What is Evervolv?
Evervolv is an AOSP (Android Open Source Project) rom. We're fully open sourced and encourage it with no restrictions. The work put into this ROM is community driven and Evervolv Project is made up of numerous members and contributors.
Right now the current source we are working on is KitKat (Android 4.4.x).
Current Evervolv version: 4.0.0b1
Installation
If coming from another ROM, you will need to wipe!

Awesome! Will flash this afternoon and run it through its paces and report back.
Have you ran it for a bit @kkozma? How's battery life, I know its been poor in some 4.4.2 builds for the Rez.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk

Poor battery life with the Rezound is just a fact of life... I know that switching to Art DOES increase battery life, but there are issues with Art that really make it not that great for a daily driver.
I've noticed a few graphics issues in this rom that we don't have in CM, so I'm going to have to investigate that a bit, but otherwise it's been pretty stable.

Netflix hack posted in 2nd post. Tested and working.

Nice job. Thanks!!!!!

So your saying that the battery life is as "typical" on KitKat with the Rezound as any other ROM?
Also, what issues have you noted with ART that might effect it being a daily driver? I use ART on my Nexus 4 and it is trouble free... What do you see as the reason ART couldn't be a dd ROM in this case?

Can someone post a screen shot of this once it is installed? Please

@kkozma ROM seems really smooth. YouTube, BT streaming and calls, and camera functions all work well with dalvik runtime. As you mentioned ART does seem to have issues at times.
Great job on the build - look forward to testing it out more as a DD.

Will post some screen shots shortly... Pretty plain jane, so not sure what your looking for.
One thing I noticed, from the home screen if you press Menu -> Settings nothing happens, no menu, pressing Settings from App screen works fine. Also, if you press Wallpaper from Menu on Home screen you get "Launcher3 has stopped" (Nevermind, it just didn't like the fact I had the SD card mounted as USB Storage, once I turned it off, it was fine). Just starting to play around, haven't even flashed Gapps yet.
EDIT: some basic screen shots attached, not much to see though
EDIT2: Gapps installed (Banks), base configuration, and some basic apps installed (Play Store didn't reinstall apps coming from LiquidSmooth) and ran it through some everyday stuff... Exchange email, WiFi Hotspot (tried Nexus 4, HP laptop, XBox360 all successful), media playback, Chrome, Google Maps, etc. all working fine, no issues of any kind so far other than the Menu->Settings things I mentioned above. Going to give it a run this week and see what happens... nice work @kkozma and the rest of the devs. :good:
EDIT3: Added a screen shot from after I configed with basic apps I use, a few widgets, and gapps... in case someone was interested.

Haven't really used Evervolv before, are the Performance settings hidden or just not in Evervolv?

Wow... memory usage is amazing so far, averaging 390MB free?!?! I haven't seen that in a LONG time!!!

Been using it for a little while, it's really fast. Might be because I had that install of CM11 for a while and I wiped it for Evervolv, but who knows.
With xposed and Gravity Box I'm not missing anything.

Anyone know if gsm is working? Cm11 doesn't quite have it working yet... Everything except sending texts...

Not sure about GSM. I do know that Evervolv uses a slightly different telephony codebase. Give it a shot!

This is my new daily driver ROM... I tried to break this, really I did, but I couldn't... everything works, Bluetooth, camera, tethering, prox sensor with no tweaks, Exchange email/calendar/contacts... everything. The ONLY think I found that isn't working is when you press Menu->Settings it does nothing, but accessing settings from the pull-down or app menu works fine.
Battery life is average, not terrible, but not great. Memory management and usage is amazing, and I am running with close to 400MB free on a regular basis.
FYI to others... this ROM is plain jane, there isn't any fluff at all, it is as very basic and has few tweaks and settings but that is by design. That isn't a bad thing but if you are used to Tachyon, Carbon, or others it might seem like something is missing, but it isn't, just be aware you will have to add the apps and stuff you want/need that are anything beyond the core of Android. Out of the box there is barely one full page of apps and only basic widgets, so you will probably need some lockscreen and widget add-ons as well if you are used to other ROMs.
All and all, for the first full blown KitKat release for the Rezound, this is a stable, usable basic ROM... I whole-heartedly recommend this ROM.
Will continue to use this as my DD, if I run across anything I will share.

