Gear Fit Manager battery drain? - Samsung Gear Fit

Has anyone noticed that the gear fit manager is draining their battery? Mine is using about 17% and I've seen as high as 32%. Any ideas what might be causing this?

Me too (I'm using the S4) and the guy from work who bought his wife one at the same time as me (she uses an S3) is reporting the same. It's preventung the phone from sleeping

Same here and it's inconsistent - some days it uses less then 10% of my phone's battery and is fine, other days it takes up over 20% and is a significant drain. I thought it was the weather watchface hitting the phone for GPS and weather, but changing the watchface hasn't solved it.
My biggest issue, esp since the Gear Manager barely used any battery.

the fit manager app has crushed my battery life and now rarely get through a day on my Note 3 where i usually have 30% at bed time. my research has shown that having Kit Kat (which as a Verizon customer i am still waiting for) adds better battery life.

I have kit Kat and it's still crushed my battery life here

Does not register at all on my Rogers Note 3.

same here , I am considering of returning this !

Updated my N3 to kitkat 4.4.2 and cut battery drain and resource percentage by 1/2. All good now.

It's unfortunate that so many of us are having this issue. I love the functionality of the fit but this battery drain is a real issue.

Uff I have a S4 with Kitkat (4.4.2) and my battery drain in 14 hrs, normal use.
I'm thinking on return the Gear Fit and change into a Gear 2 Neo.
What do you think?

In case someone would like to see what the Gear Fit Manager can and will do to a Galaxy S5 battery, i have pictures.
Hope this issue will be resolved soon. The s5 have a great battery but it is pointless if it can never go to deep sleep. The irony is that the only program I know may help is greenify with the xposed module and S Health will crash on you as soon as xposed is installed. :sly:

the same issue was goign on with S4 ( I tested on both 4.3 and 4.4.2) , the fit manager was keeping the phone awake at 384Ghz and would not allow deep sleep! I have already returned it, since it was kinda pointless. My phones battery was at 30% miday when I normally have like 70% .

Well I heard and tested that at least Gear 2 Neo is better in heart rating rather than gear fit, isn't it?
Moreover gear manager doesn't drain the battery as gear fit manager does

Yeah so far it looks very promising - though the previous Gear Fit Manager was a bit random - 10% use one way, 24% another day. So for with the new update, it's not showing up in my top 10 battery drains at all. If this keeps up, I'll be stoked.

My Fit Manager experience has been like this:
Original Software on N3 running 4.3 = 29% battery
Original Software on N3 running 4.4.2 = 19% battery
Today's Updated Software on N3 running 4.4.2 = 9% battery

after 3 days 15% at the end of the day.
roughly 3,5 days, running pedometer all the time and mostly sleep record as well
After two days I charge my Note 3 and at the same time charge the Fit.
At about 50 or 60 %
I haven't got specific numbers on this, sorry, but yesterday I left my Fit at home with almost a full charge and when I returned 2 hours later the screen was on with a notification, which probably happened when my phone was within range. The odd thing is my battery was at 35%. It makes me think that either having BT on or something else drained the battery. Other than that one instance battery has been great.
From my Galaxy Note 2
charging Fit every 2 days with no problem making it that long. my N3 battery however was getting crushed by Fit Manager until i updated my N3 to KitKat and i got my battery back and resources in battery usage went from 30% to 15% so KitKat greatly helped my N3 battery when using Fit.
Gear fit battery lasts 3.5 days with normal usage without auto screen on. What I am more concerned is the battery of my S4. I have days when I have it drained before evening...I don't know if Bluetooth or Gear manager eats it faster.

on my Verizon N3 on 4.3 i had the same problem. i would go to bed before Fit Manager at around 30% almost every night and Fit Manager brought me down to needing to plug it in before bed. i upgraded to 4.4.2 and now it is back to a manageable battery usage again.

Same here.
using stock S5.
I'm getting 4-5 days, typically 5 actually, but I turned off all wallpaper, all notifications (except texts, phone calls and alarms), and set it to leave the screen blank except for the notifications I allowed. I last charged it up just about 48 hours ago and it has 65% charge remaining now. So it's using about 18% - 20% a day.
I don't know about you guys but I don't really care about pretty wallpaper or about seeing every bit of spam email I get. I just want the important alerts like calls and texts. Turning all this sh.., uh, stuff off doubles the battery life. Honestly I don't even use it for a watch, I have a box full of mid tier luxury watches and it would be a shame to not wear them. I just want the Gear "Fit" to do the "Fit" part mostly.
Mine usually lasts about 4-5 days. It has about 10 apps pushing notifications and a black wallpaper (I'm just using the standard clock). I'm pretty happy with the battery.
Picked up my new Fit on Tuesday night charged it and this is now Saturday night with 33% left. Using for notifications except email, pedometer on, sleep function every night. Auto screen turned off. Very pleased much better overall than my Gear 1.
You can refer to thisthread for a more detailed battery life explanation. I usually get about 5-6 days per charge. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2709343

Yep. I barely touched my phone today and only had 30 minutes of screen time. The Android OS kept my phone awake for 4 hours. My phone made it 15 hours only because when I went to the store I plugged my car charger in. My battery dropped from 15% to 1% in a little over a hour without me picking it up.

