Interesting idea on how to install the kernel. I hadn't thought of trying that approach with what I've been working on. Did you start with the kernel source downloaded from LG?

Someone care to make a flashable zip of this?
The feature list seems to all -too technical...any reason why I would want to use this kernel over the default stock that comes with e.g. Malladus ROM?

his way of installing it is very inventive. I wish I had thought of it long ago. Kudos to the OP. Well done!

Yes I did I'm just getting my Github up and going and it'll be there as well

Could you elaborate on what you fixed? "fixed gamma" is kinda vague. I thought there was a fix in the kernel of the KK google play kernel. Im wondering how you fixed in in this kernel.

By using the eabi 4.7 toolchain the gamma are fixed during the compiling of the kernel

Excellent work! I'm very pleased that my guide has been helpful in your journey to completing a kernel! A lot of people (including Lg), will be very happy with the gamma corrected for their device. Again, well done.

Great Job
This is a fine piece of work. The LG Pad's gamma issue is pretty well sorted here, with deep blacks, no wash-out and crisp, well-defined images. That yellow tint has gone!
Well done, you. You may be 14 but you can run with the pros - and show them a thing or two.
:good:

Yes, I installed it via your RESTORE method. It went on smoothly.
I'm still assessing its overall impact, but the gamma fix is evident and wonderful. The launcher interface also seems slicker.
What other benefits should I expect?

This kernel may work on 4.4.2 Rome I'll test now

i expanded my contrast to 2-253, stock it was 5-250. I did have to install screen adjuster and set it to contrast -45 for both.
If you want a quick test. Run stock, watch the disney "let it go frozen" video and look at the dress and back ground. stock she is wears a jet black outfit. with this kernel and screen adjuster you can clearly see her black crushed velvet out fit with wrinkles ect.
so what is are these init.d scripts im hearing about?

YOU PROBABLY DON'T WANT THIS...DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME!!!!!
This is just what I want, not necessarily what you want http://www.mediafire.com/?tstgikwhfezj6ph
This Rom will mostly be unsupported and unmaintained.
Flash at your OWN RISK.
What it is:
Stock slide rom.
added busybox
added netcat (busybox nc isn't good enough for me)
added bash
added htop
removed link toolbox->df (prefer the one in busybox)
removed link toolbox->rm (prefer the one in busybox)
changed the default animated boot ADVERTISEMENT and jingle
pngcrushed and zipaligned apks (with the execption of one) to save some space
Kangs:
what isn't.
maybe a few more little changes I forgot.
changes:
from 1.0.0 to 1.0.1:
added a2sd (from eugene373's smr5r1. breaks boot animation)
added default themes back.
from 1.0.1 to 1.0.2
added e2fsck
mySlide-1.0.0-signed
mySlide-1.0.1-signed
mySlide-1.0.2-signed
Themes in this are broken (1.0.0 only). If you want the default themes back then flash this...
themes-signed.zip
hey dumfuq glad to see you over on the slide section now. can we expect some overclocked kernals from you like on the g1?

Not sure why you say that (in those words), but this does look decent!
Also, noob question, but are the stock ROMs (apps included) not zipaligned by default?
Yup they were already zipaligned. At least the ones I just checked
Honesty I didn't even look first. The crush actually takes off about 10Mb though.
yo dumfuq quick question... what exactly is required in editing a kernel to allow for overclocking and undervolting?

Not exactly sure if this is what your asking but basically...
You need the kernel source code to edit (the legend kernel source has the espresso board files),
A handy dandy text editor (like vim),
a cross-compiler (There is one under prebuilt/linux-x86/toolchain in an AOSP or cyanogenmod build environment),
and a linux environment (cygwin might work not really sure).
1. download source
2. unpack source
3. edit source
4. set environmental variables
4. compile source
5. make a boot.img or an update.zip
Obviously that's incredibly simplified, but hopefully you get the idea.
Ok quick question to the maker of this rom... How can i add the themes back to this rom? I want to put the themes back but i dont kno which folder to put them in. Also which folder is where i can change the boot animation you have installed to stock? Thanks
this actually seems like exactly what i want. My only question is does it support a2sd. if so.. i have a new rom

good question. a2sd is a plus
you don't put them in anywhere. you can download and install them. there's a thread already with a small pack of themes to download and install. You install like any other APK. Search this forum section for them.

