[Q] My Grand Quattro is stuck at logo screen. What to do? - Samsung Galaxy Grand Quattro

Hi.
First of all, I want to thank all the users of this forum, I found many helpful things and you're amazing.
Second, my english is a little bad, so I apologize for any mistake.
Now, the problem:
I have a rooted Grand Quattro that is stuck at the logo screen (the one that shows name and model of device). I can't boot to recovery mode, only to download mode. How can I make the phone start again? I have a backup of ROM that I've made with CWM, but I can't access CWM to restore, and can't reflash CWM (device says "signature verification failed" after every attempt with Odin 3.07).
I need help, I've searched through these foruns and another places, but couldn't find a suitable answer.
Thanks for attention

Flash Fresh ROM again via odin
BTW which rooting method did you use? There are better and easy methods. Use Kingo App to root the phone.
Try flashing the stock rom again via odin while in download mode ofcourse. Because you are able to do to download mode. Right?
Then download kingo app and root your phone. Don't use cwm method unless you want to flash any other script or custom rom in your phone.
Also uninstall USB drivers and install it again.
Let me know if some new problem arises. :fingers-crossed:
Cheers :good:

Thanks for response.
I flashed the stock rom and it worked again (and I didn't lost programs and personal files )
I opened this thread because I couldn't download the stock rom from Terafile, but I managed to download and install after some time.
About your question: I rooted with Kingo app, but I was trying to install CWM, and I read in a random place that I need to chroot the install-recovery.sh. I think this messed with the phone.
Well, I recovered the device and rooted again, so thanks for helping

Where did you get the stock rom? And flash it with odin?

Download it on http://sammobile.com and flash it with Odin.

This is great platform to resolve all kinds of rooting issues....
Stock ROMs of almost all versions are available on xda itself and all over the internet......

try reinstall a stock rom, check if everythings is fine then reinstall CM9
Thnx for the quick response
I think the problem isn't cm9, when I was trying to install the from I couldn't boot to the cwm recovery because I forgot to root my device. Then I rooted my s3 with cf something root kit and then my signals were gone. I have the international version so my phone should be factory unlocked so I thought I should install cm anyway cuz that might solve the problem. But it didn't. I really like cyanogenmod and don't want to revert back to crappy touchwizz . The problem was there before installing cm9 but after rooting my phone.
Please any help. I really need to use my phone.
Thnx

You should reinstall everything from the scratch mate, so revert your device at stock (using odin), then flash the correct [email protected] kernel and finally if everything is working flash cm9.
Edit: if your device is locked i think you can unlock it easily, search in the forum you can find out everything you need for this.

sorry mate ..
i am a complete noob, i dont know how to revert to stock rom, stock recovery and unroot my device
Download original firmware for your phone from sammobiles and flash it using odin. If is good then root it again and flash cm9.

Okay,
I have downloaded my firmware file but i noticed that i need three tar files for the flashing precess through ODIN but i downloaded only 1 file *.tar.md5
no clue now what to do
Update: I tried to extract the file using splitfus but it didnt work.
Update 2: Okay now I have Installed my stock firmware and it seems to be working now.. But should I risk installing the CM9 again ?

- launch Odin
- load that ONE FILE on PDA section
- put your phone in download mode (volume down+home+power)
- connect the phone to computer, wait for drivers to be installed and ODIN to find your phone (you will see a message in Odin)
- click start
- don't touch the phone until it's done. It will boot alone
Also, it might be a good idea to wipe data / reset to factory before and after flash.
You could find all this info with google ....
On the topic, I have a similar issue. My phone was factory unlocked , and got locked after flashing latest stock firmware. Downgrading didn't solved anything. I am searching the forums right now, but it seems like all fixes are dated.
If anyone could point me in the right direction, it will be appreciated.
Thx
Hey rsndetre,
Thnx for the post, but sorry I already did that and it worked ..
Here are the method I used to get back my device back to normal and got my sim card working and again reinstalled cm9
1- Downloaded Toolkit from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1703488
2- Flashed Stock Boot Image
3- Flashed Stock Recovery Mode
4- Downloaded stock firmware from http://fus.nanzen.se/
5- Flashed stock firmware using Odin (your method above)
6- Rooted the device again (using odin and CF-Root-SGS3-v6.4)
7- Downloaded and placed cm9 and google apps package in SDCARD
8- Installed Rom Manager from Play Store.
9- Downloaded and Installed ClockWorkMod from rom manager and booted to recovery mode using RomManager
10- Then factory resetted, formatted the cache and installed the CM9 and GAPPS V11
Then my phone was good to go.
My phone is up and running, thanks rsndetre, Arsaw and TecQuality for your replies. I appreciate your time
Thanks
Muzammil Ahmed.

[Q] I9300 root pass but no superuser and no CWM

hello. i have a problem regarding my galaxy i9300. before this, i already rooted my device but i unroot it again and install stock rom because
i think it is more stable. but now, i want to play heavy game and need to use chainfire3D and i want to root again.
my problem is, i follow all the step to root using cf-root and odin. the odin said it pass. but when my device reboot, i cant find
superuser and there is no CWM. then i try to check my device at about phone, it said already MODIFIED. but when i tried to instal any app that
need root, it cant be open because it says it is not root yet.
help.. i just dont know how to fix this. if i want to flash stock rom, the binary counter must be 0, and need to instal triangleaway but also need root access.
sorry for my bad english.
Same problem
I have also found that I have the same problem. Following a successful root and install of CWM prior to installing the OTA XXDLI8 jelly bean firmware I can now no longer root or install CWM, despite odin reporting a 'pass'. I have tried several versions of CF-Root-SG3 - versions 6.0 and 6.4 without success. I cannot find any other reports of this problem. What am I missing? The phone otherwise works perfectly.