You try clearing data on Google Play Services and Google Framework.. Then disabling " always scanning" under WiFi advanced. Then if your daily use allows turning your GPS/Location Settings to Battery Saving or GPS Only?
That should fix your Android OS from killing that battery
Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
You can easily increase the battery life quite a bit by rooting the phone ( assuming you're not on KitKat) and installing no frills cpu which works as the paid set cpu on this phone. See

Everyone talks about battery savers and settings and such (which is a good thing) but maybe the battery is just going bad? Check that battery and make sure it dont have any swelling or indications like that. New ones are like maybe 7 to 10 bucks on amazon.

I was rooted and I tried following a guide to upgrade and keep root but I lost sound and the ability to make calls. The only way I knew how to fix it was do the OTA update. Apparently to get sound back I had to do something that wasn't included in the step by step instructions.

Something was keeping your phone awake...nothing to do with overall battery life of the phone. I actually believe its a 4.4.2 bug as it happens to me quite often. Not sure what causes it but if I see battery is draining and Android OS is on top...a simple reboot fixes it for the time being.

It's definitely a bug of sorts to do with WiFi and how Location is handled from what I've read. The phone can get in a wake lock. Need root so you can freeze apps and run a wake lock detector and track things down.

Odd... no settings or anything you changed, or apps disabled? I've done all I can and can't get anywhere near what you're reporting. Especially with my Gear 2 Neo connected.
Since day one Android System and Android OS have been wrecking my battery life. Consistently using significantly more battery than my screen except on rare circumstance.

Yes, a lot of changes, funny thing is that I took the time to post a long thread with all the details a month and a half back just a couple of weeks after I bought it, and seeing the few responses I got it seems than nobody paid attention to this here and in the other forum I posted it.

I found the thread, only thing I put back was the option to keep WiFi on all the time not just when charging, I noticed later that it didn't matter, so I put it back as default.
Here is the thread, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2734356
I actually just finished going through it. I had done a large number of those tweaks, I did the same as you with the Keep WiFi on, didn't notice a difference when I toyed with that setting a while back. I did turn off hotword detection, so we'll see if that helps. I also saw someone mention the pedometer was draining theres. As I use the pedometer on my Gear, I didn't realize the device still had the pedometer running as well, so I disabled that. Can't think of too much else to mess with, but we'll see if those few small tweaks knock that Android System and OS drain down.

Yeah mine does that too, but I can still get over 5 hours easy. It must be some rogue app thats causing your battery to drain quickly.

hey guys, im running v5 of twisted rom by @The Sickness. It is a flawless rom, but I was wondering how come my battery life is getting drained so fast.
Its just how it is Looks like u got many hours from that full charge though.
Lollipop drains no one has gotten to the bottom if it .
Make sure your phone is going ino deep sleep use CPU spy app.
Try to disable Volte under phone/settings
Best option to me is buy extra battery or a battery case .
Or Go back to kitkat O.S .

Made sure phone goes into deep sleep .
I got 9 hrs deep sleep phone went 100% to 96% drain just over night while I was asleep. I have 20hrs left before 0%
I'd suggest getting anker.
Try to adjust settings disable any built in apps unneeded.
It has to do with settings and a good battery and calibrating it.

Is Samsung going to fix the OS battery drain that plagues the S7e? If not, it a deal breaker for me. I gave up the S7e for moto z force and the battery last at least 30% longer. Both phones have very similar size battery at 3600mAh & 3500mAh respectively.

not all s7e have the battery drain issue, if you have tried a full factory reset and tested the phone without installing extra apps and its still got battery drain then get a refund I guess. got heaps of apps on mine, like tasker and macrodroid and I don't really have any battery issues.

If that is true, they should have put a 20,000 mah battery in it before they sealed it up. 4.5 hours is going to hurt. Are they going to start selling a real backpack full of fuel cells?

If battery life is such a big concern, don't forget Samsung is going to offer a 3100mah wireless charging "backpack" http://www.samsung.com/ca/consumer/mobile-devices/smartphones/galaxy-note/galaxy-note7/accessories/.
How can you only get 4h or SOT when the battery is basically the same size as the S7e and the display is hardly any larger? I've got the S7e and it has the most amazing battery life of any phone I've ever used. I'm holding out on getting the Note 7 until there is some more data on just how long the battery last. If it really is 4h, then I'll give it a miss.
When I find the link I'll edit my post but someone has claimed, and been showing 5.5+ hours of SoT with everything running (BT, AOD, tons of apps in the background, etc.).
I wouldn't be too worried, it has a fairly large batt, and I doubt it's going to run a much shorter duration than the s7e, it simply wouldn't make sense.

Exynos I presume?
Haven't heard of any sd820 s7e getting 7 hours easily with normal use
The snapdragon Note 7 seems like it'll get 4-5 hours without tweaks, which is ok
Battery drain is definitely not fixed.
Look here.

Let's see a screenshot first.
I believe that some people don't have it for whatever reason (don't change a thing or you might find out what everyone is complaining about) but you're a tiny percent compared to those that do.
3500mah should easily get 7 if it weren't for the MM drain bug.
S6 with 2550 is easy 5 on LP. Barely 4 on MM.