Thanks for the glowing review! If it means anything to anyone else. I've installed this on my wife's Rezound and she has no complaints. She's as big of a technophobe there is, so I'd say that's also a good sign. Haha!
How about mounting the SD Card for USB mass storage? I wasn't able to get that going on mine and I saw someone in the CM thread with the same issue... I think it's probably something in the mount points, but I'm chicken to mess with that stuff!

It worked fine for me, but I did have to turn it on manually from the dropdown menu.
Edit: now that I think about it, all I did was access the internal storage to grab my screen shots, I didn't try to actually access the SD card, I will give that a shot when I get back to the office.

Ok, I just tested GSM with my AT&T sim card and it did not work. It's possible it was caused by something I missed in one of the config files to build with. I have corrected that and am re-building now.

Does built in wireless hotspot work without hotspot subscription check on vzw?

[ROM] MelodyMod - Dedicated Music Player (05/06/12)

PLEASE NOTE: FLASHING THIS ROM WILL MAKE YOUR PHONE USELESS AS AN ACTUAL PHONE. YOU WILL NO LONGER BE ABLE TO MAKE PHONE CALLS WHILE RUNNING THIS ROM, AS ALL PHONE FUNCTIONS HAVE BEEN REMOVED. YOU BASICALLY HAVE A WIFI/BLUETOOTH ENABLED TOUCH SCREEN MUSIC PLAYER WITH THE ABILITY TO DOWNLOAD APPS/BROWSE THE WEB IF YOU SO CHOOSE TO.
With my purchase of the Galaxy Nexus, I found it hard to just toss my "Sexy Nexy" into her original box and into the closet where she'll likely never been seen again. Read someone suggesting using it for a dedicated music player, so I decided to do just that. After playing around with several other ROMs and just basically gutting them, I decided to just take a base ROM, "theme it", gut it, move a few things around and come up with my own Frankenstein of a ROM. Never used the Kitchen before, nor did I have any experience on what could and could not be removed, so after 2-days of trial and error, I finally got the results I was hoping for (still don't know which libs and such can be removed though). With that, I present to you...
♪MelodyMod♪
Android 2.3.7
Based on MIUI 2.3.30
Deodex
Zipaligned
Beats Audio/SRS Mod
SuperUser/BusyBox
Themed (using MIUI theme customization)
Apps Removed:
Basically everything from /system/app folder (had to leave a few things like GMail because it kept causing force closed loops even after rebooting and gutting other things I thought would solve it).
Apps Added:
AdFree
ADW Launcher (removed MIUI Launcher)
JukeFox
DSPManager
ESFile Explorer
Music Paradise (need to sign into PlayStore, search for it and click update...it won't take for some reason, just force closes without that)
Pandora
Play Music
SuperUser
PlayStore
REQUIREMENTS:
Should work perfectly fine with just about any HBOOT; radio shouldn't matter because you have no cell reception. Not much to read here...
TIPS:
Changing Language To English on First Boot

*Once logging into PlayStore, you will receive random process.google force closes, so unless you really feel the need to download apps, don't bother. They are not very frequent but still annoying at times (I think its a Google sync issue)
*JukeFox has a setting which allows overwriting of the default lockscreen with a pretty nice music control one, if you choose not to use MIUI default music player.
Thank you to everyone who created everything I used, because obviously I didn't create any of this myself. Rockodev for the Beats/SRS libs, everyone involved with MIUI, Iperzampem0 for answering questions for me via PM , dsixda for his Kitchen...everyone

Hey, thanks for the tips!
I actually used the AudioFancier theme, minus the lock screen (the lock screen wouldn't display music controls). Unless that's a different one. I'll look when I get home.
If you can point me towards how to add language support, I'd be glad to add Turkish

Great Idea...I was thinking along the same lines, but didn't see the need to "gut" a ROM, since the music/etc. would be on the SD card anyway.
Congratulations!

The main reason I saw to gut it was to try and improve battery life. Removing telephony and such that'll search for a cell signal will drain battery.

