[Q] Flight mode on 7" - Kindle Fire HDX 7" & 8.9" Q&A, Help & Troubleshoot

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but what's the flight mode for in the 7" HDX? I mean it doesn't have any phone or 3g feature. And you can also use the WLAN in flight mode.

View radios

Since I am dropping my sprint service I want to disable the 4g and 3g radios but leave the wifi enabled. The best way I have found so far is to put it into airplane mode and then enable wifi. Is there a better or more permanent method to do this?

LTE On/Off from the Android Market provides a shortcut to the radio list; there's a "turn off radio" button at the bottom.
It was intended for use on the Thunderbolt, but works great on any device.
Keep in mind that this does not persist through restart.
Thanks for the info.
I dont have my view yet but I read this on the hero forum
"In the dialer put in *#*#4636#*#* then go into Phone Information then scroll down and select turn off radio."
But instead of the dialer you enter it in the calculator (from what I hear from viperboy). He tested it and it does disable the radio(not sure if just wimax or 3g as well) and I'm not sure if it sticks after a reboot or not or if it leaves Wifi turned on (something I find annoying about airplane mode, having to enable wifi every time I boot)
FYI: if you enter the passcode as !+!+4636+!+! in the calculator, you can indeed turn off the radio. Unfortunately, it comes back on after you reboot. The better option, then, is to keep it in airplane mode and enable the wifi when you need it.
I use the lte program with a shortcut, bt dont work in airplane mode btw.

Help setting up a profile in Cyanogenmod

I have a GSM Galaxy Nexus and I'm trying to set up a profile for work using the built in profiles setting on CM. I just need airplane mode on and wifi. Only problem is that when I switch into this profile, wifi turns on first, then airplane mode (which turns wifi off). Is there any way of setting it up so airplane mode comes first, then wifi? Or perhaps a way of setting it so airplane mode doesn't turn off wifi?
Thanks for any help or suggestions!

Hey i did some research apparently the HUAWEI Ultra Stick E1220 goes to sleep when the tablet enters stand by mode. This same modem is also used in laptops and has the same problem when the laptops go into sleep mode.Unlike the wifi modem which works in sleep mode this modem turns off as a power saver setting .Hope there is some update to fix this but i doubt

Still looking for solution on this any one ?

Tasker. Wifi, cell switching.

Hello everyone. I have a "text now" phone that primarily sends and receives texts and calls from WiFi. It is a Samsung galaxy victory. I have been trying to configure tasker to go into airplane mode whenever I connect to wifi. I got that to work. But now I need a way to turn off airplane mode when wifi disconnects. But when it's turning airplane and wifi both on, it disables wifi then re-enables it. So I can't do a simple, when Wi-Fi disconnects, disable airplane mode. I hope I made sense . And that this can be solved. Thanks xda.
