MIUIv5 4.3.7 Download
3-10-2014: MIUI v5 4.3.7
MiPatcher Galaxy S4 Workspace
3-07-2014: Root folder with MIUI CM
Working:
- Let's find out
*NFC has been disabled in this release although by adding your NFC APK it can prob. be re-enabled.
I don't know enough about your NFC situation to make a call yet with this so I'm going the safe route to ensure stability
MIUI General FAQ
Q: How do I root this?
A: Enable root in the perm manager, which can be found in the security folder.
Q: Why is G-Apps not listed for Download?
A: Too Bloaty, add a Google account and install the play store as an APK, I suggest using Aptoide to find it.
Q: 4G LTE isn't working
A: Load the Phone, dial *#*#4636#*#*, goto Phone information, Set preferred network type to LTE/CDMA auto (PRL).
Q: Help! Phone/SystemUI/Keyboard Isn't working/Is Force Closing!
A: Make sure to do a completely clean wipe, also I'm not sure how well this will work if flashed in CWM.
Q: The Browser looks terrible.
A: Settings -> Advanced -> User agent string -> MiOne (It Renders much better & more naturally!)
Q: My Filesystems won't mount/My PC can't see my device/My phone won't act as a MTP/USB Mounting isn't working!
A: Settings -> Developer Options -> Enable Development / USB Debugging (switch both to on)

I'm assuming that you can't use this with safe strap.

Correct

CDMA subscription is set to NV by default and should be RUIM/SIM. Display in wireless settings only show UIM &NV. Basically UIM should be selected.

Where do I change the CDMA subscription...I cannot get any form of signal at all now..and I done the 4636 trick already. I have wireless working but would love to be able to make phone calls lol.
Plus for the Dev...the lockscreen only shows the wallpaper...fumbling around on the screen eventually will lead to the slider but it's invisible

Changing it to CDMA/LTE/EVDO don't fry the mobile settings? I read on the s3 forum that they were having problems with it. When I first installed this, I didn't change the subscription and then the option disappeared...quickly going back to tw and then cm11 reactivated my subscription and on second try now lol.
Thanks for the help btw.

Changing network settings have never fried anything for me. Alot of times APN settings can change by default. Only way I've seen anyone fry a sim is dialing *228 which forces the network to stay in 3g untill a new with SIM is installed.

There were similar issues when i was running it on the RAZR. . The dev who ported it over there made a patch to change the global setting and default network.
Here is a Link to the Razr forum with the settings that was updated.. THIS IS JUST FOR INFORMATION.. THIS LINK IS FROM THE DROID RAZR FORUM.

Verizon Galaxy Note 2 Locked Sim Card - And for what it is worth

It is not new that Verizon Galaxy Note 2 sim card is locked.
And today I gave it a try anyway... It is sort of locked, but not completely...
Basically I plugged into a T-Mobile prepay card I can MAKE PHONE CALL instantly without any issue. But See no data connection, obviously.
The warning message "non-verizon sim card detected" is there but it is not blocking anything .
SO it is kind of locked in data , but not voice. If it means to someone still. It certainly means a lot to me. Because previously when I have ATT HTC-ONE X, it is locked completely meaning you can't bypass the unlock simcard screen to use the phone.
SO now At least I know I can use it in other countries for voice, if I have a local sim card, which is good for me most of the time.
Of course if you can't live with data in other country's 3G/4G this means nothing to you. Please ignore. Otherwise, for some travelers, this may help to clarify.

I think I read somewhere you have to change APN settings to get your data up. You'll probably only pull edge though.

For some place (like NYC), if you can unlock it, TMobile is also having 4G. it all depends on where TMobile activated its AWS 1700 band.
Good to know we can at least make voice calls. Leaving the SIM unlocked is one of the few nice things Verizon has done recently.
You need to update the APN settings to get data coverage for non-Verizon SIM cards. Calls and SMS doesn't require this.
So that means if I change the apn my tmobile sim can work immediately? Or Verizon blocked the ability to edit apn?

Unfortunately no. Was hoping it would be different with a non-Verizon SIM. Maybe it'll let you do it when you change the network mode.

It is already unlocked. If it were locked, you couldn't put the SIM in and make calls. The only thing we need to find to have it fully working is how to add/edit the APN info so that you could get data service.

I dont have a note to try this with but I have been sucessful with my GS3 on Jelly bean. Purchase Titanium backup pro, and Download HiApn or APN manager pro. You'll first have to set your APN managing app as a system app before it will be able to edit the APN in Jelly bean. Of course this will require root. My carrier of choice for my GS3 happens to be on H2O, who has their own configurator app, and it claims to not work on Android 4.0+ but I was able to set it as a system app as well and was able to get functioning data. Check out the GS3 forums for further assistance. Hope this helps. Also, seems like I remember reading somewhere in the GS3 forums as well that they had the Non Verizon SIM notification as well. It wasn't locked.