I was really interested in this ROM. My N1 is also my dedicated music player. Has development stopped? My only real beef with it was the few remaining visual aspects of it having been a phone. If I remember correctly it constantly reminded me it had no cell signal.
Maybe someone smarter than me could pick this up? It was a neat idea.

I've done quite a bit of development on the S3 over the last year or so and have learned a ton since releasing this (I knew nothing when I did this).
I currently use my N1 as a speedometer for my newest car purchase while I troubleshoot and fix it.
My point is, I may put something together to make it a dedicated music player and release it on here

I too don't use my N1 as a phone - well, actually I use skype now as my phone and people can only call me when I'm connected to wifi. Which means at home, at the office, or at a free wifi hotspot. Any other time you can't reach me, which suits me perfectly. Apart from skype, I only play music, so I'm curious about this ROM as well. Provided it can run skype as well as the music stuff, I'd try it.
The only thing putting me off it at the moment is that all those force closes tells me its probably not stable enough to use as a skype phone. But any further development (or a new music-focused ROM) would be interesting to try.

I just checked my dropbox account, which I haven't used it years, and it appears I deleted it. I have since built a completely new rig so my old files are gone.
I'm highly considering setting the kitchen up again just for fun and making one. I still have my Nexus (it's actually sitting on my computer desk).

some ideas here too
I did something similar but I didnt create a mod mostly just showed how to take any phone and make it work as an mp3 player and get great battery life.
I'm still using the HTC Rezound as my primary music player and the battery life is still really good.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2644588
So, my wife had been using my Nexus as a speedometer because the one in her car went belly up for some reason. It's been in there for months.
I cleaned it off the other day and what do you know! The MelodyMod r2 file was still on the internal storage. It's what I've had running on the Nexus since I created it.
I've re-uploaded it, in case anyone is interested. I've had probably 4 or 5 PMs about this ROM randomly over the year, so I'm sure someone wants it.
Enjoy!
MelodyMod_r2
EDIT- Just an FYI, I am NOT supporting this ROM so please do not ask for updates or anything. It does work though, it's what is running on my Nexus now which like I said was being used for months by my wife for the speedometer app.

Device: i605 (Verizon Note 2)
Hey all! I am here to bring you the latest version of AOSPA-Legacy to the Verizon Galaxy Note 2! This is always compiled from the latest AOSPA-Legacy sources compiled with the CyanogenMod kernel. I have added some new features to the AOSPA source, but there are no extra apps in the final build.
NOTICE:
This is an unofficial build that I made for myself that I am sharing with all of you. I have a set use for my phone and therefore cannot test everything. Because of this, your warranty is now void. I am not responsible for any damages this ROM does to your phone, but just know I only upload after testing on my phone. Results may vary. Also, this ROM will be updated when I get around to it. I do not have the infrastructure to build nightlies on this computer (it's a laptop btw), and will only update to add new features/fix bugs, maybe weeklies, haven't decided yet. Perhaps I could become this device's new maintainer since everyone seems to be gone, but I'll get to this later.
Without further hesitation, let's get to it!
INSTRUCTIONS:
MAKE SURE YOUR BOOTLOADER IS UNLOCKED!!
Reboot into either the latest TWRP/Philz Recovery
Wipe Data, Caches, etc.
Install this Rom (Download Below)
Install PA-Gapps
Wipe caches again (eh, why not?)
Reboot

Gerrit is down but being fixed, so I am not able to cherrypick these two items. Hopefully PA can resolve this soon and they will be added.
GOOGLE CHROME UPDATE: There seems to be an issue with the latest build of Google Chrome (v39) where the app will always start in floating mode. To return to full screen Chrome, clear app data after updating from the Play Store and every time you open Chrome pull up the Recents Menu (default is long press home button) and select Chrome again. It will now be full screen. This seems to be an issue for all of AOSPA.
Another fix is to stay on Chrome v38 and not update. Link To apk
Weird issue after installing
Not sure if it is related to this ROM or not but I had not encountered this previously under any other ROM. Installed this last night - wiped everything with all the normal steps. Also installed the latest PA GAPPS (the link in the first post - installed the Full version). Restored most of my apps with TB and everything went as normal. This morning, the phone, while just sitting on my desk, made a noise (maybe like I got a notification). I picked it up and it was pretty much loading and displaying things from different apps and videos on my phone without any input from me. I could not get it to respond to any button presses and was even having issues trying to power it down until I just pulled the battery. I re-loaded one of my backups from another ROM and everything appears to be back as it was and I've not experienced the same issue at this point. Can't say 100% it was this ROM but thought it better to at least note it.

