The equalizer has successfully stolen for the X10 Mini Pro

My Firmware is 6.0.A.4.1 [Japan] by Sony Ericsson
Model Number SO-02D

Yes Japan has own Docomo branded devices. Hardware is as always the same like in World phones (LT26). It was like this since the X10 which was called (S0-01D or smth like that).

Hi,
How can I extract / modify the files from a .sin file ? I searched the forums & came across a utility called sin2img but the output from that utility cant be mounted in linux.
Samsung & Htc img files can be mounted as rfs/sparse ext4 or ext3/4 images, what are .sin images & how can they be mounted in linux or windows ?

i posted to the thread in general. But what you want to modify ? I already posted a rooted system.img here in the forums.
Regards

But I thought Japanesse version of S has TV tuner, mobile wallet and infrared. Mobile wallet rather not, but tv tuner and infrared are hardware features, are they not? If they are, hardware is different. If not, would that mean, rest of the world got them as well, but are blocked by software?

Sorry for all that confusion. I got it wrong. Sony Xperia NX (SO-02D) is japanese version of S. Sony Acro HD (SO-03D) has tuner and infrared. My bad, I do apologize.

No problem. Again i learned something
Regards

just SO-02D [Japan] no NFC, but after hardware modify, its possible. And Bootloader unlock allowed [No]
For SO-03D just Irda, Waterproof, TV [1seg], Money electronic [maybe NFC or other]. SO-03D, i think model only japan.
SO-02D SO-03D last Sony Ericsson Smartphone.

" The Xperia NX is the Japanese variant of the Xperia S, with the 4.3 inch LCD "Reality Display", Qualcomm MSM8260 1.5 GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM and twelve-megapixel camera. The Xperia acro HD will also share similar specs, like the 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 4.3-inch HD display and a twelve-megapixel camera, but with added Japan-market specific goodies like IrDA port, NFC mobile wallet and TV tuner."
Tvtuner woot?

The japanese variants are a little bit different compared to the world wide shipped ones.
Not all - but nearly all - jap. variants are water proofed and have a tv-tuner on board with an extensible rod antenna.
Some (older) ones have addidtionally NFC on board.
The new xperia ones have NFC anyway on board.

help please

No X10 family 2.2 updates coming after all...

here's the link:
http://www.engadget.com/2011/01/06/sony-ericsson-no-os-updates-for-xperia-x10-beyond-android-2-1/
what a shame... here's to hoping the bootloader gets cracked and we can have some custom 2.2 roms!
WTF this sux
Wat the heck is this......we just started X10 mini and the updates are finished from SE.........This isn't good......SE is the worst lazy company i ever seen................I am so disappointed!!!
Even if the mini received a 2.2 update it wouldn't contain all the goodies such as Flash 10 and JIT enhancements.

There are claims of a 2x-5x Performance boost over some apps compared to 2.1 Dalvik JIT:
http://developer.android.com/sdk/android-2.2-highlights.html
There is also a Flash 10 Download for 2.2 as well: http://www.intomobile.com/2010/06/1...er-beta-2-for-android-2-2-froyo-os-goes-live/
So most things can be replicated between versions (Obvious exceptions including the Kernel). Still, it's a shame that SE don't seem to want to maintain updates on this device

My understanding is that Flash is dependant on the funtionality that the OS offers, Not the hardware (Obviously you need to have enough CPU power).

problem is that they released the phone but eventually stopped making an upgrade in the OS ..
they should put either a notice or a fine print that they'd stop releasing a new OS once they have new lines of phone.

Installing flash on the mini is simple - just change the following (in build.prop file)
"ro.build.version.sdk=7" to "ro.build.version.sdk=8"
"ro.product.cpu.abi=armeabi" to "ro.product.cpu.abi=armeabi-v7a"
"ro.product.cpu.abi2=unknown" to "ro.product.cpu.abi2=armeabi"
reboot
install flash from the market or elsewhere
The problem is 2.1 won't recognize it, probably due to "permissions" and the absence of "plugins". I'm not 100% sure but the Flash Player code may include some iterances of "Arm7" substrates in order to run.

