing the JKay .zip it's normal that boot take some time (up to 3 min).
If u already wait so long an didn't boot u have to choices:
1) Flash original firmware again.
Search here and flash this like root via odin (READ INSTRUCTION!):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278
2) Because cf-root u should have the CWM (ClockWorkMod).
- Go into Recovery Menu (Press Vol- ; Home and the Powerbutton 'til Logo like in third link appears)
- Then Choose Factory reset and after this make a reboot
If system isn't crashed in all u should get it work again, if not u have to choose point one.
If works u can choose a rom from here (like one u see in my signature), copy file on sd card and flash it via CWM (Go again in CWM and then "choose .zip from internal sd card">"flash .zip from internal sd card">then select .zip)
Much success. If anything unclear just let me know...

[Q] Motorola Atrix MB861 problems after installing AOKP + Aroma Installer

I just installed this AOKP+Aroma Installer ROM from this page: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1580449
And I have NEVER been able to get past the Start-Up screen. It reboots every 30 seconds from the moment I press "Start". Is anybody else having this problem with this ROM as well?
I'm using a Korean Atrix btw, MB861. I would REALLY appreciate the help!
EDIT: Okay, so I've gotten past the start-up screen by skipping everything (setting up time, Google account, etc.) and now I got to the lock screen. Now, if I don't touch the phone at all, it stays on. But once I try to unlock the phone, it is 100% SURE to reboot 30 seconds right after I unlock it. Is there no workaround for this??

I hope you do not mind so many questions ... lol
you have to do a "format / system" is needed .... (in recovery).
then you'll probably lose touch in recovery, proceed with the installation aroma ...
up / down = volume
enter = power button
= capacitive return any key.

ok .... then try fastboot wipe (it worked for some users).
I get this also with all ics roms but im having bp problems that are probably causing that.. nottach 1.3.1 and darkside stripped down are only reliable, stable roms I can run personally... and even those its only in boot android bp pass mode. Cold boot linux.

In AROMA set Full Wipe, and try to install only one Launcher, and take a look Kernels screen, check your Kernel and select the correct, i think you are trying some FauxKernel try original 1100 or your kernel...
I've tried installing all three of Joker's kernels (1.0, 1.3, 1.45) and still my Atrix goes haywire. I've tried all kinds of installs (Default, Custom, Full Wipe, Non Wipe, etc.) but none have worked. I wanted this ICS ROM so bad! Is there anything I have to do before I flash this ROM again? I've flashed it maybe 10 times or so now.
Which is your Kernel? Try the oders, the firsts 4 Kernels, like 1100 and others, stock kernels.
I don't know if I want to try installing another kernel, because I don't want to brick my Atrix. I've tried looking for kernels that were made for AOKP, but to no avail. Maybe you could give me a link to a good kernel that will work for AOKP? It's been half a day, and I still haven't been able to use my device...
EDIT: I also noticed that I don't have any service, and the backlights for the softkeys aren't lighting up. So I now have three things to deal with: constant reboot, no service, and softkeys backlights.
you can install rom joker?
I haven't tried installing other ROMs... Do you mean this one? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1445052 I'll be downloading and installing it ASAP. I hope the problem goes away.

I wasn't able to download Joker's ROM, however, I have tried other ROMs, namely Neutrino and the Official CM7 for Atrix. I noticed one thing that both ROMs worked properly, but they didn't have Google Apps pre-installed, so I had to get and install Gapps separately. Then, when I installed the Gapps, that's when the rebooting problem started again. I think my problem has something to do with Google Apps...
I have similar problem when I did install the AOKP from for the first time. It become unstable. I did fastboot to flash the wrapped the phone and install again with (current version is 37a) and it's become quite stable now.

Problem is fixed!... For now.
I was doing a LOT of research today, and I found some info about rebooting Atrixes which involved radios. I studied this, and I found out that by flashing the correct radio file, I could potentially solve this issue. I just flashed this radio: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1260963 and the issue seems to be fixed. I am currently on this ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1257574 and so far, the phone has been smooth as butter! I have yet to try with AOKP. I am going to report as soon as possible regarding this ROM. But so far, everything is A-OK! Thanks for all the help, everybody! You have all been very helpful!

stay calm its not that easy to completly brick your z ultra
search for fastboot and a guide for flashing kernel.
use e.g. the boot.img from your current rom.
enter recovery and flash a rom again!
there are a lot of good step by step guides so its easy.
more infoand another question.
The power button plus volume up trick didnt work, had to let the battery drain out. and i am currently running running pacman 4.4.2. rom and the kernel i flashed was revolutionkernel. after some more reading which i should have done earlier im pretty sure that that kernel was meant for aosp and c11 based roms. i have a different kernel, slimkat this time, i want to flash it and give it a shot but this downloaded as a .zip. how do i do this? the other one was just a .img and that was it. im sorry if these are dumb questions. ive been rooting and putting custom roms on phones for a while but im new to kernels.
red button to power off
you also have a tiny red button to power off the device if you open the lash for the sd card.
flash the same way as you flash a rom.

