Acer A700 USB problem - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello. I've got A700 and I'm trying to root it but I've got a problem. I tried it with every key combination (power, volume up & down) I found on the internet but they don't work.
I also tried it when using the USB port but my PC and my laptop won't recognise the tablet. I've downloaded the drivers from Acer but when I install them my PC asks to install NET frameworks 2.0.5727. This version is no longer available but Frameworks 3 also worked according to Microsoft. After this installation the drivers from Acer still don't want to install. Then I tried it with Android USB driver but the same problem keeps coming back.
When I plug the tablet on my PC and look in the windows device manager there is a yellow triangle on the USB port with an error code 43. I've got the same problem and errors on my laptop. They both work on Windows 8.1. Could it be that the problem is on my tablet's USB? There is no problem when charging.
Does anyone have a similar problem or maybe a solution?

I have this problem too for my Acer a700. When I connect the tablet, i can't see the folders on the tablet via the pc anymore. I can't put files on it, and I can't transfer files from the tablet to the pc.
I contacted Acer and they said that windows 8.1 uses a new way to deal with usb drivers.
I will translate (google translate) from dutch to english
Dear customer,
*
Unfortunately, Windows 8.1 handles the USB drivers differently than Windows 7/8. So there are specific drivers for Windows 8.1 required that we can not supply at this time.
We have made a request to check whether these drivers are still going to be mad.e At this moment we can not specify the period within which we as a reaction to get going.
Until then you might try to work with the following generic driver: http://www.droid-now.com/2013/10/fix-working-fastboot-drivers-windows-8-1-x64/
Note that they are not specifically designed for the Acer tablet and we can not provide support for the things that are discussed there.
Following the instructions is at your own risk.
*
As soon as we have more information about the Windows 8.1 driver, we will inform you about it.
*
Hoping this provides you with sufficient information and we apologize for the inconvenience

Any update. I have same problem running window 10.

USB 3.0 + Windows 8 + Flashtool = Flashmode problems

Hi,
Has anyone experienced trouble in this combo?
I own a desktop (w/ USB 2.0 ports) and a notebook, recently acquired, fully USB 3.0 powered (no USB 2.0 ports).
In both I have Windows 8 installed, and the environment and drivers installed for Xperia X10 are pretty much the same.
In desktop everything runs normally, never experienced any errors. However in notebook I'm not able to flash any kernel. The process recognizes the phone in flash mode, but quickly Flashtool gives an error message.
Maybe this issue has been posted somewhere, but I really couldn't find anything and "USB 3.0" is a too-specific term in searches, returning me no results.
So far thanks for attention and sorry for bad english...
..
even i have the same problem with my laptop but the other one having win 7 works well dunno maybe some problem with win 8
has anyone found the solution??
Yup, 2nd this. I also have problems with USB 3.0 and Win8 combo. It seems as the drivers don't work with USB 3.0 in Win8. Saddly.
@fsmaia
Try to Install Flashtol Drivers, in the same folder installation... or maybe you need the PC Companion
Install also this (Right-Click RUN AS A ADMINISTRATOR)

No this ain't helping. I've found out that the problem is solely with USB 3.0, and not Win8. I too suffer from a lappie with all USB 3.0 ports. I had my phone flashed with my friend's lappie, running Win8 but on USB 2.0 port, and it did the job flawlessly.
problem solved !!!
I found a solution, but i can't post link beacause i'm new on xda.
just looking for on google : windows-8-and-intel-usb-3-0-host-controllers from plugable
if someone want to make a tuto...

[Q] HTC Sync/Windows7 No longer sees My phone.

