How to: 4.4.2 TW ROM - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S 4

I take no credit for this work.
This was brought to my attention by another user the other day. After some messing around I booted up a 4.4.2 TW ROM for my I545.
First, be on the MDK bootloader.
Then, do the usual back up and wipe...
Then install the I9505 GoldenEye ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2427629
Dont reboot...
Run Loki-Doki: http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23329332407577109
Reboot and let it sit. It takes about 5 or 6 minutes to boot, after it boots you will need to put in the Verizon APN settings:
Name: Verizon
APN: internet or vzwinternet
Proxy: blank
Port: blank
Username: blank
Password: blank
Server: blank
MMSC: http://mms.vtext.com/servlets/mms
MMS Proxy: blank
MMS Port: 80
MCC: 310
MNC: 012
Authentication type: not set
APN Type: internet + mms
Then you are good to go with 4.4.2 TW. :good:

Apperantly I am late to the game as jrkruze posted something similar : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2674280
I did not have to use jrkuze's patch, the Loki-Doki worked perfect for me with no issues. But I know for one person he could not access his APN settings so he had to use jkruze's patch. The jrkruze patch also is having MMS issues that he is working to fix. I have faith his method will be fully functional soon and will work for more people.
I will keep this post updated to any changes on my end

According to jrkruze's first post this is for the MDK bootloader, you should probably put that in the beginning of this thread also.

I wish I understood more of why my way works for some and jrkruze works for others. It is weird that some have APN and others dont. Jrkruze will figure it out he always does. I have 100% faith in his skills. Give it some time but for now, if this way doesn't work for you use the jrkruze method and use either hangouts or 8sms they are reportedly working while he finds a fix.

With the ROM + Loki doki I could get to apn settings through an app shortcut. Calls would work but no text/data. With ROM + jkruse's zip I have everything working except MMS, and now I actually have an APN settings option where you said it was. Only thing is I can't edit them since they are greyed out.

Unable to send MMS since going to Serendipity 8

HI,
I loaded Serendipity 8 and think it's great. Only issue is that I am unable to send MMS messages. I checked on the DEV forum and tried the fix with deleting the telephony.db, but that did not fix it for me.
Anyone have any suggestions. I use this MMS a lot.
Thanks
David
Did u wipe data and cache in recovery before flashing? If not I'd recommend it. I didn't have a problem with it.

Yes. I also just reflashed and same issue. Just sticks at sending and then eventually times out. I was just using this yesterday on stock with no issues.

How is this done?
Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names
Create a new APN, (assuming you have AT&T) then:
Name: MMSC
APN: Phone
MMSC: hhtp://mmsc.cingular.com
MMS Proxy: wireless.cingular.com
MMS Port: 80
APN Type: mms
When done, press Menu > Save

Perfect. This fixed it. Thanks a million!!!
I've attempted all the suggestions above, as well as in the main thread, and no luck. The only thing I haven't tried is the one directly above--how would I push the unnamed mms .apk's to the system/app folder?
VERY new to the Android scene, but so far love the customization.
You would need to copy the two apk files to your phone. After that replace the current two files with these ones. I use root explorer file manager but I'm sure that many other will do just fine. Then restart your phone and you're all set.

Found a file manager, copied them over and reset phone. No noticeable changes, and most definitely can't send MMS. Unfortunate, as I really like S8 otherwise. Might have to try Unnamed though.

Heres my advice:
#1: Download CM7 on your computer
#2: extract MMS.APK from the app folder within the zip
#3: move that apk into your phone, and using root explorer, move it to your system/app folder. (back up your original apk first).
#4: make sure the permissions are correct.
#5: Enjoy perfect MMS messages that don't show up as pictures, and gain the opportunity to use black background and custom notifications settings.

I personally don't know how to explain this. In stock it works fine, switching to the UnNamed Rom worked fine, then with yours it just doesn't work. I shouldn't have to bring an apk or w/e from another Rom to Serendipity, and I shouldn't have to change APN or any other setting because I'm using a stock AT&T sim card. I'm not unlocked or anything so it should work. It, for some odd reason, does not work with your Rom...

ATT Visual Voicemail for ICS (taken from SkyRocket forum)

*Remove the TXT extension from the XML file attached first
Put VVM_release_aligned.apk in /system/app
Put com.att.vvm.sharedlib.xml in /system/etc/permissions
Put com.att.vvm.sharedlib.jar in /system/framework
Set permissions to each of these rw-r--r-- (that is read write for owner, read for group, read for other)
Reboot, turn off Wifi, and launch it from the app drawer to setup.
Note: On mine I initially got a "Not registered on network" message probably because I was on Wifi, but if this happens, leave VVM running in the background, call your voicemail manually and login, then go back to VVM. I'm not sure why it doesn't like Wifi being enabled.
This is for using ICS via your phone thru ATT's servers? In other words, a VM instanced ICS thru ATTs server?

I'm pretty sure that was his way of saying that you should probably spell out "VM" in the thread title... 'VM' normally means 'Virtual Machine', so saying "Visual VM" might confuse people.

Any KK NC5 Odex hotsopt?

Guys,
Is there any Odex Hotspot MOD available for KK NC5?
It's not free but it seems to work. READ INSTRUCTIONS IN DESCRIPTION LINK FOR CORRECT SETTINGS. Also, it's a good idea to reboot, after using and disabling properly, before using phone as normal. Check out "WiFi Tether Router"

Also, you need root.

Ylla26,
I have written a comprehensive post on installing custom ROMs. Please see that post for information. Since you already have NC5, you can skip step #3. Step #4 is not required, but I'd recommend it anyways.
Let me know if you have any more questions.
Hope this helps!
Guys you need to keep looking and search on the forum. All the questions are already answered you just need to look for it instead of asking for it.

Just to confirm this is for the Sprint Galaxy s5 correct

Anyone know how to set a picture next to your name in your text messages?

Sorry if this in the wrong section.
I'm wondering why I can't set a picture for myself. I've tried to create a contact for myself and add a picture, didn't work when before it did when I was on sprint note 3 mj4 ROM. Tried clicking on the blank picture in the text message area and it just says the contact does not exist. Also set a picture through Google+ and that didn't work lol. Also tried synching Google again too. I'm currently running sprint note 3 cm12.1. I've never had trouble before setting a picture for myself, anyone have any clues or suggestions? I'm stumped...

That's how my phone used to be back on mj4 ROM. Its not like that anymore. So yeah, unfortunately there's no me at the top of the contacts anymore.

Are you sure? I'm on the latest sprint stock Odin and there is a "Me" at the top of mine with my name. I'm unsure why yours isn't this way. Do you have service on your phone or are you using it as a WiFi device? I just don't see why it wouldn't show unless you have something blocking it (like using a different contacts app). Also, when I text, I can touch the face and it'll bring my contact info. I can then touch the pencil icon to edit it and if I click the + circle next to my name, I can select a picture.

I'm not on a stock ROM, maybe that's why? I'm on cm12.1. And yes I do have service.
