So Who Got a Kickstarter Nov Standard USA Edition and is Still Waiting? - Ornate TrueSmart

Omate keeps saying that they shipped all the Kickstarter USA editions already. But I have not gotten my Kickstarter Standard Nov watch yet, and they don't respond to emails nor give tracking numbers anymore, so I have no idea if it was shipped and got lost or if it's not yet shipped, nor do I have any way of finding this out.
Does anyone else stlll NOT have their Kickstarter Standard (Nov) USA edition watch yet? Does anyone know how the heck to actually have Omate respond to watch shipment inquiries?
Tony

They have announced that they will not respond to any shipping-related inquiries.
My 1/8/1900 Nov Dev edition ordered on the very last day of the kickstarter campaign arrived in early February. I may have been the first in the USA to get mine and the last to support thru KS. Odd. I had to sign for it, I got an email with a tracking number that worked, and the order was filled correctly !
Yours may have been overlooked and never shipped. If it was an early KS Dev edition with a numbered backplate, it is likely still on its way - a lot of people in the USA are just receiving those now and many are not getting tracking number emails due to, um, logistics issues...

UGH! Then how will I ever get this watch? It's crazy really. It's like they stole my money for no product.

Well, they were getting tons of emails on all their exposed addresses mainly from folks upset about the shipping delays, over and over. So, instead of silently ignoring most of these, Omate just announced up front that they couldn't answer them all, at least at this point, and that they were not going to try. I look at that as more realistic and more near honest, though not encouraging.
I hope yours is delivered soon. It isn't much like what I backed, really, but it is a lot of fun and amazes people when I show it to them.

I hear you, but it's one thing to email about shipping delays. It's another when they say they shipped all Nov standard edition USA watches and I didn't get mine, so it obviously either got lost or they mistaken did NOT ship. In either case, I'll NEVER get it and have no way to communicate to them and they have my money with no way of getting it back (or the watch). I'm sorry, but this situation is ridiculous!! I could wait longer if I knew I was actually ever going to get it.
So back to the original question - is there anyone else who didn't get it yet from the Kickstarter Nov standard USA edition?

My TS was in transit for almost three weeks. You also need to keep in mind that the USPS is garbage and has been for some time now. They have let go almost 100,000 people over the past year or two, are billions of dollars in debt/defaults, closed multiple sorting centers and smaller post offices and are using sub-contractors in a number of places as well. Not to mention the increased reports of bogus "attempted delivery" attempts, not getting signatures and simply leaving packages where ever they feel like when they do deliver. So Omate may be to blame for some stuff but they are not the only ones.

Irrespective of the quality of the USPS, it's RIDICULOUS that Omate does not send out even any notification of when it was shipped just so I know that it was shipped. Right now, I have NO IDEA if my $200+ watch & accessories were lost in the mail somewhere or someone stole it off my front porch or if they lost my order with no intention of ever sending it. OMATE NEEDS TO GIVE ME THIS INFORMATION - no one else can. Sorry - but until they do it is THEIR fault entirely. I have no way of knowing. And since I cannot find a single Nov USA standard addition backer who has NOT received it yet, I have to think this has gotten either physically lost in transit or they lost my order info.
I have NO IDEA how to find this out. I'm not sure why people here are defending Omate for this ridiculous and completely unacceptable lack of communication. I can wait if it's still coming - I just need to know what happened to mine if everyone else got theirs.

Have you tried emailing them a civil request for tracking info carefully explaining your situation? Maybe even have the subject read "Order possibility lost during shipping, need info". And just some friendly advice, being a jerk will get you no where with them and probably get your email ignored.
BTW. Check your attitude buddy. If you think I'm an Omate defender then you have clearly been living in a cave the past 8 months.

He's likely referring to me, Lokifish. I told him about Omate's recent announcement that they were overwhelmed with emails from upset backers and would go officially into Ignore Them mode.
I was glad Omate at least admitted this publicly instead of continuing to conceal it, but it sure freezes out people like Tones2 who have a real and serious need to get in touch with Omate over delivery issues.
Now we are finding that the last batch of numbered Dev editions had at least a few shipped with the cheaper lower ram and storage early EU versions. I bet these are ones that were left over after Omate tried to sell them into various distributors for resell.
If they distribute the next update with the security still totally fckd, that would be approaching a total shut out game.