The phone and cables are good as I can get HTC Sync to work on my old PC and this one worked just a few weeks ago and I can even get it to work in a VMware session. But for whatever reason the phone just keeps showing up as Unknown and is put under Other devices as “Android phone”. On the other PC and in the VMware it is added as "My HTC" under Android USB Devices in Device Manager.
I’ve tried a bunch of uninstalling and rebooting and so on but something on my new Windows 7 PC is stuck when connecting the phone. It thinks it has no driver for it but it does. If I try and point any of the HTC INF files Windows just says they are not for this device.
Help!
Thanks.

make sure you have the correct drivers for you phone, if you using the latest version download and install an lder version of the drivers then try to connect
That’s the thing though. The drivers were just fine a few weeks ago. The same drivers work on another PC with this phone and they work now on this same PC in a VMware session. There is something stuck in my Windows host install that no longer allows any new devices to be installed. Like one of the fixes I found on line was to remover your USB hubs and let Windows find and install them again but then they could not be installed and were added to the Other devices. I had no mouse or keyboard. I had to run a system restore under the F8 options on boot up. Unfortunately I don’t have a restore point older than the issue. Even if I unplug my working mouse and put it in a different USB port it too is added to Other devices and no longer functions. I just get messages about it being an unknown device and that no drivers can be found.

[Q] Nuclear-X3 Tablet, flash problems

Hello there,
have several 9" China talbets, model nuclear-x3, and i got a software update from the fabric and instructions on how to upgrade with phoenixusbpro program aswell as the program.
I got the program installed, but when i plug the tablet the program kind of crashes, the text of all usb ports go from for example " other device 60 " to " áéáéááé 60".
The problem is with the drivers, they did not provide me with drivers, i have asked for drivers but apparently they do not understand what i am talking about, i just get an answer like "please ask your engineer to help you", so much for customer support.
Have a pc running on WIN8, i found some universal ADB drivers but apparently they do not support Windows x64. Also tried on a XP without luck. Also tried on a WIN7 machine but phoenix wont find any USB ports at all ?!
Anyone have any ideas ??
VERY thankful for ANY help
/ Matias

Thank you for the quick reply.
I found a similar movie before. I did it, but Dalen does not work. It shows that supposedly has recorded but did not work, and shows error code 10
The devices manager I have this:
Class for rockusb devices:
Rockusb Devices (with a black exclamation mark).
Similarly for motorola adb.
any news ideas ?

It seems to me that after some research the problem is with your driver the device manager cant start the device im not a genius but you should try to update the driver via google or update your windows if you havent already =D

[Q] USB Device not Recognized - HTC EVO 4G LTE on Windows 8.1

Good morning all,
I am looking for help. I can't connect my phone to my Dell Inspiron 15 Laptop running Windows 8.1. I would like to connect my phone as a USB device to via USB cable to transfer photos, videos and music back and forth. I used to be able to do this, but for some reason it has stopped working. Now when I connect the phone I get the notification "USB Device not recognized". When clicking on the bubble, it expands to "The last USB device you connected to this computer malfunctioned and Windows does not recognize it".
The phone connects successfully to a Dell Precision M4700 running Windows 7 Enterprise SP1 and a HP Pavilion running Win 7 Home Prem SP1. The USB cable is original. So my guess is that it has something to do with Windows 8.1.
As I mentioned, it worked in the past before on this computer, but now it won't recognize as a USB device. Also, this problem also appears on an old HTC EVO and a Samsung Intercept. They connect to the Win 7 laptops, don't get recognized on the Win 8.1
I have read ideas about deleting USB from Device Manager or updating drivers for Win 7, but nothing specific about Win 8, so I haven't tried anything yet. I did unplug, remove battery from laptop, reboot, removed battery from phone (the old EVO, the new one I can't), etc. Cable and phone work fine on Win 7, not on Win 8.
Any ideas on how to solve this are greatly appreciated.
I believe you'll need the Intel drivers for everything to work properly. Check out this thread for more info.

Thanks for pointing out the thread. I have gone through all of it, but I am not using ADP or Fastboot. I haven't installed any drivers other than HTC Sync (which I uninstalled after they didn't work). Some of the solutions ask to look up the android device on Device Manager to update drivers, but I don't see the device on the list.
Sorry for being such a noob, but I am frustrated I can't connect my phone as a USB drive to transfer photos, etc. Any specific ideas I can try?
Thanks again.
Im haveing teh same probum verry annoying!
