Hello XDA,
Our little player didn't got any attention from Samsung, they said it has "too low specs".
They may be right, but that doesn't mean we'll have to throw it away, so
I'm proud to present you: Android 4.4.3 for your Samsung Galaxy Player 3.6!
Official discussion thread (Q&A, News, Tricks,...) -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2769281
Features
- OpenGL Hardware acceleration
- Open GLES 1.1 & 2.0
- Audio effects
- Vibration support
- Access to internal and external storage
- FM Radio support
- All senors working:
- Geomagnetic sensor
- Accelerometer
- Compass
- More battery-saving than stock
- Button Backlight Notifications
All features from AOSP 4.4 (Read here: http://www.android.com/versions/kit-kat-4-4/) and CyanogenMod 11 (Read here: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/About)
Note
We're running CM11 on the stock kernel (from opensource.samsung.com), which is able to run CM11 and contains a lot of fixes and improvements.
It won't run as stable as a 3.x kernel, but it's doing what it should be.
Some things (mostly improvements) aren't working correctly (ION, HWC,...) because of missing kernel drivers..
The ROM is actually in a very, very early development state, that means:
- Random crashes
- Some apps may not work correctly (or won't start)
- It's not very smooth
CyanogenMod 11 is still under development and not made for daily use yet.
Not Working
Camera
Internal memory
External memory
zRAM
USB access
WiFi (near to fix)
Bluetooth
Dual boot to recovery

I'm only able to improve this ROM if I get bugreports.
A bugreport must include:
- a logcat (http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Doc:_debugging_with_logcat)

SDMergE400 Mod (gellmaR & cRaZyByte) - Get 1.1GB Space for your apps and data!
Link2SD no longer required!
Taken from http://www.modaco.com/topic/361722-...zybyte-get-11gb-space-for-your-apps-and-data/
gellmar said:
The purpose of SDMergE400 mod is to get more space for user data by means of removing the unnecessary 1GB internal SDCARD. Technicaly it is done in 4 steps:
Step 1 - Update recovery to use custtom one that support expert partitioning
Step 2 - Re-partition the internal storage and create filesystems
Step 3 - Install fresh Cyanogenmod 9 nightly
Step 4 - Install SDMergE400 modifier for CM9 nightly.
Main features:
1. Extended data partition 1.15 GB
2. Battery / power up fix
3. USB Mass Storage fix
4. ICS device encryption fix
5. 1GHz / tun / swap kernel
How to install (for the first time - no previous SDMergE400 mod installed):
1. Download archive with all parts from http://sendfile.su/787227 [SEE BOTTOM OF POST FOR MIRRORS] and unpack its contents to External SD card. Download the latest CM nightly to your external SD card too. Make sure the phone is fully charged!
2. Ensure you have CWM 5.8.4.5 recovery installed.
3. Plug off the charger and reboot into recovery
4. Apply SDMergE400_Step1.zip from sdcard. The phone will reboot on success prompting you a new recovery.
5. Apply SDMergE400_Step2.zip from sdcard. The phone will reboot on success prompting you an old recovery for step3 and step4 completion.
6. Apply CM9 install and after it completes, apply SDMergE400_Step4.zip from the sdcard.
7. Reboot and cross your fingers - after 2-3 minutes max you will see the SIM card PIN lock screen.
How to apply newer CM nightlies:
1. Copy CM9 nightly to external card
2. Apply from CWM recovery
3. Apply SDMergE400-Step4.zip from external card
4. Reboot normal
All you user data should remain intact.
How to revert the mod:
1. Reflash KDZ to stock 2.3.6 kernel.

thank you...
thanks Gellmar n Crazzybyte... :good:
Thanks your very very much Crazzybyte and Gellmar. Now I have plenty of storage and and dont have to worriey about using l2d
My L3 when i connect him to PC doesnt do nothing.. i dont have USB icon or smth.
When I follow the steps to flash the newest nightly. All my apps, data, gapps are still there. But for some reason the overclocked kernal is not. I guess i have to re flash it. Also has anyone notice that in the about cm update, it does not always display the current version of the cm version your using. Im using 20130407... the phone displays 20130313. Overall all im happy with the mod and has saved me time (no need to re download apps/can change settings when flashing to latest cm) and a lot frustration from not having enough space to install apps.

Yes, that's from the overclocked kernel. I contacted the author, maybe he'll remove/fix this.
Edit: No, it's step4 I think, not the kernel.

CyanogenMod 7.2 for the Samsung Galaxy Player 3.6
Hello Galaxy Player community,
I finally compiled CM7 (Version 7.2) for our Galaxy Players 3.6.
Actually my build is not flashable, it's just an zip-file with the system, initramfs, bootstrap and more.
You can use this for developing or ROM porting.
This thread will be the development thread for CM7 on our devices.