I did not install an alternate kernel- usually I find it pays to stick with the one that came with any ROM I install. AGNi kernel always seemed to give me one problem or another. But I digress. I might try to install again to see if I can replicate but it was a little disconcerting as it looked like it was opening apps and displaying data I had entered - almost like some sort of bot. Don't keep much on the phone of a personal nature and it is no longer a work phone since I retired this summer - mostly a toy of sorts so I just try the various ROMs out there.
Won't get to it tonight but i'll let you know when I re-install.

Really didn't mean to imply or suggest you did - I was more amazed on what I experienced and was hoping maybe someone else might have some explanation. I think I have installed every Note II ROM that has been out there since I got the phone 2 years ago so I'm not shy in regards to flashing new ones. I appreciate the effort all you developers put into this so again no blame intended.

Don't worry about it! I didn't mean to come off as so defensive, I was simply trying to stamp out anymore thoughts of there being a bot.
Has anyone else experienced this issue?

Thanks for adding me to the thanks list. I really appreciate it. Will try out soon. Thanks for this.
Reflashed ROM - No repeat
I did reinstall the ROM last night since I wanted to try to replicate the overall process I followed and I wanted it to sit overnight. I got thru this afternoon without the same problem occurring. I did not activate the Xposed framework so none of the modules were active either. Other than that I re-installed basically all the apps I had installed the initial flash. All went well although I did have the SMS "unable to send issue" happen (it seems to happen every so often after I reflash a new ROM - doesn't seem to be ROM specific) so I ended up following the usual process as outlined by DreamFX and restoring a different ROM. I have consistently found the Unofficial Aokp ROM by apophis9283 to be the most stable ROM for me - I'll try yours again when the next release is out there.

While testing a few builds I realized the fix for the texting issue wasn't permanent, but it is fixable again. Thank you for trying out this ROM again!
Once Paranoid Android's gerrit is back up (I'm getting 404 errors for everything. :/) I'll cherry pick a few of the new PA features and have a new build up!

This ROM is great. I really like it. Running smooth and fast. So far no problems at all.
Although I'm still on cyanogenmod, it's good to see there's continued development on our device. Great job Dev

Glad to hear it! Thanks for trying this out!
Update: There seems to be an issue with the latest build of Google Chrome (v39) where the app will always start in floating mode. To return to full screen Chrome, clear app data after updating from the Play Store and every time you open Chrome pull up the Recents Menu (default is long press home button) and select Chrome again. It will now be full screen. This seems to be an issue for all of AOSPA.

I'm on Carbon rom until I try yours this weekend. Of course it does this for me and is annoying as hell. It appears to have something to do with all kitkat aosp roms compabilty. My brother is lucky enough to have lollipop and it's not doing this on lollipop.

I'm really hoping this rom doesn't have that ok Google crackle that plagues most aosp roms for our device.

Unfortunately the Google Now activate tone does "crackle" on this ROM, however when it talks or makes any other sounds it's clear.

Darn that stinks. Thank for confirming.
I am going to try this ROM out. I will let you know if I have any issues. Thank you for giving is another choice.
Thanks for bringing this up for us, very exciting.
I know this is just getting started, the top features I am hoping to see are:
Quiet hours
Profiles
Long press back button to kill
1px battery bar
swipe between notifications/quick settings
Just my wish list for the cherry picks, but everything seems smooth so far!