Well, this is just recently acquired attitude. I was not one of those people blasting Omate for not meeting their initial delivery dates and was (and still am) perfectly willing to wait over 6 months for this watch. I totally understand the delays, personnel issues of a small start up, and initial buginess of the product. However, after they publically announce that they have shipped all of the USA watches, and then publically announce that they are not going to send out any shipping info nor respond to any emails whatsoever, and after I sent them 3 or 4 very polite emails inquiring what happen to MY watch if they shipped all USA kickstarter models (with a subject similar to what you suggested) all with zero response from them, then yes I start to get REALLY PISSED OFF. I think this is justified.
Do I have any recourse with reporting this situation to Kickstarter? At this point, I don't know where to turn. I've been trying to avoid using their facebook site for this inquiry, but maybe public shame will wake them up, although that doesn't seen to have worked to date..

For what it's worth, though it's not a US shipment, it's not far off... I'm (still) waiting on any sign whatsoever that my 1/8 1900 standard edition is making its way to me up here in Montreal. No shipping notification, and if there's no attempted delivery notification when I get home from work today, I'm sending a polite email which, when all is said and done, will come down to "Could you provide me with some proof that the watch is, indeed, on its way to me?". Because good faith is one thing, but being completely forgotten is another.

As much to my surprise as anyone's, Magan got back to me and (despite apparently not entirely understanding my question, as I was told it was "too late to change my delivery address"), I got given a tracking number! Small victory, at least.
Interestingly, it shows my watch as having shipped on the 28th, not on the 18th as the update would have had you believe, and the last update shows it leaving Switzerland on the 4th. Where it is now, I have no clue, but it's apparently in transit to me (in Canada). Will update when and if I get further news.

I was afraid to back the kickstarter because you can truly end up with nothing for your money. When all the watches started arriving for people I went on ebay and bought one. People are selling the watches at a discount because it doesn't work properly right out of the box. I got my watch early last week and only paid a few days before I got it

I am also in Canada. From the time my ts left China to the time it arrived at my door I could not track it. Tracking always said left China. Then one day it just arrived at my door.

Going to the post office after work to attempt to pick it up.

So is there a dalay or not?

ok quick question? Is there a delay or not? Will prime launch at 19th of December ot not?
It depends on who you ask. So... no one really knows.
The Verge (I think it was them) got a response from Asus that said shipments will be going out the week of the 19th.
well sir, if you read any of the forum posts,
NOBODY KNOWS
its ALL speculative
You must not have noticed the 30+ threads trying to glean every word spoken or written by anyone even closely associated with Asus or any one of their delivery partners, tech blogs, forums or the palm reader on the corner to ascertain the actual day, time and second the Prime will begin shipping.
If we knew for certain the day I am sure there would be several posts clamoring to be the first to announce it.

Most of today's comments from online resellers are that they don't know when they're receiving their shipments and some saying delivery will most likely be after X-Mas. Check the Adorama, B&H, and Fry's threads for detail.
Best Buy's saying the 19th is on and people who pre-ordered there are trying to guess the hidden meaning of having their credit cards re-authorized (apparently they periodically re-authorize on pre-orders).
Amazon's canceled all 32GB and calls today indicate the 64GB won't ship before X-Mas.
GameStop has demo units and people have said some stores have inventory but aren't allowed to sell it yet.
Asus Canada's said shipments are delayed indefinitely while a Wi-Fi range problem is resolved.
And there you have it...

Let's look at it this way. No one besides asus know that question. So that eliminates almost everything posted on the internet by anyone besides asus.
Now let's assume that only asus can tell us the answer. Asus USA says it will be released on the 19th. Now you have two choices, believe that or don't. So you got 50/50 still. According to asus usa it's not delayed.
Bottom line seems to be this, in the interest of maybe forestalling other such threads (ha!): ASUS is shipping SOME stock to SOME retailers on or before the 19th. So, they'll live up to their public statements. However, they're shipping far fewer units to far fewer retailers than expected. So, only a select few with the right pre-orders at the right retailers (Best Buy and Gamestop, most likely) will actually get Primes before the end of the year.
Pretty much anyone who wants one should be able to get one by, say, February.
I think that's probably as solid a bit of speculating as anyone is able to conduct at this point.
Engadget is pretty reliable, they got something from Asus saying that it will ship on the 18th. Pretty sure it's shipping.