1. FAQs
Q: Is this build flashable?
A: No, it isn't.
Q: Can I try to push the SYSTEM folder from the zip to my device?
A: Yes, but I can't guarantee that it will work, in worst case, just reflash the stock rom with ODIN.
Q: Is this for the EU or US version of the YP-GS1?
A: I think it will work on both, but I took the specs from an EU device.
Q: How long does it took to build it?
A: It took 2 months.

Wow... There are really nice people who do all this hard work for free just for giving people some things that for them are impossible in other way...
I think that the less we can do is to say thank you and congratulations MrBubble (and all the people working on it)!

Yes, it is a complete CM7 build.
Solution for libcamera.so:
1. Download this: https://github.com/galaxyishere/android_vendor_samsung_galaxysl
2. Replace "galaxysl" in the files in the root directory with "hugo" (galaxysl-vendor.mk, galaxysl-vendor-blobs.mk and BoardConfigVendor.mk)
3. Replace the files in the dir called proprietary with the files from a system dump from your player 4.2 (You will find the files in: /system/vendor, /system/lib, /system/bin and /system/firmware)
4. Make directory: <cm7source>/vendor/samsung/hugo
5. Copy the files there
6. Try building, GOOD LUCK!

Downloading now will see what i can do
Okay i made a flashable zip file but it is not booting i think because it is missing the Boot.img file because it has no kernel now!!!
You need to compile a good kernel first before we can actualy try it out Thanks!!!
If you have a good kernel that is compitable with CM7 and our device i can modify the updater-script to let it install the kernel to then we can see if it will boot up!
PS:
This is maybe a better logo for your thread:

I've researched the problem with trying to make otapackage and apparently you need to include recovery before starting the build. I'm not sure how to include it but I'm pretty sure it's in BoardConfig.mk, something along the lines of 'TARGET_NO_RECOVERY := false' but then again I'm not quite sure, and btw did you include a prebuilt kernel?
Yeah we need a flashable zip for this to work otherwise it is useless thanks anyways if you need help PM me!

- Sound;

Not working:
- Bluetooth.
Instructions: !!!Be aware that im not responsible for any damage that can cause this rom!!!
1. Be sure that you have installed 4.0.3 stock official rom from huawei and your bootloader is not locked.
2. Now you need to install TWRP/CWM recovery.
To do it download zip with Automated installer of TWRP/CWM/STOCK Recoveries to PC, unpack it in the place you like on PC, run install_recovery.cmd and follow onscreen instructions.
2. Then download CyanogenMod 10 for Huawei Mediapad, Google apps and place them on your internal or external sd.
3. Boot in TWRP/CWM Recovery, then choose Backup and confirm operation (you will get full backup of stock rom).
4. If you want flash rom on top of previous cm10/pa rom - skip this part and go to 5.
Otherwise If you goes from stock or AOKP rom then Press back to go to main menu and choose Wipe there and choose Factory reset there and confirm operation .
5. Press back again and choose Install, then find downloaded zip rom, choose it and and confirm operation .
6. Press back again and choose Install, then find downloaded zip with Gapps, choose it and confirm operation .
7. Then reboot in system and enjoy CyanogenMod 10.1 rom on your Mediapad
PLS notice: twrp/cwm recoveries are intended to use with custom roms like cm10/pa/aokp. In stock huawei rom internal memory is mounted to data/shared. But custom recoveries have an option to bypass only internal memory that mounted to data/media. So for stock rom these recoveries will do backup of internal memory during backup and will do wipe during factory reset. But they wont do it for custom roms like cm10/pa etc.

Check the screen of the mediapad while connecting. ADB ask for permission to connect to your pc since a while. If you do not grant that permission, the device is listed as offline. You will also have to allow root access via ADB in the developer options if you need it, as it is disabled by default now.
Wow, youre great. Mediapad live forever :good:
Camera is fixed New cm Focal camera works reaaaaaaly bad, almost not usable, but stock camera seems to work fine. I think even it will be better to not include Focal in release to free some space for gapps.
Now is the hardest part left - to backport bluez for bt.

Dualboot
General info
System files (/system) are installed on the HIDDEN partition () so they DON'T conflict with CyanogenMod 10.2 ROM.
I use CyanogenMod Kernel with no modifications, all dualboot stuff is based on initramfs (indeed is based on Siyahkernel approach).
How to dual-boot
It's a rudimentary mechanism so far. You have to: adb shell, and type (no matter where ROM you are):
If you want to boot into CM10.2 - Note: If you don't have installed CM10.2, please don't do this!!:
Code:
# cr.sh 1
If you want to boot into FirefoxOS - Note: it can be any number different from 1, i.e: cr.sh 3, cr.sh 5:
Code:
# cr.sh 2
Your device will reboot in this very moment, and will boot into the selected ROM.
The first time, FirefoxOS ROM will be booted by default.
Downloads
I'm providing a CWM installable .zip so you can test it without having to build the whole system.

Installing
Boot into recovery mode with CWM.
Make a backup (as always).
Save your backup in other place than your device (no matter what partition you are using), please.
adb push ffos-sgs2-jb-version-2014.zip /emmc
Install zip from sdcard
Insall zip from internal sdcard
Select the .zip file
Install it!!!

