[MOD] Transition TW Effects for Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 - Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) Themes and Apps

I was bored a little bit and ported some nice transition effects to our galaxy note 10.1 2014.
Its tested on my sm-p605, but should work on sm-p600/601 too.

How to flash the MOD
Download the zips you want
Push the zips on your device
Better to make a Nandroid Backup before you flash
But not necessary, cause the stock tw animations are there too (flash it if something went wrong)
Boot into recovery
Look for the files where you placed it
Flash it with TWRP
Reboot, ready and enjoy

Thanks for this, I've been looking for transitions for this tab. I tried number 6 and it works fine on my p600 model (wifi only)
Sent from my Note 2014 using Tapatalk

Installed #6 on my P600 WiFi only with cleanrom and lost wifi.
Sweet transition but no wifi is a problem. Thanks anyways.
Sent from behind your couch while chillin with the Boogieman!

I dont think this came from the Mod. User 22sl22 installed the same like yours, has the same Note and no problems.

Running # 6 for more than 3 days now & don`t have a single issue, & WIFI is working flawlessly , I`m on P601.

My mistake. I installed #5, not #6. Whatever the case, lost WiFi. No 2 butts about it, the on of switch was grey and it just said turning on. Cycling airplane mode or rebooting changed nothing. Restored a nandroid from twrp and all was good again.
What works for some may not work for others, anyone versed in android and flashing custom mods knows this. To say it probably wasn't the mod when that was all that was changed is idiotic.
Sent from my SM-N900T using XDA Premium HD app

I tested all Mods on my device, never had a problem with it. But my device is a p605. Maybe one of the p600 owners could test #5 if it will work. But make a nandroid before.

Have tested 5 on my P601 before & was just fine, P600 & P601 are similar in all aspects except phone capability & 3G within P601.

Just to be clear. Using cleanrom v2. Did a full wipe with format data. Fresh install of rom, then transition mod. Wifi turns on @ initial setup, but takes about 30 seconds. Once I enter password, I get a fail to connect error and wifi cycles off and back on. Without a doubt, #5 has an issue on the p600 wifi only model.
If I have to make a video and toss it on YouTube to get the point across, I will.

Hi @siralsmooth
Is it possible you try my test file? Its attached. Did you tried one of the other files or only #5?
If the test file works good, i reupload all files again.

I can test later. @ work now.

Tested.
And unfortunately it still breaks wifi.
This is the result. Tablet has been on for about 5 min now.

Try this fix : After flashing this transition or any , wipe cache & dalvick within TWRP ,then restart.

Try flashing Dutch danny's custom kernel. Fixed issues i had with dh inverted apps. Stock kernel wifi doesn't turn back on, they fixed it in cudt I m kernel
Sent from my SM-P600 using xda app-developers app

Not sure just what is in the zip as far as scripts for the mods, but I took the existing framework-res.apk, and extracted the xml files from the zip, and copied them back into the existing file. And voila, all works again. Something in the the zip breaks the wifi. Idunno what causes it, but not the transition mods themselves.
Perhaps it would be wise to download the cleanrom and extract the framework-res.apk and compare to your base. All is working now, just not through flashing the zip file.

I was holding off on the custom kernel until a few more bugs were worked out. It's my understanding that Dutch Danny now has a Note10.1 in his possession to work out the bugs firsthand. I previously had used his kernel, but was troubleshooting issues caused my mods I had installed via Xposed installer for samsung phones. Main issue I've had, both with stock kernel and Danny's, is the occasional freeze, followed by a reboot (kernel lockup), when I wake the tablet from streaming music.

Just wanted to say that these do work on kitkat.
Tested number 6 on my P600, WiFi only. Running xkat rom 3.0 :good:

I have been running the Apr-17-13 build since you released it. I just wanted to let you know I have only noticed one small bug. When you enable expanded desktop and rotate the screen to landscape (in the browser for example), then exit and go into an application that is only portrait mode (Netflix, Flipboard, Faux123 are a few examples), the orientation is locked in landscape mode. This can be corrected by going into another app (browser for example), going into portrait mode and locking the rotation. This is the only bug I have seen so far, and it is not a major one by any means.
Again, thanks for the great rom.

"Chameleon OS (or ChaOS for short) is a custom Android ROM that gives the user more control than they can experience on any other Android ROM. Starting with a CyanogenMOD base, we customize each piece to give ultimate control while maintaining the simplicity we all love about Android. The most notable feature of ChaOS is the theme engine, which can apply different pieces of themes in a true mix-and-match style. The launcher has been completely overhauled with tons of options that you'd normally need to download a third-party launcher for, such as home screen previews, folder sorting, and folder icon styles. The Messaging app has also had some UI retouches, including messaging bubbles and quick emoji button."

