I hope the GPS will be fixed soon.
Nagyon ügyes vagy, hatalmas nagy tisztelet érte.

I've got an UL bootloader, but wanted to say congratulations - I will test this when I get home.
You'll make lots of people very happy.

Wow!
Can't wait to be at home to try it!
Awesome work!
Thanks in advance to all the devs involved in the project!!

Nice work, gz!

Brilliant work! Will keep a close on this.

I will test in an unlocked bootloader, thankfully OTG works, I could not have in a kitkat based rom, you think you can build 11 cm?

I am very happy with this project. Finally someone thought about users without the possibility of unlocking the bootloader. I keep my fingers crossed for error corrections. I hope that more developers will begin to support locked Bootlader.

Thx
Thank you to everyone.
Paulinhip:Yes I do, but we need modified media/display CAF source.

Submitted it to EagleEyedTom to be featured on the Portal. Awesome work mate

Portal says that 2nd init method can also be used to port newer versions of android by loading custom modules... What does that means? does it mean kitkat. On locked bl, using stock 4.3 kernel??? Please help me understand

Yes, I think it means that a CM11 kernel can be bolted on and hijack the boot process.

Using this awesome piece of work since about 12h, running nicely since beginning!
Some messaging, calling, web browsing, Also some youtube: everything Nice!
Just wondering, couldn't see any LTE option? Am I blind, or it isn't supported in this time?
Also, @op, i mirrored the ROM, just let me know if i can post the link!

It's in phone info hidden menu. You have to enter *#*#4636#*#* on your dialer to open it.
And don't forget to take a look at unlocked bootloader version of you have other problems. They might have been discussed there already

About me
I´m a new developer for the Ray. I come from the LG gt540, for which I created TWRP ports (only touch recovery for the device).
I have now created a kernel based on the 4.1.B.0.587 sources by Sony.
It´s called:
FlyKernel
Its purpose:
- Smoothest experience possible
- Stay as close to stock as possible
- Only the most useful governors, io scheds and tweaks will be included
- Let the users have input on features
- But most important of all: Let the Ray Fly.
At the moment its very smooth and gets around 4000 in antutu (smartassv2 1,4ghz).
Let me know what you guys want in the kernel, which governers, which IO schedulers etc. I want to keep it as minimal as possible.

you can add wifi modules in kernel. check my git, there's kernel ramdisk that can load modules on boot. just put your modules in right folder.

Hi!
Is this kernel support the two way call recording?
run this one (and updated wifi module) with jj 3.3 and a lot of minor mod, still fine until now.
Pretty fine kernel. I will donate when I get my payment via paypal
PS: the flykernel text in boot too slim, a bit hard to read to me.

[DEV] CyanogenMod 10.1 Galaxy5 Port [androidarmv6]

CyanogenMod 10.1 Galaxy 5 Port [psyke83] [androidarmv6]
Current port status: release candidate - suitable for daily use, but you should read the ROM Status before deciding if you want to use this ROM.
Latest release: 20130117 [v0.2] <--- this link is not broken... learn what "RTFM" means
Latest Google Apps package: gapps-jb42-20121130-psyke83-v1 <--- only use this version, as the standard Google Apps packages will not fit on our device. Do not attempt to use any other version.
Want to help with development? Contribute Galaxy5Parts translations for your native language to be used in upcoming releases. See DSM_'s Galaxy5Parts thread for more details. Many thanks to DSM_ for his work, and thank you in advance for all who contribute.
Hey folks,
This is a port of CyanogenMod 10.1 [androidarmv6 fork], a community-developed Android ROM based on Jelly Bean 4.2.1, for the Samsung Galaxy 5 (GT-I5500/GT-I5500L/GT-I550M/GT-I5503/GT-I5508/Europa) series phones.
Pre-requisites:
Visit the Basebands thread, and make sure that you are using a baseband that is compatible with CyanogenMod. If you are still using an Eclair ROM, you must update your baseband or you will experience boot loops.
Visit the ClockworkMod thread and install the latest ClockworkMod build via Odin.
[Optional] Install MAD Manager or GooManager from the Google Play store.
Installation:
Download the latest release as well as the latest gapps-jb42 package from MAD Manager, GooManager or via PC using the links at the bottom of this post.
Once the files have been downloaded/transferred to your phone's SD card, reboot into recovery.
Important: if you are updating from a stock ROM, CM7, CM9, CM10 or any other ROM that is not my own CM10.1 build, you are recommended to perform a data wipe. I will not offer support or guarantee a stable ROM if you ignore this step.
Install the update package, followed by the Google Apps package, and then reboot.
Releases / changelog:

