[Q] Twitter: No Notifications - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey there,
I have a major problem with the official Twitter App. I don't receive any notifications. When I go into settings, my username and then Notifications, all the different kind of notifications are "OFF". Then I activate them (mentions, retweets, favs etc.) and I get the following message:
"You can only connect 25 devices to your account"
(at least this should be the right translation into English)
What I've done so far: Logged out from the app, revoked the access for the Twitter App at twitter.com/settings/applications and re-logged in into the app. Same problem.
Revoked the access of all apps in my account, deinstalled the app, re-installed it, same problem.
Reflashed the ROM, same problem.
I really don't know what to do anymore. There are no search results with this problem either... Do you have an idea?
Thanks in advance!

[Q] Receiving "Sync is currently experiencing problems"

Hi guys,
I just noticed recently that my DNA is giving me this error under accounts and sync. It seems like this may be a wide spread issue for all types of Android phones, but I was wondering if anyone else was seeing this. The strange this is that it looks like everything is synced properly, and even when I drill down into the actual items that are syncing, there are no errors. I'm not sure if it is the rom that I am on (UKB), but I would really like to clear it up if possible. I have tried deleting the data in Apps for the various items listed, but this does not seem to help. I even booted into recovery and cleared the cache, to no avail.
Thanks guys,
Steve
Alright, I just did a full wipe, installed UKB 1.3 with Cubed stock kernel, and I am still getting that sync error. Is anyone else seeing this?
I have had this issue on CODIS, UKB and the battery plus ROM
It syncs everything fine, but it does show a red sync icon and say its experiencing problems. I've just learned to deal with it as everything still works fine.
--removing and re-adding my google account does nothing
--unchecking each option (calendar, contacts, gmail etc.) one by one to see if a particular causes the problem,...does nothing to help
Just wanted to letyou know you are not the only one with the issue.
I'm having the issue where the gmail app syncs fine but if I read/delete emails and go back to my computer, all the changes I did on my phone didn't sync with my computer browser. Anyone know how to fix that?

I had that issue. Uninstalling and reinstalling gmail app from the market fixed it for me.

Ah, thanks for the replies guys. At least I'm not the only one . At least it's not in your face screaming at you, so I can learn to ignore it.
I'm having the sync issues myself, and I'm even on full stock ROM. Just wanted to let you know. My account is on two-step authentication - are other people also using two-step? Common denominator?

I believe that is the problem. I had an error in Google Internet sync. I fixed it by going to Google dashboard on my computer and clicking "Websites authorized to access the account." Go down to Application Specific Passwords.
Install the Google Authenticator on the DNA. Then register it by generating a new application specific 12 digit password. The Authenticator app will then generate the six digit codes you'll need when asked to be able to sync your bookmarks in the browser or sign in the Google search homepage. Anyway it worked for me.
For me it was Facebook calendar that couldn't sync. I unchecked it and the error went away. It looks like it can be any part of any of your accounts that will trigger that message. If you go into each one, it will show which one is having the problem.

[Q] Problems with google services (hangouts, calendar, Chrome, login error nag)

Hi
I just got a new phone (Xperia Z Ultra), but whenever i try to login to my google account, the following happen.
The login works.
Hangouts fail with the following: "Couldnt sign in possible because theres a problem with google account permissions"
Chrome fail with: "Unable to sign in"
Calendar, music widget and information about people doesn't sync.
Google Now fails: "Network error"
Google+ fails: Could not connect to server
Google Play Games just close when opening.
and i keep having a yellow triangle in my notification shade: "Login error for --email--"
I have tried both stock, CM and PA.
I would be really really grateful if someone could come up with a fix!
Thanks
Just remove your Google account and sign in again I hope it helps
Sent from my GT-I9082 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
i usually have to let google services update after flashing and then re-installing the apps from the store.
Did you get the issue resolved? I'm having the same issues on my toroplus, after updating to official 4.3, have tried reflashing back to 4.2, factory reset... but no joy here.
have also tried removing and re-adding my google account
possible cause and fix
I had a hunch that it was something to do with my account security settings
Go to your Google account on the web, click on Security on the left menu, and look at the "Connected applications and sites" section (click on "review permissions")
I had an epic number of entries in there - so I started revoking access for a lot of duplicates, including about a dozen entries for Android Login Service (the downside of repeatedly rooting & ROMing, i guess).
1 reboot of my phone later, was asked to re-enter my password, and...
problems gone bye-bye! everything is syncing again.
I hope this helps others.
After hours of no sleep Thank you dannydpx
Best thread ever
I've been freaking out about this for days ... thank you for the awesome tip. Removed 9 account instances and I'm back in business!