All of this.
Asus may have screwed themselves by not getting more inventory out prior to CES. People buying tablets for X-Mas will have made a different choice and people who haven't gotten one by January may wait based on how soon what's announced at CES is expected to be available. Once the "I have to have it first" wave passes there's no rush for existing first-gen tablet owners.

This appears to be their latest. It changed from the "19th" to the "week of the 19th" which may or may not mean anything.
Update: We heard back from ASUS US and were told the Prime is still scheduled for release the week of 12 / 19.

I do agree that there is nothing much other than speculation, but reading that all 32 GB were cancelled scared me a little (That's my only pre-order) Even thought, I have already resigned to receive it after Christmas...

Boy, is there any better forum post to insight such a riot.
I personally think that Asus planned a Dec 9th release, but this was moved to the 19th for them to fix the minor wifi issue that was in the preview units. So the delay was already incurred. The problem would then be inventory ramp up which was slower due to fixing the issue. Since most of the rumors are coming from non-us sources or smaller chains, one can assume that this is really a supply issue and not an actual hardware delay.
I am willing to bet that if you haven't heard from the retailer you pre-ordered from about a delay, then you will probably get one shipped the week of the 19th. However, its all a guessing game which obviously has people sensitive.

If that's all it was, then Asus are idiots for not just coming out and saying so. When there's a problem, people are much more forgiving if you're frank and open with your communication. Asus Canada at least had the balls to tell their resellers that there was a problem. Asus U.S.' terse one sentence responses to inquiries by the media mean either: A) something's going on or went on that they haven't wrapped their hands around, or B) what you said is true and their PR people should be fired. And any one that says this is all intentional to build up buzz and intrigue doesn't know PR.
Bottom line is if the early units people receive work flawlessly then all of this will be forgotten in a couple of weeks and Asus will come out unscathed. God help Asus if after all the gymnastics people went though to get one there's common issues or problems. Especially Wi-Fi related issues because that's what Asus Canada reported as the reason for the delay and Asus U.S. has denied via their silence. If that happens their obvious rush to get it to market and all the secrecy about the delay will come back and bite them in the ass.

Absolutely No it Won't! Best Buy TF201 backordered notice (12/19/2011)

it means no Christmas gift for me. Now seriously I just got a "friendly" email from Best buy explaining me my order has been backordered, I'm cancelling right now(a $650 order with dock), 2-3 more weeks waiting is totally unacceptable, I pre-ordered mine on November 23th, by the time tf201 is out, it will be only 2 weeks away from ipad 3 release, and there won't be any guarantees asus will deliver on time, it may be another delay. I will better wait for apple 3(already have an ipad 2 and tf101), so long asus.
Thanks, the more pre-orders that cancelled, the sooner I get mine!

iPad 3 isn't coming out in late January.
i got the same email
I am in the same boat. This was the sole gift for my 7 year old Autistic son.
I can understand the supply issues with a preorder product. However, I was in contact with Best Buy every day and, although each rep had a different story, all we ensuring me that I would get this by Christmas and that there were no problems with the order getting filled. Then, of course, they backorder the thing on the VERY LAST FULL SHOPPING DAY OF THE YEAR. Now most places are bare, will not be getting more shipments and a very unlikelihood of being able to order anything online for the holiday. To butter it up, Besy Buy reps have not made any offer to make good on this screw up. At least Gamestop and Amazon gave out credits.
I am going to be calling to make a huge stink today. I am not cancelling until I have the product from somewhere else, but I am going to spread the same holiday cheer they have with me.
By the way, feel free to contact the corporate offices and the CEO to send your holiday wishes as well:

It's more that they should've informed their customers that Asus is being stupid. Of course they said the 18th was just an ETA, but I was told countless times that there is no reason to believe it won't be shipping on that date. I had one guy tell me it had shipped to UPS and should get a shipping confirmation soon. All of that is unacceptable.
Remember the last 2 ipads re announced in Feb and did not ship until April. I would guess this one will be no different. Good luck getting one in February.

