Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 Enclosure with Vesa mount? - Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 Accessories

So we have a use case for these at work and I'm chomping at the bit to buy 20 or more of them except... I have no enclosure to mount them in. I've scoured the internets up and down trying to find a enclosure that has vesa mounting options. Preferably I would like a stainless enclosure but I would take acrylic or molded plastic.
I'm looking for something like Armor Active or Galaxy Enclosures makes. I've reached out to Armor Active and they've sent it to engineering for preliminary pricing on a stainless enclosure. I of course would be paying the majority of the initial design costs for something they'll then be able to sell to everyone. Hooray for the bleeding edge!
Anyways, if you 12.2 fans come across anything with vesa mounting let me know. At this point I would even consider using something like a rugged Gumdrop or Otterbox case and drilling holes for mounting as a temp solution. Let me know any thoughts or if anyone knows another company that makes stainless/acrylic/molded enclosures.

Please keep us abreast on your developments. I am really interested in how you are planning on rolling these out on an enterprise level. I think we need to reach out to Samsung and see what they have in mind for biz-wide rollouts.

Update:
Today I handed over our sole Note Pro 12.2 and a check for $10k to Armor Active. Our total build is going to be 100 enclosures plus development costs and tooling. We increased our development costs by $1.5k by adding a gasket spec to the casing around where the screen meets the screen opening. The environment it's in has quite a bit of moisture and potential for damp hands. I'm hoping this helps out the long term durability of the 12.2's.
Unfortunately we probably won't see a delivery till late April to mid May. I've bought some Tab 10.1 enclosures from Galaxy Enclosures to sub in for about 12 units in the mean time. Those lack a gasket and I already anticipate they'll lead to a few moisture failures.
I'll take pictures as soon as I have a prototype. As for Samsung supporting the enterprise space... Well I hope they have a division wanting to give me a price break on a hundred Tab Pro 12.2's when they are released!

What is the work and why is a NOTEPRO the solution?

I'm madly curious too...
Sent from my SM-P900 using Tapatalk

I received the prototypes today. I'm pretty happy with them. They're definately very heavy duty. This is a Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2 mounted in one. It will also fit a Note Pro 12.2.
The only thing missing is the gasket for the front faceplate.
Thoughts?

The tablet's camera and light sensor are where the notch is. I don't really have a current use for the camera but the light sensor is valuable to keep uncovered.

I ask this all the time, but not for what you are asking for I think. I hate very thin phones. I put a case on it just to beef it up. I like the feel of a nice meaty phone in my hand. I just ordered my N3, and I need a case as soon as I unbox it. Like now I have an SII, and need a Case-Mate Tough Case on it to get the right thickness. The N3 is even thinner, so I'm looking forward to some nice thick cases.

Because Samsung wants these phones to actually fit in your pockets? If you want to turn your Note 3 into a Nintendo 3DS XL in size that's your choice but it's not a popular one.

That's what he meant mate. He was inferring that there's a reason why Samsung produce phones which are thin enough to be easily portable.
Looks okay but a better protection for the note 3 would be better .

I am the exact opposite... never use a case bc it bulks phones up too much... with my old GS2 never once had a case on it... Note 2...never put a case on it... tried to carry my GFs Note 2 around with a case just to see... and after 15 minutes I was like WTF...too much added weight and bulk... esp for pants pockets... now for girls its prob less of a big deal since they will put theirs in bags/purses all the time.. but for me as a guy I prefer as thin as possible so its light and fits easily in the pocket with the least amount of bulk... I do wish the galaxy line added a thin kickstand that popped out and didnt affect overall design and thickness...but you cant have it all I guess...
to each their own I guess...
I just saw this, and my thoughts.....
I can go all day and then some, never worrying about charging, Full display, data if needed, and snapping pics. My battery, if i milk it (low screen brightness, but 5 hours of wifi etc, still last 16 hours. Screen brightness and data is what eats my battery. Was playing today with complete disregard for battery, and took out a 1/3 battery in matter of 3 hours today.
And my S pen, would be nice and secured underneath the case. Hmmm, sounds perfect for traveling! especially when in another country where charging, electrical plugs etc can be an issue. Sure won't be a dumb arse, and lose my S Pen say on a subway train or it fall out. If i use the pen, i will have to be thinking about it, then secure it away. Maybe i won't order a second replacement S Pen with that case.
The video makes it look like a snap to open the case, and it is more form fitting and sleeker than a huge bulge on the back. Might fit flatter in pocket, or back pack being more slab like.
Like i am gonna be looking for a USB 3 port while on a boat, or tour bus, or something like that.
Looking decent after i think about it....
I have one for my htc one , the mah is half what was stated if that , very lil protection almost flush with the front of the phone and runs extreme hot

