[How To][D802+RayGlobeFlex 4.0+Dorimanx 2.1 ] 10 hr + Screen on with data / Wi Fi - G2 General

Firstly, a big huge thanks to @dorimanx and @acer73 for their work on Kernel ( V2.1) and Rom. without them this would not be possible. :silly:
Disclaimer :You do this at your own risk, Neither I not the Devs mentioned above are responsible for the outcome. Although i will try to help as much as i can.
Here we go, I have been using the Combo mentioned in thread title for quite a few days now and posted my battery results in the Kernel thread! 10 hrs of screen on time is not something seen too often in smartphone world with stock battery with 2G on during the day and Wi Fi on throughout the night.
Following this i got a load of PM's to share my settings / config.
So here goes, Guys and gals, i d like to share my setup ! :highfive:
I ll split this up into parts on how I go about it .
NANDROID and back up all your important data !
Firstly, I always clean install Rom and as soon as i am done, I freeze system apps using titanium backup: here is a list below which has not caused me any errors.
BE careful though, try linking the service name with any apps that you use, i have disabled according to my usage.
1) Accessibility 4.0.37
2) Direct Beam 1.0.45
3) DLNA 2.9.0
4) DRM Service 4.2.2
5) DRM Protected Content Storage 4.2.2
6) E-mail
7) Favourite contacts Widget
8) GNSS Ait Rest 4.2.2
9) GnssTest 1.2 4.2.2
10) Google Backup transport 4.2.2
11) LG Backup 4.0.30
12) LG GNSS 1.0
13) LG Intelligent Agent 0.6.1
14) LG MLT 2.5.2
15) LG SetupWizard 4.3.019
16) NFC Service 4.2.2
17) PC Suit Service3.3.0
18) PC Suit UI 3.0.002
19) Picasa Uploader 1.3.242047
20) Remote Support Service 1.0.2.4
21) Remote Call Service 4.0.19
22) Slide aside 4.0.18
23) Smart Screen 1.1.44
24) ShartShare Beam 1.0.59
25) SmartShare Push 1.2.1.61
26) SmartshareProvider 1.0.14
27) Streaming Player 4.5.8
28) Text Link 4.3.18
29) Text Link Engine 1.7.0
30) Unified EULA 4.0.12
31) Unused aoos 1.000…
32) VOIP Call 3.4.82
Uninstalled system apps totally depend on you , I remove all the crap that LG has put in along with some apps that come with Rayglobe Flex 4.0 such as the FB apps you can see at the end of the system app list in Titanium backup.
If you are not sure,Freeze them ! :cyclops:
Reboot your system and check to see if it is stable without Force closes, if you face any, try defrosting apps you think may be the cause ... trial and error here.
Now you have a nice clean and stable system to work with. DO A NANDROID as this is your new clean, stable base, useful for future
Go ahead and restore user apps and data now.
Secondly, Disable Service Available on market. This is a handy little tool which will disable services which run in the background. Be more careful with this because one service could stop a lot of apps!
Swipe to System tab – Unchecked = Disabled! Apps frozen previously will automatically appear as disabled services.
1) Chrome – Totally disabled everything as I use Opera browser.
2) Google Service Framework
Disabled Suscribed FeedsSyncAdapter service,
PushMessagingRegistrarProxy, | - Users report not receiving push notifications from apps with these 2 (in red) disabled, but i do not face the same issue.
PushMessagingRegistrar |
StatusUploadService.
3) LG Backup – Completely disabled all services
4) Direct Beam – Completely disabled all services
5) DLNA – Completely disabled all services
6) LG GNSS – Completely disabled all services
7) Google Play Service –
Disabled All Games* Services ( I do not like to play with Google play services unless sure J )
Reboot again and check if all is good for your use. We are done here !
Step 3 we come to very basic Kernel settings, Dori has taken care of the rest :highfive:
I donot use TricksterMod or FauxClock and have removed permissions for them from SuperUser, instead i use Kernel Tuner available on market in combination to the infamous STweaks app which comes with kernel.
Kernel Tuner App
Click 'CPU' button
I have set all cores to Min 300Mhz and Max 2496Mhz .
Link all cores - Unchecked
CPU Governor (0 to 3) all on Ondemandplus.
Voltage Button:
I am heavily undervolted - 300Mhz @ 725Mv and 2496Mhz @ 1020Mv -- Be careful with this guys, as too low may freeze and force reboots, each device can handle only a certain level under volting so start of with steps of -25 Mv and increment it till it becomes unstable and now you know how much your device can handle
Governor Button
Untouched - Stock Dorimanx values
Misc Button
Fast Charge on - Duh !
Scheduler - SIO - Love it !
Sd Card Cache -512
And we are done here too! Reboot !
Finally , LidroidToolBox App, Not sure if this is still available in market or not but i have this from old back ups ( try google for it ) , basically look for an app which can control auto start of apps, both during boot and on connect to internet.
Click Auto Start button Here we control what starts up on boot and what starts up on connect to network, so i leave this up to your discretion depending on your needs.
i have disabled everything except the following :
On Boot
Settings 4.0.54
SuperSU1.91
ConfigUpdater 4.2.2
Google Service Framework 4.2.2
Google play store
LGATCMD Service 4.2.2
LGApduService
Com.lge.defaultaccount.receiver.ReceiverBootUp 3.0.0
com.lgefota.permissions.DMCTargetValidationReviever 4.2.2
Home 4.2.2.22
Lock Screen Settings 4.11.10
Settings Storage 4.0.00
System UI 4.2.2
Media Storage 4.2.2
Dual Window 20131028
SIM Tool kit 4.2.2
com.qualcomm.qcrilmsgtunnel.....
Audio Effect Service 1.0
Music Volume EQ 2.3
Kernel Tuner ( Used above)
On Connect
Google Service Framework 4.2.2
Com.lge..lgdmsgcm.connectivityReciever 1.0
And thats it ! good to go. Results Below! :highfive:
2 hrs 35 mins screen on time and 68 % battery

