[Q] Problem with video camera effects on Alcatel OT 6030X - help please? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi there,
I really hope I posted in the right section, as I'm new to this place and, even though I read some of the guidelines around, I'm still not sure. Anyway, I have a problem with my phone, an Alcateo OT 6030X (which is known around here as Orange San Remo - I'm from Romania). I just bought the phone a few days ago from someone, and while everything seemed fine at first, I came across a problem with its video camera.
When I switch to video, I get an icon on the top of the screen that allows me to select some video effect [big moth, big eyes, stretched face], but when I activate one of them, the camera just freezes, and sometimes the whole phone too. I tried a full factory reset the other days and everything worked correctly until last night. I even checked that specific feature yesteday morning and it was working perfectly, but last night it just froze again. I did install some apps I commonly use yesterday, so my suspicion is that one of the apps is to blame. I have attached the details of my phone, as well as all the apps I currently have.
Any help is apprecieted. Thank You!

Latitude pics, Gmail account and A CRAZY STORY!

Hi there!
First things first: I have a T-mob Hero (UK) with MCR 2.9 - Rooted -
Having said that:
I purchased an unlock code to use the phone while back in Italy (I know, I know.... Berlusconi-land...Sorry for that guys!), and it worked like charm...Or...Didi it?
I was able to do anything I wanted and needed, and when prompted to kind of "sync" with my "new" sim, I said no, since everything looked perfectly fine and on top of that I just wanted to put its original sim in for the time being. This is when funny things started to happen: first I got a message from t-mob and the download of the message (1k) failed miserably over and over... Then... I was asked to "apply the settings of the sim card" (kinda made sense... From A to B and back to A), and this time I said yes, linking the two problems. Next my phone started to act funny (like when you "taskill" sense - Twice over), and then...I was back to my original HTC scene. Mmmmm... All my apps were in the list and I was connected to the net but yet.... Where's MY scene? I looked around a bit but it looks like they just vanished. I wouldn't have taken it to a post if it was just that, though. I was asked for my gmail password twice (like when you enter the market with no account linked), it worked (on the second attempt!)...I was in Market, I had my downloads...bla bla bla... Funny but harmless let's say. But then it was time for Latitude to show funny IMPROVEMENTS! I had recently lost the ability to see the pics of my gmail latitude friends. I got it back. NOT entirely... But still...
So, in the end of the day, I am left with my scene to rebuild but (some) pics back in latitude. This leaves me puzzled. Anyone in the known cares to shed some light please?
Ciao

[Q] Camera problem

Hey, new member here.
I recently aquired a HTC Aria, this is my first Android phone and It's great, only issue I found is with the camera, when I try to take pictures, the screen appears with a lot of noise color (pink areas), as per the pictures, is this related to the set up or is it a camera malfunction? The pictures taken have the same effect.
The pictures were taken a month ago- righ now the screen looks completely pink!
I'm using HTC Aria/ Android version 2.3.7/ Cyanogenmod-7.1.0.
I noticed this malfunction after downloading the Camera 360 app, tried to use it and suddenly this issue appeared.
Any support is appreciated.
Regards and thanks.
First I'd just try clearing application data for the "Camera" app to see if that makes any difference. If not, I'm not sure what else to try except doing a 100% clean install to see if the problem is with your current installation or actually a hardware issue. (Make a backup first so you can revert.)

[Q] Camera, playing music, etc

Hello.
I've had my Motorola [Electrify] for about a year now, and a few months after getting it, started having problems with the camera, playing music, and not receiving notification sounds. For the camera, I it would look as though it was starting, and then go back to the home screen with a flash saying "Camera cannot initialize." (or something to that effect.) When I would try to play music, it would stop and say "Sorry, the play does not support this type of audio format." It was MP3. And I would sometimes not receive notification sounds. I have been researching and battling this issue for months when suddenly yesterday, I read that for people whose camera wouldnt work, they went into the main settings and clear data for the camera, and the gallery. It worked. Camera worked and so did playing mp3s. Well, today it started not working again. This time I only cleared data for the gallery, and again everything worked like it should. I did root the phone several months ago, using Photon Torpedo. First, I wonder if using that method, if I may have messed something up. Anyone hear of this sort of thing? But then again, I am sure I had problems with this before I rooted. Second, I wonder if anyone knows a specific correlation between malfunctions and the gallery app. Third, would freezing the gallery app with Titanium Backup cripple functionality of the phone/media, and would it work to keep these malfunctions from happening?
Sorry for being long winded, but hoping I'm on to something here.
Thank you.
I posted that a few days ago, but in a different forum, (wrong phone forum) but now today I find out that clearing data in gallery was only a temporary fix, as today it did not work. This is the second or third time I thought I found a connection, but was wrong. Does anyone else have this problem and come up with an actual fix? For the life of me, I cannot figure out what the root cause of this problem is. Thank you.
I haven't heard of it. Have you tried a factory reset?
Sent from my Amazon Kindle Fire using xda premium
Wifes photon doing exactly same thing. what apps you have installed. maybe we can narrow it down. I did a factory reset, flashed a different rom, then installed all her apps back on. worked correctly for 3 days then no notification sounds, camera wont open and can t veiw videos on facebook or youtube. reboot the phone and all is well for a few days then the problem comes back.

