[APP][FREE][4.0+] LT Profiles Free - Your Portfolio

Hi All,
I'd like to announce my app, LT Profiles Free, that was released on Google Play yesterday. It is a (yet another) app for setup up profiles that allow for automating of actions & functionality on your phone. I have compiled a basic FAQ below to give some background on the app. Hopefully some of you give it a try and like it. Feel free to ask any questions here or email me at the dev email link on Google Play.

Q&A with myself:
====
Q: LT Profiles, eh? So what does it do?
LT Profiles allows you to setup profiles to automate actions on your phone based on specific triggers. There are a options for turning settings on and off (Switches), volumes (Sliders), starting applications (Apps), sending multiple SMS (SMS), and for controlling other profiles (Profiles). The standard trigger options are available: On-Click, Time, Day, Calendar, Event, Location and certain combinations with a time constraint. The user can set a trigger to start (turn on) profiles and stop (flip state) profiles. It also includes a nice widget that will give you direct access to all your profiles in one view, rather than just a single shortcut on your home-screen. There are some nice settings, such as being notified by dictation when a profile starts or stops or setting default actions for profiles to use rather than flipping state back.
Q: Wow, yet another profile/automation/Tasker type app. Booooooooring!
A: Yes, there does seem to be a plethora of such apps on the market. However, I am also attempting to target a specific market, that being the regular commuter. Setting up a profile in LT Profiles gives you the ability to specify a trigger that starts and stops the selected actions. For example, Bluetooth would be turned on when the start trigger activates (you get in the car). However, on the stop trigger (you arrive at work), Bluetooth will be turned off automatically, all setup in the one profile.
Q: Yes, that seems pretty useful and well-thought out. But we can already do that with other apps, can't we?
A: Probably, but I'm not sure if they are as straight-forward and clear to use, but that is down to personal opinion. I think the majority of the functionality and the layout of the options should make it easy for new users to pick up and get going. I have some more commuter-specific ideas too, and they will arrive as I find some spare time to work on them.
Q: So if it is so good, why sell so cheap?
A: Note that I never set out to compete against mainstays such as Tasker; I am aiming for a completely different price-point: FREE to really, really cheap. I would take more from people downloading and using the app, than making money from it although the extra money would be nice! The level of finish of certain components of my app may not be to the same level as others, but for FREE I don't think you could ask for more.
Q: But ads? Why o' why!?
A: I actually don't mind the ads! I have integrated AdMob and AdBuddiz and both seem to blend well with the app. I am particularly impressed with AdBuddiz. Whether I make any money from them is to be seen, but hey I've got to at least try!
Q: So how is the user base looking?
A: Amazing! There is me and a few others who I don't know using it, but it is being used. Result! In the end, I love it and I use it everyday during my own commutes. This is probably the strongest thing going for the app. If there is something I think is missing, I will stick it in ASAP as I'll want to use it myself. Likewise, if I find any bugs, I'll fix them quick as I am routinely using the app for my own purposes.
Q: So finally, can you give us some background on the app development?
A: Essentially, this has been a hobby for me that I started working on middle of last year in my spare time (odd nights and weekends), which to be fair I don't have much of. It has been my first major dive into Android development and I've really enjoyed it. I've found working on an app such as LT Profiles that aims to interact with lots of Android lib components is a really good way to get an understanding of how the eco-system works and what it contains. I can now start to think of my bigger projects and plan them out. Whether I can find the time to execute them is another thing though.
Thanks for your time! :-0)

[APP][WEB] tBattery Graphical Analyzer

tBattery Graphical Analyzer
I always thought that tBattery, which is included in the EnergyROM for instance, is a nice tool with huge potential. Because I couldn't find an application to visualize the vast amount of data tBattery creates I decided to knock something up real quick.
What it is and what it does
It is a web application for visualizing the log output from tBattery. Currently, it displays the battery life percentage over time and not much more but I intend to include more features if there's actually someone else out there who uses tBattery.
It relies on JavaScript (jQuery & jqplot) for displaying the graph, so you might want to activate it. Also, since I didn't do any extensive testing yet I'd recommend a recent version of Chrome, Firefox, Safari or Opera Mobile 10. Well, or Internet Explorer.