GREAT!! Downloading it now. Many thanks for the efforts.
Been meaning to try the new HyperDrive, but just hate TW so much. Eclipse is giving me problems so I was going to go back to HyperDrive, but I'll give this a shot first. So sick of my phone lagging...... didn't do it on GPE, but I had problems with GPS on that..... As well as no Google Wallet......

id imagine yes no problem but I havent tried. no reason you shouldnt be able too tho.
Got it installed, but gmail will not open. Keeps saying unknown google play services error.
EDIT: guess whatever it ways woke up. Gmail finally synced. No options for any themes or anything?
It's snappy, I'll say that. I am having a wifi issue. It was working before, not sure if it was working before I installed Xposed (hadn't looked) but it's not working now. Won't turn on. I tried the NC5 ones again, which had been working. No dice it seems. Overall, getting like 200mb free more on boot compared to using a TW rom. I mean that's awesome, but I need to have WIFI =[
Edit: GMail refuses to sync, that was happening from the get-go, just hasn't started working. Just had a reboot while reading a text also.....

All 3 versions worked fine on SLot 1 and Stock for me.
I did have a few issues trying to get WiFi working but other than that it seems to be working well.
Only bug I've found so far, is the fact that the copy paste option, after you copy something and long press to paste, the word does not come up anywhere and you cannot paste anything.
Edit: been running darkmeat 2, and it will not remember wifi after a reboot. Have to manually reconnect everytime. I can honestly say, this thing is ridiculously fast!

How exactly did you get Wifi fixed? I've tried a few different gogolie fixes and so far nothing!
@liv3dn8as
It was more difficult than most ROMs for some reason. I think I ended up using wififix-VZW-NG6-w-modules-modem-w-hlos-SS.zip but had to flash it a few times and do a couple fast boots/soft reboots after I got booted up. I definitely had the problem where WiFi is not saved after each reboot as mentioned above. I had to go connect and enter the password each time I booted.
@LGtMgG2t
Just got it working with that as well! Thanks for the reply. Glad to know it was the same fix! Now I can get back to fixing my original error, com.android.phone stops working. Thankfully it only happens when it first boots. I did just notice though that my SMS aren't sending sometimes. Not sure why yet! Time for a logcat!

I also get that phone force close at boot too. Usually happens twice. I believe it may be an AOSP issue though. I know on the GPE rom it was doing it as well.

Correct. The phone FC issues happens twice only on boot up near as I can tell. Doesnt seem to cause a problem and also happens in the BlackBox ROM twice on boot.

I cant tell you how many different options I tried to stop the FCs then I finally came up with a working non FC and had built this ROM up with a working aroma installer for multiple themes and tweaks and a ton of options then someone stole my laptop and my 2tb external hd when my roommate had a party... sucked I had to start all over again about a week ago. and was apparently too intoxicated to replicate that FC fix thus far... that version had a lollipop all white custom themed aosp 444 took me forever. thieves suck.
im not sure as to the wifi settings not saving I also noticed that only allowing unknown sources to install only works for a single package install.... glad to hear most of you got the wifi issues figured out by installing one of the generic fixes I made for anyone on NC firmware it should work on install.
the gmail issue might be due to a newer version available. if its an issue for anyone just delete it via the safestrap filebrowser and reinstall via playstore.
i'll keep working on the ROM and this aroma installer with themes and what not i have a hard time deciding what to put into it I had like 20 different options for dialer and contacts, mms, systemui and framework was coming up with some interesting themes probably giong to just do that again. i had the option to either use TW or AOSP too
thanks for the feedback guys!

Of note, I hacked the unknown sources before the first thing I installed, have installed a couple more and it hasn't asked me yet. I flashed the ng6 and nk1 (whatever the new one is) modules just to see if it made a difference saving wifi and it didn't. Love the quickness of this thing so far!
Just a thought, but have you guys tried Instabridge? It works great for saving wifi passwords. Well auto connect also. I know having a completely working room would be nice, but it could help those wanting this as a daily driver. I've been playing with empty galaxy myself. dOPE was faster, just couldn't rock it as a daily. ....

