Installing rom - Lenovo K910 - Lenovo Vibe Z Questions & Answers

Hi,
I have just got my new K910.
I got it already rooted.
I am trying to install new rom. Clean rom.
Now I have k910_SS_s_2_040_0039_131101
I want to install:
K910_SS_S_2_040_0109_131226.qsb
However, when doing SD UPGRADE I get an error:
DEV: internal sdcard
ERROR: File size error!
Reset didn't help.
Any ideas?
Moshik.

[Q] [q] Clockwork mod fails to install CM7

I set up the Clockworkmod derivitive for Nook Tablet and tried to flash my rom and right away it returns an error message of "installation aborted" when trying to install from my microSD card. I am trying to figure out what to do as I looked at similar threads and it didn't seem to be very helpful in solving the issue. Any help would be much appreciated thanks!
It goes through the specific messages of :
Installing:xxxxxx
Finding Update Package......
Opening Update Package......
Installing Update.....
Installation Aborted.
More data please. What model of the Nook Tablet do you have ? ( 8/16 ) And what were you trying to load ? The devil is is the details...
.
I got that message once too.
I have the 16GB Nook Tablet model, rooted it months ago. I decided to install the internal version of CM7 since i've been using it off of the microSD for months. I was trying to install CM7 to the internal memory and it failed to install it.

What is the version of CWM Recovery and where did you get the CM7. Hmm, @CelticWebSolutions says he has not posted his newer, improved, better one just yet...
I got the CM7 version from http://raywaldo.com/2012/06/no-root-install-cm7-on-nook/ when the original link on the CM7 thread failed, I seached around the same thread and found a version on that link. The CM7 Recovery version is the version from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1650927

Hmm, what does Ray Waldo say ? Did you get a good download ? Is the MD5 checksum good ? I am running @Succulent's version currently, but if @CelticWebSolution's new one is good/better, I'll be switching...
Okay, I had to try another CM7 image and that worked *flawlessly*. Now I have a new problem however, I flashed Google Apps and upon the start of it, I get an error message stating "The Application Google Services Framework has stopped unexpectedly. Please Try Again." Whenever I start it up now, I'm stuck at the screen "Welcome to Nook Tablet, Touch the Android to begin" and it appears to register my taps to the android *but* it won't respond beyond making the android logo glow. I am unable to advance within the menu. Is there any fix for this? I verified the MD5 sums on both and CM7 was working perfectly until I installed GApps.
Update: Problem Solved, Here is how I solved it. I deleted my data from CWM (if you have the default B&N 1.4.0 firmware on your microSD it will automatically draw you into CWM) so then I re-installed both CM7 and GApps at the same time and the problem was resolved. Hopefully it helps someone later down the line! Remember, for the prior issue, make *sure* you're using the internal version of the ROM and *not* the SD card version. Unlike with my experience with creating my LiveUSBs for Linux, you can't use one for the other task. Hopefully this helps!

Custom ROM dont see SIM cards

Hey guys, sorry for my english, I've been just make a custom rom of original firmware for my Amoi A860W (MT6589) using dsixda's kitchen, and everything was good, except one thing - phone doesn't see any sim cards. When I tapping on "SIM Toolkit" it says that "App isnt installed". In Settings menu "Manage SIM cards" is not active.

of course I sure about it
this stock rom is installing by using FlashTool program
i've trying to make this firmware in zip, which I can flash from CMW
but now I have other problem - when I trying to install zip it's not erasing /system folder!
updater-script is correct, it flashing only if I choose "format /system" in CMW
maybe there is a blocking, or something similar of making custom firmwares?

Should work if you just remove your Google Account and then add it back and try again.

No, I wish it was that easy. I have tried Factory reset and removing account.
Sounds like a pain! Do you have more than 1 account on the tablet or use 2 different Google accounts? Seems like many people with this issue had success by using the Play Store site on the PC to tell it to install. Obviously not ideal, but just seems to be a weird thing that affects certain devices / updates. There is a thread here with various ideas and fixes: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2548604
I've got the same issue

This is a known issue. The manufacturer has been made aware of this and they will fix it soon. People have reported that if you restore paid apps with something like titanium backup then it works - so thats the wokaround if need paid apps for now.
Head to this forum - the developers do there magic there not in XDA.

FIXED!!!!!!
I searched a lot for this and finally got this solution.. It worked for me..
All u have to do is unmount sd card before installin and u can see it installs perfectly.....
After install u can mount sd card again

Alcatel 4030d stock rom

Is there any custom rom for Alcatel 4030d available? I am having trouble updating due to having rooted the phone before, (assert failed, chrome not removable without libs error). I tried to move google chrome as a system app but I failed, system memory full.
So I would like just to re-install the entire system from scratch.
Hi,
I'm in your same conditions, :crying:
unfortunately through the official software will not let me update / restore the stock rom (wrong model).
Does anyone have a backup for TWRP or for the SP Flash Tool?
Thanks so much for the support.

Hello to all of you,
I am very new here, i have a question
I have a Alcatel pixi 4 -5 3g. And i just received the message that the update 6.0-01005 is available for download and install.
So i downloaded it and tried to install it, but i get the message after it restarts
""Supported API: 3
Opening update packageā€¦

OTA failed! Please power off the device
to keep it in this state and file a bug
report!""
Can anybody helpt me with this?
remove sdcard is stated in the help file, reboot and wipe cache**, reboot, download again and update, it will take about 50 minutes.
** boot with volume + pushed, for boot menu.
device must be original and not rooted.

Same phone. I've tried this, but it doesn't work. Without the SD card in the device says it doesn't have enough memory to download the update, even though I have over 2GB space left. When I put the card back in and download the file it gives me the same error as bako1980.
It's driving me crazy - any other things I could try?
CD!
Not sure if "bump" posts are allowed here but can anyone help? My phone is always asking for the update and I just can't get it to work.
I have the same problem. Anyone succeed on this?
Hello,
I have the same problem. Anyone succeed on this?
Thank you and best regards.
You have to remove SD card and go to storage and click SD card forget! otherwhise it will say you don't have enough storage as the device is looking for your SD card. It has to convert to looking to internal memory. After doing this the update process will be fine.
Thanks Irbizar,
It worked, just like you said. But I did more. I've factory reset, removed the card and made the update.
It was a pain to do it, but it's done know.
Thank you!