With the stock version (Wifi on) it uses 1% per 3 hours, so if it's the same i would be very happy

PushMessagingRegistrarProxy,

I get whatsapp notifications instantly even when screen off, cant say the same about gmail though as i don't auto-sync.

Try closing your internet connection then opening it again, this should cause it not to receive notifications. Also try a few minutes after turning the screen off.

MiniCM7-2.1.7 (Gingerbread 2.3.7/CM7.2)

First I would like to thank nAa for the great work. I wanted to post to the thread for MiniCM7 but i cant. (I a newbie in the forums and a n00b)
Problems:
Had issues with restoring apps. Sound was disabled (actually forced closed) after restoring apps with titanium back up. Fixed by just installing the apps without system settings.
Battery drains. ~5% per hour (haven't calibrated yet, will try later)
As I go to about the thread there are numerous problems with KB lights and WiFi but haven't encountered those. For the camera i will test it as well.
Suggestion/Request:
Can you add a note pad app? (Ill check in market if there is an app for that* [ I'm just using prepaid sim so i don't have the luxury of going online all the time ])
Regarding Contacts is it possible to make a group?
With Messaging is it also possible to tap into contacts so you can add more contacts easily. (I know there are apps for that but i want my phone to be clean and no conflicts with the existing messaging app)
Again thanks a bunch! And I hope I can reach ten post so i can go to the thread and add more inputs.
*Isn't that an IPhone tag line?
OT: Thanks XDA and more power.
OT2: Sorry for my English.

thats one of the downsides to this ROM, i found that i cant multi select the contacts i wanna send text to, you will have to type each persons name individually and then select them.
i been using nAa ROM and kernel for 1 week now
So after a few days of tinkering with my toy. here's what i have.
*battery drains - never got fixed even tried undevolt. have to charge my phone twice a day. calibration seem to have no effect at all.
*KB lights - no issues since first porting
*wifi - little buggy but i just forget the network then log back to the network and it works.
*camera - no trouble just like KB lights
*note pad - i just use my drafts for it no trouble really.
*groups and contacts to messaging - just used go launcher for the mean time
Hi
About battery with smart tass v2, it improve my battery. I ussually go to application - debugging. And unmark "ubication paralels"
about Camara try youtube setting in video, it is less buggy.
About keyboard in x10 mini pro go to CYD setting - screen - automatic light screen - edit others levels... in keyboard write 155 135 85 50 0. Test in a dark room
About wifi, I think the problem is hardware always I have the same problem.
about notepad... what?? Use virtualrecord to record your notes is faster I think.
(ssorry about comand my phone is in spanish the translation is bad)
thanks luisecp for the suggestions.
about my battery i give up on it and just live with it.
as mentioned i have no trouble with my cam and the KB lights
WiFi well i have my fix and that is never to install the settings
is virtual record a voice recorder? i somehow want a visual not a voice one.
thanks again.
Update: I can seem to send or retrieve any mms if i don't enable data traffic which was not the case with the stock version. correct me if I'm wrong but i beleive when you send or retrieve mms the data is automatically enable and disabled after sending or retrieving.

