DROID Maxx Rollback - Motorola Droid RAZR

Guys,
I'm desperate. I updated my Maxx (which I love) to 4.4 before my company did their security testing. Subsequently, the 4.4 update failed testing with corporate policies. Today I got email stating that I have to "return" my phone to IT by Jan 31. The 4.2.2 build works perfectly with corporate security policies.
Is there any way possible to revert to 4.2.2? I have downloaded installed and successfully got RSD Lite working but I don't think I can downgrade due to security differences...please help me if you know ANY WAY TO GET BACK...they are probably going to stick me with a Windows Phone until an update can be done that will fix the issues.
Argh!!!!
Thanks in advance.

You can revert to stock using Matt's utility (see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2192467). This will get you back to 4.1.2 though (I think).

No dice guys. I am wondering if a true Verizon Tech would be able to revert this device back to 4.2.2. I posted on the other thread but the software is not possible from Matt to revert back to 4.2.2.
Any ideas on getting back to 4.2.2?

Dude, you have the new Maxx. You have posted in the old Razr Maxx section, so the utility wont work. You need to find the new Droid Maxx section of these forums.
EDIT: You might ask the guys here if it is possible to rollback: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2616104
Or use RSD: http://sbf.droid-developers.org/phone.php?device=4, but I guess if you took the official update you can't rollback... If you flashed through SS or something you probably can.

Sorry for the ignorance. I couldn't find the New DROID Maxx forum. I scrolled all the way through but maybe I missed it. Yes, RSD Lite does not work since I accepted the 4.4 update. Thanks for your input.

There is a ClockWorkMod recovery already... Everyone is waiting for the FXZ files, so when anyone bricks their razr it can be restored back to factory. Until then, not very many people will chance bricking their phones with no way to restore
We don't have an OFFICIAL recovery yet.
Edit: Just trollin through
how about now..
Well, I don't see the clockworkmod recovery yet. Thought I could at least flash that.

Developer HASH has a Safestrap Recovery for the new Droid Razr XT912. You can read about it here:

I have not taken the dive yet. Waiting for the SBF Fast Boot files to be release by Big Red or for a Verizon Employee to leak them -- either one would work for me --LOL.
Edit: I just saw that XDA has their own posting on this topic here:

Just a thought.. I think it would be better if supporting Rom Manager on RAZR as early as now than start porting after a custom ROM becomes available.. Like what the devs did with Clockworkmod even with a very minor issue. (Enters recovery every reboot.)

Update if you flash to a non-ntelos phone you must not wipe data OR give it a "reason" to mess with your current service programming. You could loose 3g over time anyway if I don't figure out how to hack the 8035 seem.
If any non-Ntelos users want to flash this please post about. If I had done certain things I may have kept 3g. You are warned. You may lose 3g anyway.

But now its different we have the mx2 nand to correct what the Ntelos sbf puts askew. We know the nand works & well.
So it still may be one way but it may work w/ the nand following after.
I would like a C Spire sbf!
Lets wait to see if the sbf & the nand fix a bricked DST milestone x2.
Edit
The sbf changes the baseband & may not be compatible with vzw.
The nand does not touch the baseband so the mx2 nand works but the mx2 sbf may never work, but what the hell do I know!

Jamiclnt80 to answer your question it is not possible to downgrade once the 2.3.6 update has taken place. This update changes the firmware with security updates. Once that has taken place then you can not go back! >.< I have tried several times but as of now we have an sbf, root access so why at this point. Lets move forward! I hope that helps

I don't know if this will let me post a link yet, but the "Literally Fool Proof Guide To Installing .211 (ICS)" (Google that) was the guide that got the update installed for me. It involved wiping the phone, but it's worth it since I had the time to go through my Titanium backups, etc. Here's the link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1692694
EDIT: BTW, I had to get Version 1.7 of Matt's DroidRAZRUtility to re-root after installing ICS 4.0.4 (i.e. the .211 update). Version 1.6 didn't root it. I did not need the "Modified" version 1.6, though; did the fastboot flashing with Matt's 1.6-final. I also had to install updated Motorola drivers (came with DroidRAZRUtility1.7forICS.zip) to reroot.

So this is the .211 Fastboot files for the CDMA RAZR (912) correct? So now I can fastboot this and NOT have to use Matt's 1.7 utility to "unstuck" my RAZR and flash the .211 OTA?
I'm assuming then this is the OFFICIAL 211 image.
Also, noticed that the XML file doesn't have the entry to wipe your internal SD card. Thank goodness that was removed (even though it was an easy edit).

It allows you to flash your phone with a fresh install of ICS .211 (the same as the OTA) through RSD Lite. So, if you really mess up your phone trying to install a ROM or something, you can get back to stock ICS. That is all this file does - makes your phone stock. Originally we would flash the 2.3.6 SBF file to get back to GB. However, if you installed the OTA or some of the ICS leaks the bootloader changed, so flashing the 2.3.6 file would have caused your phone to become a brick (meaning you would need a new one). So now guys can mess with their phones (like we did on GB) and we can have this to fall back on if something goes wrong while trying to get our flashing fix...
Enjoy guys

What is the best rooting method

I have some issues going on with my phone since rooting. I use matt's utility 1.82 and seems like i have tons of issues with trying roms. Every rom i try has the same issue. Wifi doesnt stay connected and i cant get my cpu speeds to set.
So I have seen in other forums other ways to root your razr. Which root methods does everyone like best and have the best/most success with?

Which ROMs did you test so far?
I used Matt Goff's 1.82 utility no problems
I have tried using Wizzed Bean, Red Tide, and Full Throttle. I am currently running Wizzed Bean and everytime i restart my phone. all my setting reset. i have re installed the rom, wiped cache/delvik still same issues. I might just go back to stock ICS and wait out for Official JB.
Seriously, try Matt's 1.82, Safestrap 3.05, and the CM10 spyder. Running great for me, not going back to the bloat, secret data recording, and delayed updates.

Sorry to take so long to answer-- need to get push notifications for this going or something.
I started with this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1927747
But some of the information in that thread is out of date- so make sure you read the latest posts. Also, with Safestrap, I am not sure you have to root your stock install, but I did at the beginning just because I thought I had to before understanding the whole process. Also, Matt's is not the only way to root. So my sequence went something like this:
Rooted with Matt's 1.82 utility:
http://www.droidrzr.com/index.php/t...-182-windows-for-verizon-droid-razrmaxx-only/
Again, this is getting out of date. I did not install the Safestrap 2.X from here. Instead, I found the latest Safestrap with instructions here:
http://blog.hash-of-codes.com/how-to-safestrap/
Finally, you can get the latest CM10 spyder builds by Hashcode here:
http://goo.im/devs/Hashcode/spyder/cm10
I am currently running the Nov. 1 version, but I see there's a Nov. 10 now. Now to figure out how to upgrade without blowing it all away!
YMMV, HTH, yada yada