Hi
I guess you have to do it manually. All you have to do is to follow these steps here: http://mobilecon.info/install-clockworkmod-recovery-and-root-samsung-galaxy-s3.html
and you should have CWM working on your recovery
I hope this helps! cheers!
i already do this but still nothing change. but actualy this problem already solved. this problem occur maybe because i update the stock rom .maybe they put something inside the update file so that we cant flash a cf-root file.
i just flash the stock rom back although the binary counter is not 0. then a lot of thing will be unstable (maybe because of the update). then after flash stock rom via odin, i flash the cf-root. then i got all the SU and CWM. now i can flash all the custom rom.
by the way, thanks..

Hello and sorry to post this problem here as i have the tmobile note but i used the att i717 rooting method from rootgalaxynote.com ofcourse did not use an att based rom but a tmobile one( cm10.1 rc2) . The problem is after clearing everything i then proceed to install the new rom using cwm and it says "install aborted" error section 7 ive tried it a few times cleared everything again and still nothing. Dont know if i need to update cwm and if so how vers.5.0.5 or something like that or is it the build which is the lates update by tmo uvlma1 and the instructions were from may of 2012. Please help i have gone back to stock for now as i did backup first. Ps i have installed titanium backup pro and and superuser and have even frozen some of the bloatware from tmo so im guessing i am rooted. Please help as the tmo threads are dead and no help from no one!! Thanks a bunch guys
Just update your recovery dude.
Twrp is superior to cwm imo anyway.
This has been discussed many times. Since you are coming from T-Mobile forum here is a link which was recently discussed. Staus 7 means you need to upgrade your recovery.

You did not check the link and you ignored the other users recommendation.
Recovery from rom manager will not work. Twrp recovery is good for our devicw. Flash twrp and you will be ok. Follow the instruction from link provided

so i download the twrp file and flash through odin? the problem is my phone doesnt stay on. it just boot loops to the samsung logo. sorry for misunderstanding not to go through rom manager. thanks so much osterizerblender for helping me with links just need to know how to do this procedure.
Your phone will stay in download mode to flash a recovery.
Once flashed boot into that every and flash a Rom within.
Put your phone to download mode. Make sure you have drivers installed. Open odin(i used v1.85). Put the twrp recovery tar file in to pda slot. Conect your phone to your computer in download mode. Once odin finds your device then press start.

Help. Trapped in cwm startup recovery.

Hello,
Yesterday, when trying to create a backup of my current ROM (original, factory ROM) it seems that after the backup process was finished, when I tried to reboot my phone it would go directly into cwm recovery instead of starting up normally. This happens every time I try to reboot the phone. I have a Samsung Exhibit sgh-t599n (metro pcs).
Other things that may be revelant to my problem: the backup was not successful (there was a message saying something about an image not being copied). Also, in the cwm recovery menu there is a warning that says "No file_contexts".
I would appreciate any help you could give me.
Thank you

Okay so you do know how to get into Odin. Try flashing a different custom recovery. Also make sure the one you are using is made for your device. There aren't any recoveries that are universal with 1 file. Just make sure the one you are using is for your phone!

But in order to reflash do I have to take the same steps that I took for flashing cwm or do I have to do something different (delete cache, reformat phone, etc.). Sorry for the insistence.

I don't do much with odin since i dont ever have any issues with my recovery but all you should have to do is install the recovery just like you did the first time. Also if you are following a guide to do this make sure you are checking the right options!
Also not all odins are compatible with all devices. Make sure the odin you are using is for your device!

-I was able to flash a custom ROM (compatible, PAC rom); however, the problem persists. Every time I boot the phone it takes me directly to cwm recovery.
I was able to find these instructions (thanks to thereal_big jake from androidarea51.com) for solving a problem very similar to mine:
1.Flash Stock Recovery in Odin Link
2. Factory Reset in Stock Recovery
3. Flash CWM in Odin
4. Now Flash your Rom or Backup
5. Reboot
Could somebody explain how to flash the stock recovery with odin in my phone (samsung exhibit sgh t599n).
Thanks

ALL - via android consule, via odin, and i dont know about other method. with all other devices i had NO problem at all and i flashed many roms before. its the fors time something like that happened to me.
Try this with Odin: http://goo.im/devs/philz_touch/CWM_Advanced_Edition/i9300/philz_touch_6.25.0-i9300.tar.md5 Put it at "PDA". What error gives you Odin ? Is the phone rooted ? Have you tried installing with CWM Manager from playStore ? Also, try TWRP Manager app, as I believe it does not require root to install the recovery. After TWRP is installed, download the CWM zip and flash it. Ypour friend is running stock ROM, right ?
If you're Rooted then download and install "ROM Manager" From Play Store and that'll guide you through installing the latest CWM for your device. This is the safest method i know.
