[Q] Before reinstalling it, could I modify the ROM to change the font size and font? - AOKP Q&A

I'm wanting to change the font on most of the system things for the ROM to a different size, and I'm also wanting to change it to Roboto Condensed. Is there a way I could modify the folders of the ROM to do this? I've tried the apps on the Play Store, but they don't work.

[Q] How would I download a font to use with Minimalistic Text?

Does this require a rooted phone? I simply need the font for the app, not to reflash my phone or whatever.
Are you looking to use this in an app you're developing, or as a system font?
I saw an article on tutsplus showing how to handle fonts (including custom fonts) in your own app. You can include the font in your app's assets.
If you want a font to be usable in other apps, you will need root. The font folder requires root access to modify: /system/fonts/Droid*.ttf

change font (non root)

Hi is there a way to change the font in our S3 without root?
This app will allow you to install several fonts:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.hongik.fontomizerSP
then you go in Settings -> Display -> Font and from there you can change the fonts.
Some launchers (such as Go Launcher Ex) also allow for changing fonts.
Edit: you don't need root for the above to work.

Issue with Changing PlayStore icon in apk

Hi guys
I have been trying to theme my current installed app's icons using 7zip. i know i want to do this way coz i'm on honami stock launcher which doesnt support iconpacks.... So i can change icon successfully on playstore app apk using 7zip drag n drop replace way, but then after reboot playstore wont open/force close. ( changed in data/app/com.android.vending-1.apk icon. Then i wiped dalvik cache and fixed permissions. So it opens and but it appears like previous version in UI and when i open second time it upgrades to latest version and stock icon back
But i edited the latest apk in data/app/... So any way around this... i know this is strange way of doing it and you may ask?? but i want to keep stock laucher and theme icons .... any help appreciated...

How Themer works without Root permissions?

How Themer works without Root permissions? I mean, don't you have to change the SystemUI.apk or framework-res.apk ?
You don't need root permissions to make Themer work.

I think its just a launcher

As mentioned above, no root access/permissions is required
works well
thanks... I know it doesn't require permissions, but my question is how it can replace things without root permissions?
can it also change the Status Bar icons?

You can't do these without root permissions. Yes, you can mod the system ui with a computer, but you need root permissions to replace your current one.

Everyone somehow seems to be missing the point here...
Yes, of course Themer works without Root. But How?
See, Themer is a launcher. Android doesn't force you to use it's native launcher, such as TouchWiz, HTC Sense, or whatever your phone has as default.
You are allowed to download and use custom launcher applications.
This is one such custom launcher.
Since Themer is it's own app, it can change everything about itself. (Such as the icons, images, widgets, fonts, and everything else.)
What it cannot do, is theme other apps or change your status bar. (Those DO require edits in Framework and SystemUI, and would require flashing and root.)
So Themer doesn't require Root because it doesn't NEED it.
TL;DR: Themer is a custom launcher that changes its own settings, and therefore does not need root.

Hello!
I think the title says it all.
I have the stock cm12 launcher but it only allows 16 apps per folder.
How do I modify the launcher to disable this limit? I like the cm12 launcher and don't want to get rid of it. Help?
