How do I Build an Android rom for New Device?

I want to learn how to build a rom for an new device that no one has created a custom rom for. I am kinda new at this. But I want to learn how. I is there a full on guild or something on how to do it... I want to know. There are devices out there that have to custom roms yet that I would like to build for. I would like to use AOSP to build a clean fresh pure Android rom. Those devices I want to build for have the right specs to run a newer Android version but the developers did not realse an update for. I really would like to learn how to build/create my own Android rom from scratch... Learn how to build a kernel, bootloader, etc. to help the rom run right. Can anyone help?

My only problem is where do I get a device tree and all the files for the device? I am wanting to build roms for devices that no one else build roms for yet. So it is going to be hard to customize roms for those devices without any roms in the first place. I know how to download source but I can't build it a rom from it. I just want to support devices that no one else has but the ones people want still... And some of them aa silde out qwerty keyboards. Can I get some more easier instite... I better at learning physically, so a video will be good too.
P.S. I can't get a device tree from CM if the device is not been added... That is why I said these devices don't have roms yet.

Building a custom ROM with AOSP

Hello,
I'm new to Android modding and I already read many guides, tutorials, etc. But every time people build a new ROM they don't use the AOSP but the CM source. So I like to build a clean, not modified ROM from the AOSP sources but when I tried the first time, I didn't know what I need to do because Google's guide only tells about how to build the ROM for a Nexus device and not for mine (I'm using the Motorola Moto G 2014 as primary device).
So first of all, is it possible to build the AOSP for my device or do I have to make any modifications in sources (or it is for one person just not possible to port the AOSP to my device) ?
If it is possible, what do I have to do? Is there any guide or tutorial how to build the AOSP for a non Google phone in general?
Thanks for responses

Newbie wants help to develope

Hello all,
I wanted to compile my own AOSP ROM for my LG K7 (which still doesn't have a custom rom for it made yet). I read through some tutorials, with most saying to build with the device tree. Where is the device tree for a device, and how would I build on it to make a rom for the device?
Thanks for tolerating my newbiness
You will need to start with Cyanogenmod's tutorial on building/porting ROMs. It's probably the best resource I've found so far on porting a ROM to a device that has no custom ROM yet.

I've been trying to work on it with what little time I have but I keep getting stuck. Hope you'll have better luck than me.

Death of Cyanogen, what does this mean for the Swift 2+

Hello, I should be buying a Swift 2 Plus soon, and as a complete noob, I don't know what the death of Cyanogen is going to do to my device. Obviously it won't instantly brick it, but how am I gonna get future Android updates without installing a custom rom?
have a sexy christmas
Please, read my post here, and the (unconfirmed) Wileyfox's response to Cyanogen move here. It should be enough to clear your doubts

One thing relating more to the custom ROM area. So some of the CM team (not COS) are rebranding as lineage OS right. And they are continuing off the codebase of CM however we don't have a build of CM so how will and developer , from lineage or anywhere else, build a custom ROM without code from CM or AOSP. Unless Cyanogen Inc release the source code for our phone which I'm not sure they will. (Sorry if this is a noob question)

You're absolutely correct. We can't start with the development with no sources. However, I don't think Cyanogen would do that at the moment, and, after seeing Wileyfox's response to Cyanogen moves, I think (and actually hope) they'll switch to an AOSP-based ROM with Android N 7.0 upgrade, and if that happens I'm really sure they'll have no problem on releasing the source code (remember Wileyfox devices tend to be quite developer-friendly). From that, we can work on bringing Lineage...

How to build aosp from source for mido?

Hey there devs.
I'm looking forward to build a pure aosp rom based on oreo 8.1 for mido.
So far I've tried and successfully built los 14.1 and rr 5.8.5 from source, but I want to build aosp source so as to create a vanilla aosp rom. I've looked on the internet and asked a couple of devs here in the forum and they told me to merge caf patches. I totally understand the point of caf but then i don't know how to do it. Also I'm pretty sure that some patches (caf maybe) need to be added to source since the compilation always gives an error related to board config, when i followed the official guide at android website. (But then I don't understand what overlays i have to apply or even what they are)
Edit : i use gcloud to build.
If anyone can guide me as to how i can build aosp, it would be really helpful:fingers-crossed:
But then any help is appreciated.:good:
Thanks in advance!