Best Buy is responsible for fulling orders. If they did not have stock then they should not have been taking pre-orders. Other vendors did this, so Best Buy should be able to do it too. There's other things like maybe letting people know sooner their order would not be fulfilled.
I expect a retailer to be able to count.

Asus' CEO publically said "November" for release. Then Asus said "12/9." Then Asus said "12/19." Then Asus said "the week of 12/19." They'll make their last commitment but by sending far fewer units to far fewer resllers then they originally planned. The Galaxy Nexus was a highly anticipated device for VZW. They didn't officially launch it until their was enough inventory in the pipeline (stores, VZW.com, resellers) so that people looking for it didn't have to pull their hair out. Something happened that screwed up Asus' ability to honor their original commitments to resellers. Since they're a public company, they will have forecast "x" amount of Prime sales in 2011. We'll see when they file their Q4 earnings report how badly they missed their earlier projections. Bottom line is they rushed the product to be first to market with Teg3, encountered issues and had no slack in their timeline to deal with them, and are claiming victory by eeking out a small quantity of product this year.
and Best Buy probably had way to many people order.

Totally not true. BB, like Amazon, was told by Asus how much initial inventory they'd be receiving and what the flow would be subsequently. They sold pre-orders based on those commitments. Asus botched the commitment causing both BB and Amazon to have to cancel or back-order customer orders. Amazon deserves props for getting the message out early and at least giving their customers an option to find a "plan B."

This happened last time. I'm really not sure what the exact cause of it is but it seems like their production/supply chain/delivery process is unreliable.
You would think they would have learned something the first time...
Honestly, a delay wouldn't be too bad. But, they have to be public about it -- not leave customers in the dark. This whole time they're trying to market this thing by giving it away on facebook but people who actually want to buy the thing, can't. Where is Asus's official message about these botched commitments? Asus isn't as big as some companies but it isn't a small company either; they should have said something by now. You limit the damage by being upfront with your customers.
As an update, I called and gave the rep a hard time expressing my opinion that Best Buy needed to make some attempt to make good. Finally after asking for free next day shipping and some sort of compensation for not getting anything for christmas, I was told they could not credit the order, but got an "issue number" to call back after it ships to get reimbursed for the shipping cost. Also they are sending me a $25 gift card.
It sucks to have to ask for this. I told them that upgrading the shipping was in their best interest because if I find it somewhere else they lose a sale. Of course, after they changed the order my status went from backordered to order in process, but I am sure this will revert back and was only because the order was changed.

You're spot on. I've seen Asus' CEO speak and he's a bit of a character. His ego's also as big as a house. I'm guessing instead of letting the product drive the timeline he mandated the reverse. Product management's reported to me and this consequence is what happens when dates become more important then quality - in either the product or roll-out. Nine women can't have a baby in a month.

I think you're right. I think it's partly cause their CEO's a cowboy. I think the other part is that Asus made a strategic decision to be big in tablets (unlike, say, Acer, whose support is half-hearted). Asus wanted to be technology leader, in hardware, and OS, but had to hit the window before iPad 3 was released. So the CEO pushed, and drove the organization to the point where, as you say, dates drove the product, rather than conversely.
I for one, appreciate the strategic decision, and that emphasis is why I decided to return my Acer A500, and just wait for the Asus TF. I understand bleeding edge, vs leading edge, and pre-ordered one from BB on 12/4. So I got the 2 week wait email also. I was hoping for "on-time" delivery, but would have been surprised had it arrived before Christmas. So now it's a matter of managing my "wants" more than cursing BB.
That doesn't stop me from disliking BB's pre-order and order management practices. I doubt I'll online order from them again.

I've had a few issues with them on some stuff but I had no idea how disjointed their order and dispatch systems were until the Prime incident(s). You'd think that after the death of CompUSA and Circuit City they'd have made some investments in their infrastructure. They managed this process far worse than some much smaller resellers.

This is what being patient gets you.

