Are you using any theme from your old rom? Did you a full wipe? Or clear the data from "themes provider" app & try again.

As always, you don't need a full. But don't report bugs if you don't do it

[DEV][psyke83] CyanogenMod 9 - Galaxy5 Port

CyanogenMod 9 Galaxy 5 Port [psyke83 build]
Latest release: 20120605 [v0.4] <--- learn what "RTFM" means before embarrassing yourself ಠ_ಠ
Latest Google Apps package: gapps-ics-small-20120429 <--- you must only use my custom "gapps-ics-small" package, as the standard releases will be too large to fit on our device. Don't try to use a gingerbread version either.
Hey folks,
This is a port of CyanogenMod 9, a community-developed Android ROM based on Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0.4, for the Samsung Galaxy 5 I5500 (Europa) phone. The current port status is alpha (not recommended for everyday use). See post #2 to see the most up-to-date ROM status.
Special thanks to Motafoca for starting CyanogenMod development, DrMacinyasha for the hosting, OuNao for the fake dual-touch module, sensor work and general assistance, mikereidis (author of Spirit FM Radio app) for helping with FM audio issues, tilal6991 for his work on CM9 for Huawei, alanorth for being a badass, and of course, thanks to all of you for testing!
Pre-requisites:
Visit the Basebands thread and make sure that you are using a baseband that is recommended for CyanogenMod. If you are still using an Eclair ROM, you must update your baseband or you will experience boot loops.
Visit the ClockworkMod thread and install the latest ClockworkMod build via Odin.
Install the GooManager or MAD Manager application from the Google Play store... or, download the ROM manually via PC using the link that you will find after RTFM'ing.
Installation (first time/new users):
Open the GooManager application.
Navigate to psyke83 -> roms -> galaxy5.
Click on the build you wish to install from the list.
Click on the Download button to download the rom.
Once the download(s) are complete, reboot into recovery and install the update package, followed by the Google Apps package.
Important: if you are updating from a stock ROM, CM7 or any other ROM that is not my personal CM9 build, choose the data wipe option before rebooting!
Latest Changelog:
20120605 [v0.4]
md5: 8d85095380f1106c883a86c2ea8fc457
Update CyanogenMod source
Switched to new kgsl driver & Adreno ICS libraries. This resolves the image corruption issues seen in v0.3, but the kernel drivers may not yet be fully stable. Needs more testing.
Basic camera functionality: preview & taking snapshots work properly. Barcode scanners show preview but do not recognise barcode. Camcorder preview works normally, but recorded video will be corrupt (due to encoders).
20120602 [v0.3] [rebuilt - check md5sum]
md5: 59e44aa9d0424d7835587556e3f4adb5
Update CyanogenMod source
Full HWA (hardware acceleration) enabled
Enable hardware acceleration support in Trebuchet
Enable "force GPU rendering" option by default (allows more apps to use HWA)
Fix & enable window & transition animations (1x) - now completely smooth
Fix a small bug caused by compcache that prevented userinit.d scripts (such as simple2ext) from executing
Ensure that userinit.d folder is created if needed
Adjust lockscreen layout so that the lockscreen weather widget doesn't cause lockscreen buttons to be obscured.
20120527 [v0.2]
md5: 1be4cbefec95259f292aeb5d4080d25d
Known issue: If simple2ext fails, it's because the /data/local/userinit.d folder doesn't exist. To workaround this issue, run su and then "madconfig blah" ("blah" doesn't really do anything, but by coincidence the madconfig script always creates the userinit.d folder when parsing any option).
Known issue: Apollo doesn't associate with .mp3 files properly yet. Install the old Music app (to /system/app or simply by installing as a user app): http://goo.im/devs/psyke83/roms/Music.apk
kernel: backported xt_quota2, xt_qtaguid, iface_stat drivers to allow proper networking stats and prevent recurring framework crashes
