[STOCK][C6843][Brazil][4.3] 14.2.A.1.136 [FTF][LB/UB] - Sony Xperia Z Ultra

For my Brazilian fellow users, I've just created and uploaded 14.2.A.1.136 C6843 FTF (latest official Sony 4.3 firmware). This is ONLY for the Brazilian Z Ultra model C6843.
If someone is wondering, this model is the same as the C6833 except it includes a digital TV tuner. So, while users with the C6843 can usually flash C6833 firmwares without issues (except losing the digital TV tuner function), I don't recommend the opposite.
This FTF should work on both locked and unlocked bootloaders.
@hamdogg , feel free to add this FTF to your FTF Depository.
Thanks:
@Apollo89 for his tutorial on FTF creation ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2334653 )
@Androxyde for his awesome Flashtool, without which this FTF could not have been created.

It's SemcTvLauncher.apk. The kernel is also slightly different, as it's compiled with support for the tuner hardware.

as it is an FTF then by default it will wipe the data partition, in flashtool you have the option of "un-ticking" the wipe data, but it might end up that you have an unstable firmware with lots of crashes.

[PLAY][GSM][GB][29.01.12] -36 baseband + updated libs!

No more Xperia ARC libs! New libs pulled from .368 PLAY fw are below! Please download and update!
This is only for GB! I cannot guarantee you it properly working on ICS. I don't have this phone anymore.
Hello everyone. I haven't found any thread in Xperia PLAY forum where we could find lightweight package with -36 baseband with correct libs but until now!!
This file is for everyone who just don't want to download the whole .368 firmware (f.e. me - I have limited mobile internet because I'm too far from the city center, so no broadband connection for me...).
As being told (and recommended by DooMLoRD) - baseband -36 is currently the best and gives the best combination in battery life and signal reception.
My file weights only 11,8 MB so there is HUGE difference between 174 MB .rar file with .368 FW provided in thomassafca's thread...
Inside you can find modded flashable .ftf file (checked on my PLAY and working fine) and CWM flashable libs for -36 baseband.
download:
.ftf file + new libs (taken from PLAY .368 fw)
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/27760326/Baseband -36 with libs for Xperia PLAY.rar
slightly modded .zip file with PLAY libs without .ftf file (updated! please reflash them!):
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/27760326/BaseBand36LibsPLAY.zip
NON-FLASHABLE .rar file with libs, for pushing using adb or root explorer:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/27760326/Baseband -36 libraries for pushing.rar
Instructions:
1. Download the file.
2. Unpack it.
3. Using the newest verion of Flashtool open the .ftf file, make sure "Wipe Cache" is checked and click OK.
4. Turn off your phone and plug it in flash mode (press back button and plug it - LED should be green).
5. Wait a while as the baseband is being flashed.
6. When flashing is completed turn on the phone and enter recovery.
7. Flash BaseBand36LibsPLAY.zip
7.1. Optional - if you don't want to flash .zip file, use .rar file and push libs to /system/lib.
8. Reboot and ENJOY!
DO NOT UNDERVOLT YOU CPU! I THINK IN MY CASE IT SOMETIMES CAUSED SUDDEN LOSSES OF SIGNAL AND HEAVY BATTERY DRAIN! AND IT MAY BE THE SAME IN YOUR CASE SO DON'T DO IT!
thanks to:
thomassafca - for providing .ftf file (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1221105&highlight=root)
iridaki - for original post with -36 libs (do not use libs provided in this post, they WILL work but I'm not sure about full compatibility) (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1382657)
Click them a "Thanks!" button, please!
Thank you very much.....
Aren't those libs from an arc? I think we should see if we can get each baseband with play libs. I have many of the libs but they aren't packaged nicely like the others.

Yes, those libs are from arc, but working on play. But only libs are working, baseband provided on arc thread obviously doesn't work so that's why I made that thread.

there are just a few basebands available for R800x so i dont think there is much point in R800x users checking this... also CDMA basebands must surely be different than GSM ones
Do you think you could package other baseband libs like the 36? Where I live bb36 is terrible. I'm stuck with 56 and 58 baseband.

I have the -36 baseband from 368 installed with the arc libs. Do i have to flash the tft again or can i just flash the libs?
I am running stock .42 SE ROM with stock kernel, will doing this (since it's from an older ROM) still work with my handset and what are the differences, I understand it provides better battery life and reception?

Yes, this baseband will work with your ROM.
Some people (and me) say that baseband -36 provides the best connection with the carrier, no sudden signal losses, generally in every way is much better than baseband from -64.
I had some problems with -64 baseband such as sudden signal losses - my signal indicator in status bar sometimes was rapidly changing from 1 to 4 and suddenly showed "No signal. Only emergency calls"
With these -36 libs signal losses are gone, even the battery seems to last longer!
Ok maybe a dumb question but ill ask anyway. Is the baseband for the 800a the same as the baseband for 800i 368 firmware?
Could someone on the .368 firmware please post the " libtalk_jni.so file " ? I cant flash the firmware because Im r800x but I still need the lib file from it, anyones help would be a big help , sorry for slighty unrelated post

The equalizer has successfully stolen for the X10 Mini Pro
My Firmware is 6.0.A.4.1 [Japan] by Sony Ericsson
Model Number SO-02D
Yes Japan has own Docomo branded devices. Hardware is as always the same like in World phones (LT26). It was like this since the X10 which was called (S0-01D or smth like that).
Hi,
How can I extract / modify the files from a .sin file ? I searched the forums & came across a utility called sin2img but the output from that utility cant be mounted in linux.
Samsung & Htc img files can be mounted as rfs/sparse ext4 or ext3/4 images, what are .sin images & how can they be mounted in linux or windows ?
i posted to the thread in general. But what you want to modify ? I already posted a rooted system.img here in the forums.

