[Q] Twitter Notification sound incorrect since most recent app update (5.2.2) - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Yesterday, I got an update to Twitter version 5.2.2. I'm using a Sony Z1 Compact with Android version 4.3. Since the update, Twitter is now using the same sound as my SMS notifications - the phone default notification. I keep trying to set Twitter to use a different sound (within the application - Settings > Account > choose notification sound). Is anyone else seeing this? Something I am missing?
Thanks in advance!

Same problem here. After choosing other sound, setting does not really change.

Thankfully this appears to be resolved with the newest Twitter update to 5.2.3.
Thanks Twitter.

[Q] Not a phone - Music App Recommendations?

Does anybody know of an Android music app that BLOCKS NOTIFICATIONS AND ALERTS?
I'm tired of having my music interrupted by incoming email alerts every 5 or 10 minutes. If it was a phone, that would be one thing. But a tablet OS should prefer the multimedia experience to the messaging experience; or at least give you an option to set priority.
Thanks for all suggestions,
glg
Turn off the WiFi or the email.....use any app you please.
I can also set email to sync every 6 or 12 or 24 hours, but that doesn't answer the question I asked.
thx,
glg
You can go into Settings->Cyanogenmod Settings-> Notifications and disable notification focus. That should take care of your problem. Or just disable notifications for email or something.

Thanks for the reply. Your suggestion works if running CM7, but I don't find any corresponding Notifications settings in the CM9 builds yet.
HOEVER, I found exactly what I've been looking for in the Android Market: "Only Music Widget." Installs as a widget to your desktop and has a "only music player" switch (basically enables Airplane mode) so that no phone calls or notifications will interrupt your party mix. It works with your standard Android music player (even works with the HTC music player on my Flyer). And, it's free!

[Q] Email app - STOP Reminding Me!!!

Hello everyone,
Is there a way to turn off reminders for the stock email app. I will receive an email and then it keeps giving me additional notifications if I do not check the message. I want one notification, one alert and that's it. Can this be done somehow?
Thanks.
Anyone???
What version of android do you have? I never get more than one audible reminder and just the notification in the title bar.
Running Viper 2.0.2

[Q] dsc 2.3 notifications are all on?

I'm not allowed to reply to the dsc thread so I'll ask here
Anyone having trouble where notifications are on despite having then all off?
Facebook messages and notifications come through no matter I set and it applies to all the other apps I have.
I have never had an android behave this way and I'm not sure if this is a global issue with this Rom
The Facebook app has its own notifications settings which overrides the equivalent Android settings when the app is running. So, you need to go into Facebook's settings and uncheck the Notifications option to remove the notification.
But it occurs with other apps as well and I find it a very strange behavior for it to do that. I will need to check into this further. Otherwise maybe I just need to flash DSC on top of this and see if it fixes the weird behavior.
Then the issue is with the installation on your Streak, because I've not encountered this issue on DSC.

Did you have to fiddle around in the settings a bit to get them?
I have big notification problems. Gmail notification are coming late, but even worse, WhatsApp notifications are only coming when I open the app. Strangely, WhatsApp has been working fine for the first couple of days, but now it's a nightmare. I have followed every guide for improving the notifications, but to no avail.

I had to go to
settings -> Apps -> settings (at the bottom) -> Special Access -> Ignore Optimisations -> All Apps
and then manually select each app I wanted to allow notifications for. Before that got almost nothing from any app except phone and messages. Since then I haven't had any problems

That was one of the first things I did. Still WhatsApp is refusing to notify my in time. And by the way, you can't select Gmail because it is not listed in All Apps.

No problem with notification..all working fine
I'm bringing up this thread because I'm having problems with my Honor 9 not showing Telegram notifications unless I open the app. It doesn't *always* happen, but it's very annoying nonetheless.
I'm not having this problem with any other app.
I've tried whitelisting telegram for battery optimization, but to no avail.
Is anyone else having this same issue or knows how to solve it?
I'm not using telegram.
For my others notifications are working fine but not the LED notification for some apps.
I suspect it's because the default color choosen by defaultfor se apps is just not working with honor9's.
Hi there,
can anyone confirm if Telegram notifications work please?

Lenovo Z5 No-Notifications Issue

Greetings,
I received a Lenovo Z5 two weeks ago as a replacement to my old phone and so far it has been fantastically awesome... or most of it. I noticed that after a week factory resetting the phone for my personal needs and setting up, no notifications aside from phone calls and SMS pops up either on lock screen or on the notification tab while on home screen or using other apps. So far I have managed to get Facebook, Gmail, Outlook, Messangers and a few social networking apps (Zalo - Vietnamese version of Messanger/WeChat) working (partially) with their notifications. However, apps such as Discord, Reddit, Youtube, and a couple entertainment apps do not pop their notifications - they did pop up one time but after that nothing shows up even after couple of reboots.
I am currently using ZUI 10.5; all notifications settings are turned on. No apps' notification permissions were denied/blacklisted. Any help is appreciated.
Hello (Xin chao)
Are you a Vietnamese ?
I got the same issues
I tried this and now it works okay
There is an system app called Security, open it up and add apps to the white list (top-right small button, looks like a padlock)
Apps in this list will not be turn off and will receive notification normally.
Also, I found another solution, but haven't tried it yet
Maybe you can if the above solution doesn't work
Maybe you can try to install "Disable Doze" app below to see any effect:
play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.geroo.disabledoze
