Is this a fake or authentic Otterbox? - Galaxy Note 3 Accessories

Seems to be too cheap.... Seller has good ratings. No mention of people receiving a fake...
Is this legit?

Well, considering the company who is selling it is Otterbox.....

Its most likely a last years model or a model that isn't selling well.

The seller is Cellular AccyStore.
Sent from my SM-N900P using XDA Premium 4 mobile app

OK I placed an order for it. $34 shipped.
I somehow doubt I'm getting a normally $70.00 case for nearly half off.
But if its a counterfeit of decent quality, I can't complain at the price I paid.
Really it doesn't matter..... But this just seems too good to be true....

Turns out the seller is known for shipping our Chinese replicas.
I really hope I don't get shafted. Too late to cancel the order. XD.

If it's too good to be true, than it most likely is!
Lots of fake (otterbox cases) on Amazon!
Don't accept them! File a complaint, report it to Otterbox. This insanity must stop.
Just because it's half the price of a real one does not mean it's half the quality. More like half-ass quality that will fall apart long before you switch to another device! Simply unacceptable.

All counterfeit Otterbox cases I have seen start falling apart after a couple months... If they even last that long.
Sent from my SM-N9005 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app

where do you get 70 dollars for a otterbox? i bought my defender brand new 3 weeks ago with clip from bestbuy mobile was only 50.

I've purchased a defender case off EBay and the same case from Best Buy for 2 GS3's. The case from BB started stretching out so I had to request a replacement. The case I ordered off EBay for $30 is still going strong a year later

I'll ultimately have to see what happens when it arrives to see if its fake.

So what I gathered is, there are indeed tell tail signs of counterfeit Otterbox cases.

I ordered one sunday.....i believe its real. While that seller is the cheapest theres a few sellers selling for under $35. Theres even one for $33 sold by amazon. The fact is the camo cases arent selling that good for the note 3. Probally because A: the case is really big maybe a little to camo for some and B: the note 3 is a real classy looking phone and alot of buisness people have it. They all probally want just your typical all black defender

So I cracked my screen!

So I was laying down and the phone slide off my wireless charger I knocked it off actually and it literally fell 2 feet and cracked hit the corner of the screen had the case on my phone the stock case but it offers no protection. So I'm really hoping the replacement phone doesn't come with ota update then I'd be able to root. Crossing fingers and now I have to get a really good case for this phone that offers protection.

I had mine on a wireless charger on a table about 5ft up. I got up to get some water, stepped on the wire and the device launched in the air about 8-9 ft with stock case. Landed face down on the screen. I thought it was totally done. I pick it up and not one scratch. I guess some are just luckier than others . I drop my phone from 5 feet+ all the time doing bunny hops on my bike when it falls out of my pocket and never any scratches. I think this phone is really strong and durable. Can I see a picture of the device? It hurts to see such a great device and such terrible condition.

No way these can be worth a crap, right? I mean, $7???
I have found the original note 2, s2, and s3 batteries for about $4 a piece if you order from Samsung (Korea) directly
I ordered these today and although they are not NFC enabled, when at conventions where I am on my phone for over 14 hours straight without charging it, anything that allows me to use my phone will work. Hopefully these aren't crap and only last an hour.

this. buy a $750 phone and drop a $7 battery in it doesnt quite make sense to me. i canceled my order.
I bought the Onite set up like this for 12 dollars and they worked better than the Samsung battery on my Note 2. So this isn't so crazy. I think I will wait a bit before ordering and see if Onite comes out with the same thing. The Hyperion for $35 seems a little expensive.
It's probably this cheap because they order a bunch, but who knows. I pre-ordered some. If it sucks, then it sucks. Otherwise, a good deal.

AceSoft 3660 nfc battery

My personal experience with 3rd party extended batteries has been wide ranging from having a winner to getting ripped off. Personally I have only found 3 brands that I trust other than Samsung; Anker, Hyperion, and AceSoft. I didn't realize it until searching that AceSoft has their own store online that actually had better deals than people selling their batteries on eBay. I ordered one of the 3660mah NFC capable batteries. I will try to post a thorough review here when I get it including testing the nfc capability.

Curious if this is really 3660. If my stock battery usually lasts 24 hours, am I correct in assuming this would give me an additional 3-4 hours?
Edit
I noticed that on Amazon it says that these batteries are 3300. I guessing that is more realistic, since 3660 seemed too good to be true.
I don't know if the one I bought is the same as the ones listed on Amazon as 3300mah. I sent a message to AceSoft asking them about it. If the battery doesn't perform at least a little better than stock and I am going to contact them about a refund as I can get the 3300mah cheaper on amazon. If it performs like it should so that I won't be retuning it, I will peel the paper and look to see of the mah is stamped under it. I was going to do that first but they have a one of those tags on the paper seam so they can tell if you have broken the seal.
Update: The person I contacted at AceSoft stated that they have both the 3300mah and the 3660mAh batteries.
I'm also very curious as to the battery improvements of this battery.