Yes you can, kernel does not depend on the previous versions, when you flash a kernel it completely overwrites the previous version.
I've just flashed yesterday from miniCM7.2.17 nAa08 to miniCM7.2.18 nAa10.
I've found that minicm7.2.17 with nAa10 is a bit buggy and slow, so i guess if you flash the new kernel you should flash the new minicm7 as well.

Yes, i think you have to re-flash gapps. I had to in the past, when upgrading.
i had really crappy battery life so i tried turning off my data,it really helps.at least for me.

data off it goes no problems for 13-14 hours
once with data off managed to go up to 2days and 19hours i think

[Feedback] Adrenaline ROM™

Hello imbawind,
First of all thank you for your rom which is exceptional.
There are still some problems:
- 3 new patch does not work
- My GPS does not work
- Can not import Google calendar
- Is it possible to recover the email application and the weather widget / current base?
Well, that's all! The rest is wonderful! A great big thank you!
Sorry for my english, I'm French and I use Google Translation.
Alexandre
Mistake on my part but the GPS works perfectly!
No problem with the All patch Patch (1 ~ 5) that as of today!
It's a shame we can not be traced directly to the problems regarding the ROM (New Member: To unlock all capabilities of XDA ...)
Imbawind thank you for the updates!
It's a damn good ROM. Everything works fine, just a few remarks:
-Play store hides many compatible apps and show many more incompatible ones
-APNs are deleted, restoring takes forever and does nothing
-Notifications in upper bar can extend over center clock
-Pushing apps from pc market just does not happen right after flashing, needed some messing around
All the way, thank you!
uuhm OP I suggest you just PM him ^.^

I mean have you ever used the desktop version of the market (now google play) to push apps to your phone by just clicking install? Well this didn't use to work at the very beginning, right after flashing your ROM. I don't know what I did, but after some time I was able to get it right.
When I try to connect the USB tethering, it connects, but immediately after appears the message USB connected and the tethering check box becomes unchecked.
Did this happened to anyone else?
Can this be a baseband problem?
My baseband is WKS2.
Please help.

Good evening imbawind,
Well, I just start from scratch and everything is really perfect. A big thank you.
I'll do a summary of procedures for the other:
- Creation ext4 (512M) and swap (256M) on the SD via CWM
- Complete wipe
- Installing the ROM Adrenaline
- Reboot and return on CWM to install the patch all-in-one
- Reboot and return to install the patch CWM Google Contacts and Google Calendar
It works well and the phone is 100% reactive
Now the only thing I miss is some application of the stock ROM:
- The application email (I do not like K9-mail and other)
- The news and weather widget the stock rom
- The google search widget
Is it possible to recover the apk for independent installation of the rom?
Anyway, thank you again.
Alexandre
Good evening,
To retrieve Email, GenieWidget, Memo and FMRadio, I tried to make a zip with an example of the ROM addons SanGingerAce * SL2 application but email does not work at all.
Is it possible to propose an addon of this type there?
Alexandre
Hello,
I just created an archive to restore the following applications:
- GenieWidget
- Email
- FMRadio
- Memo
The zip is for use with CWM (system mount).
Sincerely,
Good evening,
For a complete reinstall, my GPS does not work anymore. Unable to use Google Maps or Navigation.
Does anyone have the same problem?
In the previous installation, I use the patch separately and at last, I used the allinone ...
Hi there,
I have no 3G at all, cannot use the internet or play store due to no internet connection. Packet Data etc is all enabled and I have whiped data and re flashed numerous times but 3g will not work. If i press the power button on the side it says data network mode deactive but it will not change to active. Im on Orange UK. P.S All other roms work fine with 3g so Its not my phone/sim?.
Thanks
The second edition works great, apart from the gps, it still does not lock. Its not that i need it anyway, im using the baseband that came with the stock rom if that is required, wkt3 if i'm not mistaken. Apart from that all good, maybe it could be little less barebones but i can surely deal with flashing addons through CWM. As i said earlier, GPS is not essential in any way for me, but if there is a time i'll actually need it i'd rather have it working . Great stuff, love it.
Edit: Just for the sake of experimentation, i've reflashed the rom and installed maps from the store and it now locks! Dunno if it was a titanium backups fault previously, but i have to take my little 'accusation' back . GPS now works, will test again tomorrow when i'll be on the move. Great, great work, much better than the other, 'rival' rom
Why don't post at my rom thread?