But I thought Japanesse version of S has TV tuner, mobile wallet and infrared. Mobile wallet rather not, but tv tuner and infrared are hardware features, are they not? If they are, hardware is different. If not, would that mean, rest of the world got them as well, but are blocked by software?

just SO-02D [Japan] no NFC, but after hardware modify, its possible. And Bootloader unlock allowed [No]
For SO-03D just Irda, Waterproof, TV [1seg], Money electronic [maybe NFC or other]. SO-03D, i think model only japan.
SO-02D SO-03D last Sony Ericsson Smartphone.
" The Xperia NX is the Japanese variant of the Xperia S, with the 4.3 inch LCD "Reality Display", Qualcomm MSM8260 1.5 GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM and twelve-megapixel camera. The Xperia acro HD will also share similar specs, like the 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 4.3-inch HD display and a twelve-megapixel camera, but with added Japan-market specific goodies like IrDA port, NFC mobile wallet and TV tuner."
Tvtuner woot?
The japanese variants are a little bit different compared to the world wide shipped ones.
Not all - but nearly all - jap. variants are water proofed and have a tv-tuner on board with an extensible rod antenna.
Some (older) ones have addidtionally NFC on board.
The new xperia ones have NFC anyway on board.
help please

I can confirm that this fw works. I flashed today and tested in various ways, everything is ok. Have an st25i. I tested this rom because i am not satisfied with 2g/3g network speed internet, works ok on wireless, even faster. But with this rom, 2g/3g speed is the same. I did compared to my old galaxy s plus which internet page loads incredibly fast to 2g network. It seems that this phone is not optimized for mobile networks. Anyway ... thanks uploader.
Is it possible to make a pre-rooted flashable zip, with all the bloatwares removed?
It'd be a lot more helpful, than the ftf

Downgrade Firmware to gain Root Access

It was suck when I upgrade on 14.1.B.2.257 then everything you do for Root were not work, vroot, oneclick root, etc.
I using Sony Updates software for upgrade it, previous purpose only to making backup Stock ROM, then my root access was gone.
I combine many posting to gain back root access, actually my FW was Indonesia CDA, it may be broke warranty, but I try replace 2.257 with 1.510, that still rootable, with same interface (like white theme on setting). I just wanna share what I simple done.
1. Flash your device with previous FW( Me, use Indonesia 1.510), for you please select as you wish. Download it first.

Just sucessfully rooted my ZUltra using the VRoot tool. Am running 510 fw (Indonesian C6802).
Just wanted to hare my steps:
1. Connect your phone (don't forget to enable USB Debugging)
2. Open the Vroot tool, wait until it detects the phone.
3. Click on the green button on the right bottom corner of the tool (root).
4. After sucesssfully root using the VRoot (your phone will reboot), install the SuperSU from playstore.
5. Open the SuperSU app, it will ask to update binary, click ok.
6. Then open the Vroot tool once again, click the white button (unroot) on the left of the green button, hence removing the chinese superuser app.
7. After that go to SuperSU -> Settings -> Install SuperU into /system.
8. After that reboot the phone, and the SuperSU will still be there, all apps requiring root works perfectly.
Note: if you cannot find the developer options in the settings to enable USB debugging (just like I did the first time ), go to About Phone and click on the Build Number menu 7 times. That will enable the developer mode.

Okay Boys (I didn't know there are any girls) looks like some of us are having trouble installing the rom so here are The installing instructions :-
1. Don't dirty flash it over any other roms ....clear factorey data clear cache dalvic cache ....
2. Flash the rom............(dah it's obvious).........
3. Flash any .757 based kernel like jackie's009 or Doomkernel (link provided)...
4. Clear cache dalvic cache ....(don't necessary but do it you got the time)...
5. Now flash the fix ...........(Well this is important don't miss it)........
6. Reboot..........................Now you'r officially Golden................

Noice! Thank you. One question though, since this is from the Z2, I'm assuming it's missing some features like being able to adjust the launcher grid/icon sizes like on the original ZU ROM? (i.e making the launcher icons bigger or smaller)

You will not my friend if you flash the fix alongside the rom and even if you not flash the fix there is 50-50 chance of you losing your imei and if you did you can always flash back to your previous rom it should fix it............The rom did not break your imei permanently as it does not effect the t.a partion ...............The losing of the imei is a bug in the rom .......

hey you had this in your OP "Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh don't ohhhh flash any .757 kernel"...the "don't" and "any" should be taken off (so I did not flash any kernel)
so while I read and re-read your OP,,,please edit your OP.
just put into the OP, what you wrote in your reply to me thanks

Still doesn't read very well. maybe something like:
"The rom will not boot up after flashing, to fix this you will have to flash a .757 kernel - jackie099's or DoomKernel will work"

On the page look right below the orange button that shows the file size. There's a downward arrow with letters /words. Click it and wait a few seconds and it should start. That's if you're on a phone though, I'm sure what it looks like on PC. I'll try to make a mega mirror when I can.

You should have seen a prompt when rebooting if to keep recovery..had to select yes. Maybe you have to flash custom recovery kernel again.
To mathur...rom works great though I ended up using a different keyboard apk. Thanks