The phone is already fully SIM unlocked. There's just not a way to change the APN in the stock settings in order to get data working. This can be done with root access.
The non-Verizon SIM message is likely there to notify you that you aren't pay excess fees for international coverage like you would if you were using VZW's international plan.

Also, to those trying these without a custom recovery:
1. Make sure you backup (or know where to find) a copy of your original systemui.apk, or any other files you replace. No nandroids here.
2. If you are not on at&t, do not try these without a custom recovery (twrp or cwm). Minor differences in these system files can easily cause a boot loop, which in the absence of a recovery can be a soft brick!

Blocking mode on Verizon s4

So i was messing around with an NFC tag and I programmed it to active the blocking mode, pretty much just to see what would happen. And to my surprise, it did indeed activate. Perhaps Verizon didn't delete it and maybe just made it inaccessible?

So i was messing around with an NFC tag and I programmed it to active the blocking mode, pretty much just to see what would happen. And to my surprise, it did indeed activate. Perhaps Verizon didn't delete it and maybe just made it inaccessible?

well, i programmed an NFC tag to activate it. The app is called "NFC Tag Launcher" (Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jwsoft.nfcactionlauncher&hl=en) and in there i created a task that would activate it. It was surprising that it worked, and kind of exciting.
EDIT: Would you like to see some screen shots? .. i think im being pretty vague with this exciting discovery
Is that the blocking mode for when you want to sleep and stuff so that the notifications dont go off?

Nice find, I need to test this when I get home. I would like some screenshots or at least how you set the profile up if its not too much trouble.
Several of the custom ROMs already have this built in, plus a whole lot more

Yes, but the ability to have a custom rom is a luxury some of us do not have thanks to the update that was pushed out

Or for other reasons like security issues for work.

From what I've heard you can now use safestrap to install custom ROMs if you're on ME7. There are a lot of people using Hyperdrive that have taken the update. But it's cool that NFC will bring up blocking mode, if you don't want to go that route :good:

If I wish to access my company's assets from my personal phone, I must abide by my employers rules about that access. That includes not having root or using custom ROM's on Android devices.
This is enforced both by employment policy and systemic policy. This is very common with fortune 100 companies and government work.
Oh cool. I'll have to look at that.
Not everyone wants to install custom roms. Its nice to have a way to use something that should be easy access on the phone the qay samsung intended but for some reason verizon thinks we shouldn't. If it werent for the great service . . . .

Thank you! Good Find
Great info! Good job man, I can't wait to try it!
What setting in the app did you use to launch the program, I can't find blocking mode.

KitKat flashlight toggle

Credit goes to antiochasylm for this, original thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2677373 . So head there for detailed info and to give thanks.
I've confirmed it works on Sacs Rom V2 and on Fre3 2.0 beta 4. I'm 99% sure it would work on k3 as well. If you use a theme the toggle will not get themed.
It is a two part flash. Just download the files, flash part 1 then 2 and profit!
Download Part 1

Download Part 2

NOTE: This is a modded systemui.apk so it WILL break any theme or other systemui dependant files. So if you use sac rom you WILL lose 3minit and lidroid.

Howdy doo everyone! Does anyone knows if it's confirmed working on Sac's v3 by any chance? The rom has the S5 UI, settings, and icons.

Ya I flash this when I lose the toggle. If you move the toggles sometimes the flashlight goes away. Hit reset and it'll usually bring it back but then the mobile data toggle is way down and I like it to be first. Also, sometimes flashing a theme will make it dissapear. After flashing this it'll stick. Works on every ROM available to us. Even vision X.

Flashed and worked great, but it broke 3minit quick settings, icons all disappeared.

I flashed this on Vision X and it broke the toggle theme but did add the toggle but the toggle doesn't work.

Keep tapping the icon. It works. Then reflash the vision x theme.

It worked on the sprint version. Haven't tried it on nc5. Make a backup and try it. You can always revert back to your backup if it doesn't work.

I flashed it, works but it did make a couple of changes that are not for sprint. Like the updates, profile, prl , etc is not there anymore and no where to be found. 4g icon is completely different. Not sure if a moderator knows hows to make it completely compatible for the sprint variant.

If I can recall correctly this is because it uses a different systemui. You can look around and try to find different method. There are others but this was the only easy flashable way I found. It's been a few months so no telling what is out now. Most of the sprint roms include the flashlight toggle anyway.