Why it might be useful
As stated, with all the sensors being read (life percentage, temperature, current, voltage, mAh etc.) you could visualize a lot of data and create a usage profile for yourself. You could compare your usage patterns with others and get hints, for instance about your charging habits.
Please let me know if you are interested in that kind of web-based extended visual logging.
Current limitations
Displays only life percentage and the time passed
You cannot download the graph, screenshot is the only way to save
There can be quiet weird values for the x-axis, like 1020 minutes. I'll fix that
Planned features
Display date/time on mouse cursor position in graph
Choosing the value(s) you want to display
Anonymous storage of logs and graphs for later reference
User registration for storing logs and allowing comparisons between devices/ROMs etc
Simple download of graphs as images
Let me know what features you're missing and I will try to add them.
Check it out
Just copy & paste the content of the log file and hit [Show me].
tBattGraph
What about tBattery
I also attached tBattery, extract the archive onto your device (after virus checking). God knows where this tool comes from but all credits to the creator.

This sounds interesting, very much so as i feel my battery average run-out time is way to low Thanks
This is an very interesting application. Please take also a look to the forum.ageye.de. These guys have also to fight against the same old problem . Please send some greetings to Joerg from ageye .
Please write also a little app or html site so that we can do the graph on our phone. That will be the killer app of this year, i think. Everyone have to check his own battery from time to time. And then the possibillty to skin this app (dusking). More killerapp then that is not possible.
Hachja, das waere eine Traumsoftware
Any news on the app ? I'm really interested.
seems to be very useful application.
thanks for sharing ..
thanks to the creator of this app..
thanks man... you awesome
Thanks for all the kind words! That motivates me to pick up the project again; what features would you like to see?
> User registration for storing logs and allowing comparisons between devices/ROMs etc
It will be my best function!
Maybe export to csv to deeper analize
This could be very interesting for comparing the effect of flashing new roms, it's been speculated many times that it takes a few cycles to settle in a battery in a new ROM.
Also, will give this a try using my spare battery, would be interesting to see how the capacity claims match up to the original battery.

[APP][1.0][MUI] locationAlarm - GPS Alarm [W|Q|VGA][9.11.2010]

This is the initial release of my latest Application called locationAlarm.
This App can wake you when you really need it! Not based on Alarm Time as usual, but on the location you are in right now!
You surely have heard about this kind of alarm Clocks existing for Android or iOS and now it does for Windows Mobile too!
As special functions of this program, it does warn you if the signaling does not work for ten minutes, and your phone does not know its location anymore!
Also it will warn you with the alarm sound if the batterie level gets critical.
It does not only work with GPS but also with Traingualtion
The Gui again is fingerfriendly (of course) and does rely on the superb SenseSDK 1.39.
Donations are very Welcome!
The Program is available in WWE, German, French, Dutch, Italian, Spanish and Leetspeak

If it was in miles that would be helpful for us in the U.S.
Thank You
maybe i will add support for miles someday, but i think you'll be able to use it with km too until then.
Easy enough to get miles... just pick your miles and add half as many again... That'll give you pretty close for Kilometers. For example, if you want it within 5 miles just add 2.5 (5 / 2 = 2.5) to 5 and you get 7.5 km.
There's actually 1.6 KM per mile, but using 1.5 should be pretty close for a use like this.
I'm getting an error everytime I trying to check the location on GoogleMaps.
This sounds interesting !
This looks really cool.
One curiosity, triangulation information, you get it from Google?
Congratulations.
Pozi.
Yepp.. I read the RIL information and use the google database to analyse it!
Do you know about Cell Profile Switcher (CPS) - a freeware that does many things (also switching the profile on a smartphone) dependent on the location? Location is taken from the RIL (or read directly where possible) and you need to setup groups where you can assign actions to.
Not as accurate as GPS, but also no current drain overhead from the GPS unit or data-usage due to Google connection. It should be enough to wake you up when your commute in the train comes near your destination.
You find it at: http://maniac.fschreiner.de/
along with another famous one "Automatic Key Lock" - not any more so popular as WinMo smartphones are even more dead than touchscreen devices on WinMo are...
Yes, I know that Program, and tested it a while ago. It did not really work for me because:
The closer you come to big city centers, the smaller the network cells get. And if you are on a border region of a network cell, it may happen, that you dont connect to that cell every time!
I'll think of implementing an additional offline mode!
Btw: A request to google is only a few bytes of size, so the overhead is not to big.
Yes, of course - CPS cannot replace what your program does. It was created when GPS was not so common on devices. Probably you can implement some more actions depending on the location and not only wake up?
I am planning on that. We are doing some case-studies over here right now to think of some really usefull and nice location based services for winmo and friends