Think you are tired of waitng for your prime?? listen to this.
So I ordered my prime on Dec 20, 2011 from Amazon and paid in full with Amazon gift cards.
I patiently waited and was told that my prime would be arriving today. Woohoo!!
So I check my tracking today and it says that it is on the truck and in transit to my house.
At 7:00 pm tonight I began to get concerned and call the shipping company (Ensenda). They inform me that they never recieved it from Amazon. (wait what?? the tracking says its on the f'n truck!!)
They transfer me to Amazon support who apologized and told me that they would have a replacement ship out and arrive on monday.
I was put on hold and when support returned they told me that I would not get a replacement as they had none in stock. Also they said they had no idea when they would be receiving any more. They best they could do was refund me.
They would not even place a new order for me, and now I am assed out.
Now I have no prime, not even a pending order, nothing.
I have to wait for them to come in stock before I can even re-place my order.
I got ****ed completey after patiently waiting for almost a month.

With the problems the Prime has thank yourself lucky you didn't receive one with screen bleed, WiFi issues etc etc as the vast majority have these problems.

I think mine's fine even with the slightly weak WIFI. No screen bleeding that I can tell.
I feel for you. I ordered from Amazon on 12/19 and used $300 gift cards. I am trying to be patient but it's hard to not jump on one of these other sellers like newegg, gamestop, or hhgregg. But alas, I had the amazon gift cards and I trust their returns department.
Seriously, good luck finding one. Sign up for alerts at nowinstock.net and you'll probably get it faster than with Amazon.

Wow. I wouldnt hold out much hope man. I spoke with a "support team leader". He checked to see when they would be getting more in and he said they would not be receiving any in the near future.
This whole situation is really screwed up. How can other companies be getting stock yet one of the worlds largest retailers had none, and has no clue when they will get a decent amount.

True. I just returned mine to Amazon - weak WiFi, NO GPS signal whatsoever, minor screen bleed (although screen bleed is a thing a lot of people don't notice), and that pesky problem where the right side of the bezel was slightly loose - like it wasn't glued down all the way (as it is on my friend's, who got one from the "new" batch just this week).
I'll also throw this out there:
- HHGregg dropped the price to $399 - and then removed it completely from their site when they sold out (it was sold in the actual stores for the same price - so no pricing error there) - it still comes up on the site when you search for it - but click the link, and the product page has been completely removed
- Amazon removed it completely from their site a couple of weeks ago (I wasn't even given the option to order a replacement or an exchange with my return - as is normal Amazon protocol - I was only given the option to get a refund)
- Newegg took it completely off of their website (besides the open box units they unloaded for $399 this morning - most likely, returns)
- A couple of websites have notes that the thing has been discontinued and they won't be expecting more stock in
- Best Buy has removed the sku from their in-store system - managers don't believe they'll be getting any more in
Like people said - grain of salt - but there are 5 of them right there...
EDIT - they may not be getting discontinued by the manufacturer, but my guess is (and it's just a guess) - a lot of retailers were getting heaps of these things back in returns - if it were me, I wouldn't want to deal with the headache of selling them...

Just a bit of advice. I'm a big Amazon shopper, and one thing I've learned is that you have to go out of your way to get that great customer service. Just because one Amazon rep tells you something don't just blindly accept it. Go through all the proper channels (Phone, Chat, E-mail, Supervisor) I can almost guarantee you will be satisfied eventually.
PS Personally I've had the best of luck through phone and e-mail. And afterwards you'll get two links asking "Thank you for your recent inquiry. Did I solve your problem?", if you choose "no" it'll ask you to give them another chance. I have had success in the past using this method as well.
You should easily be able to be put back on the front of the waiting list, it's just common sense. Any good supervisor should see that.
Good Luck!

How can you say a "vast majority?" There are just as many people on here with issues as there are people WITHOUT issues. You keep posting your thread, but it is all based on an unnamed, unproven anonymous source. That could be anyone, it could be a real Asus employee, it could be Seth Rogan above, or your imagination.
I keep hearing the argument of how there are not that many primes with issues because XDA and other forums are just a small percentage of actual owners and most owners probably wouldn't be on here posting their problems. Or how people wouldn't come on here to post that they have a great prime, but only if they have problems.
Thus, those with issues are probably magnified on these forums compared to the overall numbers. However, that can work both ways. XDA could also be a very small sample of those who think they DO NOT have problems. You really cannot have it both ways.
I am still seeing FAR MORE people with issues than people who do not have issues. Even in the Positive & Perfect Prime threads.
Your thread isn't really based on any facts or anything to prove that there are not really as many issues as everyone thinks. It could easily just be YOUR opinions since your source is an anonymous person. I could just as easily say "I know someone at the top, inside Asus, and this is straight from the horses mouth. They are having a lot of issues with the Prime and have had daily meetings to decide what to do. They are considering simply replacing it with the new model since the T201 has so many issues. They are starting to slow down distribution to buy more time to consider the next step to still maximize sales and profits, stay tuned!"
How is that any different than YOUR anonymous source>? I just made that all up, but it sounds just as factual as your unnamed and anonymous source. I have read your thread, I honestly have. After reading it, it doesn't change my mind. It doesn't make me feel more comfortable or confident in the Prime OR Asus. It just makes me question the source, that is about it.

