[Q] WiFi Location doesn't work - [4.4.2][-O3][LINARO-4.8][OFFICIAL] LiquidSmooth v3 - HTC EVO 3D

I installed johnnyslt's LiquidSmooth ROM (Build: 1st March) on shooter.
But I noticed that WiFi location is not working at all.
(I confirmed GPS location does work:laugh
Does anyone else have the same problem?

Any idea?

I'm on the same rom and it works for me, have you tried reinstalled the rom?

Thanks for your response.
Yes. I'm sure. I've already tried to reinstalled several times.
The method of production is as follows:
- Turn on "Airplane Mode"
- Turn on WiFi (Note that mobile data connection is still disabled)
- Make sure location mode is set to "Battery Saving" (like a screenshot I attached)
- Try to launch google maps, for example
On my device, I can't confirm that WiFi location works properly.
Thanks.

For your infomation, I noticed that WiFi location of dastin's CM11, which did work before, now doesn't work
when its kernel began to be ported from MiRaGe kernel at March 19th's CM11(not Liquid Smooth) build.
So, I think there is something wrong with MiRaGe kernel related to WiFi location

is working for me also. however i am still getting the muffled sounds when playing a streaming service through the headphone jack. it works ok as long as i dont switch to a different app from the streaming app. but if i do switch the muffled part happens and then it requires a reboot to get it back to sounding normal. figured i would let you know johnnyslt. aside from that liquid smooth is the shizz keep up the good work. oh and im running the april 16th version.

Really great app! Thx!
Easy way to change the gpsconf file!
I was having problems with my GPS as well where it would not lock on no matter how long I waited. I did not have this problem when I first got my phone and I'm not sure when the bug was introduced. None of the software fixes worked for me, including the ones discussed here, and the problem persisted across all ROMS, including stock.
Finally I found someone in a forum that recommended removing the battery while the phone was on. I was hesitant to do this for obvious reasons, but my frusteration drove me to desparation and I tried it. To my surprise the GPS works good as ever and typically locks onto my location in less than 10 seconds. Obviously if you can get the software fix to work for you, this is better, but this was the only thing that worked for me. Hopefully this will help someone else.

What should the agps settings in gps.conf be set to?
I already set ATT=0 and used Faster Fix, but still locking/fixing is very slow, sometimes taking hours.
Could this have anything to do with my location? I am in China now, have unlocked the phone so using on a local carrier. Last time I was in the US (using it with ATT) it worked great.
Solved - SGH-I777 GPS fix
The sirfgps.conf ATT_NETWORK_OPERATOR=0 did nothing for me on my AT&T SGH-I777.
I got that GPS fix app and gps worked but its full of spam adverts that show on your notification bar. They appear with a star infront of the spam advert.
I fixed it the old fashion way. By remembering how I fixed my AT&T Galaxy I gps issue.
in /etc/sirfgps.conf leave att_network_operator=1
change, SSL_ENABLED=1
save and exit
in /etc/gps.conf change the following:
SUPL_HOST=www.spirent-ics.com
SUPL_PORT=7275
save and exit.
now I get 7 second gps lock in Miami Fl.

WiFi won't hand off to 3G - App issue or best Wi-Fi performance issue?

I have been having an issue with WiFi where it won't disconnect when leaving a hotspot. The device shows that it is still connected even though I'm miles from the router and won't pick up 3G. I performed a hard reset and on a fresh load everything appeared to be fine. When I walked out of WiFi range 3G picked up immediately. This morning, the issue is back.
Based upon doing a factory reset and it working, I believe it must be an app issue. Does anyone know of any apps that would cause a wifi lock or otherwise prevent the hand-off? I have over 150 apps installed and would prefer not to go one by one if someone can point me to any known issues.

I followed the guide at the following link and it worked perfectly for me. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1770501
Thinking through this further I did restore the wifi ssids from a titanium backup. TB restores data only - could there be an issue with that? I'm just really puzzled here.
I just did more testing. If I turn "Best Wi-Fi Performance" off I can get the device to switch to 3g when I'm out of range. I'd like to retain this setting but it obviously doesn't handoff correctly. Is there a timeout setting somewhere?

I don't know what causes this issue either, but I've had this happen after a fresh flash of this ROM too. I just let it sit in Maps trying to get a lock for a few minutes, with the above checked, and it eventually works.

The stock lollipop Rom has an issue with syncing hangouts and gmail. In order to force sync,IPv6 is manually disabled every 1 minute. When that happens, your data connection resets, and you see your phone go up through the speed technologies.

This is probably what you seek, but a word of warning; I haven't tried any of this myself. I don't know whether this will work or break your phone. If I were trying to do this, I would probably just comment out that second line (put a '#' in front), but if you start getting sync problems, this will probably be why.

Theoretically you won't still have this problem if you go back to KK. I haven't gone back to KK since I took the plunge into LP, so don't quote me on that. In fact, if you just install the stock LP ROM, you won't have this problem any more as well.
OR, you could install Jasmine 5.0, and then upgrade it to something like 5.0.7 or 5.0.8, which ever one was before the IPv6 fix started getting baked into the Rom. That's probably what I would do, but I haven't tried SkyDragon yet, so I don't know what I'm missing.

LG G2 CyanogenMod 12, 11-May-15 Nightly build feedback (cm-12-20150511-NIGHTLY-d802)

Hi All, just wanted to start this thread to add my feedback for CM12 11th May 2015 build.
I flashed the ROM using TWRP after a complete wipe. Before this ROM, I was on CyanogenMod 11, 20141115-SNAPSHOT-M12-d802
Download Google Apps from here. Version CM 12 (20141212)
So far, I have an amazing experience with this ROM
Everything works as it should (Wi-Fi, calls, messaging, camera etc etc.).
Battery life seems to have improved. There was an issue in the previous ROM. Google Play Services use to keep a wakelock for one of its processes. This was resulting in immense battery drain.
This ROM seems to be lighter than CM11
The interface is smooth as butter, no lags nothing.
CM11 also use to give me random call drops (loads of them), CM12, no issues.
Hope this helps : )

All good. It's my daily driver. Awesome experience so far.
Found one issue.. Not sure if its ROM specific. I use open WiFi when in travelling to work via tube. I always use to be able to connect to the WiFi and sign in to the network. Now I can connect but can't sign in to the network. Cm12s 'sign in to network' is very different than the one on CM11. In CM11, I will need to click on 'Sign in to network' notification and it will take me to the default browser for signing in. In CM12, it doesn't take me to the browser, rather I get a dedicated 'sign in to network' window (see attachment) and it never signs in.
This not a big issue but I thought I will point it out : )