[Q] Forcibly preventing app kill

Need a way to prevent an app of choice from being killed when low on memory without recompiling the app, adding a notification, or any of that horsecrap. If absolutely necessary I can rewrite a chunk of the ROM.
It still amazes me that Froyo has this many oversights / poor choices, especially with regard to user control over button actions and internal workings.
bump
also, galaxy s2 is going to be awesome in US
I'm using cyanogen now if that makes it any easier.
yet again
.
really would be nice to know..
it's for my custom lockscreen which uses a replacement home, I want to keep the default home launcher in memory but froyo has no user-customizable memory management options.

Edited:
I ended up using a service to poll for processes that are in the foreground which is a much-much-much better solution than a home replacement, as well as being able to control apps on the lock screen (several allow use of the web browser, which is even more of a security issue).
I still need to know how to do this for something else though.

Hows this app working? Im looking to find something to prevent unwarranted killing of certain apps: various games and my browser (not all together or anything), which given that I get sidetracked a lot, I don't like to return to just to find that its all been shut down. My SGS2 has a gig of ram, many of the tasks that use less than 100mb are killed while im talking on the phone for a while doing nothing else with little or nothing open. Email and other little syncing things cannot consume all of this phones resources, to the point one fairly medium-sized task must be euthanized!
Searching has yielded very little, most people are looking for the opposite: some crazy task-killer app to kill, kill, double-kill, killing-spree, RAMPAGE! lol! Some things were goot about winmo 6.x, for example a quick:
HKCU/software/HTC/taskmanager/enableautokill = "0"
is the winmo equivalent to the answer, IF ram isn't tightly budgeted already. I had apps running for DAYS on my HTC Raphael with that setting
I'm testing it again
-Setting the killing spree threshold to 0 for all the sliders seems to help a _lot_.
-Setting the process's priority / using "Always keep alive" is only temporary and doesn't affect anything on my device
-This app is really useful

hahaha....wow....I'm overwhelmed by the complete lack of response to this, even after all your bumps
I came across this thread while trying to figure out the same thing myself. But as euphoria47 said, all the searches are cluttered with how to kill apps, not how to prevent them from being killed....I can't seem to find the "magical" keywords to find a legitimate answer to this question.
How did that app you linked to work for you? I'm trying to force one app to stay in memory (QuickDesk), but can't figure out how...

