Rename your h-boot zip to PG86IMG and put it on root of your SD card. Then just reboot to bootloader and when prompted press vol up button. When it's done you need to delete that zip from your SD or rename it

You don't need a computer or fastboot. You just take out your battery, put it back, and press power and vol down to get into bootloader. When bootloader comes up, it will scan your SD card and when it finds PG86IMG it wil ask you if you want to update. Press vol up ( that means "yes") and wait till it's done

But why have i do to this downgrade? what is the benefit?
The benefit is S-Off which will allow you to flash any ROM/Kernel. If you currently have 1.49.0011 or above unlocked using the HTC method you would have had troubles where some ROMs just sit at the white HTC screen forever or error messages when trying to flash kernels ect.
This will fix all those issues!

Trying to update my Amaze 4G

Hi Everyone,
I have a Mobilicity Amaze 4G, got the OTA ICS notification and cant seem to update.
After hitting "Install Now" the phone restarts and shows a green "X" in the center.
I have to do a battery pull to get the phone working again and it loads with ginger bread.
I am on stock Mobilicity ginger bread, phone is rooted with S-on. Nothing else has been done to it.
What could be the problem?
Will the method described here work?

You don't see an icon name Amaze 3.2? With an A as the icon? When you do, double click on that, it won't be in the data folder, it will be outside of it. Unzip the contents of the zip file into an empty folder so you won't lose any of the files in between your downloads.

I'd advise you to have the ruu ready, once relocked, it's gonna be stuck on the bootloader, but since it's wind, just choose fastboot then run the exe file, it's gonna restore everything on the phone to complete stock, I'd advise you to copy the OTA file from your internal sd card's download folder, copy it to your external sd card, once the stock ruu has finished installing from your pc and reboots, do a battery pull, hold volume down then power on, should take you to hboot, choose recovery, recovery should give you a red triangle, hit volume up then power button. install update.zip from external, browse to the OTA file then hit the power button, it's gonna install, reboot two times or so, voila! You're on ICS!

My phone is rooted, but I just relocked the bootloader.
Does relocking the bootloader unroots the phone?
I didnt know installing an ota i got in notification bar would be this hard.
All i want to do is install the official ICS update mobility sent to me this morning.
I bought my phone rooted, but it is still on gingerbread. i never done anything to it.
Requirements:
1. Stock GB of whichever provider you choose to install from be it Telus or T-Mobile
do note that you can only install the ICS OTA file of the exact providers who's stock GB you have installed.
2. The OTA corresponding file, I'll provide links to both below.
3. An SD card.
4. S-ON users will have to relock their bootloader.

Dont i already meet the requirements seeing that i have the gingerbread installed that came with the phone?

It doesn't seems so, the green x usually means you have the wrong recovery and since hasoon removed that from his tool we need to flash the stock recovery by restoring a stock ruu.

Okay, I think I found it, using hasoons tool, place this file here: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/19769336/recovery.img
into the data folder of the tool, start up his tool, then choose to flash your own recovery, it should select that file you downloaded and flash it, you have to do this via fastboot, after that, retry updating.

Thank you for the help so far, i appreciate it.
Just for clarification after relocking the bootloader the green "X" doesnt show anymore.
when i try to update after relocking the bootloader it gets stuck at the white screen that says "security warning relocked" at the top.
Should I still flash the recovery image?
What do you mean by "do this via fastboot"?
Should the phone be off while flashing?
Sorry I am just a little confused.

You're newer to this than I thought, awe brother.
Let's start over, I'll go look for the stock RUU for mobilicity, is your device from mobilicity or is it from another carrier?

How to downgrade 1.58 hboot?

Hello,
I have tried reading all of the stickies (and list of stickies post) for a method to downgrade hboot 1.58 without success. My ultimate goal is to be able to flash a custom recovery so that I can try the radio fix since my wife's Evo 3D will not complete the hands free activation and she does not get data services. We took the phone to the Sprint store and they said the previous owner flashed SOMETHING to the phone and messed up the radio. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You need to do the wire trick. Its simple. Search for the guide on here and download the required stuff. Look at the video then follow the guide. After you have s-off then you download the hboot you want and put it on the SD card and flash.
There isn't another method to putting a custom recovery on the phone? I just want to fix this hands free activation failing.