libaudio: fix for wrong microphone being used during calls, added audio attenuation support (enabled on speaker), added Samsung extamp filtering support to fix distortion in FM audio & headset in-call audio. Added new system property that lets users disable extamp filtering if wanted (no extamp filtering + 0db attenuation on speaker = identical audio volume to v0.1 release's audio)
boot: remove corrupted initlogo that was displayed before bootanim started (no longer needed)
framework: fixed cpu deep sleep issue that was caused by wakelock in hs serial device (Bluetooth quick switch) - should drastically improve battery life (may now be similar to CM7)
framework: optimizations to 2D rendering speed
framework: disable UI touch sounds (was just slowing down presses + increasing battery drain)
switch from old Music app to new Apollo music player
add VoiceDialer, SoundRecorder
Trebuchet: change drawer animation back to default (looks nicer, no change in performance)
fix simple2ext compatibility issue. Note: you will need to enable the "mount as ext4" option in the app settings, as CM9 does not auto-mount /sd-ext on boot.
wifi: change wpa_supplicant driver from wext to ar6000
increase VM heap to 32MB - should reduce ANRs
fix for keypad layout not following orientation changes
20120525 [v0.1]
md5: 530a2bc7a7a53d7ef0764561ba9675ad
Initial build, based on Huawei U8160 ICS source base.
Using codeaurora_gio2europa kernel (same source as CM7)
Confirmed working: 2D, 3D, wireless, BT & BT tether, touchscreen (including fake dual-touch), sensors, lights, SD card & mass storage, all telephony, audio, MAC addresses for BT & wireless, compcache, swap (disabled by default), GPS
Confirmed broken: camera/video recorder, USB tethering, wireless hotspot, FM, video codecs (Youtube HQ, etc.), battery drains (most likely).
Added CM7's File Manager, since CM9 doesn't yet have one.
Supports GooManager and Mad Manager downloads & OTA updates.
Source Code:
Kernel: https://github.com/psyke83/kernel_samsung_gio2europa
Device: https://github.com/psyke83/android_device_samsung_galaxy5
Goo.im ROM folders:
roms/galaxy5
roms/gapps
Current status (20120605 / v0.4):
Working:
Full HWA (hardware acceleration) using ICS Adreno libraries & new kgsl kernel drivers
Camera - basic functionality
Audio
Telephony - calling, messaging, mobiledata
Touchscreen - including OuNao's fake dual-touch, configurable via madconfig
Bluetooth & Bluetooth tethering
Wireless
Correct MAC addreses for BT & WiFi
SD card & USB mass storage
Lights
Sensors - via OuNao's g5sensord and sensor library, which means no lag in games, etc.
Compcache & swap - the latter available via madconfig, but disabled by default
GPS
Good battery backup (needs more testing to be sure)
Not working / todo:
Bluetooth prevents deep sleep - do not leave enabled when you have no need to use it
Camera - barcode scanner - preview works, but barcodes not recognised
Camcorder - works, but doesn't encode video properly
USB & Wifi Tethering - you may be able to use third-party replacements
FM Radio - no CM9 radio app yet exists, but Spirit FM may work
Video acceleration - video decoders will use software rendering, which uses more battery, and is too slow for HQ video playback.
Useful commands:
Note: make sure you are superuser by typing 'su' in terminal before running any command.
Enable swap (disabled by default): madconfig swapon
Disable swap: madconfig swapoff
Enable fake dual-touch (disabled by default): madconfig dton
Disable fake dual-touch: madconfig dtoff
Audio driver customization - replace X with desired value explained for each entry:
Code:
Samsung extamp filter - X is bool value (0 = off, 1 = on)
setprop persist.sys.extamp-filter X [default 0]
Attenuation properties - X is value in decibels
setprop persist.sys.speaker-attn X [default 6]
setprop persist.sys.headset-attn X * [default 0]
setprop persist.sys.fm-attn X [default 0]
* Attenuation of audio on the headset does not work when in-call.
Only the Samsung extamp filter can reduce the volume for headset calls.

