[Q] Wireless charging notification tone? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys,
So I've added a wireless QI plate to the inside of my Galaxy Note 3 as I had a bunch of wireless chargers from my Lumia 920 days .. One problem though is because there's no magnets in the Galaxy, it's hard to tell whether it's been correctly placed on the Fatboy pillow for example.
Is there a way to get a connect/disconnect tone but only for wireless charging and not for when you've plugged it in to charge via cable?
Cheers guys ..

[Q] Wireless charging

I know this has been brought up before to the extent that the LGOG does not officially support wireless charging but has anyone been "bold" enough to disassemble their LGOG to see if charging pads are present in order to fit the phone with a Qi charging receiver? I have not been able to find a tear-down for the phone yet. The teard-own for the LG Nexus shows a thin receiver with a 4 pin pad and I was curious if this may also be present in the LGOG. Any thoughts?

Cant get QI charging to work

Hi,
I bought a quick circle case to go with my f400k. The case came directly from Korea and the pins look like they match up.
I am trying to charge with this cheap charger:
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/28136049...eName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649
The charger has a blue light which switches on when I place the G3 on it but the G3 doesn't charge.
Does this sound like a fault with the case / charger or phone? I am running Sphinx 1.0 if software can make a difference.
I don't have any other QI devices or charges so can't really test.
Thanks
Are you plugging it into a USB port or a wall charger? I had one really cheap qi charger that wouldn't charge very well in a USB hub, if at all. But works ok(not great) when plugged in wall.
I have tried both. Out of interest did your cheap charger have a LED and if so did it only come on when the phone was actually charging?
No it has a light on all the time, and changes when charging.

[Q] s3 charging issues

hey guys hope this is the right place.
my s3 has decided to stop charing, it says its charging but not doing nothing, the port has gone.
my question is if i buy the wireless charging kit, will the phone charge that way by not using the port?
Install galaxy Charging Current from Play Store
and verify charging values.
Try with another usb cable or charger.

If the port is broken and won't charge then yes you can charge it with a wireless mod. If you take the battery cover off there are 2 gold pins the wireless pad connects to that charge your battery.

Question about the wireless charging pad?

Hey guys! Bought the official samsung charging pad today, for novelty factor more so then anything else if im honest! It was €55 to buy online here in Ireland (which is crazy money) but i got it along with a case for only €40 as part of a deal so i thought why the hell not. It came without a cable so naturally i assume i must use the fast charge cable with it? Here are a few questions i have.........
If using the fast charging cable with it , does that mean i will be getting fast charging capabilities from it? (iam assuming not)
If its generally not a good idea to use fast charge plugged in over night then does this apply to the wireless pad in conjunction with the fast charger?
And lastly. Can i run the cable from the usb port on my computer or does it have to be plugged in to a socket when using the wireless pad? The answers may seem obvious but just asking none the less! Not taking any chances with this baby ha
I have four of them. Two of the small rectangular ones from last year, and two of the newer round ones from this year, so I'll take a stab at your questions.

I have not seen, nor did I expect to see, any difference using a fast-charger vs. standard. As such, I only use standard charger adapters for wireless duty.

My S6 Edge stops charging while on either version of the wireless charging pad, once it reaches 100%. The light on the (newer, round) pad goes from blue to green once it has reached this point.

Unless your PC can source 2A from the USB port, then, no, you cannot use your PC USB port to power the wireless charging pad.
Any idea where i could get a longer geniune samsung charging cable so? I bought the wireless pad for use at a desk but the cable on the fast charger is too small to reach from the socket to the desk! I would need the cable to be at least another foot or two longer
Questions belong in Q&A, not General.
Thank you.
I have a question I'd like to add!
I've never used wireless charging before, can you use it on the s6 edge with a case on the phone? Does this impede the wireless charging? Thanks!

Impede? Yes.
Any distance between the surface of the charging-pad and the back of your phone will impact the wireless inductive charging. The less, the better.
Also, obviously, any case that includes conductive materials will be a non-starter.
That said, my Speck case and my wife's (brand unknown at this moment) case work satisfactorily with both the Samsung round and rectangular charging pads. I have read that there are people that have had poor wireless charging experiences with some (probably thicker, more rugged) cases.
Searching should find the specifics.

Samsung Wireless Fast Charging Pad issue

Hello guys,
I bought yesterday the Samsung Wireless Fast Charging Pad from Samsung official store in Amsterdam.
The problem with that pad that only on certain position the galaxy S7 starts to charge.
Is it common problem?
The charging coil is in the center of the phone so you have to place the center of it on the pad, in which positions is it not charging?
why did you get the one from samsung? There's others on amazon with 3 coils for charging so its not as stubborn when placing it to charge. I love mine. look for fast wireless charging 3 coil charging pad.