Just a suggestion : would u be kind enough to provide the stock music player as an addon, cause IMHO google music has some kind of sub par sound compared to the stock one. I've flashed beats audio and it has some issues on my earbuds, creative ep 600 something, thus not entirelly ****ty headphones. ok i'll add
I've flashed this ROM yesterday and everything is smooth, battery life is also great. Just one thing is link2sd working on it? I tried but even linking all apps the internal storage is nearly full.
I guess something is wrong, look at Where's my water example:
Installed on SD card nice and easy, but when I try to link it I receive a message saying that there's no free space, so does it moves to somewhere in the internal storage?
I really could use some help here, and congrats to the devs for the amazing job

[APP] Greenify - a whole new CONCEPT.

I came across this app while I was looking for something in play store.
it won't freeze your apps, or even kill their processes. But rather, put your background apps (that you select) into HIBERNATION.
"Greenified" apps are automatically hibernated when you're not using them, so you'll always have enough free RAM + Much longer battery life.
I strongly recommend you give it a try. At your own risk of course.
download: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.oasisfeng.greenify&hl=en
XDA Thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2155737
UPDATE : Donation version now allow hibernating System apps.
LOL, I guess like 90%+ members should know about this already. It's pretty much the only power saver app I haven't removed and would recommend - all of the rest, in my experience, have done much more harm than good.
does what it says perfectly - nothing more nothing less and most importantly no annoyances - one of my all time favourites

Only problem being that it shows only apps with widgets or that anyone will probably use and won't block (or "greenify")... so totaly useless... to me at least.

I'm not sure I understand this. You can greenify any app. Just press the '+' button on the top right corner and you get a list of all the apps.

It is nothing but a task killer.
Kills the process after idle time.
confirmed it from Setting-Applications-Running Applications.[ And Other task killers too]
Check out and let me know.
^^nope it isn't a task killer it just hibernates the service so that it doesn't consume any cpu cycles unnecessarily afaik
---------------------------------------------------------
" Maximus Decimus Meridius, commander of the Armies of the North, General of the Felix Legions and loyal servant to the TRUE emperor"
Don't go on the description.
I've observed with Facebook app.
The service restarts Every time.
You can feel the excessive leading time.
There is nothing like hibernation.
yes it does kill the app after ideal time, and the good thing that it works, other battery saver only kill app temporary and it will restart automatically again.
don't use it with apps like what's app or viber skype,,, etc
you will not receive calls ir chats untill you reopen the app, personally I am using it with secondary apps like kik and facebook twitter, ,, etc
apps that I dont want to get notified instantly

Greenify caused me problems. Swiftkey keyboard waked up my phone some times, so i Greenify it. But when i wanted to use it, all i got was a black screen. Only after i removed the battery the problem solved.
Generally this programme is useful for Facebook, eBay, Tapatalk. And only if you don't want notifications from these apps.
Can't use it (there is no point) in Viber, clock - temperature - diary widgets, battery monitoring programmes, setCPU programmes, WiFi Toggler programmes, call recording programmes, Cerberus or "where's my DROID" programmes.
For me is useless.