Using it right now. Sure it does feel heavy and stuff. Aint water proof more like water resistant the glass panel of the casing easily left a finger print mark. Phone feels solid and sturdy drop it a few times and it sure does give u a peace of mind knowing how well this case protects your phone. To me even if it feels heavy or big or bulky it is well worth it to spend on it rather than letting your phone drop and smashed.

i had one for my S4 and I can tell you the following:
water covering over the earpiece makes it hard as hell to hear anyone
water covering over the speaker makes anything playing out of it dull sounding and not as loud
water covering over the mic makes anyone on the phone sound muffled
Now I took all my water coverings off so it was pretty much a metal otterbox with no waterproof seals and I loved it. Some people didnt like how heavy it was, but it was not a big deal for me.

Great, thanks a lot for your reply. I buy it as fast as possible !
Well whenever I saw the TakTik case for the iPhone I was VERY tempted to jump over the chasm just for that beautiful beast of a case! I've always looked for a case that would mimic the TakTik. If anyone can post a picture or two of it, and also if anyone finds a link for a low price for one, I'm sure all of us will appreciate it!

Found one for $29.90 with free shipping worldwide! There are some a bit cheaper, but I always search for the seller with a decent amount of feedback at 100%. You can also choose from a few colors!
Does anyone know about the screen protector that's built in? How responsive is it?

I got one on my phone everything is functional. Yes s-pen is in there but on exposed there is a mod to hid all items in the top left of the status bar so this way you can leave your s-pen a quarter of the way out and you will be able to pull it out with your finger nail other then that it's great. I had to buy a case with a holster for the 6.3 mega to use it with a holster. I heated up the side of the holster with a heat gun bent them out and now it's no longer a brick in my pocket. Down side it's heave now with the case one hit and you can knock someone out cold with it and still make a phone call when done. Lol I haven't tried. If you guys want pics I'll be happy to post some.

Pretty responsive. It was made of a real glass not sure is it a true corning gorilla glass or just a normal glass for the case screen protector. I'd say worth the money bro. Should get it. Im sorry no picture as i didnt have a phone or xtra phone to take a picture of it

Is there any sort of TPU on any of their protection levels to help absorb shock/impact in case of a fall?
Thanks for all the responses! I ordered one from the link I posted earlier. When I receive it I will make a video for you all, probably won't be anything special but it I'm sure will help out your decision making process. I absolutely can not wait!

yeah win
So I have had this for a couple of days now and I have to say it works way better than the 3 stock cover slide in aftermarket receivers I tried.
This factory one works great on the Nokia bases that all the other units choked on.
Now I set it down on them and I don't have to be careful. It just charges. None of that on and off stuff the other after market inserts did.

Pair that with this Nokia DT-900 and you're in business

No new cover needed
I see the S5 has an official cover released now too. But these covers seem to be fatter than stock.
wiqiqi dot com - The Note 3 receiver they're selling here is what I am using without any added thickness and no issues whatsoever. And it's cheaper too.
Is this cover like the stock back cover that makes the camera lens pop out or its like the cases that makes the camera not pop out?
I mean I'm planning to get the aluminum bumpers but I am also looking for a back cover that secures the camera when put on flat surfaces

I am going to be getting the note 3 next week, and I am definitely interested in wireless charging, I've never used it before.
Tell me, please, do you still have access to the USB port when this is installed? Does it replace the original back cover that comes with the phone? How does it connect to the battery? Does it charge slower over wireless than when charging via USB? Does it affect NFC?
I realize these questions could be Googled, but if someone has this unit it would take only a moment to answer. Thank you

It is thicker than the stock back cover, just like the sview cover. The camera is recessed and does not touch anything when you lay the phone on its back. Perfect for a bumper case.

You still have access to the USB port and can charge through the USB port if you like. If you look at the picture you can see pins that stick out.... Those connect to the phone allowing the battery to charge wireless and it does replace the whole back cove and make the phone a little thicker. Lastly it does charge slower especially compared to the thr USB 3.0 cable that comes with the phone. I have not tested nfc as I really don't have a use for it but I'm pretty sure it doesn't affect if if you get the Samsung and not an aftermarket.

The UAG case. Works like a charm. I know it fits the trident case as well as the tech 21 case.

Nice case, thanks! My cover will be here today, man that was quick!
Thx for your information. Nice price
I finally broke down and ordered a bear motion bumper and just got it today and I have to say with the thickness of the back cover, the bear motion bumper definitely is the best fit. It adds a little grip and protection but not to much bulk. Feels just right.

How much thicker is it? Will cases like the Spigen Neohybrid or Ultra fit still fit?