FAQ
FIRST AND FOREMOST
HOW TO PROPERLY POST A BUG - Guide to logcats, dmesg and last_kmsg.
Coming in and saying "XYZ isn't working", isn't as helpful as some might think. Even if your intentions are good i.e., making this rom better, I (and any developer for that matter)needs more info. Logcats are the way to do this. If it's a kernel panic, last_kmsg is where it's at. Without supplying me with proper logs I may not be able to help and you may be ignored. Sorry to be harsh but we all have lives outside of xda(hopefully) and time is pretty precious.
GPS isn't working! HELP!
While it works for me, this has been a known issue on LG phones and AOSP roms since I owned my LGOG. First thing to try is to restore your stock backup, get a lock for a few minutes then restore the rom. The only other issue may be with your particular version of GAPPS. Sometimes Google Services can act funny with location services. I use PA Nano and have had zero issues with GPS.
Why won't NFC work?
This is a bug for pretty much every rom right now. We are all working on a fix and as soon as one is available, I will rebuild and reupload the rom.
My 64gb+ sd card won't work!!
While exFAT is usually preferred over FAT32, exFAT has been hit or miss so USE A COMPUTER to format your sd card to FAT32 if exFAT doesn't work for you. DO NOT USE TWRP OR STOCK LG - USE A COMPUTER!!!!

I'm going to give this a go

You can use Xposed, The mod Gravity Box will allow you to add/change many features of the ROM including that 1 for any ROM. You should really give it a go, and you can make tons of tweaks to any AOSP ROM you like. I believe you can also grab G3Tweaks from the store after you have Xposed installed that does pretty much the same thing.
Man this was my favorite ROM on my G2! I don't know if I can abandon LP tho. Gaaaaaaah!!!! LOL! You put me on a predicament. A good one tho. Lol
Flashing soon! This will be the first rom i flash on my G3!! WOOT!
One question, do I need to flash a different kernel or can I flash this over rooted zv6?

You can flash over zv6. I have flashed numerous aosp roms over zv6. Just make sure to wipe everything except internal and external cards. There isn't a working custom KK Kernel yet. HPTesla did say that Rin Kernel is in the process of supporting aosp.

Woot! Just flashed this rom and it installed so fast! Phone just booted up as well.
*Update* An hour after install
Rom is incredible! All my apps are installed and I am enjoying it. I am definitely some Lg features like double tap to sleep (double tap to wake is present and enabled though). Bluetooth is working smoothly (pairs and disconnects fine). Sms works great. Data is working (3G for not but not sure about LTE because I am not in an enabled LTE area and I don't use data at all since I am on campus and wifi is everywhere). Aside from that, some issues I am having is that YouTube videos don't play anything above 720p. That's about it (not a big issue/bug but it is annoying because my LG screen isn't being utilized to the max). Battery is looking good as of now as well. As for the stock camera, It's working but the quality is definitely different as on stock zv6 (not an issue but is bothersome).
Overall, thanks for everything HPtesla!!

Weird on the YouTube resolution..... As for the camera, try "opencamera" from the play store. It's given me much better quality photos on aosp.

The last YouTube version I got to work for 1440p videos was the 5.9.0.10 version. I know after that after they updated past that version the higher resolutions weren't working and would not even show up. It wouldn't go any higher then 720p. I'll go ahead and attach the YouTube apk I use and I get 1440 as an option. It is still a hit and miss even with this version for the higher resolutions. Some will show 1080 and 1440 but some won't. A lot of videos still only show 720. I hope this helps as it is the only one I found ton work with the higher resolution.
Edit: just tried it and it still only shows 720 as the highest resolution. I know I get 1440 on vanir and carbon with that apk. On stock it did the same thing where even with that version 720 was the highest resolution. From my experience it seems to very from rom to rom.

*Updates* on running rom for a full half day
Battery life seems to be very decent (not sure if thats because I'm at school now and not on break because when I wasn't on break, i'd constantly use my phone heavily but it would last me the whole day).
GPS locks instantly and is incredibly accurate (was kind of skeptical of GPS and afraid that it wouldn't work). GPS is a dealbreaker for me when it comes to roms, I depend so much on google maps.
Thanks again HPTesla and whoever contributed to this rom! It's great!
Took the plunge from LP. So far so good I will test the BT to see if I get the same problems on LP which is clipping and eventually just dying after a bit to where I have to reboot the phone. Awesome work and thank you for bringing this to us sir!
LS990 EOS no Data
I have flashed this ROM and it works great, but I have a problem regarding the data. I'm with T-Mobile, and when I install the sim on the phone I'm able to make and receive calls, but no data at all. I have changed APN also changed newtork type to LTE, 3G and 2G but no success, I have done the *#*#4636#*#* and changed the network type over there to GSM and different values but nothing seems to work.
Does anyone has have this kind of issue and solve it?
Thanks in advance
I just rooted my g3 and tried this ROM and the lollipop builds from the official website are great thank you!