It's is a developers source code and if I am not wrong these are for developers to look into and tinker around with.
Firmware for end-user is available via OTA/SEUS/PC Companion as per company's plan generally a few days/weeks after being mentioned on PRTDC.
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
This is not usable as a ROM. It's only the Source data that SE has to release as per the Open GPL Licenses....
The only workaround with this file should be to compile some Kernel Modules like tun.ko etc...
As Kloud_ said the firmware releases are sent via SEUS/PC Companion....
Jim
Someone who knows what they are looking for can tell what is included in the update from the source code posted above, though
I'm not smart enough for that

Works on my phone(at least in the picture viewer portion of mediascape). MT works in all apps that support it at all.
I'm currently running:
Firmware: 2.1-update-1
Baseband: 2.0.46
Kernel: 2.6.29
Build: 2.0.A.0.504 (MT update and fix(mt for all apps) with JIT enabled)

Believe me, it will never appear.
They are going to release the Xperia ARC in q1 with gingerbread 2.3 and then nobody cares about the X10.

Guys I updated my phone thru SE today. This is actually a rom.the base band and the build number are different and also could root the phone with flash tools.
Screen shots. Also added the 2.2.11 market and some other stuff like Neo reader and post card which are not really usable. But i Confirm you can root the device,

They did once say they may be able to get multi-touch working on the X10 tho, they have never said they may release 2.2.
It isn't going to happen, never ever will, end of story.
If they did I would prefer FreeX10 anyway, as SE 2.2 would have too much ****e on it
2.1.A.0.435 = poor perfromance
SE update service announced this a while back but ignored it until I got a dead ROM, which happened today while playing with Gingerbread 2.3.1 - TripNRaVeR v1.1 - since gone to 1.2 and with the sound / keyboard / wifi / sdcard fixes in place and working, highly recommend checking it..
EDIT: After flashing back to this standard ROM to look into MultiTouch further, found Multitouch is implemented in stock 2.1.A.0.435 ROM. Working with browser, docs, Angry Birds, Maps and more, not Navigation by default, investigating.
So there you have it - Multitouch is enabled on the 435 ROM. All other ROM versions can add it with the Dual Touch kernel mod and setting the xml file options / Build.prop etc.. takes 10 minutes and is worth it!
The new Mediascape has a Plus / Minus flexible icon that appears when you hold your finger on the picture, allowing you to zoom in and out, but not pinch ouch!
2.1.A.0.435 is the slowest ROM I've used. Linkpack score of 6.xx - totally lame app performance, constantly killing processes and I gave up using it within 2 hours, not even bothering to make an update.zip to return to xRecovery loading my preferred 2.0.2.A.0.24 with XGbread theme.
EDIT 2: Don't recommend downgrading from 2.3.1 to 2.1.A.0.435 ROM by Flashing with Update Service and then using xRecovery to attempt loading 2.1.A.0.24 - as this bricked my device and was forced to use the Update Service to go back to 2.1.A.0.435, which is where I am stuck right now - lol - this is because of the baseband version being so different you will always receive - No service - WiFi will crash repeatedly and basically you can't use it as a phone anymore.
Root via SuperOneClick - works! - Install BusyBox - works! - load xRecovery works!

[PLAY][GSM][GB][29.01.12] -36 baseband + updated libs!

No more Xperia ARC libs! New libs pulled from .368 PLAY fw are below! Please download and update!
This is only for GB! I cannot guarantee you it properly working on ICS. I don't have this phone anymore.
Hello everyone. I haven't found any thread in Xperia PLAY forum where we could find lightweight package with -36 baseband with correct libs but until now!!
This file is for everyone who just don't want to download the whole .368 firmware (f.e. me - I have limited mobile internet because I'm too far from the city center, so no broadband connection for me...).
As being told (and recommended by DooMLoRD) - baseband -36 is currently the best and gives the best combination in battery life and signal reception.
My file weights only 11,8 MB so there is HUGE difference between 174 MB .rar file with .368 FW provided in thomassafca's thread...
Inside you can find modded flashable .ftf file (checked on my PLAY and working fine) and CWM flashable libs for -36 baseband.
download:
.ftf file + new libs (taken from PLAY .368 fw)
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/27760326/Baseband -36 with libs for Xperia PLAY.rar
slightly modded .zip file with PLAY libs without .ftf file (updated! please reflash them!):
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/27760326/BaseBand36LibsPLAY.zip
NON-FLASHABLE .rar file with libs, for pushing using adb or root explorer:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/27760326/Baseband -36 libraries for pushing.rar
Instructions:
1. Download the file.
2. Unpack it.
3. Using the newest verion of Flashtool open the .ftf file, make sure "Wipe Cache" is checked and click OK.
4. Turn off your phone and plug it in flash mode (press back button and plug it - LED should be green).
5. Wait a while as the baseband is being flashed.
6. When flashing is completed turn on the phone and enter recovery.
7. Flash BaseBand36LibsPLAY.zip
7.1. Optional - if you don't want to flash .zip file, use .rar file and push libs to /system/lib.
8. Reboot and ENJOY!
DO NOT UNDERVOLT YOU CPU! I THINK IN MY CASE IT SOMETIMES CAUSED SUDDEN LOSSES OF SIGNAL AND HEAVY BATTERY DRAIN! AND IT MAY BE THE SAME IN YOUR CASE SO DON'T DO IT!
thanks to:
thomassafca - for providing .ftf file (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1221105&highlight=root)
iridaki - for original post with -36 libs (do not use libs provided in this post, they WILL work but I'm not sure about full compatibility) (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1382657)
Click them a "Thanks!" button, please!