I saw this on mad team forum. Currently running it now and it runs really well. Can't wait for the next build well done pal!

Great job!
It´s working fine, the only thing i miss from CM7 is pressing the back-button to kill an app. That was my most used feature!

I´m getting some screen bugs on 0.3.
It´s like a memory error, a video error, when i scroll a page, the new lines come all weird, with mixed-up pixels, and nothing makes sense.
Is this happening to anyone alse?

0.3 is really buggy.
Oh, and camera is working.
0.4 is better, fixes the bugs, but is a bit slow.
Downloading 0.5.
Thanks psyke, for the great job!
Hi ppl!
I updated from version 7 mostly because I needed the the new sip features, but in this new version 9, on Internet calls, now we don't have the option to change the user agent anymore, therefore I cannot make calls using my mobile phone account anymore ((((
Why did the Devs took of this feature from CyanogenMOD, does anyone knows??
Thank you, but it is very important for me, or else I have to go back to version 7
Cheers!

Any major fixes ?
Few suggestions for psyke83
Hello psyke, I've got a suggestion for you.
To make more free space on the NAND, you could delete out "Speech Recorder" from the ROM. It's useless.
And, could you add all the languages which are in CM7 to stock keyboard?
Because now CM9's keyboard hasn't got Lithuanian-specific letters, such as ą, č, ę, ė, į, š, ų, ū and ž.
Can you include in this ROM the Mount2SD script?! (link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1342387). That is a well update script and in the CM9 porting for the Google Nexus One has a great integration in Optitions -> Performances -> MountwSD

The main idea behind SuperNexus is to provide Vanilla Android experience, just like on Google's Nexus devices, to non-nexus devices. SuperNexus is entirely built from Google's AOSP Source. A lot of improvements and optimizations have been done to the Google's Source Code to have the best possible Vanilla Android Experience. SuperNexus is very light too as there are no 3rd party apps (ZERO Bloatware).
Big thanks to TeamHacksung (Donate To Them) as I'm using their Device Tree and SoC related patches in my SuperNexus ROM. Thanks to CyanogenMod Team (CM), CodeAurora and TeamKang (AOKP) as many features are cherry-picked from their source code.

Ah yiss another JB rom! At first I thought it was AOKP and I flipped out. This is good too! So it's just pure JB? No tweaks? Kinda like the F1 Nexus rom?

You got the file for the keys to be setup right by any chance?
Works great. Buttons are messed up though. Search doesn't work and neither does back. Home acts as the back button only. Other than that its great!

That's really odd, everything is normal for me. All I did was flash ROM, gapps and then siyah 4.1 beta 5 then rebooted.

Fix re-enabled state of up after action view collapse
A certain call ordering to the action bar could cause the record of
the pre-action view expanded home button enabled state to be
incorrect. Store this in all cases, not just when the action view is
initially expanded. (Except for when we actually disable it for the
expanded view.)
If an action view is already expanded when we get a call to change the
enabled state of the home/up button, don't modify the state of the up
container or other accessibility info, but record the new state if
requested.
JIT: Allow use of cbz/cbnz for conditional branch gen.
Increase the default alloc tracker maximum
FIXED VIDEO RECORDING
MASTER KEY XPLOIT FIXED
SMALL CHANGES FORM IN JAVA FILES FROM ANDROID 4.3
NEW BOOTANIMATION
ShockGensMOD v03
ENHANCED RAM MANAGEMENT ... NOW YOU WILL HAVE MORE FREE RAM ..... Please report your experience with this change.
-Fix ListView is not scrolled properly with arrows [FIX FROM CM10.1 BRANCH]
According to ListView's layoutChildren logic, it detaches all children
and rebuilds its children based on visible area which might omit
invisible elements in the adapter.
In this case, arrowScroll methods only tries to find next scroll
candidates from its children so user is unable to scroll more with
D-pad.
This fixes the issue by look forward next child among the adapter as
well as children
-Account malloc mmaped pages as native heap.
Currently when malloc uses a page rather than brk the heap gets accounted as
ashmem memory. Previously the memory would be accounted as unknown but since
It gets accounted as ashmem. This change makes the accounting see this
memory as being native, ie the same kind of memory we associate with brk. Google official source
Speed up statubar/notification drawer
A lot user complain about slow statusbar pull down introduced
with jb 4.2....this speed it up ... thanks to IceColdJelly
Lockscreen: Alignment - Multi DPI [Fix for Xperia GO version)

