Voice control for camera - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 5

One feature I used all the time on the S4 and S3 was the voice control to say "cheese" or "shoot" to take a picture. I can't seem to find that setting anywhere on the S5. Is it gone?

It is there, click the cog in the corner of the camera screen and scroll down, should say voice commands or the like.
EDIT: Specifically open the camera app, click the cog in the corner, far bottom left tile which says "Voice Control"

Ah, thanks. .. I am a dummy, I didn't realize I could scroll. I was wondering why there looked to be so few settings there. Ha.

Don't feel bad. Didn't know I could scroll either. Discovered it thanks to this thread!

How to get the original settings without tabs

Forgive me if this was already posted but I was playing around in the task manager and went to default tab and cleared the setting. After you do that go to your notification drop down and select setting and it will ask which settings program you want to use. Choose the one without the folder behind it.

I believe if you go into settings and hit the menu button, you will have the option to switch into list view. Also, there are two "settings" in your app drawer. One is for the tabs, one is for list.

Lol. :silly:
I actually didn't know this could changed at all. Thanks to both of you. I personally prefer the list view.
Well, now that we're doing things the easy way, anyone know how to get the battery usage screen with the graph at the bottom that shows wifi on, awake, screen on, etc? I've only been able to see it when I get the low battery warning, which isn't very often with this phone.

A shorter way to get there is Settings/Power saver/Battery Use.

Thing is, I only get the line graph. Not the bar graph that I'm used to seeing below it. Any who, not a big deal, just so used to having it available. Thanks, anyway.

[Q] Menu button alternative??

Dropped my phone and the bottom right of the screen cracked rendering the menu button useless. Is there any other way I can get the function of the menu button via on screen app or some sort, is there any way to enable the overflow menu button?
You may be able to find the functionality your looking for using LMT. You can find it somewhere on xda..in the general apps section I think.

LMT is awesome. Link to a page toward the end of the thread cause that's where I was.

For some reason I cannot get the ISAS to work in LMT. Anybody who has it working, what's your setup in the settings?

I'd never tried them before...mussed with them for a couple minutes but was unable to get them to work. I only use the pie function.

Anyone get that update?

Last night I got some Samsung push service update. Ever since I ran the update it seems like my s4 has been running quicker. Am I just imagining this?

Got it the other day. It was an update for Samsung apps from what I gathered from the playstore info.
here is the link for info:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sec.spp.push&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwyLDEsImNvbS5zZWMuc3BwLnB1c2giXQ..
So is it possible it made my phone faster or am I imagining it you think?

Not likely.

Do you ever have a slight half second delay when you hit the home button when you're in an app but other times it's like instant?
Sent from my SCH-I545 using xda app-developers app
I also installed this but haven't really noticed any difference.

Imaging it. The update is to an individual apk and has nothing to do with I/O.

Make sure that in the Settings for S Voice you disable the home button activating S Voice. Makes Home button response better.

Placebo. I actually got the notification for that update, realized that I forgot to freeze it, so I froze it. It's just bloatware.
Wish I could figure out why my home button has a slight delay sometimes. Closing all recent apps makes it go away.

Do you have the S-Voice mapped to your home button? If you push it twice then it opens S-Voice you do. Just disable it from the S-Voice options.

I wish Google Voice Search could be used with the home button instead of S voice. Seems to be a much better application.

Xposed App Settings & keyboards

I was wondering if anyone knows of any work around to get the keyboard scaled right. I have everything apps and all dpi set to 370. That seems to be a sweet spot. The only problem I'm having is the keyboard. I'm stock rooted. Here is a screen shot. Currently I'm writing everything outwith my S-pen.
Maybe because I'm using the xda app I can't see the picture, but you did post a picture correct?

I believe he's referring to the partial numbers and stuff you see just below the icon.
Of you are running hyperdrive ROM that is the speed of your broadband. You should be able to turn it off in hyperdrive tweaks or the other hyperdrive specific options

Found out what it was, it was my Data Usage Defender speed of my network connection.
Guess they need to add a bigger box to that feature.
Thanks everyone!
