(Splash Screens) originally designed for the HTC one, working with one max - HTC One Max

Hello
Been playing with these splash screens for the HTC one and they all flash via recovery and fit perfectly.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2324746
Asked ielvis if I could post a thread for these in our forum. He said it was fine although he wouldn't garauntee they would work.
I spent most of last night downloading them all and flashing them just to make sure they would work.
I just think the prerequisites are rooted and s-off and then flash via recovery
Obviously make a backup first and flash away.
This is the link to his forum thread but they work on our device as well
All credit goes to ielvis and thanks to him for allowing this

How can you tell of these will work for the Verizon version? Is it bootloader specific etc

Thanks a lot for posting and trying out!

All One Max have same screen dpi and are directly proportional to One screen. Will work across all variants.

A just a quick one. The recovery themes for the twrp recovery seem to be fairly standard as well. I've used a theme from the HTC one with the same resolution. The only thing you have to be careful of is making sure it's just the theme you use and not flash a bundled recovery with theme. Else you will end up with the wrong recovery.

[Q] TWRP or CWM Recocery?

I have TWRP 2.0 on my Evo 3D. I'm new to rooting and have yet to use CWM recovery. Can anyone explain what is the difference and why it would be better to use one over the other. I do really like the touch interface of TWRP. Thanks.
At this point it's more of personal preference than features.
I'm also on TWRP 2.0 and if it ain't broke, I'm not fixin' it.
What freeza said. I personally, had issues with TWRP2 & went back to TWRP 1. CWM works well too but not the touch version from what i hear (havent tried it yet)

Thanks. I haven't had any problems with TWRP at all so maybe I'll stick with it. Just didn't know if there were features in CWM that I was missing.
as long as it wipes & flashes everything right, i'd stick with what you got.
TWRP all the way. No issues so far.
I like twrp so far had both and twrp is real nice imo.

this is pretty much how i am.
and i have never had a problem with either one so i can't really say. i was on CWM when i first rooted back in july, switched to the updated TWRP (not touch) and only did it because it had features that i thought would make using recovery a little more convenient like flashing multiple zips at once, etc, and because scott was nice enough to zip it up for us to flash through boot loader. quick and painless for us 1.4 users.
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions &

Moving to Q&A
I'm Hboot 1.5 and liked the CWM touch and the fact that its integrated into Rom Manager, but I also like the TWRP and the ability to pick as many zips as I want before flashing. Add FlashImageGUI.apk to either of these and I no longer care about s-off. My vote is for TWRP
I like twrp 2.0 because its touch screen controlled and it does everything faster.

thats for sure!! last time i tryed cwm i thought something was wrong when i was flashing stuff because it took sooo long.. twrp is much faster i think..
does twrp have the charging bug ?
I think it is not a matter of which is best, but some devs install scripts will not work for CMW touch or TWRP 2+. I use TWRP 1.1.1 but recommend asking the dev what he uses.
i just tryed twrp 1.1.1 and every time i try and flash a kernel it wont let me??? thats why i always come back to twrp 2.0..

HTC one X+ HORROR STORY!

First of all new member :] got this on a contract in the uk with Vodafone only carrier that had this in stock, and today silly me thought yeah ill root it to get teh max out of the Tegra chip, bad idea.
I have searched for about 6 hours now to try and find a way to flash it back it gets to the HTC logo and goes off i can get into the fast boot menu and have cleared the cache and tried again no luck, i cant find the right ROM for it because its quite a new phone and all the searches bring back how to root the ONE X not the +, so if anyone has a direct link to the HTC ONE X+ Vodafone UK ROM ver 1.14.401.16 i was trying to find it.
Now i am here to tell my horror story for anyone else with this phone from this carrier if it gets to the fast boot menu re lock it clear your cache and update through the .EXE from this DL
<there was a URL for the (icxperia.com/jonny/RUU/HTC%20One%20X+%201.14.401.13/)
this one worked for me and saved me alot of confusion.
so my next question after nearly destroying my brand new phone :] is there a safe way to root this bad boy yet? yes i am probably really stupid but i will not be phased by this in the slightest and would love to try out that game boosting app as shadow gun likes to stutter a bit and its driving me crazy.
(I would like to thank everyone in the RECOVER FROM NEARLY EVERYTHING THREAD helped alot! and too whoever posted that original link for the ROM i owe you so much!)

You learnt a valuable lesson about making sure you read and understand procedures before undertaking them. You should now know that as you have a vodaphone branded device. You can only flash a Vodaphone UK branded RUU, so you need to make sure that before you try anything again you have a compatible backup rom! You are lucky, some carriers do not release there branded RUU's, so you could of ended up with a brick :victory:
As for rooting. You need to unlock bootloader using the HTC DEV site. Once your bootloader is unlocked, you can flash Lloirs custom recovery in the original android development forum. From there you can either flash a pre rooted custom rom, or flash a rooted update.zip and root your branded official rom.

If you extract the boot image, there is a member (can't spell his name off the top of my head) lol in the android development forum, who may be able to make you one of his rootboot methods. But now recovery is out, he may not be doing it anymore.

It's hard to believe Shadow Gun lags on the One X+ when I played the exact same game with a device with the Tegra chip clocked a lot slower than the One X+ and had zero lag.

ClockworkRecoveryMod is more compatible with ROMs and mods that they post on XDA. TWRP, I think that is the other recovery you are talking about, has a better UI and seems to have more functionality over CWR but sometimes, ROMs and Mods need to be patched from .zip's written for CWR. Hope this helps. This is just a general way of looking at it. I'm sure there is more info elsewhere. Oh, also, CWR is like the OG of recovery mods, and TWRP is like the other G but not the OG. Haha, and effects? Not sure what you mean by that but both do about the same thing.

