[Q] Changing Boot Animation HTC One Max - HTC One Max

Has anybody had any luck changing the Boot Animation on their One max? Ive tried manually and through the use of 3rd party installer, but no matter what, the default Boot Animation always loads. I was curious to know if anybody else has been able to do it

unlock bootloader and flash. works for me. i had a bad flash, rewrote boot.img. all worked fine.

Maybe we should clarify here. are you referring to the bootloader.img or the Boot Animation on startup of the Stock Rom?

No... not bootloader.img... bootanimation.zip

My apologies Gentlemen. I just realized my thread title was misleading.

looking at your Avitar, that is understandable..

I know sprint use spcs_startup_animation.zip and htc_downanimation.zip or you can change the file name line in these xml files to just bootanimation.zip and downanimation.zip and any of them will just use boot and down animation.zip

Yea thanks, I figured there was a step I might have been missing. I went as far as to rename bootanimation.zip to htc_downanimation.zip but the rename alone didn't have any effect. I will try editing the xml files.

I liked and I had to have it done.
I decided to share with you
v2 - bootanimation.zip (landscape mode)
v2 - bootanimation.zip (portrait mode)
I recommend the one in lendscape mode, but for those who just want bootanimation in portrait mode (slightly elongated ).... I made it.
Added a bootsound
Enjoy
Would this also work as a down animation if named and permissioned correctly? I'm no themer and have never attempted creating my own boot/down anims and thus have no idea the effort required to make them. If no, any chance you would be willing to tweak it to work as a down animation? Thanks much in advance, I really like this.

I have not tried it like downanimation, but it should work.
It seems to me that just might be too long, so it should be shortened a bit
Rename it and try if it works.
If somethings needs changing tell me what it is and I'll try to modify it.
thanks

That's a slick animation my friend! Thanks.

I make a bootanimation sound...
If I remember correctly, you need to put android_sound.mp3 to /system/customize/resource/ directory
P.S.
After download, rename android_audio.mp3.$$$ to android_audio.mp3
Anyone have this bootanimation modified without the text at the end?
I tried doing it from my phone and the animation goes for about 70% of what it should be, stutters and then loops. Created it on my pc and got the same result....
I've modified countless boot animations before...but now I'm stuck like a noob...
Thanks.

MIUI Boot Screen

Where is it located? Id like to get rid of it and not have a boot screen.
I used Root Toolbox PRO for removing it. It worked like a charm.

Propably depends on a phone. I have it in /system/media/bootanimtion.zip
P.S. Removing the bootanimation will set the default android bootanimation (blue text of "android") << to remove this You should edit Your framework-res.apk

Thats fine as long as there isnt an animation. I have a friend with the same phone as I do and it takes his phone less than 10 seconds to boot. It takes mine around 5 minutes.
EDIT- Deleting the boot animation in the system/media folder didnt get rid of the boot screen.

As usual, rename the zip file to TMOUS_bootanimation.zip and put into system/customize/resources. Put the sound file in the same folder and rename to android_audio.mp3. Edit default.xml if you're having difficulties.
Here's another one
I'm ahead of schedule and made this one too. Also NFS, but only portrait.

I'm on stock TMobile rom, so I wouldn't know where to put them. But I think you can gain more insight by analyzing the default.xml file found in system/customize/CID
Will do that, thanks

Hi, months ago i made one from the jb leak (i just took pics, moved them into folders and created a new desc.txt to get a working bootanim), available here : http://ge.tt/api/1/files/4TZI58R/31/blob?download
It's a flashable .zip then you can flash or extract it if you want.

Thanks! How will I flash this on CWM or push to system/media?
I was modifying my post when you answered.
It's a flashable .zip, so you've the choice.

I flashed it, it's displaying but the problem is it's not animating. The blur stuck on the upper left.
I flashed it again but not any problem appeared. Try to flash it again and if there is still this problem, make a photo if you can.
edit : Ok sorry it was a test bootanim. lol
Right boot animation : http://ge.tt/api/1/files/4TZI58R/31/blob?download
I guess there's a problem, when finished I flashed the zip, it automatically reboots when its about to finish and ddint say its finished or what.
For the reboot that's normal.
I wrote "Redémarrage..." at the end, "reboot" in french and on the update-script of the bootanimations i modified, i added a run_program("/sbin/reboot"); to automatically reboot.
As i said it was my fault, i gave you the link of my test bootanimation, not the right which is working.
hahahaha okay a test, anyways thank you
The new one works good ?

[Q] Custom boot animation goes to black screen

Hi! I'm trying to make my own boot animation (A simple android kitkat logo), but when I put it in /system/media/bootanimation.zip and reboot the phone, it goes to black screen.
I followed the steps described in that guide and read that post, but they didn't share the solution and the mediafire link is dead.
Can anyone help? I'm attaching my current bootanimation.zip

Thanks, but again, I don't want something that does it for me, I want to be able to do it myself.
So, the compression is wrong, which compression should I use in order to make it work?