battery drain in sm 10.1 legacy xperia

I am using cm 10.1 legacy xperia nightly build 20130722 along with naa kernel v3.4.53 that came with the rom on my live with Walkman.....
and I have a big battery drain issue on my phone. In 1 and a half hour my battery reduces by almost 10% that too with only some normal usage like listening music etc...it cant be because of the apps since I haven't installed any apps yet other than gmail and hangouts. Other than this all the other features are working perfectly well and I love this rom....but if the battery keeps on draining like this I will have to change the rom...PLSS HELP ME..
also I read somewhere that the battery drain is due to kernel and not the rom...so should I chnge the kernel or is there any other fix for it..
I would have posted in the developer forum but since I am new to the forum I am not allowed to post there...
thnxx in advance:good:
Try to freshly install the rom. Or just install your previous Rom that worked for you the best.
Well...I'll try reinstalling the rom but I want to know what is causing this problem is it the rom or kernel..

thats because of wakelock bro, you can minimise it by reducing brightness, sleep at minimum(15sec)
if possible try to manually lock device it it wakes up
But I always keep the brightness to 50% and my phone does sleep after 15 sec of inactivity

Is your GPS activated? Just tap the usage graph to show more details.
I experience battery drain on that rom if GPS is activated once. Altough the phone says it's turned of, it still consumes a lot of battery power.
Here's the detailed report....

thats nothing new ... on this rom (all JB roms bcuz our devices arent maked for it and it still needs some big development here... )
but here some tips which i get more battery (i use JV-EX which is based on LX..)
- deactivate sync, gps,bt,rotation and activate only if u need them!
- i use gpu rendering in development settings - gives some battery..
- delete all useless (only if u know which app this is) apps in system/app (fast-dormancy.apk is a wakeclock from sony media apps from iiandskater.. )
- use the apps 'greenify' & 'disable service' to disable useless stuuf / wakeups at least u can also disaple some apps in settings to avoid them to start & wasting ur ram....
- NO OVERCLOCK !
- do some build prop tweaks! (from thread) helps also a bit..
-some (my) values in advanced performance setting's min/max centisecs = 500 ; i set dirty ratio to 20.. also ondemand semms to be the battery friendly cpu governor
hope it helps

It is a wakelock, because it keeps an eye on the data connection - keeps tracking, how much of the bandwidth is used. If less is used, power consumption is decreased for longer battery life.

The states, which were mentioned in the forum, which I linked to, apply to 3G/HSPA connection only.
It is not necessary for media apps, though it can guarantee continuous broadcasting (and make sure video/song gets loaded fast) and changes state when data connection is not necessary, in order to save battery.
Similar issue
Similar issue here.
I've Flashed CM 10.2 Legacy Xperia NIGHTLY along with the included Kernel (3.4.59-nAa) and some core Gapps couple days ago, and now i'm experiencing some heavy battery drain (Even with mobile data, wifi, gps off). Battery stats show, that most of the drain comes from Google Services.
The phone was going 100 to 0 in two to three days, now it lasts 6-7 hrs with almost no phone usage.
Any ideas what can be done?
Nevertheless, Thnx to all the guys working on this project - I like this ROM a lot. Everything seems to be working fine. :good:
EDIT:
Well, seems like I was looking for a solution in the wrong place and with the wrong keywords. After some time researching forum, i found out, that the drain is caused by some location service within Google Services, and the work around this bug is to switch WiFi location in google settings, and in google maps. For more information just search forum for "Google Services battery drain".

is it Huawei or Android problem ? (Delay/Missing) notification

i just moved from Sony to Huawei last week . i got Mate 10 pro
device is nice and battery is great and fast and everything was perfect with me from the first look.
then by installing my daily use apps i noticed some problems are showing and not only me as i sow some users here are complaining it .
it is killing all apps and get no advantage of any app i want it to push a notification and reminder for me .
actually any app i use for reminders and notification are not working perfectly
for example i have tried 3 apps for prayer reminders and non of them worked for a complete day , it works once and the next it gets another delay , and last it gets missed .
also i have a call recorder which is working perfectly on my Xperia Z3 but here it is not recording every single call .
also i have app called BlipBlip for hourly peeping ... same issue .
any to-do app , caller identifier (truecaller,numberbook ....)
i tried to make the Ignore battery optimization
i changed the settings in Launch battery
still no luck
any permanent solution please ?

If you enable Power saving mode then your device automatically kills background applications.
Try by disable power saving mode.
In settings, You will also manage that which apps show notifications and which are not.
All customization of notifications are avaliable in setting e.g. Notification on lock screen, notification on status bar, status bar icon. Hope it helps. Hit Thankx

of course i am not using the power save mode ,
i put the app in the "Ignore battery optimization" list .
i put the app in the manual option in "Launch" and allowed everything to run in background .
i enabled the app in the n"Notification Management" section
what else i can do to prevent the device from killing the app ?
still i have this problem from time to time .
note : yesterday the app worked perfectly and i have got all notification and i thought i have solved the problem finally ,
but today it comes back again and start worry again .

