Hey, its been more than a month since this device was released in the market and it hasn't been rooted yet. I request some developers out here to please take a look into the device and help us getting it to root.

I have created a poll option for HTC Desire 501. Please provide your input here so that any one of the developer will look into it.Atleast we can root the phone.

i have rooted my desire 501..
for rooting desire 501 first you have to unlock its bootloader... i unlocked itt by using kingo bootloader unlocker (freeware application available for windows )
then root it using VROOT (chinese rooting app but available in english version too )
but before going for unlocking bootloader..back up all your data as it all will b lost.

I have tried it but it stopped in the middle, I had to done Hard reset after that.
If you have done please, please upload a video (mini size)

Its worked for me,. got unlock boot-loader through htcdev.com, rooted through Vroot.apk application.
But So many applications are missed like Calculator, Flashlight, Ringtone Trimmer and Teeter game.
All stock applications are not available on net, After two or three days later one day polaris office not going started, Any way I have installed
polaris office 5.

Are there any who could help me over skype to root my device?
I've already bricked my HTC Desire HD once, but fixed it and i don't want that to happen again..
So if someone could teach me over skype so i can do this alone the next time?

Hey, I didn't want to open a new topic about it, but I'm confused a little bit about rooting my phone, because almost every tutorial I've opened mentions Advanced Ace Hack Kit, which doesn't work anymore...
So I would be really grateful if somebody could just put a link here to a newer tutorial.

I the mean time, you can download UNLOCK ROOT on your PC, you will be prompted to install the drivers of your device when connected via USB. Ensure you are connected to the internet if you do not have the driver at hand. Follow the on screen prompt to complete the driver installation. Then you can launch the unlock root application to complete the rooting process. Please keep me posted.

hey there I'm new member of Xda and I hope that my problem can be solve after I made my post here.
I'm facing problem to root my HTC desire Z.(please don't ask me to buy a new phone)
Long ago i knew that to root this phone need to downgrade to 2.2.
I did it and manage to downgrade it but when i tried the method that shared other member on xda to root it, it just fail.
I really tried several website and pages but still get the same result, some are real close to get it but...
I think most of the thread are not up to date as nowadays not much people still using htc desire z.
So i beg You Guys expert in rooting lend me your hand please..

Works great you may have to do it 2 times! Just let it reboot when it is plugged into the pc and it is rooting it after the reboot if no root hit ROOT device and let it go for the 2nd time.

The root just exist, I had read it.
Try with framaroot, kingoroot, ioroot ecc
