FAQ
What type of kernel does this use?
AOSP kernels. I, personally, use ElementalX.
Where's my root access?
Look up a little bit, above the FAQ section.
Where is ART?
It seems that this is a hybrid 4.3-4.4 build of android, mainly KitKat, but features such as ART and Immersive have yet to be implemented.
What about Immersive mode?
Read the question directly above this one. Immersive is partially present, but seems to be statusbar-only.

OK will try does this have a lot of settings for themes etc...

Themes haven't been fully implemented yet. You can test some of its current, limited functionality by going to Settings > Display > Wallpaper > Themes.

I notice it in the Copy/Paste mainly, but the order is easy to remember.

Are you sure you can use ElementalX with this? I've been running it since the first beta was released, but every time I try to flash a custom kernel it fails to boot at all. Also you should note that if you flash GAPPS the weekly automatic OTAs will fail due to the way MIUI implement weekly patches - checks for system apps and if it finds anything it is not expecting then it fails.

You can use ElementalX as long as you use the AOSP version. As for the GApps issue, I think I mentioned something about that in the OP. I'd have to double-check.
EDIT: I didn't mention that issue specifically, but I did mention to check that thread for details with root and GApps.

Amazing!
Thank you so much! This is amazing! A nice change from stock Android
I also have the Chinese characters in the copy/paste text popup even though I selected English. Definitely not a big deal though
Thanks OP!

Care to check General Chat? I was told to put the thread there by a mod due not being "original" (by me). Otherwise it's duplicated...

Have used the rom.... its sad we can only choose the V5 to flash.. the previous V4 is way better.. there is no theme to choose for V5 and all the icon fonts and logo are tiny winy...

Nice, but XDA and GPL require a link to kernel source included with the ROM. AOSP really means .... nothing as it's only a generic term.

There is no v6.. Search at en.miui.com and you would not find it.. This is just v5 based on kitkat.. Still a nice looking rom though!

[Online Kitchen] An online kitchen to customize your android rom (Offline)

This online kitchen is ONLINE now. However, it is still under construction. USE IT AT YOUR OWN RISK
Visit http://www.aok-project.com/ !
Hey, guys,
I'm developing an online kitchen to help everyone even without any knowledge of programming or kitchening customize to their own android rom.
Below is the interface of my website.
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Basically, here's how it works
Choose a your device
Choose a core (base rom), like CM_7.2_RC1 or CM_7.1_Stable
Choose the built-in apps. Here you can remove the built-in apps that you never use. For example, I like CM 7.2 rom, but I never use the built-in camera and message. Instead I use Go SMS Pro and Camera360. In this case, I could remove them by un-checking Camera and Message checkbox.
Submit your request
Download your core.zip and apps.zip. [Core.zip] contains all rom data except all built-in apps. [apps.zip] contains all built-in apps except ones you un-checked.
Flash them into your phone!
Done!
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
Right now, online kitchen only support Nexus One, CM 7.2 RC1 and CM 7.1 as core. In future, it would:
Support more devices and cores.
Allow you to add your own apks to the rom as built-in apps
Customize cores (patch kernel, remove unnessasary language files and etc.)
Personalization (Add your name to "About phone") Anyone could tell me is this possible? I mean, is this legal or against open source?
blah blah blah
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
So, anyone has any suggestion?
Thanks for your time and help!
If you add sense stuff later, will be a must.

As of now, it looks good to me! When I get off work I'm going to pull out my N1 from the box and use your kitchen to put something together, that's for sure!
I love that you have descriptions of what the files are. Makes things a bit more understandable.

Maybe a functionality to remove/add ringtones and (live) wallpapers? Especially stock live wallpapers can be large in size.

I'm thinking "include our own apps from pc" too. However, this may cause a problem that users may include say 1 million apks to their rom . Anyway, this function is not hard to implement. You will see it

Now the online kitchen could remove some wallpapers and themes which save you about 10mb space. For ringtones, well, it is a kind of complicated story. I will try.

you are right but i just tested two themes ( uber jelly and arctic grey or something, they both work). because the resolution is HDPI, all cm10 themes should work afaik.
I installed this earlier. Looks a really nice rom with loads of features etc. One problem: the Android keyboard app was not present - the only input method was voice (I don't really fancy shouting out my passwords ). I tried restoring the keyboard from TiBu but no dice - it would just hang. Is anyone else seeing this or have I done something stoopid? Thanks in advance.

The rom really is the smoothest I ever had.
But there is one thing that always makes me go back to aokp. The highly costumizable navigation bar. I really hate wasting that much screen size for the navigation bar. It would be great if you guys could put an option for changing the navigation bar height, or even an option for merging the navigation bar with the notification bar, into your rom.
But in terms of speed I am already in love
Great start... Majority of apps work... XBMC 12.2 FCs... Great speed...

Very smooth, but noticed a few things with apex and themes.
Apex tablet UI has a glitch with the search bar....it does not show up. And it has this odd line in the upper left corner.
Also, no way to get rid of the battery percentage when using a theme with a numbered icon.

Synergye and codefireX make their own kernels and usually other roms try to use cfx as their base so you'd be nuts to change it.. the rom and kernel are usually very tight.
synergy also builds graphics a little bit different than other roms so most other kernels won't work or be supported.
Update: I was wrong, read synergye's reply: you need to use anykernel Installer to apply custom kernels.

Thanks for the response, however the kernel in this is actually leankernel.
I'll update the OP, but we only support anykernel methods of custom kernel install. No custom kernel + ramdisk (boot.img) installs are supported. If people are doing this, they need to catch up to 5 years ago. We shouldn't make our distribution just like CM only because building kernels is too easy

Thanks for the clarification, I've never felt the need to try another kernel on one of your roms, your optimizations are usually sufficient and produce a great battery life.

Ok thanks for the info. I am just a scaredy cat to leave Franco but the rom is smoother than anything I have tried so far. Only thing I miss from EOS is status bar options and moving around the qs tiles. Going to stick with it though.
I was really bummed when EOS stopped updating, I run it on my 7 and 4. When I heard they merged I came right here and flashed it. Looking forward to seeing this rom grow.

Yes, you can use ART however I don't really recommend it because still not all apps are compatible and can cause some FC's for apps. I also didn't experience much of a performance difference with ART compared to Dalvic

I already use ART on Cataclysm and I can tell a difference. None of the apps I use are incompatible with ART. Will the FC's happen if I haven't had any FC's before? Also, what does this ROM include? Does it have the ROM + Gapps + SU + Busybox? Because the zip file seems insanely huge for just a ROM....

Yeah it includes Gapps and it'll prompt you for to install the Superuser installer. It'll just take a quick second to install it thereafter.

This pretty much what it has. No halo. Forgot to mention black in the ROM and the subtle theming is awesome.

sorry, don't see the download link neither. lol
Clean flash using twrp 2.6.3.4 failed, something about errors with symlinks. Md5 matched, so not a bad download. Any ideas?
EDIT: Never mind -- bad flash x 3. Worked on the fourth try!
Thanks for another ROM, dev (and Soup's recommendation does mean something)

It has been removed but my brother for some reason when he flashes it its still there but not on mine lol so I'm thinking for now it's the luck of the draw. Either way just wait for it to load. Just remember its an early first release .

Since you mentioned theming friendly have you applied the fixed phone.apk and contacts.apk that have the layers fixes?
Here is the link. They have then just for this phone.

Thanks, it's nice seeing more development come through; I'll give it a go when I get chance. Your opening statement is a tad light on punctuation though.