GLSurfaceView defaults to 888 instead of 565
Merge "FastScroller: Fix to use appropriate index" From Android 4.3 original sorce
ShockGensMOD v02
Great update with some features
Code:
NEW IMPLEMENTS FROM CM10.1
[B]-Check and fail early if requested wallpaper size exceeds maximum texture size [/B]
His fixes an issue where OpenGL initialization succeeds but buffer allocation fails because the requested wallpaper size
is too large (or otherwise unsupported) by the graphics hardware. This fixes an issue where SystemUI crashes constantly
on the PandaBoard when connected to a full HD display. Tested only on PandaBoard, no access to alternative hardware.
[B]-Fix incorrect fragment animation used for hiding fragments [/B]
[B]-Always use hardware acceleration for keyguard [/B]
Without hardware acceleration, keyguard widget will appear aliased
and choppy (especially at the end of the scroll).
[B]-Adjust kernel data stack TCP parameters to optimize performanc[/B]e
Enhance Android MobileDataStateTracker class to identify technology
EVDO rev B separate from earlier releases. This permits use of
separate TCP buffer size for higher bandwidth technology.
[B]Includes new customization and performance characteristics:[/B]
[B]Performance Options:[/B]
Surace improvement option (Fix Color banding)
I / O scheduler (Now you can change I / O scheduler from performance settings)
And more ...
[B]Customization Features:[/B]
New from CM10.1 for yahoo api weather
Power off menu with options screenshot
Circle battery style (very nice)
Status bar tranparency
Option to move status bar to the botton
New optios for navigation bar
Partitions info in about phone
[B]Remove CMupdater form settings and app

ShockGensMOD v01
Code:
-First Stable relase
-[B]Added CMFile Manager[/B]
-[B]Playing with Ram proces[/B] (Optimized.... Im make changes is java app procees files for better task manager... the changes is similar to SuperCharger)
-[B]Custom text on lockscreen[/B] (You can edit this in build.prop in lines:
#ShockGens Text on lockscreen
ro.shockgensmod.textleft=ShockGensMOD
ro.shockgensmod.textright=v01)
-[B]Super smooth[/B] (Like CM7)
-[B]Smoother Lockscreen framework FROM[[/B]B] CM10.1[/B] (Devices with less than 512 MB 'usable' RAM <-- XPERIA U 388 mb usable)
-Fix SkBitmap::fPixels not being locked correctly[B]FROM CM10.1[/B]
ActivityManagerService: stay away from zombie content providers
When the lowmemorykiller kills a content provider in an unfortunate
moment, an innocent client app can become attached to a zombie provider
and be unconditionally killed moments after, when the dead provider is
being removed.
Prevent this race by addition of isAlive function to Process.java that
determines whether a process is still running and is not only a zombie,
add a check of the state of the provider process to getContentProviderImpl.
-[B]ProviderMap: remove hashmap when entire user specific entries are removed[/B][B] FROM CM10.1[/B]
In some cases bitmap's pixels where freed during encoding, which
caused a null pointer dereference.
This fix makes sure that underlaying buffer is locked for the whole
process of compression.
-[B]Better Bootaanimation pixel on BitMap[/B]
-ShockGensMOD Relase Preview (BETA)

Yeah so latest cm9.1 sources with some of 10/.1?
Wow...link(of dl)?
Byee
So I belive it has all fxp 216 bugs, like OMX, Low sound etc?? Anyway very good rom, I will give it a try.
If you can "patch" the remaing FXP bugs (maybe from cyano10 or 10.1, I don't think it's impossible) it's going to be the best ICS Not-Sony rom
Keep on working

Hello frine
This only have important branch from CM10.1 in java files
And yes... have FXP Bugs, but Im working to fix Low Sound, OMX is working (W.I.P) you can play YouTube Videos in HQ in LandScape and play games without problems
GOOD NEWS
Im working on CM10.1 features in Calculator
And if we try to play some other video in landscape using hw decoding, will it be displayed properly or just in one quarter of the screen? Also, is there a continuous focusing bug in camera app like in cm9? Just inquiring, I'm not trying to flame. Rom sounds promising.
Oh, Viper audio mod improves sound level for a price of little distortion, I find it bearable. You can point users there until you find a permanent fix for audio.
Cheers

