SanDisk 128gb micro sd card - Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 Accessories

I just got my 128gb sd card, real one from SanDisk, popped it in and it works perfectly.

I haven't tried it on my soon to arrive 12.2, but it works fine in my Galaxy Note 1 and plays 1.5 GB+ HD movies fine...on my computer running through a USB port.

Hello, which SanDisk 128GB card works for the PRO 12.2 and 10.1 2014? Could you please let us know the model number? Thanks.
SanDisk Ultra microSDHC and microSDXC UHS-I Cards SanDisk Ultra microSDHC and microSDXC UHS-I Cards
128GB 30MB/s microSDXC 10 Yes
SanDisk Ultra microSDXC UHS-I card for cameras SanDisk Ultra microSDXC UHS-I card for cameras

I can confirm that it does work in the Galaxy Note 12.2 as well as the Note 10.1 2014 Ed. and the Note 3.

Still ? 128gb card
Which is better? Which will work? Samsung technical support claims SDXC w/n work. I naive as I am, turn to experts here and ask... SDHC or SDXC? Teach me.

MicroSDHC and MicroSDXC will both work.
MicroSDHC was originally made to have cards over 8GB (not 100% sure on this number). MicroSDXC was created to break the 64GB limit and the speed limitations with Class 10 cards.
MicroSDHC is an older standard and should work fine. MicroSDXC is newer, but was created well before this tablet was created and should also work fine.

So it does work in the verizon note 3.... I've seen a few different compatible devices lists and other note 3 variants were listed, but not the verizon variant..

The most important question to ask is "how much space do you need?"
For me, 64GB is too little. I have several seasons of several shows and films on it. Between the extended LOTR trilogy in 1080p, 3 seasons of Sherlock in 720p, 4 seasons of Waking the Dead in Divx, 2 concerts in DVD and a music folder of 20GB, I'm well out of space.
Now, if you don't bring that much videos, or you have no problems bringing an exFAT drive with you, 64GB is more than enough. 4.4 no longer supports apps to write to the SD, so using it for app files has become redundant. (Unless you root)
You're probably off cheaper buying two 64GB cards, keeping one in your wallet and swapping them around.
If like me you need that much space (And swapping cards on a train is hell), the 128GB might be worth the money.
As for quality, both are fine.

Yes, well worth getting a quality sd card. Samsungs cards are super high quality. The cheap cards wont run videos.

My PNY 32gb class 10 has done amazing for me, very solid memory in any form ive seen
Don't buy a 64GB card, it is not supported. Max is 32GB.
i found this, SanDisk® Mobile Ultra™ Available in 4 GB, 8 GB 16 GB, and 32 GB, it said Up to 30 MB/sec read speed http://www.sandisk.com/misc/HD do you think this microsd work in our mobile phone. sorry for my english
I got a Sandisk 32GB Class 4 from Amazon. Works fine.
In my opinion, unless you are doing a lot of writing to the SD, the write speed (as reflected in the class number) is not that important.
I heard a lot of reports saying the 32gb is a problem 32gb just doesn't play well with this phone (Droid X2). The 16gb is the sweet spot I believe.
Picked up the PNY 16gb Class 10 at Amazon before Christmas for $19.99.All the playback problem's, skipping, speed have all gone this card has been flawless.

Do you take many pics and video, and do you save them directly to the sd card?
Others seem to have issue with 32gb/ class 10, like photos just disappearing
sd_shadow,
Sorry for not responding sooner life's been crazy
lately. I do take pics and video & save them to the ext
SD card. I don't have any issue's with music, video playback
or photos like I had with stock 8 gb card. I purchased this 16gb
class 10 for the same reason's you said about 32gb card.
I had heard the same about 32gb sd cards & Droid X2.
PS card price went up is a little higher today $17.05 still a
good buy.
Get a 32gb sandisk class 10. 64gb not supported by X2
Sent from your Girlfriends Droid X2 on Cyanogen 7!
All of the chips inside the cards are all made by Samsung, so its really a matter of how you treat your cards and the speed you want. For light use like music and photos, you won't notice the difference between class 6 and 10, if you often copy large video files or massive file syncs, then go for 10
Now I can't decide if I want a 16gb or 32gb. I don't want my card to lose pictures.

