[Q] Bizarre Email problem - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm trying to set up an email account on my Android phone. I hold the account on Office365 Outlook which works fine, but I've tried to set up a pop3 account on three different email systems (Cloud Magic, Aquamail and M Mail) with the same result: 30 or 40 Emails load but they are all dated in February 2014 with the latest email being February 20th. No more recent emails will load!
I'm out of ideas--can anyone give me a steer??

[Q] Random emails being sent?? (Stock Froyo)

I've just picked up my Vibrant 2 days ago and updated it through Kies to the latest version. Says 2.2 FROYO.UVKA6 in the menu.
Had 2 Yahoo email addresses setup and 1 Gmail account. The Gmail was setup in the e-mail app as well as the native Gmail app.
Now I had been replying to a friend a couple of times, from my Gmail account (probably from the e-mail app). After a while I got some replies back, with the same subject as the emails I'd replied to, but what he received where random emails from my Yahoo inbox!!
Of course I removed the Yahoo accounts right away, but does anyone know about this problem, and what can I do about it?
Thanks!

[Q] Sense Email not syncing

Anyone else having problems getting the native HTC email to sync correctly? I have an Exchange account and 3 IMAP accounts and the IMAP accounts will not sync on a regular basis. I loaded up Enhanced Email and it works fine.
I checked as many setting as I could and all appears to be set correctly: wireless networks all set to never sleep, background data and auto-sync both checked
I can keep using Enhanced Email but it's aggravating that I can't get the HTC app to work correctly.
Anyone have any ideas?
I figured it out. When I first got the phone and went through the setup I got a 504 gateway error. I also got there 504 gateway error when initially trying to set up my email accounts. Called customer service and they said to skip out of the setup and do everything manually. She said there was a glitch in the software and that the Gmail and Yahoo account setups didn't work and that all accounts needed to be set up through the IMAP process. Needless to say this is what was causing my problem.
To correct the email sync issue I deleted all of my accounts and set them up through the Gmail and Yahoo account set up process and all appears to be working now.
I am having the same problem so I just tried this option of setting up my yahoo accounts through the set up process. It does appear to receive email much faster but there are some downsides.
My Yahoo inbox (on the website) and the inbox on my Rezound are not completely synced now. The app has the option of downloading up to 30 days of email. Mail older than 30 days doesn't show up on the phone even if it's in your inbox on the website. Conversely, email that I deleted or moved from my inbox some time ago has now magically reappeared on my phone.
Another problem is that my mail folders that I set up on the website do not appear on the Rezound mail app anymore.
Seems the negatives are too numerous to have better syncing. I'm switching back to the manual setup as all the problems I mentioned above are not there and I'll just put up with poor syncing for now.

[Q] Native email app is slow with hotmail

Hi,
I have a galaxy s3 - which is the reason I am posting here - and have Android version 4.1.2 running. On 4.1.1 the email client was - in my experience - great. I had 2 gmails, a hotmail and an exchange email address syncing. There were no major speed issues or anything
When I upgraded tot 4.1.2 the sync of gmail when smooth as I expected. Then I tried to add my hotmail using active sync.
All went well and I set up my email to sync for all my emails - which I had in 4.1.1 as well and it is about 15K emails - It started downloading them in batched of 5 from last to newest. Everytime it synced about 20 and stopped. I have push set up and while roaming use the set up config - not manual - It took about 2 days to sync all my mails which I find strange because it didn't on 4.1.1 as well as download 50Kb of the message.
Is this a bug or is it my inbox or what is the problem?
Is there any other app that has combined inboxed for gmail, hotmail en exchange?
Thanks in advance,
Dunky
I don't ever use the Mail app as I have only Gmail accounts so cannot really point out the problem but what I can do is that advise you to use AquaMail (Search on Play Store) and see whether it provides a nicer experience.
Hit Thanks button if I helped you.
Not working for me since I want to use exchange active sync of hotmail: m.hotmail.com - AquaMail only supports IMAP and POP3 neither of them I like

Stock email app problem displaying Hotmail emails

Hello, I am using the stock email app on the MT2L03 configured for Hotmail, Gmail, Yahoo and Exchange mail boxes. I noticed that any graphics / pictures in Hotmail emails body copies are only showing up as web URL.
However, emails from all the other mail services display correctly
So if I forward an email from Hotmail to Gmail and read it on the stock client, it displays perfectly.
I tried to get help from the helpline but they asked me to speak to Microsoft for a resolution!
I have tried both m.hotmail.com and s.outlook.com as the mail server config with no luck.
The mate 2 email client is a mess
You might want to forget about the stock email client and go with an all gmail solution, seems to work well for me :
Download the gmail and exchange apks from Android police (since I can't post links google: Gmail 5.0 With Exchange Support And Material Design Has Landed)
Either disable your stock email client or remove
Open gmail
Setup a new account, choose exchange as the type.
Setup the account like you would on the stock client.
The exchange sync seems to work for me.
If you want something easier and nice, get the mailwise app (again, can't post a link) from play (just know you can'tadd or update contacts). .

Android Outlook App will not load messages

Hi
I can't get my btconnect.com emails to load onto the Outlook mail app on my HTC One (M8). I'm having similar problems with other mail apps I've tried that attempt auto registrations. My desktop Outlook is linked to Office 365 Home and I've tried to load the Android with both an Office365 account and Outlook/Hotmail account. Nothing doing. The app will happily load calendar and contacts, but doesn't pull any emails.
Oddly, one of the other apps I've tried using a manual setup will load emails, but only between 2 and 20 Feb 2014--what's that all about?
I've tried Bluemail, and Cloudmagic to no avail. Running out of ideas fast--any solutions out there?
Thanks in advance

I have noticed that outlook doesn't download some emails. Don't know why. I think you'd be better off contacting the Microsoft devs of outlook. You can find an email to send to in the play store.