20130601 [v0.1]
md5: 0b1d6fae21f50928dd55f25fc078f7fa
ROM status: all hardware & major features working (see ROM Status post for more details)
ROM issues (unconfirmed): there may be a possibility of a bootloop on second reboot if you do not enable USB debugging. I need more time to verify. In the meantime, keep it enabled to be safe. Go to Settings -> About phone -> Build number (press repeatedly) to unlock the hidden developer menus.
ROM issues (minor): kernel USB driver uses product id for Galaxy S, which may cause some confusion in Windows applications; USB mass storage mode may be slower than before; zRam causes system instability and should not be used.
First build of CyanogenMod 10.1 (androidarmv6 fork)
Adapted galaxy5 source into shared Samsung repositories
Updated to kernel 2.6.37.6
Renamed EuropaParts to Galaxy5Parts and improved code
Lots of small fixes & optimizations (see github)

CyanogenMod 10.1 ROM Status - updated 17/01/2013 for v0.2
Should I use this ROM?
Consider the following:
Jelly Bean's minimum requirements are 512MB of RAM, a 256MB /system partition and an 800Mhz CPU. Our device has 256MB of RAM (181MB usable), a 175MB /system partition, and the CPU can only run up to 768Mhz (when overclocked) at most. You must accept that you are running a version of Android that has higher demands than your phone can satisfy (meaning: it can lag).
Due to the small /system size, some features of the ROM have been removed, including the Video Editor, Live Wallpapers, as well as some Jelly Bean ringtones, wallpapers and optional fonts. There is simply no space to accommodate everything on our device.
The ROM is still not well-tested and may have some odd bugs.
If you're willing to accept these issues, then this ROM may suit you well. Otherwise, I recommend that you stay with a lighter ROM, such as Gingerbread.
Working:
2D & 3D acceleration with triple-buffering (Butter UI)
Audio (attenuation & extamp support included, FM support not yet implemented)
Bluetooth
Bluetooth tethering
Camera & camcorder
Fake dual-touch (optional)
Galaxy5Parts (Settings -> Device -> Advanced)
GPS
Hardware-accelerated video encoding/decoding (OMX)
Headset
Lights
Sensors
Telephony (calling, mobiledata & messaging)
Touchscreen (fake dual-touch also available)
USB Mass Storage
USB tethering
WiFi
zRam
Partially working/minor issues:
Intermittent lag. If your phone starts to feel unresponsive, hass visual stuttering or unusual battery draining, this may be due to a bug where NetlinkEvent constantly spams "Got a short RTM_NEWLINK message". This bug can occur at random times, and you can verify by looking at your logcat output to see if this error is occurring. As a workaround, run "stop netd; start netd" in a root shell to clear the problem. I will try to isolate the cause and solution to this problem for the next release.
USB drivers: the kernel in this release uses backported 3.0 USB drivers from the Galaxy S. As a side effect, the phone will use Galaxy S drivers (but the device name shown as GT-I5500 correctly). I will try to see if this can be better solved later.
WiFi tethering - WPA-PSK2 encryption may not work correctly; open and WPA-PSK encryption works fine.
Not working:
Nothing (?)
Reserved II
Market crashes (3.10.10 I think) but the RAM and the ROM works good, thank you:beer:

10 days with the rom:
Used Trebuchet until 6 days - okay and had no problems according to the launcher.
Used in the last four days New Launcher - Much more fluid compared to trebuchet, at least for me.
Using frequency max 729 and 480 min
Used manager Ondemand
Used I / O VR
Transparency 16 bit
Some had problems with receiving calls, it has not happened to me, Messaging - Send and Receive = Normal
Call - Made and recebids = Normal and without any fault
I'm from Brazil upstate St. Paul
Using baseband BVJJP9 - Without any problems
3G also worked at the CM7, both in the browser and in the applications and Play Store, no problems with that.
Hopefully with these few words that were afraid of using up can be encouraged.