I need your opinion with different carrying solutions. Hows the china stuff on eBay?

I need to find a way to carry my phone around, especially at work. I work in a bus garage, my work is manual so I don't want the phone to be in any pocket as moving around can get annoying and I might hit my leg somewhere and damage the phone. But also in regular clothes, sometimes this phone is just to much for my jeans.
For me, finding the perfect way to carry this huge phone is the most challenging thing with it, but the size of this phone is my only negative point so I'll find a way around that.
From eBay:
1. Case cover with Holster with belt clip and kickstand:http://www.ebay.com/itm/SAMSUNG-GALAXY-NOTE-3-Case-Cover-Protector-Rigid-Slim-Holster-Kick-Stand-/171138781224?pt=US_Cell_Phone_PDA_Cases&hash=item27d8aa9028
2. Heavy Duty vertical belt clip pouch : http://www.ebay.com/itm/HEAVY-DUTY-VERTICAL-BELT-CLIP-POUCH-HOLSTER-CASE-FOR-SAMSUNG-GALAXY-NOTE-2-N7100-/360649119899
3. Another Holster Belt clip : http://www.ebay.com/itm/Samsung-Galaxy-Note-3-Rugged-Hybrid-case-cover-with-Belt-Clip-Holster-Bundle-/181230218883?pt=US_Cell_Phone_PDA_Cases&var=&hash=item2a3229ae83
So what are your opinons on these 3? Hows the china stuff with your experience? Should I be worried the belt clip break in half after 2days?
I've tried about 4 different china cases over the years....and 3/4 were garbage...the only decent one I had on my G2. The fit is usually too small/incorrect and i've cosmetically damaged phones in the past using them. Like the old saying goes "Ya get what you pay for." I'm by no means rich and like to save a buck when I can, but do you want to put your $600 baby in a $5-10 carriage?
1st one: I don't like that I don't see and rubber material in the case for shock absorption, just that little fuzzy "velvet" stuff. Bet it will scuff sides of phone too, had one similar before.... PASS
2nd one looks like the case for my leatherman. PASS
3rd one looks like a trident knockoff, but has the rubber/hard plastic combo that seems to work best. One thing I can't see is how big of a "lip' sticks out above screen. This is important for face-down falls. Without a good rubber lip like the Trident/otterbox cases, you WILL have damage.
Good luck and let us know how it turns out....
I've had mixed results with China cases over the years. I was suprised by the one I got for my Note 2. It was cheap, durable, and did exactly what I wanted. With my original Note I went through 2 or 3 cases before I got a good one.

The majority of cases probably originate in China. I ordered #3 from your list and it should be here soon, so I can take pictures and let you know about the quality. From another auction, it shows that the lip that surrounds the screen is rather large, almost as much as an Otterbox Defender. I saw the same case on Amazon for $20, and there are a few sellers that have them less than $10 on eBay. I've also ordered a Spigen NeoHybrid because it offers the protection I need, but hopefully the corners won't pop off and crack the case near the charging port like my S4 case did.

Inexpensive cases
Hi all, I just ordered my 12.2 Note Pro but won't get it until the end of February (Canada).
But I did order a three inexpense cases from Amazon.com. I notice that there are always insanely inexpensive cases on Amazon when new tablets are released.
Each of these cases was $1.99 plus $5.00 shipping. I couldn't make up my mind which one I wanted so I made the most of the shipping charge (to Canada) and ordered one of each. Hey at 2 bucks why not. I am not worried so much about the quality because I figured that though there are a number of different companies selling tablet cases, most are made at only a couple of factories. So one companies slim case will be the same as the next.
The cases, screen protector and tablet should all arrive around the same time.

