Official MIUI Support... - HTC Droid DNA

I was browsing the xiaomi site and I found that it has a download for miui on the "HTC butterfly dna" but I don't know which phone it's for, though the picture of the device is obviously the Verizon DNA, so if anyone wants to try it i'll put the link for the official download and you guys can post the results.
http://en.miui.com/download-206.html

I tried it a few weeks ago, because I was curious. DO NOT FLASH IT.
The ROM works just fine, but it's meant for GSM-only on the Butterfly/DNA. It won't connect to the Verizon network at all, even after modifying the radio settings and doing the *#*#4636#*#* dialer trick to default to CDMA. After you flash it, with any other subsequent ROM you flash afterwards, the radio will still be broken. The only solution to fix it is re-flash the stock recovery and stock radio again.
It probably wouldn't be *too* much work to modify the ROM to make it Verizon-compatible, but I haven't had time to look into it much. All I know is it won't work as is.
---------- Post added at 07:22 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:12 PM ----------
I should also point out that MIUI for HTC devices is currently based on Android 4.2, so app performance isn't as good as it could be.
Once MIUI is re-based to 4.4, it should be easier to fix the GSM-defaulting issue as well, due to the OS improvements on that front.

Sorry to bring up and old thread...but....would this work on the VZW DNA (unlocked/S-off) using ATT?

It should. I've had no problems beforehand.
Sorry to bring up an old thread (deja vu?), but what is the chance we will see MIUI V6 ported to the DNA? I would do it myself but I don't know anything about porting at all. :\

I could do it. As long as we get a MIUI V6 ROM on a working CDMA base, (preferably the VZW HTC One) I could port it over to the DNA no problem.

v4.7.11 reboots when using media content like Gallery apps. I have tried different Gapps packages and playstore apps. all with eh same end result.
The previous version 4.7.4 boots just fine but gives a storage is full error every now and then when trying to install apps.

v.4.7.11 is pretty buggy. After clean flash make wipe cache, dalvik and fix permission from recovery before first launch.
P.S. IMHO v.4.6.13 is the last(most) stable.

[KEXEC] STOCK to KEXEC Patch -- GSM/CDMA Patches

I want to introduce to you some new stuff!
# STOCK to KEXEC #
This is a patch to boot any Stock-based rom via Kexec. The kernel was made by the STS-Dev-Team (Hashcode & Dhacker) and I just fixed some small things, nothing special.
It can be useful in example for GSM-Users who want to run .16 VZW Based Roms. Now you don't have to wipe your CID anymore. Just keep your stock EU kernel and be able to run the VZW Roms!
Note: This kernel is NOT modified! No OC or sth like that! I am currently working on a stock-mod kernel!
This will NOT work on normal stock rom! You MUST use a stock-based rom!
May not work for CHINESE Rom!
Instructions
Download the patch (Selection depends on your device/rom - CDMA or GSM based rom)
Reboot into recovery and flash it over your stock-based rom
Reboot
Enjoy
Note: BMM users, make sure you have KEXEC enabled in boot options!

Okay still trying to read up on all this awesome news. Just a few questions.
I'm going to flash catalyst ROM and I'm on CDMA .16 . I'm going to download the patch witch takes me from CDMA to GSM.. correct? Then install ROM as normal then flash the CDMA to GSM patch then reboot phone? Is that correct order? Or should I do diffrentley?

Yes, its correct like you said. Just see the downloads, the names should explain itself.
And also keep in mind that you may not be able to safe APN on CDMA to GSM patch (at least on catalyst) but maybe it works for you...
If someone has any idea to fix it, tell me. Or if someone wnats to help, I will send you something you can try around.

Say true verizon JB ROMS also have not boot with CDMA kexec patch and GSM kexec patch. May be kexec kernel do not support init.d with symsearch.ko module?
Finally i boot my ARTMOD for DROID RAZR XT912 on my EMEA RAZR XT910 with stock EMEA kernel after removed init.d which load symsearch.ko module. It's a little strange that stock 16 VZW support symsearch.ko but kexec not.