For me the main difference is the ability to name and rename backups that TWRP has. You can't really go wrong, they're both REALLY nice recoveries on the DNA.
I use TWRP but have used CWM too, both devs are really active in recovery development and very qualified. My previous device, I would have told you one specific recovery you had to use until recently. There was one kind of recovery that just always worked and the others didn't.
That's not at all the case with the DNA, both recoveries available are excellent. I just happen to prefer TWRP because of the layout, the way you can check the partitions you want to wipe and then swipe to confirm and get em all at once. And it also lets you queues multiple zip files and when you press install it will do them all at once. And TWRP has some beautiful themes if that's important to you. I dont often theme recovery though because the stock one looks just fine.
does cm 10.1 require clockworkmod? it might not be the case anymore but i thought you needed clockworkmod auto update with cm?
TWRP is better : actual touchscreen support, great backups(compressable to save space) lots of options, good interface, allows "ota" style rom updates through goomanager

[Q] overclock kernel for CM.10.1.2.mdm04-fireball

I have not found another way to contact mdmower. I installed CM.10.1.2.mdm04-fireball on my htc dinc 4 and have not been able to find a overclock kernel that works well with it. I installed the faosp4.1 and the camera apps I use will not work correctly. Everything else will though. I have been using his CM builds and they work great for me. He even supplied OC builds within his posts but have yet to find one for CM.10.1.2. Thank You MDMOWER for all the hard work and I hope this finds you. Sorry if this was not the appropriate way but could not find another way to contact you. p.s. I have tried all the Infernal Kernels and have not found something that works good... thanks Christian

Question to Matt or whoever can I flash this through the bootloader by renaming it PJ53IMG and zipping it with proper txt.file just like splash screens and recoveries? I'm going to be out of town for awhile and it doesn't look like I'll be home anytime soon where I've started working for this new company we got endless AT&T cell tower upgrades ahead so looks like I'll be spending the next several months suspended in the sky on a tower. Also would like to know if I can flash boot.img the same way again I will have no access to a computer to fastboot anything.

The image I previously posted was a zImage, not a boot.img, so PJ53IMG method would not work. I updated Post 2 with boot images you guys are more familiar with, including a recovery installable image for S-OFF users.

FYI T Mobile rom works fine on ATT G2

Not responsible for damaged phones, use at your own risk!
I installed the Stock rooted T Mobile rom by Scrosler posted here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2459677
After flashing that rom from recovery, I used Scrosler Stock loki'd ATT boot img found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=45755689&postcount=3
After booting, you have to setup an ATT APN. I used this one found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=41717915&postcount=9
APN settings are found under System settings / tethering & networks / mobile networks / access point names / "menu soft key" new apn. Be sure to save when done.
After this you have a completely functioning T Mobile rom with theming for the home launcher on your ATT D800
Of course build prop will need to be changed to ATT settings, but will work as is.
Thanks to Scrosler for all the need files and his time to do this!
Edit, you can load the build prop from clean Rom 1.1 to get it back to ATT.

Does this also Enable tmobile aws hspa bands?
Not sure what issues Scrosler was having porting it over then. I think I'll wait for his port though, CleanROM is just running too well for me to make a change.

i might try this out myself. don't know what it does for the bands, but i unlocked my at&t G2 when i first got it and i've been able to get T-Mobile 4G and 4G LTE service with my T-Mobile SIM. coverage and speeds are not as good as at&t in a few spots.
@op - what other benefits (if any) have you seen with the T-Mobile ROM? thanks.
The roms are basically the same, however the T-Mobile Rom has launcher theming built in. Hopefully in the future this will help developers build for more than one carrier.

looks like you forgot step 2 in the original post (flash the att loki'd boot image). reboot to recovery using the hard keys (see this post for steps, copy the att loki'd boot image to your phone and flash with TWRP and you'll be good to go. or, you can restore your backup from TWRP (assuming you made a backup).
thank you so much I am back in to recovery and flashing my nandroid backup. I am going to give this another try but want to just clarify that I am doing it correctly. If I understand properly I need to flash the T Mobile firmware. where I need the clarification is do I just simply put the boot image as the second file to flash so that they flash one after another, instead of what I tried the first time which was to flash the firmware first then go back into recovery and then flash the boot image which is what screwed me up first time. Does this sound like I have it under control this time
Why did you do this? The only plus so far I see is you got rid of the att on the left top corner?

yes, that's what i did. flashed the ROM and the boot image one after the other.
good news!! I have the ROM up and running the only thing left to do is the new APN setting for AT&T but the file you indicate to use is the same exact file for step 2 am I missing something? Also if that is the right file do I just simply flash it like normal, or is there a different method to apply it? thanks again for all of your help sorry to be a pain in the butt

IM porting. This is not a porting. What I am doing is a but more complex than flashing another ROM and changing the boot image.

Nope, I can post a launcher later, I have them working fine on my AT&T G2 running CR 1.1
Also, just an FYI, you can use the Korean version and the Verizon version as well...
But on the Verizon version the kernel is built to read the sensors different and you will need to swap the kernel modules because of this.
Also, you can swap the APN file too before you flash and yo wont have to worry about APN's.
Just sayin....
Oh and one other thing...
I accidentally deleted the boot.img so maybe OP can upload it please?
Otherwise I will make a new version when I get home.
