[Q] Best kernel for Note 3? - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note 3

Just looking for something with great battery life and good performance. I'm running CyanogenMod 11. I've heard that the under-clocking when sleeping is useful but I need some more info on the stability of that to be sure. Any tips on kernels would be nice! New to the modding scene so the kernel is the hardest part for me to choose.

Well, as with everything I have done so far, it was not successful. It boots up into a black screen.

I may have flashed TW the first time. I tried the aosp one and it worked. Its weird, when I flash a non-sprint version of things it works better than when I flash spr. Cyanogenmod didnt install until I used the plain ROM. Can you explain that?

What real difference is there to you? Technically no you cant yet return to actual stock, but for all purposes i can think of deleting the root from the rooted images is the same thing, what does it actually matter to you?

Told ya
Not sure what you mean about lay off... I honestly want to know what difference it made to you... Why not having an "official" stock would make you not want a ROM or a rooted image, and yes i know they are usually available i come from moto myself and have sbf'd back to actual stock many many times

Which is a very real issue in one of the development threads.

[Mod] Working AutoCorrect and Quicker Long-Press Samsung Keyboard (4.1.1)

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2093588
Someone asked for this in QA forum and I ported the changes for them.
It is flashable, but like anything its at your own risk. I have only tested it on Verizon roms.
Edit:
If this doesn't work for odexed folks, let me know.
I've also added a stock zip to return to unmodified state.
There is an apk for 4.1.2 users (ATT, International, CleanRom) as well, but it isn't flashable and I don't have the lib needed to make it flashable. So copy it over and fix permissions. Do NOT throw it into the flashable zip unless you have the right lib as well.
First
Thanks adrynalyne. Giving it a flash now. This will solve all of my keyboard needs, no more AOSP keyboard!

Nice to see you doing stuff for this phone bro. I Miss BAMF work from my thunderbolt. Hopefully the community doesn't ruin it this time.
Do you mind if I include this mod in my themes?

No, I don't mind at all (not really my mod, I just ported it). I am going to work on a 4.1.2 version for cleanrom and international roms if I get a chance.
I used alot of your tutorials for modding my bolt back in the day....the one thing i am REALLY missing on this phone, you had a way to add the radio settings (4g on, off 3g only etc...) into the main settings. Can u make a mod like that for this phone??
I hate that there isnt that option....or is there and im just a dumbass??
none of the 3rd party apps for that work on verizon?!?
Will this work on rooted stock if I push the files manually and rename the IME odex file?

Yeah...HTC has a nice setup for that. Samsung, not so much. Although, you can use my HiddenMenu app and try to set it through there. Let me dig it up....

I don't see how. Its fairly straightforward.
Here is a 4.1.2 version (International, ATT, cleanrom, etc).
It may implode.
Try it though and logcat it if it blows up. No logcat means its unlikely I can or will fix it...I am just too stubborn and old to flash every rom myself.
The auto correct works in on beans build 6. Awesome I will definitely be using the Samsung keyboard!

[Q] Snapchat not working on rooted phone

I just rooted my phone to both Cyanogen ROM and snap chat didn't work well with the video, where it would not let me have as much time as usual to make videos, so I went to liquid smooth, which also is having the same problem.

Use keepchat with it and never lose a snap or notify the other person you saved it. Then turn around and ruin their life with the evidence you have.

Verizon Release New Firmware Yet?

Hey guys,
Just wondering, has VZW released any new firmware yet? Or is it still running on the 1.19? Thanks!

Thanks for the reply! I ask because I am on a ROM running 1.90.401.5 but my phone itself is still 1.19. The ROM runs incredibly fast but I get horrible battery life. Wondering if it's because of firmware mismatch? The ROM notes say you can run it on the VZW 10 though.

I'm running the older 2.0.1 build with the stock kernel and i get pretty good battery life for my use. I had issues with the custom kernel not reading the SDcard correctly hence the stock kernel. Was thinking about updating to the current build 2.4.1, which i assume you're on. Are you running the stock or custom kernel by chance? Might be the issue.
Either way hopefully we'll get a new firmware announcement on Thur. We are so far behind everyone else atm

Yes, Build # 1.82.605.6

We should probably wait until a dev here on XDA takes the update and modifies it so we don't lose root or anything like that, correct?

No. If you want the update now, ruu back to stock, take the OTA, then reroot. Soff is what matters not root.