I don't think so..omnirom of course is always android and the appearence is similar in every versions..but I think that is a different concept on a programmative side. Yeah even me was interested in nexus 5, even if today didn't come out anything from google..but max in a couple of week will be out for sure, let's see :fingers-crossed: of course working on a device AOSP listed is easier (fully working rom, a recent kernel available, bootloaders factory unlocked without nonsense HTC restrictions)..but working on evo 3D gives more satisfaction LoL So now you are developing in a "blind way", I mean without a phisical device..and you roms boot!! I am impressed Good luck for the 4.4 developing , hope to see in future
Rom still isn't bugless, don't send me PMs with bugs,I already know what is broken
Anyways
Little(quite big tho) experiment
Take a read at http://www.linux.org/threads/flash-friendly-file-system-f2fs.4477/
This file system by default is used on motorola moto x and together with @namenlos we found that it delivers better performance also on our little evo.
As (I hope) most of you know, formatting to a different file system requires a set of utils, thus a different recovery and the loss of all of your data.
I didn't find any good reason to make all of you erase all your data, flash a different recovery and running manually format lines,so I came with a different flashing method..
It is more complex than usual and might not work fine(remember,no device,so no testing)
Download https://www.dropbox.com/s/utdclidhbi4yokp/first.zip and https://www.dropbox.com/s/dkj9n7jb8u1i2vp/second.zip and http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23159073880937120 and place 'em on your SD card
tl:dr:
Flash first.zip, once it ends reboot to recovery, wait for it to reboot, boot again to recovery and flash f2fs.zip
Click to collapse
Here's a little insight
First zip does the following things:
Make a backup of your /data(make sure you have 1.2 GB free on your SD)
Make a backup of your recovery
Flash a custom TWRP made to work with F2FS
And adds a custom openrecoveryscript to tell the special recovery to flash second.zip(ensure you have it in root of your sd)
Asks you to reboot to recovery(please do it)
Click to collapse
Once you reboot, custom TWRP starts, reads the script that tells it to flash second.zip
Second zip does the following:
Format as F2FS /data and /cache
Restore your data
Restore your recovery
Reboot(you should then pull the battery and reboot to recovery)
Click to collapse
From your recovery, flash "f2fs.zip" which is the rom itself, reboot and enjoy
NOTE:
Kernel is not evervolv,it's a hybrid between a old johnnyslt with tweaks, new EV and my various changes
https://github.com/helicopter88/android_kernel_htc_msm8660/tree/jellybean-4.3
Oh yes fantastic file system on the moto x huge gains in performance for a dual core processor, battery performance is unbelievable, 5 hours screen time and you'll still have power left over, loving mine
Sent on my Moto X
I am willing to test it but one thing prevents me from doing that (apart from a lack of free time). How do I get back to the standard FS? do I just restore the backup i would create in the recovery?

It doesn't work,no need to try
in that case I am waiting for another build. I will be happy to test it
To go back to the old Rom you might have to restore the recovery first. Just go into fastboot usb mode and flash the official recovery. Then you can restore your backup comfortably in TWRP for sure. IIRC it should also work on the modified TWRP, at least when I tested it.

4.3 TW Vzw Patch SS or MDK For XXUE [MKF] [ML1] [ML6] [ML9] [NA4] Int Roms 02-19-14

This Patch Is For 4.3 TW International Based Roms. It Will Not Work With 4.4 TW KitKat Roms!!
Works on:
[XXUEMK8] [XXUEMKF] [XXUEML1] [XXUEML6] [XXUEML9] [XXUENA4] International Based Roms
This is a Patch for TW 4.3 XXUE International Base Roms to work on 4.3 Verizon S4 with MDK firmware and custom recovery. There is a Minimum Patch which does not change the build.prop or contacts or dialer but some features of verizon will not work such as the ability to change from global mode to cdma/lte only mode and the signal icons will be international version not the verzion ones. Use this patch if the rom you are using is heavily themed. The Full Patch changers build.prop and flashes stock versions of the international dark dialer and contacts that will maintain more verizon functions along with using vzw signal icons and the ability to change from global mode and cdma/lte only mode. Use this patch to make the rom the most compatible with verizon. Both patches contain a modified version of the International dark themed SecMms.apk which works to receive both sms and mms and group messages. This app is required and cannot be changed so if the rom has a themed messaging app it will be replaced with mine. Sorry but thats the way it is.
THESE ARE NOT MY ROMS OR KERNALS I DONT HAVE ALL THE ANSWERS IF SOMETHING DOES NOT WORK I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE!
Instructions:

Other issues I've seen is sometimes it'll take 2-3 minutes to boot up. There could be an explanation for this that I'm not aware of. It's also froze on me while charging. Screen was still off but nothing I could do would unlock it but the red LED indicator light was responding to the charge plug still.

Curious if anyone has used this method to flash some of the custom ROMs. I'd love to see some of the international ROMs running on our device.

That did the trick! Thanks, forgot all about that thread for fixing the problem on the SIII, so good to know that it works here too.
And still have root!