Help on STK.apk
hi there i already try the CM10.1 for a week now, what i noticed is that the STK.apk(Sim Toolkit)
does not appear on the phone, i already copy & backup the STK.apk on System/apps and try to install it but no luck,
i uninstall it using the root explorer and download the new STK.apk on some Appszoom,
then i install it and it says "App not Installed An existing package by the same name with a conflicting signature is already installed"
hope you can resolve this, i really really love this CM 10.1
Stk.apk doesn't works on cm10.1 from Erickas and also not on cm10.1 from olddroid for galaxy gio and they are also part of armv6 team. On cm10 and cm9 it works great.

how to install the "ChaOri-K99 fireball3410 v2.00" ROM _correctly_
here you go:
my/our NEW ... Sense4+ FULL ROM port ... "ChaOri-K99 v2.00" is finally published
* please use __THIS new rom only__ for your current JB4.1 w/ Sense needs on fireball
(as we won't continue Infernal4+ from this point on as ChaOri-K99 replaces it)
ROM release thread here => http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2789698
tested and (currently ONLY nearly full working,) available JB4.1 Sense4+ ROM:
=> Infernal4+ v0.7beta thread
* 1) install jose51197's full ROM base "infernal4+.zip" v0.7beta
(this ROM ... might need the older TWRP 2.3.3.0 to install completely!)
* 2) install my BOTH update packs: combined-fixed OTA && xfixes-extras addon in here
(includes: all-in-1 ... fixed rilfix2, sensorfix_ota2, mms-fix & 24ky's modded rosie.apk)
(adds: libs, bins, audio+mic fixes & hopefully all the missing NFC stuff to infernal rom)
* 3) install my latest "k99-fireball3410" kernel last ... then wipe cache & dalvik, reboot
(this will upgrade you from jose51197's 3.0.8 mod-kernel to my "k99-fireball" 3.4.10 mod-kernel)
(& also fixes the WIFI connectivity for the new 3.4.10 kernel, while we are at it)
hope you like it
Good job bud!! Glad you posted it!
i told ya i will ... once it boots and the main (basic) features are all working ... ((okay, apart from the usual suspects: cam & audio))
UPDATE: audio subsystem for playback now fixed and working (only mic still problematic?!) ... & rotation now works as well!

thanks for your thanks ... but ...
as for Sense5 *cough* ... I don't like the visual looks for Sense5.x that much. I much prefer Sense4.5/4+. ... so there won't be ANY Sense5.x kernel from my side! At least NOT before the _camera_ (and the remaining little other things), so basically _everything_ is fully functional on this Sense4+ fireball3410-kernel release!
though IF we manage to fix the coding (and libraries!! inside the rom) to get the camera working, i might consider trying to port the _Evo4G-LTE JB4.3 Sense5.5 kernel_ to fireball.

But sense5 is very smooth
Sense4 + it's very old
just wanted to drop by and congratulate you on a great job keeping this phone going :good:
it was a shame the way that htc and verizon treated this phone from the late launch that put it both after the gsIII and right after unlimited data on phone upgrades was killed, and essentially crippled sales from the start....lack of updates (both sense4+ and sense 5 4.2.2 went into testing and were killed due to poor continued sales)....and poor promotion
i had a soft spot for the inc4g, and my wife was actually using mine until early in the year when she got a m7
always good to see a new developer pop up, and keep legacy devices going, congrats!
thanks nitsuj... i really love the device and that's why I decided oh coding for it (of no one else does?!)
as for e.g. Sense4+ had been in testing for fireball... i'd ABSOLUTELY LOVE to get my hands on THAT ROM!!! (or at least it's full lib & framework directories )... and yeah, it is such a real shame they didn't put out either update, especially considering that the main work of coding already HAD BEEN completed! (well i know: testing & quality assurance :/)
PS: i so much hope we get the cam fixed (by either dev's help!) oh the JB Sense kernel ... at least i still have some ideas left what i could try to get it xD