Yes, this baseband will work with your ROM.
Some people (and me) say that baseband -36 provides the best connection with the carrier, no sudden signal losses, generally in every way is much better than baseband from -64.
I had some problems with -64 baseband such as sudden signal losses - my signal indicator in status bar sometimes was rapidly changing from 1 to 4 and suddenly showed "No signal. Only emergency calls"
With these -36 libs signal losses are gone, even the battery seems to last longer!
Ok maybe a dumb question but ill ask anyway. Is the baseband for the 800a the same as the baseband for 800i 368 firmware?
Could someone on the .368 firmware please post the " libtalk_jni.so file " ? I cant flash the firmware because Im r800x but I still need the lib file from it, anyones help would be a big help , sorry for slighty unrelated post

Quick Review :
- Everything works!
- New bootlogo (SONY), new bootanimation (Walkman) and new baseband 72, old kernel 2.6.32.9
- Games work fine, you might notice a little lag, but since the OS install is fresh maybe that is why. I tested temple run, the accelerometer works fine and touches are responsive as they should be (infact i feel higher fps, not sure though).
- Accelerometer in normal app rotations might be a lil slow as compared to CM7.2. But thats not a major problem is it?
- Walkman app, launcher are the same, but with new icons from NXT theme
- As compared to my friend's neo v on .562, this is smoooooth....infact just like 2.3.4, quick and responsive
- Camera is the same as on Minicmsandwich lite AOSP
- Phone app (Infinite view) is slow, but is now perfectly resized for mdpi
- Calender & Calculator are same
- Two galleries - Xperia gallery(similar to 2.3.4 gallery) and ICS standard gallery
- Little jerkiness while recording 720p with image stabilizer ON, with it off, no problems.
- Track ID still wont work for lost DRM keys, unless u install the new version from Play store.
- Brightness Levels are less as compared to non stock roms like CM7.2, etc.
- Battery life needs to be tested!!!

No relevance, you can flash any ftf just make sure of correct baseband and model. Either using generic international or ph. For me im using the international generic. I thnk d only diff is on some apps that are pre installed but the rest are all the same. Baseband is somehow relatd to our network frequency. Say 900/1800 etc and so on. Just flash the ftft and it will be just fine. Take note there are (2) types of wt19. One which has I and a on the end so choose wisely. For philippines I thnk wt19i is dominant, just check for the sticker on your box if its I or a.

[STOCK][C6843][Brazil][4.3] 14.2.A.1.136 [FTF][LB/UB]

For my Brazilian fellow users, I've just created and uploaded 14.2.A.1.136 C6843 FTF (latest official Sony 4.3 firmware). This is ONLY for the Brazilian Z Ultra model C6843.
If someone is wondering, this model is the same as the C6833 except it includes a digital TV tuner. So, while users with the C6843 can usually flash C6833 firmwares without issues (except losing the digital TV tuner function), I don't recommend the opposite.
This FTF should work on both locked and unlocked bootloaders.
@hamdogg , feel free to add this FTF to your FTF Depository.
Thanks:
@Apollo89 for his tutorial on FTF creation ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2334653 )
@Androxyde for his awesome Flashtool, without which this FTF could not have been created.

It's SemcTvLauncher.apk. The kernel is also slightly different, as it's compiled with support for the tuner hardware.

as it is an FTF then by default it will wipe the data partition, in flashtool you have the option of "un-ticking" the wipe data, but it might end up that you have an unstable firmware with lots of crashes.