Don't be afraid of trying the wire trick - it really isn't that frightening as long as you follow instructions. I managed to do it on my first go, much to my exhilaration
If the previous owner flashed something onto the phone then does it have some sort of recovery on it?
I succesfully downgrade my bootloader from 1.58 to 1.53 with this tutorial (Methode D):
/showthread.php?t=1743466
The wire trick is easy. It needs some attemps but it works great and you can not do lots of stuff wrong. :good:

Download the hboot you want from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=30014044
Rename it PG86IMG.zip and place it on the root of your sd card. Reboot to bootloader and follow the prompts. Restart phone. You may need to take the card out and remove the zip from the sd card if you get a bootloop.

Sorry for the confusion.
I referenced that thread in the post I gave him above, but took it one step higher since my post gives a little more detail about the flashing methods and options to delete the PG86IMG.zip file if you flash it that way.
I guess he didn't read my post.

Got it !! And stuck in a bootloop. Have taken card out amd removed the zip. Any ideas what I may have done wrong?

OK, its on the sd card and when I reboot to bootloader I'm not getting any prompts... I just have the normal selections (bootloader, reboot, reboot bootloader, power down) I tried the "rebbot bootloader" option few times as well as taking out battery and gettting back in there. Still no prompts.
What have I done wrong?

Make sure the file is in the root of the SD card and is named exactly "PG86IMG.zip" with the caps and without the quotes. Sometimes an extra ".zip" gets added when the file is downloaded to Windows and copied over, so it's best to check it with a file manager such as ES File Explorer on the phone.
Also, when you first start the bootloader it may not scan the card until you press the power button once to select fastboot.
Edit: I see you edited your last post and you've figured it out.

You probably need to flash a ROM that is compatible with the bootloader you just installed. If you've removed the PG86IMG.zip file from the SD card you should be able to start recovery from the bootloader and flash a ROM. If you are using 4EXT, you will probably need to format cache+dalvik before it will let you do anything else.

So what I'm getting from this post is that for me to downgrade from 1.58 to 1.4 I need to do the wire trick..... I was thinking that downgrading would have saved me from doing tht. I also noticed that my WiFi says error and 4g wouldn't come on... Not to mention my Bluetooth is sparatic... Very close to flinging it into toxic waste... Lol

All of those issues sound like a bad kernel flash. If you do the wire trick, flashing kernels is easier too.

[Q] Troubleshooting Insertcoin 3.0.7 ZaraCL Installation

Ok, so I found out the Kitkat version of Insertcoin was finally released for the ZaraCL. I figured I would flash it since I had been wanting to start fresh and remove some bloat.
This is what I have in the bootloader and the steps I have taken so far:
unlocked bootloader
s-off
CID-SPCS_002
HBOOT 2.22.0000
RADIO 1.14.50.1003
openDSP-v16.2.0268_noBeats.0902
OS-2.15.652.3
eMMC-boot 1024MB
1. flashed TWRP 2.7.1.1
2. flashed the kitkat hboot no red text mod from Duir
3. flashed Insertcoin 3.0.7 via TWRP
It says that the install completes, but when I go to boot into it I just get a boot loop to the HTC splash screen. I know I'm probably being stupid and missing something small, but I cant figure it out. Any help is appreciated.

No. Try to reflash the insertcoin rom
Ok I'll do it again and report back.
Ok it still goes into a boot loop. First it vibrates and shows the HTC splash screen then it goes to another HTC screen that says powered by ANDROID at the bottom.
Maybe u need to delete the hcheck file but i dont want u to do it yet bec im not sure. Hopefully some1 else can help u

He doesnt have to delete it, he can rename it.
just by using the command "mv hcheck hcheck.bak".
he can revert it with "mv hcheck.bak hcheck"
Yeah u r right. Go ahead and do it. Let me know if it helps
Ok I tried it and now it just hangs at the second HTC screen. I don't know if that's an improvment or not.
EDIT: never mind I just didn't let it set long enough. It booted. Thank you so much y'all are awesome.
