Did you want them to ship it with Jelly Bean? Is your point that they are shipping brand new devices with a current version of Android or are you complaining that the G2 has not been updated to 4.4 yet? What exactly are you trying to say?

Could you please share the link to a non-Korean STOCK KitKat Rom? Then I will understand your post.

Well this is good news concerning the LG G2 5.2" 's stock kitkat upgrade.

G Pro 2 also has KitKat. Did you think it'd ship on jelly bean?

Just hopped on IRC, and SnowLeopardJB says he is also working to port it. Hopefully anything useful can be merged into ROM sources like CM.
Got it booting so far. No radio yet. Can't work on it any more today, but its a start.

You're not alone mate :highfive:
Sounds awesome! I was between this and a n4 and got this for AT&T LTE and micro SD. Then got the pleasant surprise that it's basically the same phone

I am also awaiting to see results of 4.3 additions to current rom projects.
But I personally think the LGOG design is much nicer than the N4, the N4 rounded top and bottom make it look like HTC wannabe and seems to add bulk to the phones.
If I had known about the Oppo Find 5 earlier, I would have gotten that instead since the lack of microSD, LTE and the terrible design on the N4 turned me off completely. So ended up with the LGOG for $49, at least the price was attractive since I already pay for the data plan.
FYI, the iPhone 4S is still $100 more at AT&T. And I see AT&T still has iPhone 4, guess Apple in their contract made AT&T buy far more phones than they were able to sell.
- I noticed some AT&T employees even had Windows 8 logo on their shirts, to promote the Nokia WP8 phones, with the shirt on, tried desperately to convince me to upgrade to the iPhone 4 .99 upgrade, not the 4S, not the 5. I found that very amusing.
Can't wait for 4.3 on our OG

You can flash it like any other rom, but you won't have external SD or hardware keys.

It is 4.3 running on a stock JB LGOG. As nygfan760 said, any mako kernel will boot on the LGOG, as long as it is updated with the jellybean partitions, which is why the kernel version is identical. I am using it because an android 4.2.2 kernel will not boot android 4.3, caused by changes in the code base between the versions, such as SEAndroid support.
Kernel modifications will be needed for a fully working device. External sd card and physical touch buttons are the main things that would require a new kernel build, and will not be possible until source is released.

I dont know if LG is going to release 4.3. I think LG is just going to wait until 4.4 before providing an update. I just dont trust LG yet to provide multiple software updates because they havent built that reputation.

lol well if someone can see into the future to answer this... forget 4.4 and go right for 5.0 Android Lemon-aid... or lolly-pop?
My amazement is the fact that you are asking to speculate on a release date for our phone, when the Version hasn't even launched yet. That's like asking the exact release date of a phone that hasn't been announced yet

I'd think that would be the smart choice for them, especially considering that the g2 is the basis for the nexus 5. I'd imagine they're developing both in parallel.

[Q] Port 4.4 AOSP Nexus 4 ROM to OG?

Any chance of us getting this ported over? Seeing as how OG and Nexus 4 goodies have been shared back and forth etc.:victory:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2506678
If you have a converted LGOG it's just as simple as flashing it directly, but I'm sure as time passes we'll get a proper ROM based on 4.4 soon enough.

There's nothing in the original development subforum *here* for the LGOG, are you meaning some other location, like the Nexus 4 subforum perhaps?

Are you referring to stock ROMs or Aosp based ROMs?
Sent from my LG Optimus G using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
If you're referring to the stock roms for the Pro and G2 then yes they are different.
The G Pro runs JB 4.1.2 latest update is 10K
The G2 is on Android 4.2.2 with new apps that run on the G2 like knock-on/off. I don't know the stock number but they have a rom for the G Pro that runs like the G2 almost.
I only in this thread as I may get to use the Optimus G for a few months. I used to own the G Pro.

It is great news and it tickles me about all that hate on their forum. Unfortunately I have the D801 model. And according to their requirements testers can't upload the ROM on forums or share them. I don't know what will it take to make it boot on my model but I'm thinking about signing up just to see how it is.
Signed up, curious about color os.
Nice to see other ports brought to G2.