The PNG crush killed the stock themes. If you want them back you can either boot to recovery and push the original ones to /system/app/ or just flash this...themes-signed.zip. That is just an update.zip that will copy the original themes back to your phone.

Nope. Currently I don't use a2sd, or this rom really. I made this just for an optimized stock rom to bounce back to when needed. Currently I'm running a customized version of eugene's cm6 as my daily driver.
in your experience.. how hard would it be for a novice to add a2dp to this? I did a quick google and found about 3 good pages of data.. but it seems pretty complicated (packing and repacking boot.img looks to be pretty intense on a windows machine without any experience from what i can tell). Do you think i should attempt this? LOL.

[KERNEL][TOUCHWIZ] PeanutButta Jelly

Here is a custom kernel based on the latest GT-N7100 sources for the Note 2. I've taken a lot of stuff out, so if you like playing around with changing 500 things on the kernel before you start using your phone, look somewhere else. It pulls in Beoffla Sound and Simple IO Scheduler and removes as much debugging stuff as possible, non-default CPU and IO schedulers, and Ext2 Support (Ext4 handles Ext2/3). I've also gotten rid of recovery over-write on boot and enabled adb root by default.
There is no overclocking support, overclocking is useless unless you're pumping up your e-peen. There is no undervolting support as it hasn't been shown to do anything useful on multi-core systems from everything I've seen. There is no init.d support as 90% of the init.d scripts are useless. It will continue using stock boot animations as well, though I'm sure it wouldn't be to difficult to make stock android boot animations work. That may even be possible without any kernel changes anyway.
The only issue I've run into is that exFAT SDcards may not work with it. I've been trying to figure out why, but it is slow going when I don't have an exFAT card to test with. If anyone would like to help fix it, flash and get me full dmesg and logcats. If you don't know how to get those, but still want to help, see my SDK Guide for a general overview of what to do.
This kernel is built for TouchWiz ROMs, and should work on any available VZW ROM currently available. It works for VRALJB, VRALL4, and VRAMC3 from my own testing, let me know if you have issues on a TW ROM and I may be able to fix it. For a download, see below. I also am not posting in original development because IMO, that entire forum is useless and confusing.

Update your recovery. TWRP that is flashed via the unlock method does not process asserts properly (it was compiled for a different Note 2 model). This is meant to keep people from flashing this to the wrong device.
My exFAT SDcard isn't working
See the OP, I need info to get exFAT to work properly. Until then, format your SDCard to FAT32
Where are all the options?
You can't read, I already said there are none. This is flash and forget it.
This is the best thing since sliced bread, can I make it rain?

Just reflash your old kernel. If you were on stock before, I've posted the stock kernels at the end of this post.

Send me both the output from dmesg and logcat as well as details of what you do when you see the problem. Otherwise, the source is linked to below, fix it yourself.

Lockscreen Wallpaper?
Been using the newest build for a few hours now and so far so good, no FC's and very fast compared to my last ROM (PAC 4.4.4) however one minor and very odd bug, there appears to be no option to change lockscreen wallpaper outside of a full theme setting.
Also it would be nice if you could possibly implement an option for sweetener packs into the ROM to overwrite current theme settings because as it stands if you use a CM11 theme then try to mod the status bar for example with a sweetener pack, it ignores the pack and keeps the theme since it only mods stock theme. It might be worth looking into the Xstana Xposed module for ideas if you wished to implement it.