Who Pledged a Developer Edition & is still waiting?

I have to say that I am extremely disappointed in my Omate experience. I will not go through the entire list of grievances but The straw that broke our relationship permanently was the fact that I donated to the KS very early on, and elected to get one of devices with the inscribed serial #. I expected that as one of the early pledges I would get my Omate early but Omate has seen fit to inverse the shipping of pledges. People who pledged for December delivery received theirs long before others, and so on and so on.
How many people are in the same boat as me? Waiting on their Omate and an early pledger?
I'm still waiting for my US October 2013 Developer Edition. They won't ship it or give me real status updates. And good luck to anyone asking for refunds, they won't really do it from what I've read in comments.

The serial number OCTOBER Developer Editions have not shipped yet. According to Omate this is due to the factory not having the back ready in time.
It has to be understood that ONLY October Developer Editions that you backed as either a 512/4 or 1/4 will get a serial number. If you backed the Oct Dev Ed. and you, not Omate, then upgraded to a 1/8, you will not get a serialized back. If you ordered additional units, only the original unit will have a serial number.
This information is current as of Feb 10 2014 per Omate via an official public update
With regards to refunds. A number of folks have received their refunds and have said as much. This info was located on the Official forum prior to it going down so I cannot provide reference links as per usual.

Should all legitimate emails be responded to? Yes. That is a failing on their part. They however receive hundreds of emails a day and have a fairly small staff. Every single one of those emails needs to be read with folks admitting to sending as many as multiple emails a day for days on end. If there had been less trolling, hate mail and bombardment the number of emails would be far more manageable. Also with such a high number of emails it is not unreasonable to assume that legitimate emails are getting buried in the "I hate you" and "Omate sucks" emails that some have admitted to sending.

The gifts for my pledges included a Dev edition 1/4/1900mHz that they delivered unrooted anyway. My pledge was on the last day or so of the Kickstarter and arrived almost two weeks ago.
Was it supposed to have a numbered back ? I think so, but anyway it didn't. I am glad to have it, of course, regardless. I don't think anyone else who was supposed to get a numbered back has yet, so in this case their mistake was my good fortune.
Regarding your other point, the choice of shipping was Omate's responsibility. If they chose unwisely, the results are solely the fault of Omate.

Regarding your other point, the choice of shipping was Omate's responsibility. If they chose unwisely, the results are solely the fault of Omate.

What was the delivery month for the tier you backed? Only those listed as have an original ship month of October on KS get the serialized back.
So what you are saying is if you ship three packages via a shipping store and they mess up it's your fault?
EDIT;
Technically all x201's are rooted. The just do not have su or SuperUser app installed.

It seems you are the unofficial or official spokesperson for Omate. Maybe you can give me some sort of estimate on when I will get my Omate I pledged for.

I am the xda recognized contributor for all the x201 family of devices. So providing information and helping out the entire community is a big part of that. I have no secret info and post facts as much as possible with reference links. If I express something as an opinion I will use phrases/words like "I think" or "possibly" or "In my opinion".
Regarding your question. I have no information beyond what has been posted publicly regarding shipping. So I don't know when the factory will or has finished the backs or what the assembly status is of the TS.

I was an early backer then changed when they offered the the 1/8 ugrade. I have not complained, moaned, and groaned like so many. I received both of mine last week. patience is a virtue anyone who backs a Kickstarter should have. If you don't then you will miss out anyway. Just think, at least you will get yours before they start shipping pre-orders. Kick back and be happy. The next thing you know they will be on your doorstep. Nobody at Omate is trying to scam you. We no longer live in a McDonalds world. It IS worth the wait. SILENCE IS GOLDEN. LIVE HAPPY. Thanks Lokifish for your hard work.