what a damn pity ... for once 1) for the poor coding folks at HTC who spend obviously several days and/or even weeks at their work creating the updated kernel and roms for fireball ... ... ... and now seeing that they've been just DELETED rather than ... at least _released AS IS_ with _no further warranty_ at all (for dev'ing purpose) even at least!
... and second 2) for us "poor private developers" who now have to REINVENT the wheel to recreate from scratch what HTC software developers already did long time ago (just without getting it released to the open public) ... instead we could work on real new features rather than having to get it working at all (considering that it _should_ be working without further ado using the official (though still unreleased) HTC code T_T). srry, but DAMN IT.
PS: sorry for the rant, but that was just so much fitting right here!
PPS: note to self and others: ADB via USB kinda fixed (even w/o a new kernel) ... code is somehow buggy and you need to enable usb-networking (?!? whyever ?!?) to get ADB via USB working ... and obviously reinstall your android usb-drivers for windows, that solved the prob for me, having to use adb-wireless instead). could have sth to do with the switch from "mass storage" in ICS -> "mtp media device" from JB onwards i assume. still the code in my kernel looks like it's the _same_ as for the other HTC MSM8960 devices with official HTC JB kernels! maybe it has to do with the ramdisk? need to investigate further, but at least MTP _and now as well_ ADB are completely working for me with "k99-fireball3410-200a3".

I can't wait to try this one. I'm going on vacation this weekend so it won't be until next week.
Thanks,
J
recent update:
* ADB via USB now fully works as expected (fixed a unexpected bug in the evita-usb code!)
* microphone and sound recording now also work as expected (was a bug with some files in the ROM, _not_ kernel related!)
* improved situation for the cam (kernel-hack wise *cough* ... will tell details later) ... but at least the camera app does NOT force-close anymore ... and ... the logcat doesn't complain any longer about no compatible cams found
will update github repo and flashable kernel-update download later
cheers
Im back
sweep2wake is done
just on a note ...
we (the "remaining" fireball (sense-)dev team: kimba99, jose51197, 24ky, megaghostgamer) ... now switched from the older "Infernal4+ 0.7beta" ROM to our _new child_ ...
"ChaOri-K99 v2.00" ... JB4.1.1 Sense4+ ROM (based on valentewxc9 build 3.05.709.1 & newly ported from scratch to fireball)

There aren't many roms that support the N950U that is why I am asking.

There aren't many roms that support the N950U that is why I am asking.

Is the OEM unlock switch hidden in your rom? I'm on an FD and as you're probably aware folks with dual sims usually have a hidden OEM unlock out of the box that is on a timer and becomes accessible after 7 days. This is problematic in that while Samsung is hiding the OEM unlock switch it is also apparently setting it's status to off. So far people who have installed roms after the 7 day timer with OEM without OEM hidden in the rom haven't had problems. Those who installed a rom where the developer has removed the switch have had mixed results, on some it's no problem, on others they will get a binaries error and cannot get out of it without installing stock firmware. That in turns means they have to wait a week for the OEM unlock switch to get off of it's timer...
Sorry for the length of that but before I us FD guys install we kinda need to know about that switch status, didn't want you to think I was asking for spoon feeding. I'd just install it and check it out if it weren't for the week with my nose in the corner if it didn't go well. Thanks.

Installed it on a FD and no issue with OEM unlock. It's active and can be switched either way.
WiFi calling is not working - big boomer for me, can't set a custom ringtone and Samsung switch on PC doesn't recognise the phone, so can't restore backed up settings.
Other than that it's great, many more features than other roms.
Mulțumesc mult OP!
Very smooth coming from RENOVATE, but I am unable to create app pair, the options seems to be missing altogether..
Rog, gonna go ahead and take it out for a spin.
Snap chat refuses to load, google settings keep crashing.."something went wrong"
Had some nastiness here on a full clean install, 1.0 rom though so I'm not surprised about that. I couldn't figure out how to disable the speed dealies on the left side of notifications and to me they are a complete waste of valuable notification space. I went ahead and uninstalled as it will be a few days before I'll have time to change roms again and I didn't want to be stuck with them in case it turned out they cant be removed. I'm sure I'll be back to check it out again, I like some of the Sony stuff.