Nice work. I love the MIUI theme engine. When I used to play with MIUI I used a different launcher anyway. Daddy needs his app drawer
How do we get .zip themes to play nice with this (from the miui forums)? Also after resetting theme my theme manager fc's no matter what. Thanks for the hard work!
I haven't run into the FC of Theme Manager. Did you wipe and format system? As for themes, it takes the native ctz chameleon themes and V4 MIUI mtz themes.

love the theme and the bootanimation .. one thing wanted is that when press home button, it gives the overall view of all screens so for a fraction , the widgets of the screens next to the home screens remains for a second in and goes off ..another thing is whenever i drag an app to home screen after reboot the name of the app goes off , not a problem for me but maybe for oders !! Other than the feel is superb ... thanks fr amazing ROM.

Very nice and slick rom so far. A few issues I've stumbled upon.
* GPS does not work (no lock, no satellites detected)
* restoring calls from android tuner free breaks Contacts.
* restoring sms from android tuner free restores in random order.
* pushing the mic on the default android keyboard brings up voice typing, which immediately FCs and then the keyboard will not work again until you disable voice typing in the settings.
Good luck and keep up the good work.

I ended up using houcha kernel and my GPS started working again. And it looks like android tuner free has different backup formats for both calls and sms between 4.1 and 4.2. SMS Backup and Restore worked fine bringing sms from 4.1 to 4.2, but ATF required a backup on 4.2 in order to restore to 4.2 for calls. Still can't get the messages to restore in the right order though.
Still, now moderately more functional in those buggy areas. :good:
One problem i noticed is that whenever i drag an app to home screen after reboot the name of the app goes off ... !

Procedure
If you are coming from a different ROM, data/factory reset is mandatory. If you are flashing over a previous SlimKat build, cache wipe will be sufficient.
You will need to flash the latest recovery ( CWM or TWRP ) mentioned above for a successful flash.
A nandroid backup is recommended prior to flashing SlimKat in case you get into problems.
Flash the recovery using Odin
Flash ROM from recovery. Reboot.
Reboot to recovery and flash GApps.
A little more detailed guide is available here.
What's working and what's not
Pretty much everything!!! For exfat support, flash the zip attached to this post. Note that exfat support has been added to the rom from RC2.

lcd density is set at 182 by default. If font is too small, change it in the build.prop inside the rom zip file before flashing. The entry to change is given below.
Code:
ro.sf.lcd.density
Notepad++ is preferred to make the change.
Respect. You make me always running follow your work dude. Must try.

Rom can't handle heavy loads. Tried installing an apk and an app fro play store and it caused a reboot.
Also, Xposed framework isn't working.
Also pinch zoom isn't working.

I have installed 41 apps with no reboots. Not sure about exposed framework becoz I don't use it.
You will have issues. That's why its a beta release.

Anyone having probs with GPS?
EDIT: possible bug: GPS receiver not working. I have 3 apps telling that GPS is disabled while this is enabled. (so no signal going from antenna to app)

Should be good unless you have camera issues like past kernels. Which is fixable
Ok.Testing now with Sixperience v3.1 (S7 edge port for g900f) and even ported S7 camera works with none fc..
So far great.....

I nearly went blind trying to read that text, I think I found the download for the kernel
flashing for super awesomeness now...
So help needed- I need suggestions for new kernel setting apps. Preferably something I can add download support to. Kernel Adiutor seems to have gone dead and hasn't had any update in over 3 months.

I've been using Kernel Toolkit for over a year now. I have never had any major problems with it. It also gets updated on a pretty regular basis.

Was checking that out but I'm not paying to use features that are in free apps normally or expecting anyone to pay to use the kernel. Otherwise really good app

I've been using Kernel Auditor for a year and no problems here & the good thing is that it has profiles easy to save and restore..

System Tuner has some capabilities.
Thank you for doing this for us s5 owners.
How can I get rid of that volte icon? And I keep losing my WiFi connections on restart. I've read about a fix before but I can't find it.
Will run it and see how it goes, performance seems to be react to input quicker! Thanks again!

volte= open dialer> 3 dots at the top>call settings and toggle volte off
wifi password= open build prop that has root access and find ro.secure.storage=true change it to false
Installed and I lost root. Also had a ton of random reboots I tried almost all of the governors and still random reboots. I'm running the latest version of Thunderbolt, maybe that could be the reason why. I know @malbert16442 has an alpha MM stock Rom so maybe it's only compatible with similar roms. Idk I just know that I had a ton of Issues on Thunderbolt.

Yeahhh If you're running a s6, s7, note 5 or any kind of port from another device I will disregard any bug you report and don't want any bug reports from them.
I don't do rom ports, and won't even attempt to adjust to them.

Yeah that's what I figured, that's why it was so buggy. I'll wait until I can test @malbert16442 new rom, you always put out quality work so that's why I thought it was strange I should have known better though :silly:
