WRONG !
They supports EXACTLY same bands now these days .. EXCEPT one is missing unfortunately .. I've ckecked it is 800MHz BAND 20 is missing which I MIGHT need but there is alternative.. IF am talking about my mobile operator ! Because I am not switching to different operator ..
Thing is my network what I run on, is broadcasting currently two BANDS this 20 800MHz and Band 3 1800MHz
LG F320 doesn't support band 20 800MHz BUT FORTUNATELY I am lucky that I can use band 3 HOPEFULY
Was reading about these BANDS for operators it is very very complicated for them .. they ACTUALLY bidding between themselves and winning who will get which frequency bands .. interesting ..

Don't forget that sweet TV antenna!
SD and removable battery would have been awesome, no question. I love being able to dump whatever I want to the SD card without worry of causing myself issues. And battery, yeah, my Note 1 after 18mo was starting to swell and lose capacity even with good charging behaviors, albeit using the phone as a GPS a lot and most likely damaging it slowly due to heat.
I'll bet that we'll see some good videos about how to change the battery out of the G2, although the problem with it being a somewhat low-sales phone, finding a replacement battery might not be the easiest thing since it seems to be a very particular shape.
You probably do lose NFC, although I see it on the spec sheet so maybe not.. Battery is smaller, but maybe not a big deal.
Dropping to 3G connectivity? Absolute deal breaker.

It will work. This phone is like Samsung Galaxy S2 on Telus Mobility Canada, which works on T-Mobile USA AWS Band. Another option is to buy Rogers/AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note LTE and flash it with T-Mobile SG2 modem bin.
Rogers SG2 LTE works on T-Mobile USA once you flash the modem. Modem on these chips support LTE & HSPA. If LTE 1700 band is supported then 1700 band on HSPA is also supported. It is a single chip, so they can't enable 1700 LTE band and then disable 1700 HSPA+.
Is it possible to buy just the phone and have it shipped to the US?

The way unlocking works with this Canadian carrier is that you pay upfront and after 30 days (if you are new customer) they will send you the unlock code for $50.
I don't think they will ship it to US. Wait until Feb 14 2012 or Feb 17 2012(Bell sales person told me they will have it on Feb 17 at the store) to see if they allow shipping it to US when ordering online.
If AT&T don't sell phone outright, buy it from Rogers. I know Rogers will ship the phone to US/Canada if it is a Business line.

Seems i can get a connection to wind as well, tried my data sim from my huawei stick in the note, and connected to 4bars to wind..but in debug basic it showed gprs connection lol. So with some modem flashes, we should be able to enable it. I believe there is a thread with a bounty on it here as well.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1400816&highlight=1700+wcdma here is the bounty thread, i d watch that.
Modem flash will only work with LTE Version of Samsung Galaxy Note as is the case with Samsung Galaxy S2 LTE Rogers (has 700/1700 LTE, if you do modem flash on this with T-Mobile USA, you will get HSPA+ 42 and no LTE support). Not on the international version of Samsung Galaxy Note. LTE Version of Samsung is PENTA Band.

Wait, so is the Canadian version different than the other LTE ones or could I get any one of them like the AT&T version which would probably be easier to pick up here in the US. Do we know that you can flash it or is it best to hold off and wait until someone actually tries it?

OK OK . I'm sure if I searched I'd find exact answer but from quick looking I did I see exynos international note and an lte s3 note.
It seems people are trying both to get T-Mobile 4g to work.
Would the exynos be 21mbps hspa
+ if succeded and the lte be T-Mobile 42mbps hspa+?
What are the chances would you guys think of this happening?
I read something about skyrocket doing the same you guys are attempting on lte note.
Sorry if this was easy to find but my gf has developed a hatred for me on phone cause all I do is read forums so I gotta chill it out tonight..

I am debating returning my note and getting a tmobile one. I just wanted some advice first. Do you think the modem from the tmo version would help us i717 users on tmobile?
That's what im wondering. Did samsung just patch the radio or did they just add a new modem to support the band. I have no idea how these things work, but im hoping its a radio fix that we can just steal.

AT&T HTC ONE compatible with T-Mobile LTE network?

Hey I was reading around and found this:
http://www.htc.com/www/smartphones/htc-one/#specs
Under network it shows this:
LTE:
EU: 800/1800/2600 MHz
US (AT&T): 700/850/AWS/1900 MHz
US (TMO): 700/AWS MHz
does that mean the AT&T 64GB version will work on T-mobiles LTE network?
Yup
It seems so. This is different but just a warning that someone purchasing the EU version reported signal issues on T-Mobile in USA.

EU: 800/1800/2600 MHz
US (AT&T): 700/850/AWS/1900 MHz
US (TMO): 700/AWS MHz
The EU bands are not in line with the US bands. This is why the EU version cannot be used in the USA for T-Mobile. T-Mo is 700/1700(AWS Band 4) for LTE service.
A reminder to T-Mobile customers: this model will not support HSPA+ in most markets, but should work on its growing LTE network where offered.
HSPA/WCDMA: 850/1900/2100 MHz -
GSM/GPRS/EDGE: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz -

He also said you can flash a custom rom meant for Europe/North America on to a GSM (Asia)model. This is great great news. Does a radio change the bands?
I dont know.
You can get T-Mobile LTE if available in your area, but T-Mobile HSPA bands not covered with the ATT version.
Edit: Actually I just tested with tmob sim in my ATT phone and I did get HSPA. At my house I only get Edge, but driving about a mile up to the main drag, I recieved 4G HSPA first at about 6MB then I got LTE 25-30MB.
Difference in units(I have one of each)
MID very close, but not exact.
I work for T-Mobile in Washington for corporate. I have the ATT version and I can tell you that the ATT version works perfectly on T-Mobiles LTE network. I don't understand why everyone seems to make a big deal on this HSPA deal though because from what I have seen is that if you are in an HSPA capable area then most likely you have LTE. I suggest the .24 radio btw.

Not all HSPA+ areas have been refarmed, leaving some stuck on EDGE...having the ability to use that band would be helpful to many.
Okay, I'm about to give up here.
Here is my question: Is it physically possible to get LTE on TMO using an UNLOCKED ATT HTC ONE?
I'm on the 30 gig plan and I can't seem to get LTE?
Could someone help please? Thanks!

LG G2 unlocked to Telcel (Mexico)

This is to my friends in Mexico:
The T-Mobile LG G2 can be unlocked and used in Telcel without any problems! :good:
Telcel will have the LG G2 somewhere in November 2013, but it will cost around $11,000 pesos, but on T-Mobile you can get it for a bit less than $8,000 pesos ($640 without contract).
Here's some photos of mine unlocked and working on Telcel. I still don't get my LTE chip, but it works on LTE too!
Cheers!

The signal seems to be great as always, however lately on my Samsung Galaxy Note I get lots of dropped calls from time to time... Not on the LG G2 so far.
The model number is: LG-D801
Cheers!

Here's proof of my T-Mobile unlocked to Telcel G2 working at full LTE speeds in Tijuana.
It should also work on Movistar's LTE network (2.600 Mhz).
Remember that you need a special micro sim in order to accomplish LTE speeds and to live in a city that has the service available.
Saludos!
I travel a bit to Mexico on business and am wondering if I can change the sim card from T-Mobile (USA) to Telcel (a pre-paid sim card).
Is this possible?

Of course you can, but before you do that you must ask T-Mobile to SIM unlock your G2 with the intent of traveling to Mexico. They do it for you for free. Granted you have at least a month with them.
Then just get a pre-paid Telcel LTE micro sim and you are ready to go. It costs $110 pesos around $8 bucks.
Cheers!

You're welcome!
Both are basically the same hardware and specs. However I recommend you to base your purchase on the Custom ROM availability of each. T-Mobile LG G2 custom ROM scene is not that great, not that AT&T custom ROM scene is great, but I think it's not as bad actually.
I forgot to mention that even though both are the same hardware, ROMs are not interchangeable.
Cheers

Hello, why are you worried about LTE?... Telcel LTE is crap, Telcel in general is crap in the DF (they filter the Skyper traffic) and in Movistar the simple internet connection is horrible (they use traffic filtering, for example VIBER degrades after 3min of usage), so imagine how good could be LTE... I have in Mexico D802SEA with IUSACELL, I think is better option compared to the others model of G2

At the moment custom roms are pure crap in all models, better if you stick with stock rom.
Thank you both, actually I have iusacell but I'm planning to change to movistar for the prepaid all inclusive plan. But I have to wait a few months before the company change occurs. Well thank you again. Regards

My suggestion, don´t move from IUSACELL, my other phone a Galaxy S2 is under Telcel and the signal in general is the worst I ever seen in a company, and Movistar internet is not good, as I told before, they filter services and for me, this the enough condition for not to contract a service. At the moment IUSACELL is the only company that dont filter internet traffic, of course I dont like so much their service too, but its the better between the three providers.

Totally agree with you... But I see it differently... I consider the stock ROM really good. For me it does not need anything else. I hate AOSP plain vanilla actually.
But each it's own.

Au contraire my friend, roms are, as a matter of fact, interchangeable. You just need to flash a kernel based of YOUR phone version.
Why, as of now I have a Wind mobile G2 running a T Mobile based rom, with working wifi calling and everything

Canadian G2

Hey guys! Soon I'll be buying a G2 outright. I'm on Telus in Canada and I'm just wondering if it really matters what variant I buy. I see a few different models available to buy unlocked and just wanna be sure there's no big difference for me which one I buy.
I suppose if they'll all work just fine, then I should go with the best dev supported model....if there is one.
Thanks for any input.
Sent from my SGH-T989 using Tapatalk
All the phones in Canada are the D803 version but I got mine through Wind Mobile which is the D801 and came factory unlocked.
Software versions between the 2 are different as well but I'm not sure what is different.
I'm not sure if there are any major differences between the Canadian models but things I saw through xda are that my D801 from Wind is missing the 3rd mic located by the flash. I haven't tried it yet, but I read that this affects the audio zoom function by rendering it barely recognizable and/or useless.
Also, not sure if you would care (but matters to me) is that I am unable to set my D801 LG G2 camera to mute without rooting and flashing another rom.
Thanks! So 803 may be best then. I see just about all the variants available. So maybe I'll focus on the 803.
I'm really hoping signal strength is better than my S2. I gotta go outside where I live to talk or text. Lol

Can anyone confirm that the LTE bands on the Rogers D803 are the same as Bellus?
I may go with a d802....at this point there seems to be more development for it. We'll see in a bit when I'm ready to buy if that changes or not. But seems there isn't much for the 803.

Yes they both use AWS for LTE (Bell and Rogers also have access to BRS 2600, but TELUS doesn't).
I'm using D802