Had a problem with goggle now on my Galaxy tab. Would crash out on starting. So I uninstalled google now, then reinstalled WITHOUT the latest google now update All worked fine! Applied the latest update, again crashing out.
So uninstalled and re-installed again as above, but without the latest update, all working !
had several duplicated entries from my Galaxy S3, and i have removed them all. Also i removed the one from my Nexus 5 and Nexus 7 2013.
Nothing seems to correct the issue with Google Now. Everything else works just fine..
i fixed all accounts by removing them form the permissions in the security area. the only app that does not want to connect at all is Google hangouts. does anyone have any other idea?
Please?! thanks in advance

[Q] Google+ contacts not in "People" app

Hi everybody.
I just noticed something very weird. I made a fresh install with complete wipe of Cyanogenmod 11 M10 some days ago, and I was setting all the apps; when I came to the "People" app I noticed that Google+ contacts were not being shown. I checked the setting in the Google+ app, the one that says "keep my contacts updated" or something like that (my system is in Italian), and it was correctly ticked, as well as every voice in the Google account sync page in the settings.
I tried almost everything: uninstall Google+ app updates and update again, removing and re-adding my Google account, rebooting, removing the flag from the options and adding them again.. nothing.
In the People app, under "contacts to show" (again, this is a translation, I don't know the exact name in English), I only see listed WhatsApp, Google, and Exchange account. No sign of Google+, where I remember there was before.
Anyone has got a clue? Or maybe things are supposed to be like this now and everything's fine.. how is it on your phones?
Thanks in advance.

Chrome: No Facebook Message Push Notification

Hi,
i´ve tried a lot but i dont get push notifications for new incoming facebook messages in chrome. its a little bit confusing because:
1. i get notifications for other facebook activities for example event invitations
2. i've tried it with another facebook account. with this account i get the message notifications
So maybe its not a chrome problem but a facebook problem. i checkt serveral options in facebook. the only thing i found where the options you can see at the attached screenshot. everything seems to be setup correct?!
i cleared the app data/cache for chrome, deinstalled and reinstalled all updates without any changes.
Thanks for your help.
I have the same issue, I am on lollipop and latest Chrome versión..
Was it solved? I have the same issue.

E-mail notification problem after update to 23s

Hello, I've recently updated my LeEco Le Max 2 (X820), and I'm having a strange issue.
With the default E-mail app, notifications only arrives when the phone is "on", when in standby, notifications don't arrive.
However, the numeric counter on the icon is showing, so the e-mail is correctly received, only the notification don't arrive.
I've already put the E-mail app in automatic startup and protected apps, but the problem persists.
This happens after 23s update, and other apps, like Gmail, now are working correctly, so I don't think it is the same problem as before.
Any suggestion? It happens also for you?
*sorry for my bad English, I'm Italian.

For me it's working now, but immediately after the upgrade it wasn't working also for me.
I followed these steps and now it's working:
-added Gmail to automatic startup and protected apps;
-disabled background resources control through hidden menu (*#*#46360000#*#* on the dialer);
-opened Gmail-->Settings-->selected my account (***@gmail.com) and then opened "Manage labels"-->Principal, and here, I've disabled and re-enabled the "Add labels to notifications" voice (or if it is already disabled, you should enable it);
-Restarted the phone, and then Gmail started to work properly.
With 20s, also with these steps, it wasn't working, but with 23s now it's working.
I wish it could help you, maybe some word or voice can be a little different (I'm translating from Italian Gmail app).

Thanks a lot for the information. Those are also what I found among tons of posts. I was aware of this issue before I flashed stock rom. I did those steps right after I install gmail (and outlook email app which has same problem). But it was still mute.
How did you install your gmail app and play store? with other service apk? That might be a factor.

I've not used APKs, I've installed Play Store through the pre-installed LeStore app, by typing "Google" on the search bar.
After installed Play Store, I just logged in and then started to download apps, Gmail included, and also updated Play services through the Play Store instead of LeStore (there is Play services also in Le Store, but I haven't installed it).
I have also installed the Google App, maybe it can be relevant?

Looks like it is relevant.
I disable the play services, it uninstalls the updates (which I installed manually). Then I enable it again. When I open Gmail, it would require play services to update through play store. After the updates, I finally get the notification back.
Thank you so much for the idea.
For your Email issue, did you try to change the sync frequency?

Oh you're welcome, I'm glad to have helped you
For my Email issue, the problem seems to have corrected itself.
(sorry for delayed answer, I just forgotten to have opened this thread )