[Xperia P] Graphics positioning problem

Hello guys
Here's an interesting problem:
Ever since I bought my phone (sealed, new, carrier-free, original ICS .54 firmware, etc), I noticed a strange bug in the Facebook application. Whenever I opened my messages or notifications, the arrow pointing at them (See first two pictures, link in the bottom of post) would be in the wrong place. At first I thought this was a facebook app problem, but then I saw that not only does this NOT happen on any other qHD screen i've seen on my friends' phones, but there are also positioning problems in other apps in my phone.. for example exDialer, which should have a small dial button in the middle and two other buttons on its sides, for me it has a huge dial button and the other two are pushed to the edges of the screen for some reason (I've drawn on the picture where the buttons should actually be, using great paint skills). And here's the best one: When using the stock timer app, there are two arcs around the clock that count the time left. The thick one is ok, but look at the smaller one, the one for the seconds. Yeah. it doesn't like to stay around the clock. instead, it's just casually floating near it. and it doesn't even draw itself entirely.
Does anyone have any idea regarding what could have caused this? I don't want to believe that this is normal and that they ship phones that make graphic glitches like this one.
I've had this problem ever since the first day I used it. At first I didn't know it was the phone,I thought the culprit was facebook. Since then, I have unlocked my bootloader, installed the Sliding_XP kernel, Fidelity ROM, then uninstalled fidelity and put back .54, then installed .75, which I also reinstalled yesterday because of a mod i installed and didn't like. None of these OS/kernel changes solved the graphics glitch.
I know that my warranty is void because of the unlocked bootloader. Does anyone know if there is a way to fix this without needing to send it to a service? It looks like a software bug, but it's very odd that upon formatting the system so many times, the problem is still there.
Thanks in advance!

Have the same issue. I think its an APP Issue not a phone issue.

But the system alarm and clock app shouldnt have the issue should it? and multiple apps as well? But yeah I dont think its hardware related either, but then how would you fix that..
Service centre is the only option left i m afraid..

[Q] Youtube not working after softawer update.

Hullo, chaps
Well, My case is the following:
My Phone screen died because I let it fall too many times, and the last one lits pf people ran over it at a party XD. It was an LG L5 II.
I decided to get a new one, but I wanted the same model and brand beacuse I was really satisfied with it. So I went to buy a new one. I bought and updated its software (At that time I had no idea the update made video fail).
My phone came with YouTube 4.5.17, which works perfectly but I wanted to have the new features, so, a few days later I bought and updated it, I upgraded YouTube app from Play-store (to 5.17.6) and it stopped working, videos kind of charged but never playbacked. I tried everything. Signing in and out, clearing cache, deleting data, rebooting, cleaning ram, cleaning junk, deleting dalvik-cache, delete all app cache, virus checking, even Youtube troubleshouting, checked if played in 3g and so on. Nothing worked.
Then I had the brilliant idea that if I installed an older version of YouTube it may work, so I took my older phone (same brand and model but the screen is not working) and copied the YouTube app (5.7.38), that was working in that phone and has the feature I like (the one you can search while watching videos) but it didn't work, the same problem with playback. I tried everything again, but again nothing worked.
So, thinking it was a hardware problem, I went to the shop and changed my phone for another one. I tested youtube and it worked. I updated youtube app and it worked. So I came back home happy. Here I updated my software... then youtube didn't stop working. And finally I applied two fxcking patches. And after that... the same problem.
Just now I realised that the problem was not the YouTube app nor the hardware, but the patches LG provided through its software update app.
What can I do. How can I roll back those specific patches?
I felt so stupid, but I had no way how to prove it was the patches.
I was tons of hours today at the shop trying to change my device and I won't go again.
Screenshots attached to show the problem.
Thanks in advance.