[App]Denna, fully featured and productive to-do list for Windows 10 devices

Denna
We are happy to introduce you our to-do list application Denna. Denna is a fully featured and productive to-do list for Windows 10 devices.
We live in a time where speed is everything, and with all that hassle, you can easily forget to get things done. That is when a planning tool such as Denna can come in handy, preventing you from ever missing any important appointments or other tasks.
Customize your plans from the very beginning
As soon as you open the application tool you are prompted with the option of inserting your private credentials, which fortunately does not require any third-party authentification.
The profile itself comes in handy as all tasks, both present or future, are attributed to it. Through the profile, you can see your progress and whether you've managed to become more organized or not.
An application with a minimalist interface
Since the purpose of the application is to help you save time, it doesn't bother distracting you with dazzling colors and confusing menus or buttons.
The whole black theme is a nice addition as it is also easy on the eyes while still being visible even in low light conditions (as we all know, most of our planning takes place during the evening or at night)
Watch as you become more and more organized
Denna keeps records of how much of your plans you've managed to accomplish, in the form of pie charts.
You add the task, Denna reminds you to do it, if you complete it, you just check the appropriate bracket. If you've missed out on a task, the application will remember and add it to your history.
This is an excellent feedback system as it subconsciously pushes you to continuously improve yourself and make you more organized.
More so, plans that have been postponed are stored in a separate area where they will remain visible so that they will never be lost to oblivion.
A simple but effective time management app
Given how time is a precious commodity which can never be recovered, taking care of how we spend it is the best thing we can do. Denna proves itself to be a simple yet efficient application that will always keep track of what you do, and reminds you of the things you haven't done yet.
Guess what? Denna is an opensource FREEWARE!

Because of the sync feature.
This app will sync your to-dos over your devices. You can add something on your PC and get it on your mobile in the fastest way.
I would try it if sign/synch isn't obligatory, but feature.

Fantastic EMUI Features and Where to Find them

The EMUI has evolved for several years and is getting stronger and more user-friendly day-by-day. For heavy smartphone users like me, I know basically every small feature of the system, however, I found some of them particularly useful. Today I’m going to share with you some of the less-noticeable features which help me every day.
The most easy-to-use to-do list
How many of you keep the habit of listing to-dos? For procrastinators like myself, I found it difficult to get things done if I’m without a TDL (“to-do list”). And here is when the to-do of the EMUI Notes app got discovered by me!
I know some of you might wonder, there are tons of TDL apps on the market, why should I use a stock app? I’ll tell you why: easy to use and simple to maintain! You just go to your Notes app, or add a To-dos widget on your screen, and you’re good to go!
The To-dos is very straightforward yet useful enough: just add your to-do and set a timer or a location (or not), and mark the importance (if needed), and it’s done! It’s so fulfilling to cross items off, and feel the happiness of getting things done!
Multi-screen collaboration
When you talk about EMUI’s amazing features, the one feature that cannot be missed is Multi-screen collaboration.
When I’m at work, or when I have a low battery, I don’t want to raise my phone too constantly in case my thoughts are interrupted. Therefore I will enable the [Huawei Share] on my phone, and put it close to my Huawei laptop. And bang! My phone screen will appear on my laptop, and I don’t need to stare at the small phone screen anymore! I can look for files, reply to my messages, and even answer my calls on the PC!
A super cool and super-easy way to manage files
This one is not that different from the second feature. It’s actually included in the "Multi-screen collaboration" feature, but it’s so convenient and useful that I have shared with everyone who uses a Huawei phone and a Huawei laptop: File cooperation!
Just go to your phone storage and find any files which you want to view or edit. You can click it directly and start editing it on your laptop; or, you can just drag it out to a PC folder!
And, don’t worry about the screen-on time will drain out your battery. Once you start operating the phone on your laptop, your phone screen will automatically go dark, saving battery for you!
Ring-tone maker
I don’t know about you guys, but I am a person who simply hates the ringtones which come with the system. No offense to the ringtones and to those who use them, it’s just a habit of me.
If you happen to be one of my kind, you will be truly grateful for this feature: ring-tone maker!
Just download the music you like, and play it with the Huawei Music app, where you can find a small bell icon. Tap on the bell icon, and you are free to define your own ringtone!
I know some other music apps might also support this feature, but those apps sometimes cannot set 2 different ringtones for the 2 SIM cards I have. So in the end, it’s the Huawei Music app’s ring-tone maker that wins my heart!
These are the 4 small lesser-known tricks that I found truly useful for my daily life. If you haven’t tried them out, try it now! I'm also trying all the new features on my recently purchased Mate 40 Pro! If you want to know about EMUI tricks on the new flagship, leave a comment and let me know! See you next time!