I can understand that, however 45 days is more than enough time to respond and I can assure you I haven't sent any troll-mails there way. I've emailed them 3 times(politely)twice asking for an eta and once asking for a refund. I also don't understand why they don't offer a refund if they know production is severely delayed and further-more they shouldn't draw funds from customers on pre-order its bad business!
I was really looking forward to getting a taste of the next generation smart-watch but unfortunately all I have is a bad taste and lousy experience, which could have been averted by simple communication. Anyway enough from me, I merely posted here rather than opening a new thread sorry OP.
The point of the October 2013 Developer Edition was for us to develop apps and test them BEFORE everyone else got their hardware.
I paid for the 1GB RAM upgrade on top of my order (again, US October 2013 Developer Edition), but not for an extra 4GB emmc. They upgraded this for me for "free" apparently to 8GB emmc. However, there is absolutely no sign of mine shipping (others who ordered variants way after me are getting their Omate and they got tracking info). They don't mention a shipping date and won't respond to emails from me anymore. The last status I got was "after Chinese New Year" emailed to me in mid-January. Since we're now in mid-February and they won't respond, its mind-numbing!
I just want a REAL status update from them about Developer Editions We are skipped.
- From the 1,500 units 1GB+8GB 1900MHz US version we have been able to assemble before Chinese New Year, about 1,000 units have been shipped thus far, we will ship another 500 units by the end of this week.

There were 1,000 October 2013 Developer Edition ordered on Kickstarter. Then 794 November 2013 Developer Editions ordered on Kickstarter.
Somehow in their "genius," they don't ship those to the backers who ordered first (and chose the October 2013 estimated delivery). Whoever is running them is either incompetent or truly does not give 2 cents about any of their supporters (or both).
I was one of the first to order and support them, even paid extra for the RAM upgrade. Yet I get screwed over.

As stated in post #8 Omate has said that they have yet to receive the numbered backs from the factory. So without even having the proper backs Omate cannot give an ETA at this time. That is why you have not received a email saying it on it's way.
As far as Omate not replying to emails. I have responded to that as well.

I appreciate your effort to calm concerns, but I would rather hear it directly from Omate. They don't seem to acknowledge that we'd even have the smallest right to be frustrated with their lack of communication and their screwing us over. A real campaign would have made this very clear they made a big "oopsie" and allow us to be shipped a Non-Developer model at their earlier convience. Omate is not offering this, and by the time I get my Omate Truesmart October 2013 Developer Edition, it may very well be 2015.

I will agree with you here, If Omate had a person at the helm who was competent they should have stated the problem with the backs and offered to send out non serialized backs. I would have said ok and been on my merry way.

Laurent told me his biggest fear was developers getting angry that they wouldn't get their serial backs.
In a way he was right, because there were some that received units without the correct back that complained about it anyway.
You'll get your units soon. There are a lot of things going on behind the scenes that really would not be helpful information nor would it garner any sympathy.
In a manner of speaking if it comes from myself or Loki it really doesn't get more official short of Omate themselves.
I'm sorry that's not acceptable, and it isn't really acceptable to us either.
But it is better than nothing, which is what we tell ourselves every day we have to answer questions.

Oh, ok ! Glad I didn't pledge my support earlier, or I would still be waiting. I think my delivery month was November, and also it got upgraded, so mine didn't get held up but for a couple of months. Just lucky I guess.

Sure ! After all, backers were told Omate had an remarkable experience in international shipping. Who knows whose fault it was that the wrong three or two pallets shipped ? Not the backers, anyway.

Oh...I guess I don't understand. Your root+ patch runs the pwn executable on the watch. That's an exploit to gain root privileges, isn't it ? If so, but the truesmart is already rooted, why is it needed to run that pwn program ?
I trust that all you are doing in the patch batch file is correct and necessary, I'm really just asking so I understand better. This might be a stupid question and I know you are busy with a ROM update, so its fine if you don't reply. Spend the time with your Princess instead !

I'll put it this way, Rocki had most of that experience and they made up half the Omate team.
Do the rest of the math yourself.