More reliable? That's a personal opinion as SanDisk's products have proven to be reliable as well.
One thing's for certain though, both of Samsung's 64GB microSD cards (1, 2 Reads/Writes @ 70MB/s/20MB/s) are slower than the Sandisk Extreme Plus card @ 80MB/s/50MB/s. With the Note 3's 4K video recording and best shot, the speed of the card is key.

The Ultras cannot, but I'm not sure if it's the card's fault. It defaults to 1080p when you choose card storage in the camera app. Not sure about the "plus." My guess is no, because it's built into the app to default to 1080p. Unless it's written in the code to allow 4k to be recorded to an external card based on testing the write speed... unlikely...much easier to default it to 1080p.

Same here. I have older SanDisk microSD cards in cameras and my kid's gaming devices which I've never had an issue with.
I'm sure tens of thousands of consumers are happy with both Sandisk & Samsung's microSD cards, just as there are plenty of people who will have all sorts of negative things to say about each company. Fact of the matter is that all products have a failure rate. That's just the reality of it. One person's bad experience doesn't set the mark for everyone else's.
Personally, there isn't an individual persuasive enough to deter me from ordering something just because they didn't enjoy it. I buy what best fits my needs.
Edit: Just received mine!
I think the 64 gig sandisk cards are the main ones that have issues.
I have a couple 32 gig sandisk cards that are a couple years old, but I have yet to have a 64 gig last more than 8 months.
After the second one I had went bad, I was googling for info on the 64 gig cards & found a thread about exactly that. In that thread, there where almost 400 responses and at the time over half of the posters had the same experience I had. Of course, people that had bad experiences with a product are more likely to speak out than people that have had no problems at all.
I know when they corrupted, sandisk didn't question the problem at all- they said they knew there had been problems with the product and where replacing them with no questions asked.
The card in my phone now is a 64 gig sandisk. It is about 6 months old and works fine so far, but I make sure I never store anything to it that isn't backed up somewhere else.

Yes. It's compatible.
The specs listed for any smartphone are created based on what is avaulable on the public market at the time the phone is announced. The listed specs are not updated, but the larger sized cards are fully compatible regardless.
Keep in mind that you will need to use .nomedia files to exclude all non-mediaplayer related folders from the indexing process(just copy one into each folder you wish to exclude), or the Media process is going to drain your battery flat within an hour.

Just so everyone knows, the shortest SanDisk warranty is 5 years (some are warrantied for 10 years). If you have a bad card, don't contact the seller, contact SanDisk at http://kb.sandisk.com/app/answers/list/kw/microsd microsdhc/ (there's a live chat available). If you need an RMA to return the defective card, it's at http://kb.sandisk.com/app/rmaform/session/L3RpbWUvMTQyODI3NTgxOS9zaWQvSjlPcjM4am0= If you check the search box, though, you'll find that a lot of "bad" cards can be recovered pretty easily. (If it can be recognized by a computer, using a card reader, you can recover the data by running http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/PhotoRec on the card (instructions at http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/PhotoRec_Step_By_Step ).

[Q] recommendations for decent 64gb micro sd card?

hi I'm looking for a decent class 10 and above 64gb micro sd card for my z3 as I have ran out of space on both my phone memory (16gb Z3) and my 8gb class 4 card that really needs to go as its unreliable with my z3 and severely outdated, I've been searching on amazon for 64 gb cards but everyone I look at has mixed reviews saying that there good bang for buck with the correct read/write speeds as advertised but others saying the cards are fake and don't have good read/write speeds like with the orange Samsung evo and SanDisk ultra cards I been looking at. Can anyone point me in the right direction for a decent 64gb class 10 micro sd card?