I grabbed one when I bought mine, but returned it due to how the tablets sits in the stand portion. Felt like it would damage screen where it rested. Went with the 1 samsung case they had instead. Liking it but it's an expensive case. Haven't found a bluetooth keyboard I like as much, so waiting for logitech like others. Apple magic mouse works well with the tablet.....

Samsung Book Cover case

Are they a rip off?
$100 dollars is something I am willing to pay for protection that works and quality.
This book cover case looks cheap and say if you fold it open will it not block the camera?
A $20 case, oh great but does it fall apart or scratch you device?
The device cost me $750, I do not want to be cheap with the cover.
Decided to buy one anyway, blocking the camera seems stupid but the tablet is not going to take many pictures
I wouldn't waste my money on a genuine Samsung cover when I could pick up something identical made from identical materials by the exact same workers in the exact same factory....but just skipped the guy that attaches the "Samsung" logo.
I am 100% willing, however, to throw money at Oberon Design if they decide to make a case for the Pro...Mmm..
Oh, oh, or if Tuff-luv ever comes out with a Eco-nique natural hemp cover for it. That'd be freaking sweet. I love the one I've got on my Kindle.
BuyDig.com sells the original Samsung case for 59.99. At first I hesitated buying it, but after reading all the poor reviews and comments on the third party products, I decided to get it.
I must say, I am very glad I did. The feel is definitelly premium, and replicating the soft leather plastic feel of the tablet's back. It is also quite thin, not adding any significant bulk overall. Highly recommended, if you can spring for it.

Picked mine up at Verizon, and it costs $69, but I get a 25% discount through my job, so I spent $52 (inclusive of MI Sales Tax). I like it. It's thin, light, and works well, and because it doesn't add too much bulk, I can slip it easily into my Work Bag. I had the SPECK Case but returned it...too much bulk and I didn't care for the Clasp.
I have onesince day 1. Pricey but if you hold it, you think at the back doesnt have case.its thin and does its job. A very well made case. For this price im expecting a real leather.
I really like the official cover. If I could get one similar to it but made of real leather that would be amazing though. But I have zero complaints about it.

It has a Verizon logo on it but it's not a big deal to me.
I plan on using it with a Snugg PU Leather Sleeve Case for 13 " MacBook Air and Pro, Surface Pro 3, Black also on ebay and its only $13.99.
UPDATE
Got both items from Ebay and the Snugg case for MacBook Air works perfectly, a little room on sides but if it was smaller it would be to hard to get the tablet out of the sleeve as the rubberized coating on the case has a little grip to it.
This turned out that I got both items for under $30.00 and makes the Note 12.2 look very classy and rich looking.
I bought a Samsung case for my device it is really nice, I did have 1 problem that the magnet sensor was playing up, the screen wasn't turning on or it would just freeze. I think the case wasn't on properly, I'm sure it hasn't done it for awhile but normally if it doesn't turn on I just wait and use the button, that seems to work. for the trouble it's not worth the money, a little cheaper and I would definitely recommend it

Poetic Case for about $15...
I've had my 12.2 for about a year now. I originally bought the Samsung case - sooo unimpressed with it! I find it very flimsy, and it doesn't fold the right way to set in my lap (like an easel). I lived with it for about 2 months, then found a case similar to it on Ama zon from a company called Poetic. It has the lid magnets like the "official" case so the tablet sleeps when I close the lid. It also has the right creases in the cover to create the easel stand - perfect for lap use and watching movies. It has held up well over the months, and I'm not real gentle. Pleather outside, soft felt-like inside that lays against the screen. Tablet snaps in snugly, all the right slots and holes for the tablet. Very happy with it.
Search for "Poetic tablet case for samsung note pro 12.2", it was the first one on the list. LOL! Price went up a couple of bucks, still worth it.
offical flip case
The official samsung note pro flip case designer range moschino and kirkwood are selling at atomgsm.co.uk for only £11.79 including free UK delivery. Couldn't believe it bought A couple.
I think that if you're going to get this, you might as well get an rooCASE Origami cover. They are much more versatile in the way they fold and they are cheaper.