Currently i couldnt get Lollipop to work well no matter what tweaks and fixes i did. This includes memory leak fixes,Wakelock fixes and scripts. From all the lollipop roms i found resurection Remix to be the best in terms of functionality.NOTE:the time i used cm12 there was only invaderJohns kernel,so i havent used it with nikita's kernel.
also LTE was a ***** to toggle
STOCK
Battery life and stability with stock rom (kinda tweaked a lot)is unbeatable.I've been using it for the most time of them all and it just cant be beaten(With the help of tweaks from 3c Toolbox(AKA android TUNER)and after i uninstalled some bloatware it needs about 13 hours to lose 1% of its battery when i dont use it.
ALSO IR works, the only donwside i could find in stock rom is high ram usage and high battery usage when using mobile data.
stock touch sensitivity is awful too.
4.4.x
All testing has been done using nikita's v3.1 kernel.
CM11 works well.No memory leaks,no random wakes no bull****.Vibration appears to be working but camera has overexposure issues.WHICH you can fix by replacing this libs files in /system/vendor/lib and change permission to 644 and reboot https://www.dropbox.com/s/3d88k0p12iklgop/camera_fix_libs.zip?dl=0 provided by AntonPanos
Currently im using CPA which works best for me.Everything appears to be working correctly except IR which is something to be expected(havent even tested it though). Also camera works perfectly, video though has exposure issues (using camera that comes with rom)which can be fixed if you change to the same video resolution once you want to start recording.IMO this rom is made for the ones that are looking for superior multitasking and simpleness. Its fast, pretty, and lag free.
I installed mortal kombat X btw and it well.
Other roms i havent yet tried cause i find no reason to.(miui v5 appears to have bugs)(PA 4.6 and pac rom might be worth the try).
Also for anyone that has tried or wants to try the PTT(partition tool table)for d620
Be aware that i was using the TWRP 2.8.6 recovery.
Once i used PTT with OPTIMAL setting i let it do its job, then it reboots(at that point is stucks at lg logo as it should).I reboot it using the harware key and it enters recovery.
IF YOU install a rom right away and try to boot the phone you got it soft bricked. For some reason you cant enter recovery using volume down and power button and phone will get stuck at boot animation. Then the only way i found to get it fixed is entering download mode and flashing stock using lg flash tool 2014.
YOU must first format both cache, data AND SYSTEM(do dalvik too wont hurt) partitions VIA twrp before flashing a rom.
This is just me though so if anyone got any experiences of his own pls share!:good:
EDITED:forgot to add System and dalvik partitions formatting if you use PTT.Sorry!
IMPORTANT:using CPA atm and found out that during calls phone's microphone(headset's microphone works fine)transmits a buzzing sound sometimes. Also my voice sounds a lot deeper and kinda poor quality.
EDIT:MANAGED to find what is wrong.I did clean install with just nikitas kernel and play store->all was good till i installed faux controls
Do not install FAUX CONTROLS ON CPA cause its gonna break the mic.I got to find a different way to push more power on my headphones now if anyones knows how plz share.
Do can cpa be used like a day to day rom? I want to unlock bootloader and flash that rom bcuz of the high ram usage on stock..can you tell me how much free ram you get with facebook and fb messenger opened? Or after you reboot the phone how much ram u get