so far ive tried two other roms, slimkat, and codename lungo. with three different kernels, revolution, pimped kernel, and slimkat kernel. the farthest i got was to get my phone to boot up but it keeps showing an error msg saying android system has stopped, and i cant get past that. You need to extract the boot.img that's in the Lungo Rom zip file. Fastboot it using Flashtool or adb push it. Flashtool will be the easiest way. Once you get that on there try to enter recovery BEFORE the Rom boots from power on. If you can't enter recovery then that Rom doesn't have recovery built in. In that case you'll need to get it from somewhere. The Carbon Rom has a boot.img with working dual recovery and you should be able to use that one to boot Lungo as they are all CM based Roms.
Also when stuck with the PHONE ON and need it turned OFF. Press and Hold Volume Up + Power Button until the phone vibrates 3 times. Make sure it's not plugged in or it'll boot again. If holding those buttons doesn't turn it off, you're doing it wrong because it works without fail. Little something Sony put in there. If all else fails, open the cover of the SDCARD/SIMCARD sport and there should be a small Red Button.
Good luck.
Also note that all the roms flash their own kernel when you 9nstall them, use that first, then play when you knpw that thingsmwork. It sounds like you are trying to do too much for your current understanding.

4.4.2 can not be rooted (proper permanent root) !
You will have to install stock JB (4.1.2) via .kdz , then root, install CWM recovery, update or flash to stock KK (4.4.2), and then from recovery to root agin.
All you need is in this threads first page:

1 - flash old rom (OFFICIAL) via kdz flasher
2 - root - Cydia impactor http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2448085
3 - install recovery - CWM Recovery for example http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2652201
//the hole point so far is so u have a custom recovery so that u can "force install/patch" the root
4 - flash 4.4.2 kdz / or update via normal ways (LG update from phone, or from LG PC Suite )
5 - enter CWM Recovery, and apply the root for 4.4.2 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2754633
And u are done !
The phone cant be hardbriked (from what i know, and most moder phones cant be hardbiricked). If u softbreak it, try the steps where it crashed, untill will work. (i had to try to install the kdz 20 times - i belive i had some cable/power issues with the pc). Also, do all this with the phone battery fully charged !!! (in case it does go wrong, u have enough hours of battery left to make it work)
Please, can you post me which specifically ROMs I should download? I'm a bit lost in ROMs.

Download links work fine for me !
U can download czech or any country, doesn't matter.
After u install the .kdz, u must reset the phone (it formats the cache , davlik, data, etc....) (when u put 20A again, all the original user data was intact, because the phone was not reseted).
http://www.hard-reset.com/lg-optimus-l9-ii-d605-hard-reset.html ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YkzJlLY3T1k )
After u install the CWM you will be able to clear cashe, data, etc .. from the CWM Recovery menu.
A bit of reading the forums, wouldn't hurt either .....
edit: also note that the first boot takes a lot of time .... if it is more than 20 minutes than something went wrong. Try a few times to be sure, and then reinstall.
Sure, I have read it, but now I have problem with booting. I reinstall it several times, but the logo of LG is there for a long time ( sound and animation are repeated) - I left it maybe 5 min (could not be turned off - only remove battery), when it didn´t work, aj flashed again v20. So I am going to try it once again with czech kdz and leave it more time. I will prey

Again, you dont need the cz .kdz ! Use the one u got. After the kdz flasher finishes, RESET the phone! That is the "magic" step!

I know, I dont need, but I had already downloaded it. Now, it is working, Thanks a lot!
Sorry for that, but how to get into recovery? I did all, but when I update on 4.4.2, I cannot get to recovery. I tried from terminal (nothing) and app called reboot recovery (it reported, I need root) and manualy (vol+ and power) also didnt work. Before update everything worked (on old kdz).

[Q] How to boot to CWM without root?
[A]
1. Reinsert battery
2. Hold Power+Vol Up+Home for about ten seconds a white text appears, that says "Release all buttons" you have 500ms time if it reboots start from step 1 again.
YOU HAVE TO BE VERY EXACT! (If you once installed CWM you have it even when you flashed KK .zip)
or activate in settings, developer options, and then usb debugging. Connect with the pc and issue the command from there. I dont know the exact command, u shuld read the forum thread above... i belive is there (not sure). Anyway on this, google is a good friend.

Everything is very nicely explained only one thing I don't understand. In order to install cm11, do I need to have root on 4.4.2 or can I flash the rom from rooted JB with CMW(to skip step 4 and 5 or is it necessary)? I hope you understand what I wanna ask. Thanks!

Once u got CWM installed, u dont care about anything else. So yes, after root on JB, and then CWM, you can install cm11 or what ever u want.

hello,
to thank colleagues for advice and links to topics
I am surprised that no one gave link on the forum:
http://forum.android.com.pl/f1211/root-stock-recovery-4-4-2-a-439890/
where there is already some time given way to root the firmware that runs on v20a and v20d to him to write it on v20d at the moment there is only one method specified on the Polish forum, greet and welcome to
