Guys i would like to share a method in which your phone will look and act 90% stock google device (like cm)
NOW THIS IS NOT A CUSTOM ROM ITS JUST A THEME
PRE REQUISITES
nova launcher prime/regular (PRIME prefered)
titanium backup pro
an internet connection and a patient mind
Step 1 BOOT ANIMATION
check out my thread here for the boot animation
this will give you the google edition phones boot animation
Step 2 LOCKSCREEN
there are 2 ways to do this
A) Widget locker (Paid)
B) Holo locker (Free)
widget locker will help you add widgets on ls too but not holo locker
Step 3 LAUNCHER
download novalauncher prime or regular will do set it as your default launcher
now press menu and do the following in nova settings
A) in desktop persistant search bar click always
B)Search bar style make it android 4.1 jb
C)in look and theme keep icon theme stock jelly bean
Step 4 APPS
for the apps download the following from playstore or search for stock apps on google
clock: ClockJB+
camera: CameraJB+
Phone: ICSDialer+
Contacts: True Contacts
Messages: Hangouts

Step 5 TITANIUM BACKUP PRO
freeze the original apps other than phone and contacts

download ICS phase beam live wallpaper from playstore
Step 6 QUICK SETTINGS
download AntTek Quick Settings from play store
Step 7 change of os number in about phone
go to root explorer and then to system
there edit build prop file
and change
ro.build.version.release=4.1.2
to any no u like
eg 4.2.2 or 4.4
i recommend 4.2.2
Reboot the phone and Enjoy!!!!!!!

Great theme.
I have been having this theme since before root! And it's awesome!
And BTW you can use GEL (google experience launcher ). Its the launcher striped from nexus 5. Just like the kitkat. Not like the nova launcher. You can swipe left from the home screen to get Google now!

Yeah but some times there are lags (mostly in the animation when going from the app drawer to homescreen ) as the launcher was taken from nexus 5.
But in the home screen its smooth!
You can just try it.

YES you have to keep the Bootanimation4U.zip in extSDcard and the bootanimation.zip in system/media

Also replacing the system UI with the attached one and using AOSP Xtheme is a good idea.
Xtheme is a Xposed Module.
Also AOSP lockscreen can be used to minimize the use of 3rd party apps, however it is not rendered properly by our phone, probably lowering DPI will help

hi i found my friend using timescape on his HTC desire HD and i tried to install it(ONLY TIMESCAPE--CONSISTS OF 8 .APKs) to my phone the problems i faced were that the pixels for the timescape itself and the plugins to retrieve our contacts mms etc were not optimized to our phone
can someone port timescape onto our phone ???(coz i don't know @#$* ABOUT PORTING)

Tried It everything works like it should just two bugs........ I've asked the developer....... Most probably it should be usable in a while!

Yeah..... The other one is that it needs to be optimized for our resolution!..... So that we can get visible texts and the media messaging and camera bar!...

4 widget unable to install
5 unable to install launcher provided(separate arc launcher is working)

did u change the framework too??
i installed only the timescape and copied permissions (even build.prop)
can u post the fixed facebook app??

There aren't any changes in the app itself..... For facebook and twitter to work open root explorer, long press on build.prop and select open in text editor.....
Now search for the line
ro.product.manufacturer=samsung
And change it to
ro.product.manufacturer=SonyEricsson
It should work!
Oh also ensure that you Root explorer is in read write mode.....

um.... try setting the app from the app drawer rather than from the widget itself....... and the force close errors do come but the plugin and widget works..... plus today my exams got over so i'll look into the app myself and see what can i do!

And go for:

- Home launcher, runs smooth, themes & fully free
Go SMS Pro
- Handles SMS, can create backups and restores, themes & has old school SMS view
Go Contacts
- Contacts, has a Dialer, quick contact search (in the dialer) & backup & restore contacts

Is there any applications that can allow to create a sort by type ? I don't want to install new laucher like Go launcher but just mods or apks that can I use with my default launcher.

Yes, there are plenty of apps and launchers that allow you to sort you apps in the drawer. You can create folders if thats what you mean:highfive:

create app folders in Android
a) Firstly, open you app window or application drawer.
b) Now from the list of apps, Long press the app you want to make a folder for. Long pressing the app should take you straight to the homescreen where you can drop the app.
c) Again open the app drawer and long press another app you want to put in the same folder. Without letting go, drag the app on top of the previous app to put them in the same folder. Repeat the process for other apps or games.
d) In the homescreen you should now see a round folder with the apps you just put in. You can name the folder by pressing it and clicking on “Unnamed Folder”.
That creates a folder on the homescreen, not in the app drawer. Or am I missing something?

I have done it this way on my phone to give the best possible experience as the Android N theme on MIUI store seems so fake.
1. Install Google Now launcher (this is more authentic than Nova launcher but Nova gives you so many more options, plus Google Now launcher has OK Google voice command)
2. Install Android N theme from the Mi theme store. This will change the colour of the system UI. This means the pull down menu, toggles etc.
3. Now for the icons, install "awesome icons" from the play store . this lets you choose the required icons for each program that you want to change. The program is very self explanatory. Install an icon pack if required so that you will be then able to use the icon pack icons also.

This MIUI Theme thingy is not working for me.
As in whenever I use it and try to edit the Home screens and Contacts Screens and all, it's just a blank white screen.
I can majorly only change icons in the theme.

I liked the Android N miui theme a lot, especially the messaging app and the dialer. I can't find anything to theme them the same way on CM13, would you know any theme like that?
I've seen a few people asking about this and decided to play at doing it. After some messing around I've found the following method to work.
First off, you must be rooted. I don't know away around this.
Secondly you will need to download the two files I have linked in this thread and place them in folders of the same name (DO NOT INSTALL THE ACTUAL APKS).
Third, navigate to system > app folder and copy the two folders called "Weather2017" and "WeatherWidget2017" and move them somewhere else.
After moving the 2017 folders replace them with the 2016 folders and reboot
Once you have rebooted navigate back to system > app folder, remove 2016 folders and place the 2017 folders back as they were and reboot again.
When your phone boots back up now you should have access to place the default S8/S8+ weather widget on your screen while using your launcher of choice (I've tested it using Nova but I think it should work with others).

Well on the vzw s8+ on nova the setting is now there... it never used to be there, but I'm loving it!!!!
Just showing I'm using nova as my launcher

Is this method work on galaxy S4
If you go into weather settings and hit add icon to app drawer, it will show up in nova widgets!

Tried that on note 8 tmobile and doesn't work unfortunately
