[Online Kitchen] An online kitchen to customize your android rom (Offline) - Nexus One Android Development

This online kitchen is ONLINE now. However, it is still under construction. USE IT AT YOUR OWN RISK
Visit http://www.aok-project.com/ !
Hey, guys,
I'm developing an online kitchen to help everyone even without any knowledge of programming or kitchening customize to their own android rom.
Below is the interface of my website.
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Basically, here's how it works
Choose a your device
Choose a core (base rom), like CM_7.2_RC1 or CM_7.1_Stable
Choose the built-in apps. Here you can remove the built-in apps that you never use. For example, I like CM 7.2 rom, but I never use the built-in camera and message. Instead I use Go SMS Pro and Camera360. In this case, I could remove them by un-checking Camera and Message checkbox.
Submit your request
Download your core.zip and apps.zip. [Core.zip] contains all rom data except all built-in apps. [apps.zip] contains all built-in apps except ones you un-checked.
Flash them into your phone!
Done!
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
Right now, online kitchen only support Nexus One, CM 7.2 RC1 and CM 7.1 as core. In future, it would:
Support more devices and cores.
Allow you to add your own apks to the rom as built-in apps
Customize cores (patch kernel, remove unnessasary language files and etc.)
Personalization (Add your name to "About phone") Anyone could tell me is this possible? I mean, is this legal or against open source?
blah blah blah
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
So, anyone has any suggestion?
Thanks for your time and help!

If you add sense stuff later, will be a must.

So far everything works well, just want to know if any of you have any suggestion before using it.

As of now, it looks good to me! When I get off work I'm going to pull out my N1 from the box and use your kitchen to put something together, that's for sure!
I love that you have descriptions of what the files are. Makes things a bit more understandable.

wow this is definitely a great idea!

-after you include some more CORES this will be nice for sure~
-cant see the entire list of .apks from the screenshot but i hope it is alot.. or maybe an option to include your own apks from [my computer] ?

Maybe a functionality to remove/add ringtones and (live) wallpapers? Especially stock live wallpapers can be large in size.

I'm thinking "include our own apps from pc" too. However, this may cause a problem that users may include say 1 million apks to their rom . Anyway, this function is not hard to implement. You will see it

Now the online kitchen could remove some wallpapers and themes which save you about 10mb space. For ringtones, well, it is a kind of complicated story. I will try.

Ok thanks anyway, I'll talk to motley about it later , afterall it's his kernel Will any CM9/10 theme work with this?
CM themes can cause force closes and many other issues as this rom is built from source.

you are right but i just tested two themes ( uber jelly and arctic grey or something, they both work). because the resolution is HDPI, all cm10 themes should work afaik.
I installed this earlier. Looks a really nice rom with loads of features etc. One problem: the Android keyboard app was not present - the only input method was voice (I don't really fancy shouting out my passwords ). I tried restoring the keyboard from TiBu but no dice - it would just hang. Is anyone else seeing this or have I done something stoopid? Thanks in advance.

CM10/AOKP: Full Galaxy S3 Touchwiz UX, Theme, Widget Add-On For Jelly Bean

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1669190
I was asked about this on the general forum CM10 thread, not my work at all but just want to share the original 200+ page thread for those of you not aware. There are many derivatives of this add-on, but out of 10+ similar add-on's I have tried this one works most flawlessly. Launcher is 4x4 but as a result it works perfectly with accuweather widget. Even our own Note 2 is ditching the extra column and I like the bigger icons showing more icon detail on this over having more icons on the same screen.
Unlike any other package I have tried, this add-on when flashed with CWM morphs the actual system UI and core apps like dialer/MMS into S3 touchwiz look. It is also based on the new Jelly Bean leak so has speed and fluidity advantages. Just download 1.3.3 (last item on the download section) from mrmad.net, flash, wipe cache/dalvik and enjoy! CWM is required unfortunately to morph the system applications, without it you will just get launcher, widget and miss the dialer/UI tweaks. I tested this with quincyatt CM10 M2 and it works perfectly, and should work with all CM10 based ROMS (Paranoid, AOKP, etc). It has everything you need, just works and there is no messing with RWXX permissions!
Like many of you, I find Galaxy S3's nature UX to be a huge selling point. Note 1's gingerbread UI screamed "cheap iPhone copycat", but S3's touchwiz UX was so good that I would have stayed stock if Samsung treated their customers right and gave me the same visual treatment when they gave us the ICS upgrade. I love the new accuweather widget and I find it much better than any of the sense-inspired widgets I have tried, and I love the way they made Android feel warm, natural and inviting.

No, this is just a launcher. From what I know, those other apps require TW framework and other Libraries that arent in AOSP ROMs. It's a launcher like Nova or ADW. Only affects the homescreen and app drawer

[ROM][JB4.2.1] Eclipse 3.1 - Grouper - Welcome to the Dark!

Here we go guys and gals! This is the beginning of Eclipse 3.1! This does not have as many features as the 4.1.2 just yet. So chances are if there is a feature that you are missing it will come in a future build. I plan on releasing builds frequently as we progress in a more feature rich build.

I'm excited to have the better quick settings as toggles as they should have been from Google. Having them be shortcuts to their perspective settings is dumb. Can't wait to get off work today and try this ROM out!
I installed this a while ago and so far everything is running great, the only thing I noticed is that the changelog shows that it has the Trinity kernel but it does not appear to be there once the ROM is installed.
Edit: The only thing I've noticed is that when playing Need for Speed: Most Wanted the steering is now off about 8-9 degrees to the right, I have to hold the device tilted to the left to maintain a straight line while driving.
Edit 2: I got the steering issue figured out and all is well.

Nice to see 4.2 ROMs pop up here and there.
But considering all the complaints about the stock version, how's the battery life and performance? What about screen calibration?
I know benchmark results don't always have anything to do with real life but still it'd be fun to see some results in Quadrant, Velamo, Antutu.

I haven't released it yet due to a bug it has (which may be causing a mem leak, and it prevents the user from using an app to pick something; locking the gallery for example prevents from using it to pick an image).

I was just about to request this but then I saw your post. The 4.3 notifications have less unnecessary padding and the darker color goes along better with the system scheme.

I find that the padding makes it easier to catch my attention. I missed a lot of the older toasts. The new style is also a lot more attractive, but each to their own, I guess.

FAQ
What type of kernel does this use?
AOSP kernels. I, personally, use ElementalX.
Where's my root access?
Look up a little bit, above the FAQ section.
Where is ART?
It seems that this is a hybrid 4.3-4.4 build of android, mainly KitKat, but features such as ART and Immersive have yet to be implemented.
What about Immersive mode?
Read the question directly above this one. Immersive is partially present, but seems to be statusbar-only.

Themes haven't been fully implemented yet. You can test some of its current, limited functionality by going to Settings > Display > Wallpaper > Themes.

I notice it in the Copy/Paste mainly, but the order is easy to remember.

Are you sure you can use ElementalX with this? I've been running it since the first beta was released, but every time I try to flash a custom kernel it fails to boot at all. Also you should note that if you flash GAPPS the weekly automatic OTAs will fail due to the way MIUI implement weekly patches - checks for system apps and if it finds anything it is not expecting then it fails.

You can use ElementalX as long as you use the AOSP version. As for the GApps issue, I think I mentioned something about that in the OP. I'd have to double-check.
EDIT: I didn't mention that issue specifically, but I did mention to check that thread for details with root and GApps.

Amazing!
Thank you so much! This is amazing! A nice change from stock Android
I also have the Chinese characters in the copy/paste text popup even though I selected English. Definitely not a big deal though
Thanks OP!

If anyone wants, I have a little review of the ROM at http://en.miui.com/thread-20605-1-1.html. Enjoy!

Care to check General Chat? I was told to put the thread there by a mod due not being "original" (by me). Otherwise it's duplicated...
Have used the rom.... its sad we can only choose the V5 to flash.. the previous V4 is way better.. there is no theme to choose for V5 and all the icon fonts and logo are tiny winy...

This is actually v6, based on Android 4.4.2 KitKat.

What type of kernel does this use?
AOSP kernels. I, personally, use ElementalX.

Nice, but XDA and GPL require a link to kernel source included with the ROM. AOSP really means .... nothing as it's only a generic term.

There is no v6.. Search at en.miui.com and you would not find it.. This is just v5 based on kitkat.. Still a nice looking rom though!