Happy for you bro , i ordered mine last october too but i cancelled it at late december they told me ill get my refund, every month past they will say next month then they send me to contact [email protected] then after a month cecile told me to contact [email protected] and TODAY after a month waiting for my refund [email protected] told me to contact [email protected] so what will happend next. laurent keep putting advertisement on google plus, nearly everyday and answering others question and post but when he see any post of refung he just try to ignore it
He responded to one earlier. You need to post to him directly and not piggyback another post.

Same thing here. Got tired of waiting, so grabbed one off ebay a few months back....cancelled my order and have gotten nothing but the run around ever since.
After no response for nearly two months...I finally got this:
Dear,*
Sorry the next batch of refund will take place after the shipment of the Kickstarter backers.
Omate has taken over its webshop on Jan 31st, we only charge the order a few days before shipment so customers can update or cancel any time in the meantime.
Previously, we were working with ROCKI who collected the preorders until Jan 30th. We are working with them to recover the preorders.
Best regards,
Omate TrueSmart Team
What does shipping have to do with refunds? Has anyone tried "talking" with a upper level Rocki staff member?
Because they're dedicating all their staff to handling kickstarter issues first, and then they will go through preorders.
Right now Rocki has all the preorder money and will not release it until preorder units are shipped/ready for refund.

Omate is a fraud???
I'm in your same situation, after six months of waiting for my TS I decided to give up and I asked a refund. They ignore me at all, months without an answer and after all they say to me to wait "end of all shippings", is a big lie, why can't we do something to have our money back now? I'm tired of lies and nonsense words we have to do something.

Not sure whether this thread is still active--but, in the hope that it is--does anyone have the latest news on the Shipping details??
What is Omate's position on shipping the KickStarter pledges for 1GB/8Gb 2100 version??
Any ideas?

I've got mine. Was posted on the 12th April received it on the 25th. I'm a UK backer. Received in great condition packed very well. Only gripe was I was expecting an additional cradle as I pledged for an extra one but didn't get it.

Received mine last week (EU 2100 1/8GB first Batch), so i am thinking if Omate keep their promise to ship the second EU 2100 batch then you will soon received it. (It took about 2 weeks or more once received tracking).
Delivery in UK by Royal mail. Swiss Post database tracking update seems a bit late, so use THIS site to track your item (better than Swiss Post site tracking).

One question--did you receive any communication prior to your watch arriving at your door??
I have heard zero--since filling out the delivery details.
Possibly my mistake was that, although a UK resident--I spend more time out of the country and I used my Asian address--this could be one reason for a delay in the dispatch.
Hence, I was interested in whether Omate contacted you before sending the Truesmart.

Where, and when, did you receive a Tracking Number??
In fact--does anyone have a communication email address for Omate [ I know they probably won't answer--but I would like to check that my delivery hasn't hit a glitch--possibly my stupid decision to use my Asian Address--in which case I would happily give them a UK alternative]
Used "[email protected]", they emailed me tracking. Hope this help
@haybill
I didn't receive any information. I had asked in the comments section 3 times on the kickstarter before getting my tracking number.
3 out of 10 and getting less.
Hi,
Received mine today.
I have no idea what I have got, How to turn it on even, at the moment it's a cool looking piece of inert metal and plastic.
Feel very ripped off as I pledged for the developer edition for Europe months ago and nowhere does it acknowledge this or even how to turn it on etc.
Sucks big time.
Wanted this as I am partially sighted seems I've now got to ask family to search the web for docs and how-tos etc.
Really sucks.
Hope Laurent enjoys the profit... Still not sure if it is a scam will see how far I manage to get with it...

I've just sent an email to [email protected]
Let's see if I hear anything.
Thanks for the answers.

I'd go to the Kickstarter page and ask there in the comments section you're more likely to get a response sooner as I did.

One more question--
having gone to the Kickstarter comments section, as mentioned, I see that folks are referring to a mailing list--anyone let me in on the secret as to where we might find such a list???

Bingo--got a reply from one of the other backers with details of the mailing lists--and, guess what, I'm on 24 April--Gawd knows how long it will take to arrive, though. Hopefully Customs here will go easy--but I am not holding my breath.

Count two weeks from the 24th so most likely 10th May around that time.