Information
These are the monthly releases of CM with some modifications and touch ups that will be listed below, They are meant for users who want a stable ROM without the need to flash nightly releases and risking a Nandroid, anyone who has enjoyed the stability of my Google Edition ROM should give this a go
all builds have their core features tested (Camera, bluetooth, bluetooth audio, tethering, USB audio, Data, Voice calls etc), I also adb debug each release and look for any redflags, I then set up the phone and daily drive it with a few of my testers and once I deem the release stable it will be posted here.
Note: The CM camera works but it's not the best, SnapCam HDR (Paid app) from the market is much more stable and has a ton more features (these developers only focus on the 4.4 open source camera and making it better), I highly suggest doing what I do and removing the stock Camera and Gallery and using this awesome app which also includes a gallery with more features, myself and ktoonsez swear by it. The stock files are found in system/app.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[B]06/01/2014[/B]
I was VERY happy with how 5/31/2014 ran on my phone but noticed a few commits merged last night that were authored by bossman Cyanogen himself, so here is your changelog. I feel like the foundations of this ROM are set now which I knew would take a few builds
so if all goes well with this, I will start bi-weekly releases because I'm extremely sick of full wiping/testing/compiling, I just wanna use my phone as a phone!!
stagefright: yield callbackDispatcher to writer only for video
libstagefright: Fix to handle EAGAIN error on first read to source
audio: mute duration at the beginning of recording
Bluetooth: Fix for device gets stuck in pairing
Bluetooth: turn on lcd during Connection
camera: Disable extra HDR frame on QCOM_HARDWARE - HDR fix for third party apps
appops: Fix WIFI_SCAN AppOp permission index
nxp: Include support declaration for Mifare tags
[B]Everything but the app ops commit was merged into the stable branch of CM 11, these were necessary changed to warrant an update[/B]
Enjoy!
[B]05/31/2014[/B]
Settings: Allow access for external apps to launch ThemeSettings Fragment directly

Calculator updated with many new features

Revert "Remove smiley support"
Revert "idmap: Don't log spam "CREATING STRING CACHE"
idmap: reduce CREATING STRING CACHE verbosity
Merged latest cLock widget
Added Stock MMS back in the build as it's theme friendly
Made number picker dialog in MMS and Contacts a neutral gray so no theme will make the txt invisible
Option to show missed notification count in Interface>Statusbar now works for Email/Gmail
Included Apollo in the build to play nice with lockscreen targets, feel free to remove yourself
Removed open music app on headset connect, does not work on most music apps including poweramp
Updated kernel, Init binary in the ramdisk is now the latest from CM
[B]05/30/2014[/B]
Settings: Disable Battery status preference on ModLock.
Fix wallpapers not applying in full screen
Alarm: Show a warning toast when alarm volume is set to silent
CM11 Themes: Don't kill setup wizards
Correct string for left-handed mode (Camera + settings)
Menu button fixed for webkit apps (TiBU, GO SMS etc)
Added equalizer quick panel toggle

default alarm tone set

more that I'm probably forgetting but this is the important stuff
[B]05/27/2014[/B]
SystemUI: Make wifi combo margin themable
wm: Underp menu key release processing (doesn't effect Titanium so don't ask, thats a TB bug)
Fix circle battery opaqueness for the low battery color
Reduce memory leaks by removing all views.
CMAccount: fix setup wizard crash
Themes: Add read/write permissions - 2 commits
Fix broken tags
Remove Status bar notification count checkbox preference <--- main reason for this update, I don't like broken toggles in my settings menus, no idea why CM just leaves them in there, it's rather annoying when there is ZERO java controlling them
every other commit is super minor but we are fully synced up to date with CM
[B]05/26/2014[/B]
A2DP: Stop spamming log with buffer size
Make KeyguardMultiUserAvater fully themable
CMAccount: Remove "or" between account buttons

Very nice, gonna give this a flash.
If I could make a suggestion, maybe offer a F2FS modded download too? Since it's using Kt's kernel it supports F2FS. Also a link to his TWRP modded version as well. if you decide to do this.
Nice! Deffinitly gonna try this!

Having a lot of problems with the back button not working in apps. This happened occasionally in official CM11 but it's happening a ton more on this build.

No issues here man. I support all 4 variants of the s4 and its my first time hearing of this. I'll keep an eye out but I'm quite sure there's no issue

Not one single problem so far, other than the typical CM with v* network extender. Great job, Dan

It connects fine. Any cm rom I've ever ran has trouble with network extender. It always shows roaming. At least yours, the lockscreen does say
Network extender. I have to allow data roaming to get everything to work, without the pesky roaming message all the time.
I'll like this so far, I'm going to run it for the next couple of days to see what happens...

Flash immediately after flashing ROM.
Will be testing this out today. One of my big beefs with CM on this phone is bluetooth streaming. It works, but works suckily (that needs to be a real English word, lol). Drops, buzzes, etc. Dan's GE ROM works great, obviously because of the up to date proprietary drivers. I've tried bumping the minimum clock speed, etc. to no avail. But I am forever the optimist and will try this out later today because Dan and KT are teh awesomeness.

6/1 running great so far. Snapchat front facing video doesn't work properly but most likely a problem on the app side