Have you tried by factory data reset?
I mean hard reset through stock recovery.
Be sure to remove your id otherwise you device stick in FRP lock.
Happens for me still with Disa (my facebook and sms messaging app).
It's really ****ty.
This is a hard one for sure! Is it Android or is it Huawei? I think it's a combination of both! We all shouted praise when we first heard of Doze...but now we curse the day we heard of it! LOL
On most of my phones I have had issues with Gmail notifications not coming in as quickly as I thought they should, and I still experience slight delays on my Mate 10 (non-pro) version. However, it seems that after I open Gmail for the first time in the day and get my first notification then it works OK for the rest of the day. My texts, using Textra, always come in right away and I have both apps set up the same way on the phone pertaining to battery, background, and notifications. So Gmail is the harder one to get working as it should. But is it Doze, or is it Huawei and EMUI? Personally, I think it should be left up to one or the other but NOT both! And whichever one implements a battery saving feature should provide CLEAR and CONCISE instructions on making it work the way we want it to. Huawei has implemented several convoluted methods to the way battery saving and notifications work and they are not mutually exclusive...in other words, they can conflict with each other...that is bad enough. But when you layer this ON TOP of Android's Doze (which has no apparent way to configure it) this just leads to a mess in trying to figure out what is causing the delays! So then, I feel that Android to needs to take control of this issue and force all OEM's to follow a standard for battery control so that it is the same across the board no matter what phone we are using.

This is not an Android doze problem. Its Huawei battery management process killing all running apps. I had a sony xz premium running Oreo and not a single problem. Now I'm using Pixel 2 XL and not a signle problem. Its definitely Huawei that restricts notifications due to battery management. This is what stopped me getting the Mate 10 pro. Awesome phone but with notifications not coming through makes the phone useless
I also had the XZ Premium and I agree that it did not have this issue. But my Mate 10 (non-pro) really does not have it that bad. I really do not even notice it. I do shut off my phone every night. I have said in many different forums that I feel that a daily restart of all cell phones is good for keeping things running smoothly. Takes a minute of your time while brushing your teeth in the morning. Maybe this will help someone with more serious issues??
cmon people ...it's not that hard
...go to settings - battery - launch -
from there you can disable or enable specific battery management for each app to be able to launch, be launched by other apps and run in background
they are set to to be managed automatically by default, any app you are having issues being killed just open the launch settings and set them manually.
I set this up when i got the phone and i never have any issues with missing any notifications that i want to see plus my battery lasts for 2-3 days.

The problem with your reasoning is that Gmail is not listed there! This is the only one that seems to delay for me, but as I mentioned it is not that bad. Then again, I am not waiting for, or getting, anything in my personal email that needs super immediate attention. But there may be someone who needs their Gmail to notify them as soon as they receive an email. Thus the complaint!
Welcome the sh*ty world of Huawei

I'm not surprised with Huawei and notifications problems.... This 2 goes together.
First with Mate 8 the first 4 months, then with Mate 9 the first 2 months and now with Mate 10 pro as you mentioned
To be honest I have Mate 10 (no pro) and from the first day I didn't have any problem with "stock mail app, Facebook, Facebook messanger, Viber, Twitter, Instagram, whatsup, weather widget"
But please try this one.... It was the solution I follow with Chinese version of Mate 9 : Open every app that you want instant notification and "locked" it to recent apps and keep it there.... If you have already try this then there isn't much more to do so think of a hard reset or change device.... As for Android 8 I have a s9+ together with Mate 10 and both are manage notifications perfectly....

That is an interesting proposition! I have never used that particular lock before...in fact I can honestly say that at first I didn't know what you were talking about. I guess I never paid any attention to the little lock on those previously opened apps. Not sure if it will work yet or not but I did mention that after I opened Gmail the first time it appeared as if the notifications came in properly. So if this works then I should not have to open Gmail first thing in the morning to get the notifications flowing! Thank you so much for this suggestion! :good:
