[RECOVERY] Team Win Recovery Project 2.6.3.0 - Samsung Galaxy S 4 Zoom

Welcome.
This is the Team Win Recovery Project 2.6.1.0 Samsung Galaxy s4 Zoom.
I checked it myself and it works :good:
The method of installation.
Turn off the phone.
Phone connect the computer with the USB cable.
Press and hold the HOME and VOLUME DOWN and POWER, Continue Volume up.
Turn Odin, click the AP and select TWRPv2.6.1.0.tar and Start.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Added a new version of TWRP 2.6.3.0.
Changes from previous version:
1. Added dimming the screen (Settings - Screen)
2. When connected to a computer - adb with root privileges
3. Added connect external flash drives / disks by OTG, with the ability to backup to them (Mounted in folder usbstorage, before that it is necessary to mount the menu Mount)
4. Mounting Micro SD flash drive to the computer (Mount - Mount USB Storage)
5. Added support for the NTFS file system
6. Well, probably the most important (for me) now TWRP can normally use! Touchscreen no longer lag.

Can you upload picture of phone with TWRP in it?
And what model are you using, the SM-C101 or SM-C105?

I use the model SM-C101.
I do not have a camera to take a picture TWRP.

ok brother, thank you for the TWRP recovery.
can you port CWM or Carliv as well? it would be awesome if you did.
we have CWM now but is non-english one, so it's a little confusing

If on an ATT C105A, do not flash this. The ATT unauthorized check will trigger leaving you with a soft brick and no firmware to flash.
On a side note, be wary about bloatware updates after a hard reset. It is very rare but this can also trigger the soft brick. It appears to be tied to bloatware update install crashing and rebooting the device. This was found out after about 4 hours with Tier 3 tech support.

Welcome.
Added a new version of TWRP 2.6.3.0.

Soft brick and no ATT firmware to flash back to. Samsung doesn't even have the ATT firmware on their servers. It has been hinted that the TelCel mexico firmware can be flashed to the C105A ATT but after two weeks of testing every C105 firmware I still have a paperweight.

It work, but very very difficul to you because you can not see any thing due to recovery problem.
All thing you can do is guess what's on your screen . It take me 3hr to guess, now my Mega 5.8 is rooted.

Bro,
Could you share what you did to install it? is the cwm all d same?
I have just tried to follow the referenced procedure. There is a serious issue with the CWM Recovery. It installs ok, but then you cannot read its menu on the screen. It shows a wave of badly distorted lines that are totally unreadable. Now I see why oldmanhp had to guess what those unreadable lines mean. I wonder if CWM actually tested it! I did not want to guess anything, so I flashed back stock recovery and left rooting for now.
Unfortunately no, it doesn't work although it won't brick your phone whatsoever, your phone just won't have recovery. In case you already flashed, just flash back the stock recovery via Odin in PDA. However, a root and cwm is already available for Galaxy Mega 6.3 I9205 at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2369998

Brother, it is pretty dodgy when you can't read any of the menu or sub-menu items. First, the exact order of the menu items is not consistent and depends on the particular Recovery version. Secondly, when it comes to navigating your device's folder structure to pick the exact file, and you cannot read anything, that is tough. I must say you're great to have navigated your way through! I'll wait for a CWM recovery useable by mere mortals.

Now i have a rooted phone
Does any one know if cyanogenmod is being developed for this ?
Stock ROM is pretty bad, samsung has disabled Move to SD, I have to use softwares to map folders from Phone to SD.
Samsung is slowly increasing bloatwares and removing good features, also USB mass storage is not available.
I will have to be more carefull next year while choosing a phone

I mean to say why use software for enabling each function, when they are available by default in android.
Why go for Samsung's bloated and restricted Firmware.. When Micromax has better ROM ?
My S Plus had more functionality than Mega 5.8.
You certainly have to give up Quality side, but you will get more functionality in less price with Micromax.
Any way my average phone use is 1.5 years at max. Macromax can last that long, even 1 year is a good bargain.

Yes no usb mass storage.. only PTP and MTP mode.. if windows driver correctly installed MTP mode should be no problem showing your portable device icon GT-I9152 with phone & card storage. Only missing Move to sdcard function.

Tried the flags we discussed
You end up with a zImage-dtb, but it has no DTB embedded data
You can verify by comparing it to the zImage: they are same
Also, no DTB files were created during compiling
The end is a zImage without the DTB info

Yea I noticed that b4 I broke mine from compiling. lol Not overly concerned with it atm. I'm sure the kernel gurus will work their magic.
Haven't installed it yet.
But I am dying hard to get a kernel for exynos with Boeffla or Faux audio driver.
Thank you for the CWM recovery!
Getting my Galaxy S5 tomorrow! And only have this one SM-G900H variant in my country. I will be replacing the recovery with this as soon as I get it!

Gave another go without the auto boot. Ran the whole thing, then it was left at the blue reset on Odin. So I pulled the cable, pulled the battery, and did the recovery reset with the volup, menu and power thing.
Goes then to the message "recovery is not seandroid enforcing " and then just reboots the phone regularly without ever going through recovery.
Something wrong in the process or the way I did it?

[Guide] (Root ) the Official 4.4.2 K.K Rom Mega I9200

Hi Guys,
yesterday i updated my Mega I9200 to the Official 4.4.2 K.K rom
and i found it so great to have this update ... but the only thing bothered me is how to root it !!
i searched alot for away until i found this way that I ALREADY TESTED for mine and
it worked well :victory:
1st : I'M NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY FAILURE / SABOTAGING YOUR DEVICE
as i said before it worked well for me and i just want to share it
for the fellows who have this beautiful device .
2nd : How to Root :
1- charge your device to a good limit ex. over 80% .
2- Take a backup for important stuff (apps-contacts-messages- etc. ) "Just in Case " .
3- Install philz_touch_CWM Recovery :
Download and start Odin 3.07
Download philz_touch_6.25.0-melius3gxx.tar.md5
Add .md5 file to PDA in Odin & Make sure that only F.Reset Time and Auto Reboot are ticked
Now you need to turn off your smartphone and put it into “Download Mode”
To do so, fist make sure that your device is completely turned off & press and hold Volume Down + Home + Power keys
Now using the original USB cable, connect it to PC & If phone is connected correctly, the colour or ID:COM box will change as well
Now just click on the start button
4- by now you have the philz Recovery on your device .
5- after that there is 2 Ways to root you device ( i did the 1st one & worked well )
1st Way :
boot into philz_touch Recovery by turn off your device Press and hold Volume Up + Home + Power buttons
open "philz settings " in recovery and choose " Re-Root the system "
reboot the device normally into the rom
after the device boot up install " superSU " app
and hence you have ROOTED your device
2nd Way :
same as 1st way but instead of open " philz settings " , you choose to install zip from SD Card
choose SuperSU v1.99 zip , that you already downloaded to sd card .
after flashing it , reboot normally and install " super SU " app
and hence you have root
Downloaded Files :
philz_touch_6.25.0-melius3gxx.tar.md5 http://filerio.in/av9q567dc3fr
UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.99.zip http://filerio.in/vmqa4fbzszua
Odin3_v3.07.rar http://filerio.in/rfsww8dayjuz
Hope this was helpful to all of you Guys .
P.S : the forum moderators are welcomed to move the topic to right sector if it's not right .

i don't know is this happened before or after trying this but
a general case of sd card read/write issue after kk update
use this app to fix : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=nextapp.sdfix
but you must root your phone 1st then use this app as it needs root .
Hi Hatem,
it did not work for me, i'm still on 4.2.2 & Knox was installed recently!
i followed the steps but no root or change in the recovery menu whatsoever
any advise would be great
Thanks for the effort anyways
it worked following this guide

When you flash the recovery make sure that you untick auto-reboot option in odin then flash the recovery. When it is done manually reboot the phone by holding the power button for a while and then hold the volume up and home button as soon as it starts to boot.

[Q] Can't Load CWM/TWRP on MDK

I am at a complete loss for a fix. Short story is: I wasn't receiving any MMS, so I finally decided to ODIN back to stock and used this method so I could keep my data. Here's what happened next:
- ODIN passed but I couldn't get past the Verizon logo
- Tried several suggested fixes but the last resort one worked; I wiped data & factory reset (thus defeating the purpose of the no-wipe ODIN... w/e)
- Everything loads fine, TouchWiz works but I get a Factory Mode popup and can't lock my screen. (still can't lock my phone even now but will use this method if I think I'm stuck with TouchWiz)
- I use this method to unlock bootloader and root - root confirmed.
- Try to install CWM recovery or TWRP (btw, where the hell did GooManager go and why is it so hard to find now) and they say successful but I simply can't boot into them, just keep getting the factory recovery screen which won't let me flash any roms or any non-signed .zips
- MMS Still doesn't work!
- I call VZW in desperation and somehow they magically reset my account services and MMS works again! (I probably could have done this in the first place and not lost my ROM/Data and sanity if I'd known)
I have looked high and low for a solution but have found none. I also have been unable to find a REGULAR stock MDK file to flash on this phone - I can only find the NO-WIPE version which doesn't even allow you to keep your data. I'm confused and frustrated and would love some active help, I just can't find the right threads/posts/ect.
Thank you kindly for any advice.. I love my S4 and have been using PA, PAC, CM and other ROMS since the day I got it - I need that back! TouchWiz is just... I just don't like it.
Try this one.

Thanks for the original stock.. sadly I am still ending up with the Android System Recovery and despite installing CWM Recovery, I just can't get to it. I also still get the ridiculous Factory Mode popup.
Any ideas? I'm so sad :'(
From off it's either home+volume down+power or home+volume up+power. One boots into stock recovery the other will boot into CWM.
Hold all three until you see some small blue text in the upper left of the screen.

Thanks for the effort but I'm well aware of that. As I said in the OP, I've been using custom ROMs on this since day one - the issue is that I cannot boot into CMW Recover, despite having a successful install via the app.
Dumb question, which app are you using? I use RomManager to install CWM (up to 6.0.4.7) and I have a flashable zip of 6.0.5.0.

I'm using ROM Manager but it won't work. I'd love to try ODIN flashing the CWM Recovery if you have the file for my MDK build.
I may have it on my PC at home. When I get there (60-90 min) I'll look. If I do I'll post up to Dropbox and give you a link.
Ok, I've searched my HDD and I don't have the CWM file. What I do have is the MDK all-in-one root+recovery tool for the I545. I can put it up and upload it if the file isn't too large but I don't know if that'll help you.
CWM 6.0.5.0 flashable zip is in the CM11 thread but I don't know if the recovery image in the file is good for you, either
Just use Flashify to get TWRP

I was about to complain about your assumption that I knew what that was.. then I found it on the play store and it actually worked! Thank you so much - now here's to hoping I can find a nice stable 4.4.4 ROM to put back on here!
I'm still at a loss for why ROM Manager was unable to flash CWMR but I guess I don't _need_ to know, I am so happy this is a big step after 3 days of touchwiz hell!

This thread might be dead, but rather than starting a new one for what is probably a stupid question, I'll ask it here and see what happens. I've been having major trouble flashing any 5.0 rom on my MDK VZW S4....Seems like every ROM fails when flashing. I have a feeling my issue is an outdated version of TWRP (2.5.0.2), but I am very hesitant to update because it seems like everyone has been having issues with 2.8.1.0. With this being said, are you guys currently running the most current version of TWRP and would you mind advising which .img file worked via Flashify? Not sure whether to use the jfltexxx or jfltevzw...or if it even matters.
I'm sure I've left out pertinent information, but let me know what I'm missing and I'll update accordingly.
I've been using the latest version of TWRP 2.8.1.0 and running Euroskank Lollerpop with zero issues. Coincidentally, TWRP just got updated today to 2.8.3.0 which i have yet to flash but will do so shortly. I would recommend JFLTEVZW based on my usage. Not sure if the other variant works or not but it appears you have a verizon device so stick with JFLTEVZW.

Thank you very much for getting back to me. When you flashed 2.8.3.0, was it a .zip file from recovery or a .IMG through flashify or another app? Thanks again for your help!

I look forward to a twrp for Android 7. I already updated to Android 7 but lost my root and I would like to reinstall/flash magisk through twrp. The lasty twrp versions I tried in Android 6, showed upside down on my phone when I booted twrp, but the touchscreen was at the "regular" spot, so it was very very difficult to navigate. I hope I do not have that problem with the next twrp.

Thank you very much. The twrp still loaded upside down, but I was able to carefully navigate it to install magisk v11.1 again to regain my root and be able to use Android Pay once again. Thank you again!
You think by now that the twrp would be back to normal after all these updates. Is there something missing in there, that making it upside down?

Ummm......Maybe you are S821 model?The twrp maker seem doesn't have S821 model,so this recovery mightn't work on 6G/256G

There is no need for all these complicated steps. My phone(Z016D) was also rooted. I just downloaded the Nougat ROM, copied it over to the root of the internal drive. As soon as you disconnect the phone from PC, you will get a notification "New System Update detected". Click Update and you're good to go. After installation, I would suggest to do a factory reset.

It's a good news! You mean that you update to 7.0 with twrp?!!!It is awesome!
However I want to know that how did you root?with superSU?system-less superSU?magisk?or another? And did you change your system?like install Exposed,viper4Android,or delete some system app?I think these actions might make you meat some problem when updating. So I think my method might be almost 100% to update success.
Whatever thanks for your advice, and enjoy your root

How exactly can they create problems. There reason you can't have OTA updates is unlocked bootloader. That however, shouldn't really prevent you from flashing rom through recovery via SD card or sideload or just dropping it into internal storage and doing what rynaus did.