I had a 64GB Sandisk Extreme Plus, and it failed on me right after my 2-week vacation. EVO will do just fine as I have not experience failures from it yet. Go with Samsung Pro if you don't worry about spending more money. The difference between the EVO and Pro is the speed--Pro can go up to 90 MB/s, while EVO can do up to 48 MB/s. I have both of these from Amazon, and I can say that the EVO's speed is more than enough for my usage of the phone. If you are into 4K recording on the phone, go with the Pro though, as 4K may need that extra speed.
Currently, there are deals on these: http://slickdeals.net/f/7874453-samsung-evo-class-10-microsd-card-64gb-24-32gb-14-16gb-10

Samsung Pro / Lexar (aka Crucial/Micron) / Sandisk Pro and above, should all be good.
So im guessing Sony SD cards are a no no even for Sony phones?
I know Samsung makes the ram and some other stuff for sony phones but wouldnt a sony sd card be most optimized for best use with a sony phone?
Which of the following three looks best...
(Note this Sony card is a new release and has the greatest speed)
Sony 64GB Class 10 UHS-1 Micro SDXC up to 70MB/s Memory Card
SanDisk Ultra 64GB UHS-I/Class 10 Micro SDXC Memory Card Up to 48MB/s
Samsung 64GB EVO Class 10 Micro SDXC up to 48MB/s
(I cant post links so copy and paste those on amazon if need be)
I bought a SAMSUNG 128GB EVO UHS-I CLASS 10 MICROSDXC Micro in ebay (don't have the link at this moment).
It cost me about 50 dollars and it's working great so far.
You can find them in Amazon also at almost the same price.

(but generally there are other good cards with high write-read speed)

sandisk is another good memory card
I simply used samsung because I had these cards unused a long time ago...
I have had problems with Sandisk in Samsung phones but not sure if that issue has been fixed... That was a while ago...
Samsung 512gb SD card works well too...
I'm going to reopen this discussion, if folks are willing.
We all want high capacity cards. The Tab S4 is a laptop replacement tablet after all is said and done.
All Amazon prices.... (6/28)
So you have four choices....
SanDisk Extreme, 1TB (now available on Amazon) for $427. 88
SanDisk Extreme 512GB for $169. 99
SanDisk Extreme 400GB for $85.49
Or
And Samsung EVO Select 512GB for $100
According to reviews the SanDisk cards have a higher read speed than the Samsung card, but the same write speed.
Seems to me the 1TB card is just too expensive. The faster read SanDisk 512GB card is more than 50% more expensive the equivalent slower read Samsung card. The SanDisk 400GB card is half the cost of the 512GB card.
So which do you choose and why?
I currently have an older SanDisk 400gb card, am leaning toward the 512GB SanDisk. But salivating over the 1TB card.

Tab S4 is limited to 400gb sd card per spec or has it been tested with 512?

The SDXC format is good to 2TB. They had a similar low "upper spec" for my Tab S2 of 256GB and 400GB worked fine. Virtually everything I've read says that the upper spec they quote is not based on the reality of the hardware. The way one site explained it was that the upper spec is set by marketing based on the largest available card out at the time the marketing material was generated. If I could afford it, I'd go for the 1TB card without any worries
There are several, other card brands out there now on Amazon for 512GB cards around $100. It is hard to find direct head-to-head reviews of the actual 512gb cards, but it seems like it holds true that they all write at about the same speed, but SanDisk Extreme reads faster - but costs 50% more.
A possibly unrelated aside, I've attached a 1TB hard drive via USB without any issues outside of the pain-in-the-*$$ that NTFS gives. As far as I can tell in the memory manager, USB OTG drives and memory sticks are treated the same as the SD card.

Well, if you read the earlier posts you'd see I use a 512gb sd card...
What you need to remember is that the specs put out are generally what was available at the time...
No company is going to put out that the tablet will support a 2Tb card as that isn't currently available but that is what SDXC is supposed to support, then it will go to the next standard., Heck, most phones available at the moment won't support the 1Tb card according to their specs as these were NOT tested pre-release...