In case you want to go further and compile everything from scratch, I would suggest you to see my G+ post with detailed instructions on how to build it by yourself.
Of course, all my work is available under my Github account.
Features at a glance:
Dual boot with CM10.2 (if you have installed it)
Rooted
Adb Insecure
FirefoxOS v1.4
What's not working:
Flickering graphics
Camera
Mobile data
Wifi on i777
Hardware Home button on i777
Do not expect a very stable version!
Thanks to
Cyanogenmod, cause it's amazing work on this device despite Samsung, I'm using your kernel.
Siyahkernel, cause my dualboot solution is inspired by yours.
All the people helped me testing very first releases, risking their devices .
Enjoy!

All the instructions are in the first post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=49484692&postcount=1
If you want dualboot (it's not mandatory) you cannot install CM10.2 after installing ffos.zip, cause the boot.img (zImage on SGS2) I modifed would be overwritten with the one from CyanogenMod, wich is not dualbootable.
So:
1º - Install CM10.2
2º - Install FFOS

[ROM][LP] [5.1.1-r4][Unofficial] PACMAN rom [2015-07-04]

Hello everybody,
I've just compiled PACMAN-ROM for my new Z3C. Current version is PAC-LP MR1 Beta2.
Device trees are CyanogenMod's so probably all device specific CM-bugs will be there too.
The boot.img inside the zip contains CM 12.1 kernel and "Cyanogen Recovery" (no backup right now!).
For alternative recoveries/kernels scroll down to "TESTED - WORKING"...
If the rom is stable for daily use (as I hope) I'm gonna build newer version periodically (depending on PAC & CM updates).

Flash it before or after installing the PACROM zip. It contains the zip's

so for backups it might be necessary
to flash it always before installing a new zip, e.g.

It's the same as any Lollipop based PAC ROM, so just search the web for pics.

I think PAC is AOSP & CM based. Custom kernel. Unlocked bootloader, yes.

Happy to build actually it's not that difficult with CM device support. Probably I'll build some monthly versions or so...

:good: In case of resurrection remix you only need to add/edit 1 file (local_manifest) to be able to compile a working rom. All the rest it just setting up ubuntu, init/sync repo an start building ...
Hmm it could be a reason to unlock bootloader.,)
XZDualRecovery
I've uploaded an EXTRA boot.img including XZDualRecovery provided by NUT's! http://nut.xperia-files.com/?ql=34070511dc3ee6809f305c66a5fa122fcbf9dcff
Just flash it before or after installing the PACROM zip. It contains the original kernel + DualRecovery. CyanogenRecovery really sucks, not even a way to make backups. Now we can
does this have a camera fix included, or does that need to be flashed separately? I don't have a backed up TA partition, so I rely on the fix for image processing (like many others on here, I'm sure).
thanks in advance and nice to see the ROM!

there's nothing like this included. as far as i know custom roms/ custom kernels can't handle drm keys from TA partition. not sure about flashable drm replacement, i don't think it will work, but maybe it does
perhaps someone knows more about this sony image processing stuff.
isn't that all software based? if so, i could imagine that a good camera app (FV-5 or something like) can bring the same results.
Great work mate. Been running a few hours with the updated boot.img
Hopefully there is no "memory leak"

That fix is only useful on stock Sony based rom's.
bugs update
(1) i found a small, almost funny bug. couldn't reboot to recovery today because phone always ended with shutdown. i desperately flashed the boot.img again but no change. only after deactivating everything i thought not being active at installation the problem disappeared.
well, it's the active alarm, that i use every morning ...
(2) in call volume issue seem's to be somewhere hidden in android_device_sony_z3c/audio/mixer_paths.xml of the repo. just in case someone likes to search
I have noticed a small bug, could be just me though. When rebooting while plugged in to the USB charger it goes as far as the Sony logo then freezes until I unplug it. How would I go about submitting a bug report for it?

Hi, thank's for that! I've just reproduced what you wrote. On my phone this is also connected to active alarm clock. It's rebooting fine when alarm is off. So, quite the same as my last post.
I have no suggestion about real bug reports, because of 2 reasons: this is an unofficial build, primarily for myself ... but shared. I would stop building if Z3C would get official PAC support. And I've just started building roms 2 months ago. So, I'm not having the skills (yet) for advanced debugging. Right now it's more like being voluntary apprentice  ... I'm gonna add your input it into 1st post.
For now stability of this rom is mainly dependent on PACROM itself and official CM support.
Im glad you could reproduce the same bug. I think you have done a great job mate. I'm loving this ROM and appreciate your efforts. I'm trying to figure the dev side of things myself, not having much luck yet.

Good job, m8!
Can someone post a picture, taken by camera on this phone with this rom ?
A picture of a door , or a wall, for example. Any picture featuring a rectangular shape with straight lines.
I had a broblem be4 on CM12 @z3c , the camera ( any camera app ) took pictures, distorting proportions, like there was a fisheye filter applied