Where did you find the Samsung Apps?
Phone froze again with the screen off. This time I was pressing the power button on and off, testing the lag of the lockscreen. One more time and I'm going back to Eclipse! Also, AdBlock doesn't work on Android 4.3 so I'm trying Adblock Plus in the meantime. https://adblockplus.org/en/android-install
*edit* Aaaand it froze again for the 3rd time. Back to Eclipse. I can't take this instability.

CDMA without gsm patch?
Will this fix work on all cm12 roms or just this rom? Also is there any way I can make it work on official cm12?

No this is gms ROM the patch is really for just the driver files
So I've never dealt with this gsm & APN settings stuff before. I just dl a rom for my device, flash it & go. So does that mean that this is totally not for me & I can't flash, or can I flash it & it'll run on sprint like most other roms?

Yes DU is a port too. I just wanted to give another option for people. But I'm not running this I'm running DU. If you try this you have to flash the patch for this as soon as I learn how to pack this crap in the system-new.dat we won't have all these zips

eh.. im still using zv4 from the very begining, and i always using gsm..
so, now i think, is it true that every custom rom that doesn't have "gsm port" on their title label aren't capable for using gsm??
and i must use a ported gsm of custom rom in my case??
i'm sorry, still a newcomer..
NFC
NFC is not working, also this is cyanogenmod 12 base.

[rom] cm 11 a3ul

Yes guys, it's here. I have ported Cyanogenmod 11 to our Desire 610. Just flash it normally through TWRP and you should be find. BTW, I ported it using slimkat. Thanks Zihan!
FLASH AT OWN RISK
BUG LIST:
Front+Rear Cameras not working
You tell me!
This rom needs testers so anyone please give it a shot and update that buglist please!!!
DOWNLOAD LINK BELOW: (ITS THROUGH MEGA)
https://mega.nz/#!lY9g1JYL!bjndT25FD-BiBgaDx5iyV_gwiUXQrKHCaBuDZvXfeYc
To download to phone storage, on your browser, go to settings, or 3 little dots and check desktop view. (transfer to sd or keep on internal but don't wipe internal mem before flashing)
If the rom at least works, I'll try building CM12.1, so test it people!
UPDATE: 11/8/15
Hey guys, just ported the rom again.
Hopefully bootloop is fixed. Its on mega again and I think it may work. I modified boot.img so it will probably work.
Please test!

I'm getting bootlooped after installing it on my european a3ul. :/
Great work though, this phone is in dying need of dev support.
Bootloop
Okay, I'll look at the port and I'll probably re port it again with a different method

Hey guys,
I have school tomorrow. If I have extra time during these 5 days, I will look into the bootloop. But the updated rom will probably be released on the weekend, when I have the time to port it again.
And yes, you could expect CM 12.1 soon, as I probably will build from source, but right now I'm focusing on CM11. But CM 12.1 will be coming in about 2-3 months or less.

What about the system, we want to wipe that right
Sent from my HTC Desire 610 using XDA Free mobile app
then the rom works for AT & T? Or have bootloop for all?
CM11 and if it works
Hi guys,
So, CM11 for the Desire 610 needs testers. I have not tested yet because for some schoolwork, I need a camera, and the camera is obviously not working, as I stated because the port rom had camera issues too AND ALSO MOBILE DATA ISSUES. The rom could work on the US and other regions versions of this phone too. So if it works for your phone, just post on this thread. And you could also test it to see for yourself.
I will probably test tommorow though

Yes, wipe system too. If you need more help, just google how to flash a rom highonandroid
Bootloop
Next weekend bootloop will be fixed
btw You can also try slimkat, its not very buggy, only speaker phone issues and camera, but just use a 3rd part camera app
I was getting text messaging issues, it the only reason I stoped using the slimkat Rom

I had a quick try of this last night. Turns out it has the same bootloop problems I had when I ported cm11 over slimkat a couple of months ago. When I tried, I fixed the bootloop OK but then kept getting system ui force close because of some problem with surface flinger. After some research I came to the conclusion that to successfully port other roms we first need a cm base built from source. Hopefully @magicstick5 can work some magic that I could not. In the meanwhile I will keep trying to build it from source(I've got it booting but not much working yet).

boot.img contains kernel and others files needed to startup our device, right? How about changing the boot.img from stock to the rom? Mb this will help fix the bootloop?

This rom is ported from slimrom which already contains stock kernel(boot.img).
Yea same, even the apps don't work, when I copy the apps from /priv-app and /app to a slimkat rom.