I see varben had moved on. Pity, the two of you seemed to work well together. Where are you at with LP development now? Currently using this ROM 4.4.4. Should I move to one of your other ROMs? Prefer and appreciate your work. Cheers

My bad, I posted my question on the wrong Forum.
I was trying to Flash Xperia Z kernel on Xperia phone on Euphoria ROm.
Any ways, my problem is solved now.
I simply flashed Euphoria rom without wiping data, only cache and dalvik cache.
I was surprised to see none of my applications were erased,
Phone boot up with all my settings and apps saved,
I didn't loss anything.
I thought Flashing Euphoria rom over existing Euphoria rom with problematic EvoFlush rom would overwrite every thing but gladly it didn't happen.
Thanks!

Nice ROM - fast. Two issues; calendar not syncing and solved by installing google calendar. Long press back kill app not working.

[FIX] Low Mic Call V1_Final [ALL ROMS]

This modification definitely fix the low mic issue on call without affect anyone else.
Simply extract the rar file and put LowMicFix.zip and LowMicFix.prop files on your phone. Reboot your phone into custom recovery mode (TWRP, CWM) and flash LowMicFix.zip.
This solution work now on All ROM !
For more confort if you are on Rom with CyanDelta installed, put LowMicFix.zip and LowMicFix.prop in the Cyandelta folder and in the app option add LowMicFix.zip to " Install additional zip after ROM ".
Change applied in build.prop by the fix V1_Final
BEFORE FIX
ro.qc.sdk.audio.fluencetype=fluence
persist.audio.fluence.voicecall=true
AFTER FIX
ro.qc.sdk.audio.fluencetype=fluence
persist.audio.fluence.voicecall=true
persist.audio.fluence.voicerec=false
persist.audio.fluence.speaker=false

After few day on test, this modification definitely fix the low mic issue on call without affect anyone else. The solution comes from the same problem encountered on the LG G2 and fixed by LG in its stock Rom. I create a recovery zip for apply it.
Simply extract the rar file and put LowMicFix.zip and LowMicFix.prop files on your phone. Reboot your phone into recovery mode (TWRP, CWM) and flash LowMicFix.zip.
This zip change and add the necessary lines to fix it in the build.prop file. this solution work on all rom based on CM11 or CM12.
thank to klenamenis for his " Dynamic automated build.prop editing ".

dont take this the wrong way but you can test it out and let the community know. I mean its just addition to your build.prop as I read it and it wont blow your phone up
Also he has 3 thanks and I would assume thats there for a reason
Never unheard of to ask for second opinions, don't you think?

1. I'm sure this is harmless, yet, asking for backup isn't unheard of here. I'd rather ask before trying to see if this has been vetted by others. Not clubbing baby seals by asking.
2. People click "thank you" all the time. Look I even clicked it for you.
Don't worries, the zip create a backup of your build.prop before change and add new line on it. But you are right, 200 download and nothing people say it's good or not ! But i think, no news.... Good news !
Good Morning. I could not even test the impact , but the OPO remains functional in any case. The changes in the build.prop set the OPO not in the bootloop .
Does this patch fix the 2G issue that the voice is scrambled in calls when using the internal mic?
Will this mod affect this "true stereo mod"?

No my fix doesn't touch any xml config file of android, only edit your build.prop for specific configuration of the hardware mic material.

I get it but I mean research the zip and see what it's doing then try it. We flash roms to our phones from people we do not know everyday. Oh well I hope you tried it and it helped you out. No seals were harmed in this post.
Take it easy
This fix (the first version) did NOT work for me. I'm running on the latest nightlies of CM12 on my OPO. Is it worth trying v0.1? Also, for those worried about anything going wrong you can easily just flash the latest nightly directly or via CyanDelta and all the changes will go away.
+yamsta have you see in the build.prop if new lines are here ?
Wouldn't it be easier just to provide the required changes as well? I do not like flashing ZIPs without exactly knowing what is going to be changed.

for more reliability, it's easier for the user to flash a zip than manually edit a file and less dangerous.
For more simplicity, add the zip to Cyandelta additional zip automated the process after all new nightly

Maybe so, but for more clarity, it's always better for someone who puts up a fix to state exactly what the fix is doing, so users can evaluate whether they want to try it or not. Please list out the changes that your patch makes, and how it tries to fix the issue. Thanks.