Im using cpa as a daily driver with nikitas kernel v3.1.
It is rock solid with zero reboots.(quickremote doesnt work due to kernel and video capture can be a little tricky).
i get 500mb free ram when phone is clean and about 400 when i havent cleared recents. If i multitask (music, internet, pdfs,)nothing shuts down and phone keeps on running smooth with about 200-250 mb left.
I just installed facebook to check(everything open:Browser,camera,facebook,fb messenger,music).
I get 350 mb free,no lags during transition.
CPA also has expanded desktop mode which allows you hide status and navigation bar.It is rly good for facebook and internet browsing.
Also omniswitch and pie navigation makes it rly easy to work with the phone.
edit:http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Google_Apps
im using cm11 small gapps because i didnt want the google play(books, games, music etc)bloatware.
Wow that s amazing.. I think i m gonna install it too. Thanks for the info

That's cool. I have tried Stock, CM12, Pacman and Resurrection Remix. RR was the best of them. I have better battery on the CM12 based ROMs than on Stock, which might be due to mobile data sucking battery as you described.
CM11 was not an option for me without working vibration, but with Nikita's Kernel I might try that. I didn't really have CPA on my radar, but I might try it.
I don't even know how you get such crazy good battery life. I can't get lower than 1.4%/h on any ROM i tried. (I lose ~8-9% over night) and I don't have any apps that generate Wakelocks besides Whatsapp (yeah major battery sucker), Gmail, 2 other e-mail accounts and IFTTT.

So you use Nikita's Kernel on CPA as well?
And do you suggest using SuperSU instead of the built in SUManager. Do you use Kernel Auditor instead of the built in Performance settings?
What is "CPA" guys?

I would strongly recommend formatting Cache,Dalvik Cache, data AND system before flashing.
Especially when going from 4.4 to 5.0 or from full stock to full custom.
I personally found most of the problems i was facing after a new flash resolved when flashed again and wiped system.
Very good post though.

cm11 and cpa that ive tried are close to my stock idle power usage records.CM12 was horrible no matter what i did. 1.3%per hour with all the tweaks. But battery usage was kinda better with data on.Havent got the chance to test on cm11 etc.
Also i do use nikita's kernel on cpa and built in SUManager even if outdated has not given me any issues so i didn't bother.
kernel adiutor is a handy app that should be on the phone.Although i use built in performance settings, faux sound controls for kernel audio boost.I also think CPA comes with Viper4android and MusicFX which i disabled both.(i might turn viper for android on cause i love it).You must use faux sound controls if you want to change headphones, phone mic, speaker gain.

I have another question. Which gapps do you use for CM11 and CPA?
I used the PA Gapps 4.4.x Pico or Nano and shortly after i boot up on CPA "Google play Services stopped working". I don't know how much this affects my system, but some push notifications seem to be delayed (though that could be some other setting's fault)
I denied "Google Play Services" & "Google Play Services Framework" keep awake in AppOpsXposed and disabled some Google Play Services :
Code:
AnalyticsService
FeedbackService
AdRequestBrokerService
FusedProviderService
GeofenceProviderService
negotiationService
WatchdogService
WearableService
I use this guide to further improve my battery life: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/general/guide-extreme-battery-life-t3095884
I removed limitations some alarms in Amplify though to see if those were delaying push notifications or if setting minimium CPU frequency to 182MHz caused this.

http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Google_Apps i use the "small" pack and have disabled hangouts, google text to speech, gmail, talkback, browser.(just to free some ram, also am using greenify to freeze some of the apps i have downloaded separately in case they cause wakelocks).
I dont think you have to push it that far cause i havent and phone is rock solid.
"Google play Services stopped working"that happens probably due to some of the services you disabled or permissions you denied i had the same issue on cm12.
I have done only the above i stated and the phone just never wakes up due to some google app.
The only issue im having currently is mic quality during calls.(i think it uses camcorders mic and it gets screwed up).
Do note that if you get low power into your headphones or you want to boost the speaker sound a bit the right way to do it is download faux control and tweak some of the setting on first tab(second tab i found useless.)/

I'd like to unlock the bootloader to flash CPA and other roms, I just want to know if the Zaap's aboot.img file is safe to use for SW v10j. Do you know?

I don't know if it's safe to use that. When I unlocked my bootloader I used my own aboot.img, modified as Zaap described in this post
It doesn' take long and is safer than just taking his aboot.

Yeah, I know this from experience :/
Anyway, if you have the D620R, then it's "safe".
Still, it's better to use your own.