How do you like the fit of the GNote Pro in the Snugg case? I like to use mine with no case, but would like a nice sleeve for carrying it. How is the fit if there is no other case on the GNote Pro?

Fits very nice with a little room on the inside so you can actually put your favorite pen on the side or a USB 3.0 OTG dongle.

ProCase SlimSnug Case

Thought I'd start up a dedicated thread for this case.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MJXK8VM/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
At an average of under $10 on Amazon, this case is a quarter of the cost of the official case. It adds the protection of a hard cradle that the tablet sits in, which the official case doesn't offer.
Based on the popularity of the case on Amazon, I'd suggest NVidia may lose some sales of the official case to ProCase.
One thing to consider is that this case might interfere with passive cooling as suggested in https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/767648/shield-tablet/3rd-party-case-/
For that price, I'll drill vent holes in it if necessary. ?
In going to take the risk and have ordered one.
Looks nice, I have a similar case for my Nexus 7 but I don't want the back all covered up. I'm still holding out for a cover that snaps into the bottom of the tablet (like the official cover).
I kinda wish there was a really snug bumper for it with a lip that would cover the harsh bezel edges with rubbery comfort.

Yeah, they really are rather sharp. Not quite sure why they decided to go that way with the design.
I ordered one of these and it just shipped today. I probably won't get it until late next week (US holiday on Monday) but I can take pics and give some basic impressions when I get it if any is interested.

Right, it's winging its way over to me with the shield controller. Should have them in about 3 or 5 days.
Mine arrived yesterday; I got the green one. I very much like the protection provided by the snap-on case and the magnetic cover "latches" nicely in the closed position. Opening the cover does wake the tablet which is also nice.
The cover folds back but does not seem to magnetically "latch" to itself or the rear of the case in either the "keyboard" mode, the "movie" mode, or folded flat against the back of the case. The "keyboard" mode works easily enough as the weight of the tablet holds it in position but the "movie" mode doesn't work well for me but perhaps the cover joints will loosen up a bit and work better over time.
I find the protection aspect (and price) of this cover to be far superior to the nVidia case but the nVidia case works far, far, better as a stand than this one does, at least mine.
<edit> Please see additional comments and retraction in the next post. </edit>
I retract my previous statement regarding the cover not magnetically latching to itself in the "movie" stand mode. There is a magnetic clasp there but you have to fold the cover into the proper geometrical arrangement which I clearly had not been doing. When done properly, the cover does indeed snap to itself quite nicely and the tablet stands up properly for viewing a movie.
This is an excellent case and priced, in my opinion, lower than it is worth. :good:
Well I ordered the red one off of amazon, should be getting it tomorrow along with my 64GB Samsung SD card. Hopefully will have my shield next week, have to wait for Best Buy to ship it.
Update: I received my case, and I have to say I was actually impressed with the quality of the case. Much better than I was expecting. My Shield shipped already so I should have it soon.
Just got mine. Nice case.

@aznmode, yeah just got mine. Same colour as yours. It's performing great for me. I just wish the magnetic clasp was able to grab onto something more secure when it is in "stand mode". I find the magnet sometimes pops loose for me. It's trivial to reaffix it again, so for the price I'm certainly willing to turn a blind eye to this behavior.
With the Procase, do any of you guys notice the shield getting hotter than usual?

I played HL2 last night and it got as hot as it did when I didnt have a case. There aren't really any vents on the tablet that it covers, so I don't see how it could affect it. If anything it should act as a heat sync and help with the heat.

Ok Thanks for the quick reply. I'm debating if I should order this case as well as the controller or order the official cover

I played Sky Force 2014 (not Tegra enhanced, but pretty graphically rich for a shmup) and immediately after ending my 2 hour session of almost non-stop gaming, I opened System Monitor (app) and my temp was 40 deg Celsius. My Nexus 7 was climbing up to about 60 deg Celsius on the same game.
How is it when you have the covert folded back but flat against the back of the shield? does it lay completely flat? Can someone post a picture if they have it please.

It lays practically flat, with just the smallest amount of rake down from the cover fabric hinge to the metal clasp.
Hope it helps.
Thanks @jaredmorgs!!! I was waiting for someone to show a pic before I order it.
